s! hi!!! i would adore to talk more about her. she is Everything to me. she’s very runway model-esque. like her cheekbones are unreal and she has this simmering passion hidden behind her eyes that can and will startle anybody that looks her way—especially james. but here’s the thing, she’s selective, very particular about the kinds of people she pays most interest to. she takes One Look at james fleamont potter and is like Mine. sorry i don’t make the rules and james is all flustered, pointing at himself with a raised brow and saying, “pretty, y-yeah, you’re so pretty oh wow. let me just—hi” eyes going all wide and reg, bless her, is just giggling because she knows exactly what she’s doing. of course regulus is gorgeous, no doubt about it, but her brain is Big. like ridiculously so and when she puts her foot down and plays her intellect cards, james folds like a cheap plastic lawn chair because he somehow won the damn lottery. regulus is out here with the brains, beauty, dry, witty humor that makes james’ brain go all fuzzy. she knows what she’s about, and she won’t settle for anything less, especially when james treats her like a literal fairy princess in all her glory.

unpopular(ish) tig opinions/mostly just me ranting

a few people have done this so here are mine (also just me ranting)

this one isn't super controversial but i don't really like alisa. she's nice and all, but the way she treats libby is just so weird to me and i can't bring myself to love her.

most people in this fandom are grayson stans but my fav is jameson. i love grayson, don't get me wrong, but i feel like his character is sort of overdone. i mean, almost all love interests nowadays are moody, broody, i never smile except when im with you. im happy avery ended up with jamie not just cause they fit together, but bc, for once, the love interest isn't the broody type (like i said, love grayson dont hate me)

i commented this under a post, and i don't think this is super unpopular but im lyra neutral. i literally cannot love a character unless i know them (i dont hate her either, i just don't have an opinion)

ok, this one might get me some hate, but, although grayson had the right to be mad in tig bc avery inherited the money, i do think he did go too far sometimes. there's this one time, where he was just unnecessarily rude to avery, telling her she didn't know what it was like to suffer (midway through to book, don't remember the chapter but its there and it makes no sense bc she grew up with no money while this dude is a privileged white man, like all of his brothers (except for xander cause he isn't white)). like i said, he had the right to be mad, but avery did nothing to him, and, so, he had no right to say some of the things he said to her. he does get better, and he does apologize (i think, but even if he doesn't idc cause hes nice to her now). like i said, he had the right to be mad cause i mean he did grow up thinking he'd inherit and he didn't, but he shouldn't have taken out all of his anger on her. he had the right to doubt her and think she had ulterior motives, but he had no right to accuse her of being a gold digger when she had done NOTHING to gray for him think that (dont take this as me not liking gray, he's one of my fav characters ever (but no one beats jamie (and nash)))

idk if this one will make sense and ik some people will agree with me if this does, but the way avery is treated in this fandom is really shitty. she's pretty much only mentioned when people are talking about the love triangle. she's bashed bc she didn't choose grayson (which she had the right to bc jamie was made for her and gray wasn't), her trauma is super overlooked. i wish people would pay more attention to her. also, i mentioned this earlier, but some people (not many but some) let other people (like gray and thea) get away will at the mean things they said to avery bc they're their favorite characters. (obviously, they can be your fav characters. my best friend's fav character is gray, and, when i first read the books, i liked gray over jamie for a small period of time, but its wrong to let them get away things just bc you like them.

people will agree with me, but jameson and grayson's trauma should NOT be compared. trauma is trauma no matter how "bad" it is (note the quotation marks around bad). ive mostly seen people compare jamie to gray saying that gray's trauma is worse which is so fucking mean. they both have trauma. they both have it bad. no one should be comparing. i will make a longer post about this bc this is smth i'm very passionate about and it pisses me off. (ive lost count of the amount of times ive compared my trauma to others thinking i had no right to complain bc others had it worse, so don't do it to fictional characters plsss)

the tiktok/insta fandom sucks. the amount of averygrayson shippers ive seen bash avery on those platforms is too much. the only healthy part of the fandom is on tumblr.

people should not bash people for their favorite characters. i've seen this mostly on older posts (like before tfg was released) but some people will go 'xander's my fav' or 'avery's my fav' and people in the comments would go 'but grayson exists' or 'but jameson exists'. let people like who they want to like. all characters are great (mostly, i hate thea and all of the bad guys).

