Birth of a Fox Plush!

Watch one of my plush grow from uncut fabric to final photos.

Video description: stop-motion animation of a fox plush being made. Faux fur pieces in black, silver and bright ginger orange get cut, move into a fox shape, attach bit by bit, get turned inside-out for final sewing, turn right-side out and get stuffed, eyes, shaved ears, painted, closed up, and then set up in front of a white board, finished. 101 pieces from 19 different fabrics (17 faux furs and 2 vinyl) went until this fox. It took me twenty-some hours to complete over a month's time, possibly longer to account for all the camera angle fiddling.

This was my first stop-motion video so I definitely learned some things! This is my usual order of assembly for plush, though not every step was captured, in part because I wasn't sure how to do so or it would have been awkward. For example you can see I redid the neck, but didn't show the replacement of the piece between the shoulders. But I hope to try this again and get even more of the process!

Have the plushie I’ve been workin on for the last two and a half months But Horrorboros turned out so cute QwQ Took me a long while to make this as I never use a sewin machine for plushies haha xD When I saw this critter in Splatoon for the first time I knew I had to make a plushie of it Inside the “fryin pan” in its mouth is actually a little speaker that will play the scream it makes ingame... not very loudly tho sadly Big thanks to my good friend and assistant who would go out in hot weather to hold the Horrorboros up in front of these neat backgrounds and to lemme use his backpack for the closeup pics!

Hello!

With the implosion of other social media sites recently, I thought I'd establish a presence here and try this place out. If we've met on other sites, hello again! If you're new to my work, allow me to give a quick intro.

I specialize in realistic, floppy, poseable plush made with faux fur fabrics. I've been making plush since childhood, but I've been working with faux fur since 2014. My favorites to make are canines, felines, and mustelids, but I make all sorts of wildlife.

I'm an animal nerd and love to create true-to-life, life-size replicas of real species and natural color variations, but I do stray from realism from time to time! I really love fantasy as well. My plush-making journey started out with dragons after all, and someday I'll get back into making them.
