Meeting Rhys at NYCC next month & I’ve been thinking of how to succinctly express my appreciation for him & Stede getting me out of a major lengthy funk last year with this goofy little show.

I think I’m going to show him my Gentleman Pirate tattoo on my wrist & tell him that I got it bc sometimes his silly little voice will pop into my head like “Hi all! Nice to be here!” and a big grin comes over me. 😁

My little polite menace serves as a reminder that if someone returns from the (doctors appointment) mentally devastated, we’ll talk it through as a crew. 🏴‍☠️🏳️‍🌈

P/W: Was planning on just shooting for fun because I've got 2 maybe 3 shows I'll be reviewing over 4 days, and [BAND] is right at the start of that. Would that be possible?

M: When you say "shooting for fun", does that mean you aren't reviewing the show and just shooting pics for the "fun" of it? We have limited space in the photopit so if you're just shooting for fun, I'll have to prioritize those photographers who are on assignment and then let you know if there is space in the pit. I also won't be able to get you on the guest list, so you'd have to supply your own ticket if I can get you a photopass. TBH, that show's list is packed with photographers on assignment, so I most likely won't be able to get you credentials if you're not planning on publishing the pics. Just a heads up.

P/W: So you're saying that I, a professional photographer, may be denied a ticket and a photopass to a band who I don't even like that much because you have TOO MANY people on your guest list? Sounds more like YOU'RE [sic] problem than mine. You need to cut down the list.

Cleaning up my office I found this laminate. 2012 Lowlands festival. I was to late to get my photo-pass to shoot FooFighters live. ‘Computer says no’ was the answer. You’re to late….. 😡 as I was I ran into Marco Witkamp. He works with FooFighters. He did ask me to come backstage…. There was a golden album the band would receive. ‘Can you make some photos’ he asked? My anger was gone in a second 🤩 We went to see the band. Made some photos….All good. Then Dave came up to me. Space Mountain and part of the old people mover track

While a lot of elements of space mountain need a refresh (please Disney update the queue video) I think that the building is so iconic and beautiful… especially since it isn’t the bronze that it was from my childhood (shout out to that weird pseudo-steampunk phase Tomorrowland went through)

The peoplemover track from that angle on the other hand… Something about it makes me think of an old office building or something, it’s probably the windows and the way they are kinda tinted and discolored.
