I keep forgetting about Tumblr and it's been going for long enough so I'm just gonna dump all the "reimagined paradoxes" in here, not gonna make a separate post for each of them 💀 But in general, I based the past ones off of real life fossil organisms or things that might have been present in our past, and the future ones were mostly based off of spec evo or some other form of natural progression I think that pokemon species might have but not like a regular evolution or mega, if that makes sense??? Anyways let's hope I don't make the next post in 5000 years 💀💀💀

Year of the Dragon 2024
Tumblr media
A spin off of my Pop Culture Paleoart series, and a tribute to the concept of the dragon, from the mythological beasts that inspire awe and wonder, to the plethora of dragons of pop culture... and of course the great reptiles that either probably inspired them or are named after.
From the lovable bearded dragon to the mighty Komodo dragon, and the creatures of the past that we also name after the awe-inspiring creature.
I'll leave y'all to guess which dragon is which in this piece, but I can give you the names of the dragons of our world:
Komodo Dragon
Bearded Dragon
Common Flying Dragon (Draco volans)
Sailfin Dragon
And for the past:
Quetzalcoatlus
Smok wawelski
Dracovenator
Guidraco
Ikrandraco
Guanlong

I do believe every 2000s Dino-nerd and their older sibling has Dinosaur King’s opening song living rent free in their head somewhere.
(Fun fact: Every English dub VA has played a role in the Pokémon anime)

THE AMARIA REGION IS BACK!
and to celebrate, I decided to skip straight to the fossils, I plan 3 fossil lines for the region, so welcome the first one of the bunch:
Chewro, the Dino-Chick Pokémon!
Rock/Fairy type
Chewro is based on Scipionyx, an italian dinosaur with preserved gut contents in its fossil, the fossil was nicknamed Ciro, thus the name.Ciro was also a baby, which is the reason I decided to go with Chewro not being able to evolve.

Armovish, the Armored Beast Pokémon!
Type: Water/Steel
Evolves from Vishmail
Investing into even a more powerful jaw, Armovish had one of the strongest projected bite strengths in the fossil record. With its armored front and unbelievable mandibles, it was a top predator in the seas it inhabited.

Alright let's try this again.
Hello Tumblr people, I'm Min Tayza (you can call me Min Tayza for short) and you might know me from Twitter or Instagram with the handle @sketchy_as_fork.
I'm an artist working digitally on Procreate, painting dinosaurs, pterosaurs, plesiosaurs and all the other -saurs, with the occasional Pokémon, a fusion or two, thrown in for flavor.
I've been meaning to reboot this old blog for a while now and the recent rate limit shenanigans on Twitter seem like the right time to commit to the jump. I'll still be on Twitter but I'm going to try to use Tumblr as well.
Yeah here's some of my recent paintings and a couple I'm really proud of, I hope you like it, reblog it, comment, and whatever else you do here to support artists. I'll be making separate posts for individual paintings soon.
also I really really want to find my mutuals and artists I followed on Twitter and I want them to find me so if reblogging helps with that I appreciate it thank yewww

Demystifying Phylogeny: The Relationships & History of Typing, Regional Variations, & Speciation, And An Analytical Perspective of Layman Misconceptions About the Pokémon Kingdom. Harmonia et al
5.5k words. I finished this like two days ago but I needed to draw diagrams because that's just the kind of person I am. Anyways if you're someone who likes paleobiology and phylogeny and pokemon and wants to read 5.5k words of those topics smooshed into one sizeable infodump in the format of a scientific article... I've got you covered like nobody else does lol.

Someone filmed the Pokemon Fossil Museum exhibition and I wish so badly that it would come here; we could easily host it at a museum like AMNH, or the Liberty Science Center, or the Franklin Institute...
Anyway, I cried over Archen at 1 am again. LOOK AT THIS.

And for good measure, a Plume Fossil.
Tumblr media
From what I can tell, the exhibition discusses how Archaeopteryx is viewed as a transitional figure between non-avian dinosaurs and modern birds, too. Each Pokemon fossil’s real-life equivalent is displayed alongside it; they had an Archaeopteryx for Archen, an Anomalocaris for Anorith, etc.
I really want the book from this exhibition, but so far I’m striking out on PokeVault, so hopefully I’m able to scrounge it up somewhere.
Bonus: comes with Pikachu cosplaying Dr. Alan Grant.

(Please note the T-rex has spinal feathers this is verrrry important to me shhhh)

Meet the Anomalocaris, this "Abnormal Shrimp" 🦐 lives up to its name! Read 📜 on this post to discover how paleontologists 🔍 solved this jigsaw puzzle 🧩 turning it into a prehistoric portrait painted in fossils.

if pokemon were real and you were a farmer, you might want sheep. if you happened to live in galar, you would get almost normal earth sheep. if you lived anywhere else, the "sheep" you'd have to get would be bioelectrical dinosaurs. I just think it's so cool that the two kinds of sheep in pokemon are completely different. I would be the kid to be like "actually wooloo isn't a true sheep, it's closer related to gogoat". What type of dinosaur even is mareep? I bet mareep is a heterodontosaur. I know this is a long post, but it just is so cool to me to think that the sheep of pokemon are dinosaurs. in universe, that's very cool. but its also cool that the designers chose to do that. ok bye!

I keep forgetting to post in here, so let's just pretend I don't, have this past paradox Furret as an apology 👐 But anyways, let's talk about it!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As I already said, Long Fangs is the past paradox form for Furret, and it's mainly based off of Carnotaurus, but also just some cartoon prehistory tropes in general, like the horns and the saber teeth.
Tumblr media
Unlike regular Furret, Long Fangs can run very fast, not just walk, mainly because of the already stablished Carnotaurus inspiration, who were really fast.
That's it from me for now, also as always here is its cry ✨
