To those that celebrate it, have a Happy Easter Sunday! May God bless you, as Christ ascended to heaven, rising after sacrificing himself to forgive the sins of humankind.
For those who are Trans and still of the faith, I pray that God can give you strength and comfort, as well as the bless you and your loved ones. When the world says other wise, never forget, it is your truth that matters, the truth that it's in your heart and what your soul says who you are.
I'm not good with words at times, so apologies beforehand for awkwardness, especially as an outsider (I'm a Muslim), but I grew surrounded by Christians in my early days, and I can only pray that God bless.

Always a good reminder. Happy Easter everyone!
It's that time of year when Tumblr celebrates Easter by posting pictures of crucified anime characters, and inevitably somebody in the notes will pop up to helpfully explain that crucifixion imagery has no cultural significance in Japanese media because Japan is only about 1% Christian, which bugs me because it's completely wrong.
It's true that in the majority of cases, crucifixion in Japanese cartoons isn't meant to be conveying any specific theological message, but something Western audiences are likely to miss is that a large portion of those random crucifixion scenes are referencing Ultraman.
Ultraman's creator was a devout Roman Catholic who explicitly intended the titular hero to read as a Christ figure, and consequently, various Ultramen have been crucified on multiple unconnected occasions throughout the franchise's history. Crucifixion scenes in Japanese cartoons are often directly name-checking particular crucifixion incidents from Ultraman, right down to emulating the compositions and camera angles of specific shots. It's like an especially morbid version of the Akira slide.
The upshot is that, while it's true that the inclusion of gratuitous crucifixion scenes in Japanese cartoons typically has no (intentional) theological message, stating that they have no cultural significance is incorrect. A large chunk of the Japanese viewing audience are going to see them and immediately go "hey, that's an Ultraman reference".
Anyway, as an image tax, have a shot of four crucified Ultramen miraculously resurrecting a fifth Ultraman by shooting laser beams out of their hearts:

Saint Patrick and the Beasts of Ireland
Happy Saint Patrick’s Day to all who celebrate!
Today’s warm up features the titular saint and some extinct creatures of Ireland: Scelidosaurus, Megaloceros and the Great Auk.
Of the three, the Great Auk would have been the only one that the Saint would have lived during his lifetime, as they were common throughout Europe during the Fifth Century.
All the sadder that they couldn’t make it to the modern day.

Pantheons - Zeus and the Ruling Family
A surprise Pantheons update! Featuring Zeus and his Olympians (specifically his wife and his brothers).
The theme for this year is Outremer's neighbours, and since Outremer is the biggest faction is the setting, they also share the most neighbours in the Milky Way Galaxy! The first faction of focus is Zeus and his Olympians.
Zeus is the king of the Olympian gods and the leader of the Greek Pantheon. When he was younger, he was much more impulsive and egotistical, more akin to the Zeus of popular perception of the old stories on Earth. Then he warred with Lucifer and his Angels three times and lost all of them.
After a bit of soul searching and some advice and listening to that advice from his family, he decided to try and be a better person, and try to mend strained relationships with his family, though if people needs a reminder he's STILL the law of the land, he's more than willing to show it!
If there's a problem that stumps him and his wife Hera, there's always good ol' reliable Athena to look to!

Hera is Queen of the Gods and Goddess of Marriage and Family. Much like Zeus, she's a much different goddess than the one who made Hercules' life miserable centuries ago. She know tries to use her position as a way to mend in-family conflicts AND those of her subjects.
It doesn't matter if a family is by blood, or found or from community, each one can appeal to Hera for help.

Poseidon is the god of the Sea and of Earthquakes. Big, Strong and Imposing, he feels like he's the only serious one in the family, now that everyone seems to be changing. He's the local curmudgeon who doesn't seem to like that the world around him is changing.
The gods are acting more like mortals in both personality and words. Perseus hooked up with MEDUSA of all people!

Hades is the god of the underworld, and doesn't talk or visits much, as he typically prefers to stay home, a subdimension that's part of a much larger extradimensional realm accessed only by death entities.
Despite this, he's very much enjoying the change he's seeing in his family, and feels more comfortable hanging out. If only Poseidon wasn't such a curmudgeon.

Note: This is actually a BIG piece of misinformation/clickbait on IGN's part, especially since it was debunked like... Two years ago.
Even in the original paper, it was proposed of three different Tyrannosaurus species, that included rex as one of them.
It's one of the biggest sci-comm fails of this year imo, and just really showcases, to me at least, and a case of EXTREMELY irresponsible reporting. It's hard enough for science to get through to the general public without the "help" of people who don't delve deeper into the topic they're referring to.
