apologies for yosukeposting and especially incoherently but slowboiling in my brain whatever the hell was going on w him in kanji’s dungeon. guy who slingshots between some kinda fraught observation that this is so much worse for kanji because it’s happening in front of an audience (over like. freaking out about it), furiously asserting that he’s heterosexual, insinuating danger but then also being the one who volunteers to take kanji home afterwards.

It’s sooooooooooooooo.

Okay so like

Can we talk about what exactly the people of Barbie Land are??

Weird Barbie seems to indicate, both by existing the way she does and by telling Barbie, that each of the people in Barbie Land are linked to their real-world dolls, and their Barbie Land counterparts can be affected by how people play with them, and what happens to their doll line in the real world, and vice-versa.

Although, it’s really strange, because it’s not like there’s a Barbie for every individual doll out there. Every person in Barbie Land seems to represent a certain broad archetype of doll, which seems to represent either all dolls of a certain line of character, or modes of play that the dolls are commonly made to participate in.

Some of these people seem to have a much broader reach than others of what dolls they represent too. Like, like, the Barbie we follow, aka “Stereotypical Barbie”, seems to be a manifestation of the most common idea of Barbie doll that encompasses the overwhelming majority of Barbies made, then you have Barbies like Pregnant Midge or the other discontinued Barbies that only seem to represent one particular line of doll.

If I had to make a guess, and I think the movie does sort of imply this, each person in Barbie Land seems to be a manifestation of collective ideas and perception of their respective doll lines. If any of you played Persona 5, you could maybe think of Barbie Land and its’ people as kind of like Mementos, where the perception of the collective consciousness can have various effects on the world of Barbie Land.

And like Mementos apparently it can go both ways as well if stuff starts to get distorted. Ken changes Barbie Land to Kendom Land, and it seems to completely alter the Barbie line in the real world. And given the panic of the executives, it seems like this isn’t even the first time that’s happened.

Guess who’s thrown goro akechi and akira kurusu into my siren au world.

Maybe I’ll doodle the ideas later but I’m getting them out there before I forget:

Akechi is a hybrid, half siren half human. He’s basically hiding out as a human because he’s trying to take his father down (who is human shido gets no perks because fuck him)

Akira is human but knows a lot about siren and other creatures both because he finds the study neat and he just keeps running into and befriending them and is just a trusted human among the community. (Some of the other phantom thieves might also be critters I do love a reason to explore more ideas with kelpie and sealkie and so on)

They’re still in Tokyo but since there’s not really an ocean nearby akechi has a bad time because hybrids need to stay hydrated, also if he touches water scales pop up so extra reason to wear gloves and all that.

Idk the details or if phantom theif shinanigins ever happen but I do have a scene of akechi and akira going out but a surprise rain hits and akechi is containing panic because he didn’t bring an umbrella and rain is really bad when you’re trying to hide the fact your part siren. But akira offers him his coat and his place which is closer and idk shinanigins ensue.

Definitely think akira knew akechi was a hybrid a while because yeah uh anyways I’m going back to playing persona 5

Istg I actually need to sit down and write a proper bio for Riku because even I get confused af as to what his personality is sometimes.

i'm gonna be so honest: if you don't like the in between portions of persona, you're prooobably not going to like this game — or the series for that matter. it is a combat rpg, yes, but it's also a life simulation game. that part is just as, if not MORE important as the combat, and it's not going to get better for you if you dislike it that bad. i'm sorry :'>

you underestimate the amount of tedium i can deal with for the sake of a good story

#i played and enjoyed ace attorney investigations. just because i dislike an important aspect of gameplay does not mean i will hate the game #ive said it before but story goes before literally everything else for me. i could play a game with the most dogshit mechanics in the world #and it wouldnt matter to me as long as the story was good and kept me engaged. which persona 5 is definitely doing so far #i dont even HATE the inbetween stuff i just think its tedious. i can sense that my decisions have weight and that everything is building #up to something important later on so i genuinely dont have that much of a problem with it other than the fact that it's kinda boring #and repetitive. it would be a different story if the inbetweens didnt have any narrative significance but its pretty obvious that they do #so i can deal with the boredom. i am going to complain about it tho bc i love to be a hater #asks

in the prsk white day universe x persona au, there are two main powerhouses in the region.

the kingdom of dahlia and the mages of freedom.

of course there are many other kingdoms, but the kingdom of dahlia is the largest and strongest of them all.

it's a large kingdom with twisting roads and tall buildings. not even those who've lived there their whole lives know their way around outside of the areas they grew up in.

it's a very traditional kingdom where tradition overrules all else. especially during holidays. if you are caught breaking the traditions, you will be arrested by the guards and serve up to two years in the dungeon.

music is especially precious in the kingdom. classical music reigns supreme and none of the nobles, especially king harumichi aoyagi, are merciful whenever they find someone who breaks the rules of music.

the lower-class live in fear of ever being found breaking the rules. families have been separated and broken for many years.

king harumichi rules with an iron fist and it seems his son, crown prince ayumu, will follow in his footsteps. prince fumihito leads the training of the new guards while also being the boss of the white knights. he's also in charge of finding the missing aoyagi prince, toya.

the two major noble families in this story are the otori family and the asahina family.