i couldn't care less about eve's redemption arc. she ruined toby's life, and as someone who loves toby and avery's father-daughter dynamic, i will never forgive her. she also treated grayson horribly, basically got alisa kidnapped (cause alisa wouldn't have gotten kidnapped if eve hadn't gotten toby kidnapped), and more so if she ever does get a redemption arc, i will be throwing hands.

if i see people complaining about lyra's character when tgg comes out bc 'they were expecting someone different' i will be pissed. im sure lyra will be great (hopefully). it doesn't matter if she's a girl boss or a more like rebecca.

grayson is not 'the most misunderstood character in the fandom'. he's literally the most popular character. people are constantly gushing about him and his trauma. other characters like avery, jameson, and xander (and others) are so much more misunderstood. no ones takes the time to understand them like they do with grayson. people are constantly talking about his trauma, and how people shouldn't hate him bc he's 'misunderstood'. people have the right to hate him, and his trauma isn't overlooked as the fandom's most popular character. he is a complex character, and i will be making in depth posts about him bc i find him interesting and i really like his character, but he's the most understood character in the fandom. i've noticed that people tend to say he's misunderstood right after coming up with the most nonsensical take defending all of his actions saying that he has trauma (trauma is not an excuse its an explanation)

even if grayson would've gotten up to help avery after the bombing 1. he would've never gotten there on time and 2. he might have gotten more hurt.

ik i mentioned gray a lot in this and it might seem like i don't like him, but i swear i LOVE him. i find his character very interesting and complex and i really wanna analyze his character once i'm done rereading. i just hate toxic grayson stans (most of yall aren't, but they exist)

There I was, so confident my married acespec ass could easily write and sell a version of Alastor where his ace identity is still intact but he is also still in love. I know very well what it's like to not care for romance or relationships in anyway and then one day find myself like "aww fuck, I actually love this girl. Welp, she's mine now." That's the vibe I've been trying to give Alastor through this entire fic and I feel like it's gone well.

And then I get to the chapter where I have to write their wedding. And you guys, writing his vows is more stressful than writing my own was!

Here are some crumbs of terukaneaoi and natsukane!

terukaneaoi first:

When Teru says he wants to date the Aois, that's what he means, he has minimal experience with friendships and zero with romance, is all new and exciting and interesting. Aoikane on the other hand are very serious about romance, if they accept to date someone is because they expect a lifelong love, a marriage, which has always been more connected to politics than love to Teru. So when Teru accepts dating them, he is unaware he proposed/accepted their proposal.

Aoi can't do her hair well with her numb hand, and Teru is the one to always offer to help, usually giving her twin tails like he does with Tiara and other simple styles. Akane is the one Aoi goes to when she wants something fancy, cause he spends hours learning and perfecting complicated hairstyles for her.

Teru likes to call every hang-out a date, cause it gives him an excuse to dress up, and he rarely gets opportunities to use his nice yet very unprofessional clothes.

They are all weak to combo attacks. If Aoi and Teru want the same thing, Akane will cave in, if Akane and Teru want the same thing Aoi will cave in, and if Akane and Aoi want the same thing Teru will cave in.

Aoi has problems saying "I love you", it feels too heavy no matter how many times it's said to her, or how confident she is that her feelings are returned. She finds it easier to say "We love you"

Natsukane:

Natsuhiko would be stuck in one-sided pining hell for a while and be completely caught off guard when Akane started getting attached. Akane won't even notice his behavior is changing, but Natsuhiko is VERY aware Akane's dismissive "shut up, get out of my sign" turn into him rolling his eyes but actually paying attention to everything he says, and making fun of pickup lines from months ago or teh way Akane doesn't react when Natsuhiko wraps an arm around his shoulder or act clingy either. Natsuhiko is very visibly delighted and emboldened by this.

Natsuhiko is okay with a lot of things frowned upon, like trespassing, flirting with many people at once, hurting people, drinking alcohool underage, and such. He tries to be a 'cool bad guy' to impress Akane but he just gets disgust for his efforts, which turns into worried lectures once they are closer and Akane start caring about his well being

Natsuhiko thinks they are dating way before they are actually dating.

