#1 thing i'm most afraid abt in the revival is the candace characterization actually bc we are in a paradox here

fact: candace's endless torment was part of the backbone of the show, one of the constants that kept the plot structure going. phineas and ferb must always do something new. candace and doofenshmirtz must always lose. any exceptions to these rules can't be permanent. status quo must be upheld.

fact: candace against the universe's character development seemed to finally be breaking this cycle. candace isn't alone anymore, she's letting go of her obsession to see the support that was always there for her and thus she's escaped her sisyphean cycle. to go back to the old status quo after this would be massively unsatisfying.

fact: the reboot is supposed to take place AFTER candace against the universe.

so what do we do now

#i almost deleted this it didnt super feel like i have a point to make but i went to the effort of typing it out so.#i mean the solution seems to be to have candace join in with her brothers in the reboot but im worried the show wont break that status quo #like that change would be really huge i just dont know if theyll do it #but if we backpedaled on the events of candace against the universe it would be a huge loss and just really tiring to go backwards #idk man. idk #phineas and ferb #candace flynn #pnf tag #harold.txt

This Incredibly Stupid Dream I had last night about an adult-oriented, space opera Phineas and Ferb Reboot/Sequel series that took place in the future

So, in this stupid dream, I discovered that they did a new Phineas and Ferb but it's adults only. Despite the show having done future episodes before, this show follows a completely different future where people are living in outerspace. Like. In Star Wars.

Ferb and Baljeet are both reimagined/shown as transgender women. Ferb became a femme fatale who seduces space aliens for her own personal gain. She still rarely talks. Also for some reason she's blonde now.

Baljeet became a rich socialite and also is a powerful gunslinger. I recall a scene of her at the opera where she yelled about how terrible the modern renditions of these classic songs/pieces of music were and how they added all these unnecessary notes and then she forced the musicians to change what they were doing.

I remember a subplot about Phineas looking for Ferb cause he always carried around this photo of her (pre-transition) at school looking depressed, and I think Doofensmirtz was being gay with Perry or something, and Candace still lived with her mom back on earth and was really bitter and crazy and just ranted to her about random things while her mom half listened and did the dishes.

For some reason the show was incredibly well written- like, on the same level of if not better than Arcane, and it was also really funny and addicting. (like, that's what my memory in the dream told me. I don't have any examples.) Also the art direction and animation were really good, like it looked like the cartoon but they had these huge, sprawling environments for the space stuff and like. It just looked really pretty.