the otori family is the strongest after the royal family, mostly due to the oldest daughter being married to the crown prince. they are in charge of the entertainment in the kingdom and are usually gone for days, weeks, months at a time, leaving the youngest alone. it is said that she wears a mask for the nobles, doing what they want, yet sneaks out to be with the peasants and be her true self. otori emu with her false brown hair never confirms or deny the rumors

the asahina family are a moderately powerful noble family, but asahina chiyo wants more power. as the story progresses, she becomes closer to the royal family and soon she offers the hand of her young daughter to prince fumihito who agrees. she wants her family name to become the most powerful one in the kingdom. she's so obsessed with her goal that she doesn't notice the marionette she made of her daughter is taking control of her own strings.

the mages of freedom are quite mysterious. nobody knows who is a part of this large group that is against the kingdom.

it's made up of multiple people from a wide variety of backgrounds. from peasants, to merchants, to nobles, to even crown princes and princesses. they all make up the mages of freedom.

their main goal is to destroy the kingdom of dahlia, the center of corruption. many of those who joined the mages of freedom joined because the kingdom ruined their lives in one way or another.

the big five have the most will to enact their revenge no matter what.

kaito- his wife was executed for breaking the rules too many times. he became an assassin to get back at the crown prince who ordered the execution.

miku- her family was a powerful noble family who were imprisoned and exiled for treason, so they say. she was the only one spared. she joined kaito after escaping the kingdom.

kamishiro rui- an alchemist who was once a white knight himself. he's seen the horrors of prince fumihito's orders and what those in the white knights do to the innocent. he'll do anything to stop them.

nobody knows the reasons as to why saki and the dragon tamer joined but everyone knows it's personal.

while they preach for freedom, it does not mean they are free from corruption. far from it, in fact.

they have committed some terrible horrors as well. the slaughtering of villages who didn't (couldn't) break free from the kingdom, the near destruction of many kingdoms, even taking away children from their families.

they are just as bad as those who they hate.

i think that i will never be able to rid myself of Magdalena, despite my disdain for her source material, because she's just such a fun little inversion character 🤧

#not to say that im trying to actively get rid of her! but like.. i have bnha ocs that will probably never see the light of day again because #i dislike bnha 🕴️ and i dislike the reboot way more than i dislike bnha so You Would Think that maggie would have disappeared by now but #nauuur. the inversions will keep her in my brain forever babey 🍻#it's something about the way gioia and vergil knew each other for such a short amount of time and were on completely different journeys but #still managed to Get each other.. the same hatness of it all. and from that we got nero who saved both their lives #meanwhile in nightmare reboot world‚ magdalena and vergil have known each other forever + run parallel to each other basically. and you #think that the whole time they're in lockstep that they get it! they get each other! they're in lockstep so they must be in sync!#but then it turns out the goal vergil has been obsessively dedicated to all along is actually Super Contradictory to the goal magdalena has #been obsessively dedicated to. and instead of their lives being saved by their connection‚ the sudden dissonance is the root of their #downfalls. that's like my own personal fuckin percolator man 🤧🤧#it's fun that she and gioia are both driven by loss and the desire to mitigate it. they both live in these societies where you're constantly #watched and revealing your cards could spell out your doom. ignorance and guilt cause gioia to build up this marble facade of cold #nonchalance because she cannot engage in society Without revealing her cards yk. it hurts too much. so the poker face it is 🗿#meanwhile magdalena Knows Too Much and the knowledge of it all eats away at her. she's boiling with the need to act‚ so a poker face could #never work for her. so she channels the energy into this larger-than-life persona to navigate through the world #and both of these methods work! gioia's facade makes people think she's cold or uninteresting so they ultimately disengage with her.#magdalena dazzles everyone and they're too distracted by the show to notice what she's doing behind the scenes.#but wearing the mask all the time takes a toll on both of them + ultimately leads to a loss of identity‚ where they only keep themselves #grounded by their secret work. gioia's run in with vergil helps her break free of this and reestablish herself #whereas magdalena's departure(s 😐) from vergil sets her down this path... it's just so 🌋🌋🌋 to me #also. it's fun to me that gioia was meant to become a demon but never did. meanwhile maggie detests demons but was forced to become one...#gioia dodged a bullet but it traveled through dimensions and shot her anyways lol 😭🤧#there's something to be said about the flipped family dynamics between the two but ngl I'm still working on Maggie and Isaac's relationship #so. i will leave it alone for now 🕴️in the future though I hope that I can figure out how to make Isaac as relevant to Magdalena as #Benedictus is to Gioia 🤔 right now he's kind of a mystery variable 🙈#sriracha.txt #long post #💃🏻

i was procrastinating thinking about why its so hard to find a quality long sskk fanfic because in my previous experiences i feel like every fandom i've been in has had DOZENS if not HUNDREDS of Pulitzer-level fanfics so i decided to look at the amount of fics each of the fandoms i've written for has on ao3 to see if that explains the disparity

J/J, >15,000 S/D, >33,000 G/R, 108. Total. 2 of which are mine. K/MC, 169. 1 of which is mine. BK/DK, >43000 holy shit G/P, >9000 SSKK, >7000 (remove SKK, then only >4700 remain)

in conclusion i have been incredibly spoiled lol
