MONDAY 16TH JANUARY 2017 - 3D/STILL LIFE FOOD PHOTOGRAPHY PHOTOSHOOT

Since part of our project has to include a 3D aspect, we were given an introduction to food photography to give us an idea of how we can create different compositions as well as using lighting to create the most effective shot. I’m quite happy with these outcomes because the backgrounds are quite white due to a good use of the lighting equipment and taking it into Photoshop and making it brighter. This session was really helpful to me because I have a few ideas of what I can do for the 3D portion of the project and have a greater understanding of how I can use the lights to my advantage. Another reason why we did this photoshoot was to give us some more cultural awareness and understanding of different culture’s foods in comparison to ours. We also had some pots and bowls that were relevant to the different cultures as well which was quite interesting. I brought in chopsticks and a Chinese style bowl although I didn’t use them in my pictures because there were already enough props that suited what I wanted to do.

Plymouth HE Research Trip

A terrific day exploring Plymouth. Visiting the arts programmes and listening to programme leaders in fine arts, illustration, graphics and more. Looking at the great facilities and courses at Plymouth College of Art and University of Plymouth. Also visited the Box museum and then chips on the Barbican with the seagulls and fishing boats.
