Maserati Bora Design Proposal, 1969, by Frua. Shortly after Citroën took over Maserati in March 1968, the new Maserati general manager Guy Malleret proposed to his chief engineer Giulio Alfieri the production of a 2-seater mid-engined sports car. Commissions for the design of the bodywork were placed with the two Turin design studios of Pietro Frua and Giorgetto Giugaro (the fledgling Italdesign). Italdesign won but this was Frua's unsuccessful styling proposal, a painted clay model.