Natsuhiko is very self-centered, his 'perfect' dates and romantic gestures involve things he personally likes and he rarely thinks about his date preferences, but he is not picky about affection, he loves being loved and spoiled above it all. So he'll be shocked when Akane want to go somewhere he knows Natsuhiko loves, absolutely smitten about it.

old king cole is explicitly warped by immortality (never to forgive he would eternal live, his hands dyed red by gore - can be read a few ways depending on where u place the emphasis, but at the very least communicates that his wrath is facilitated By his immortality), and the olympians commit attrocities in order to hold onto their wealth and the immortality that it grants them (murdering arachne, yanking heracles' chain the second he tries to go freelance, having a monopoly on the acheron etc). the value they put on immortality and living forever, and the fear they have of ever possibly losing it, has completely warped their morals and priorities.

and while it comes up less in tbi, there's still significant emphasis placed on how odin has been in power for a century (both thor + the narrator bring it up, and there's also an emphasis on how long ago the bifrost project was started, and how 'no one left living' can explain its science). her villain monologue in rangarok iv places the extinction of asgard as an honour - a ruin that no one can possibly rebuild from is called 'apotheosis'. and as she says at the end, the idea that no one can possibly outlive her is a key draw for odin. asgard dies with her.

in hnoc, the only really immortal character is brian (and we only really know that bc of knowledge we get from outside the album), but the axis of life and death as a privilege vs a curse is still very present. 'mordred's gift to Arthur could be love in his own eyes / fating him alone to keep the life to which he clings', not only posits that the gift of survival isn't inherently good + kind (which the audience would immediately recognise as love, not possibly love), but places emphasis on the fact that arthur is now utterly alone. the station's death at the hands of mordred is hardly a happy one ('Its people damned, doomed by a man who's lost all his regrets'), but arthur's fate is arguably worse. severed from the finality and closure of death, what does he become? [insert that one cool theory abt hnoc arthur becoming old king cole here]

it's like. on a meta level, the reason we as fans don't put much emphasis on the depravity + cruelty of the mechs is bc the people portraying the mechs are all charismatic + skilled performers. in live gigs they're all portraying the fun side of their characters - roasting each other, bantering with the audience, making fun of the characters they're singing about, referencing off-screen violence - bc if they portrayed their lore too literally they'd be comitting felonies LMAOOO

but narratively, its like. literally every album is a meditation on the ways that the glorification of immortality can ruin civilisations - can ruin galaxies. whether its rooted in the fear of you specifically dying, or of being outlived, or overpowered or forgotten, or if its done for the sake of someone else's survival... it's all corrosive. if u refuse to accept the indisputable impermanence of life, you lose the ability to value it, and u numb urself to the reality of just how fucked up it is to cut another person's life short for any reason.

like. i do think some of the mechs started as good people, and some of them even might still have ethical standards, but i REALLY cannot stop thinking about how fucking. fascinating it is that this group of immortals who are KNOWN for basically considering nothing but how fun and/or violent any given activity will be, have basically filled their entire discography with songs about how their continued existence is corrosive and brings tragedy + ruin wherever they go.

so how self-aware are they? do you think those old morals + ethics still linger in their mind, when they're writing down these tragedies? they willingly self identify as liars + thieves + bastards, etc etc, and they seem to have no trouble identifying the 'bad guys' in the various albums (ie: humanising snow + cinders + rose, but not king cole), but do those concepts actually mean anything emotionally, or even theoretically, for them all beyond their dramatic potential? do they remember their lives before they were mechanised as it actually happened, or do they remember it as lyrics to a song? is it possible to be entirely self aware abt ur own capacity for violence (as jonny in paticular claims to be), if you no longer relate to violence as anything other than a narrative device - a means to an end, whether comedic or dramatic?

i wish k-12 education did better at helping kids find what they were actually passionate about alongside basic education. like yeah yeah all kids need the basics in math, science, english whatever but there's so little ability to explore new and interesting subjects outside of like the few electives you may be able to squeeze into your high school career at the very least. like the US education system has always needed a revamp, but it needs to include more ways for kids to just explore stuff.

HC : SAIYAN ANATOMY

it makes sense for saiyans to be so human-looking. as a bipedal primate mammalian species, alot of human traits was of course, inevitable. yet they still have distinct enough features compared to humans that they are noticeably different- to not mention the obvious taxonomy that would influence these changes. it's very possible that both humans and saiyans had a common biological ancestor, but split due to numerous factors on their individual planets that lead to saiyans being classified as monkeys and so powerful in the scale of the universe, while humans classified as great apes and so weak in comparison to the scale of the universe. of course just simple taxonomy isn't the only thing that's all different about them.

speaking on their environmental factors, saiyans had to evolve to compensate for the harshness of both planets sadala and vegeta- they had to adapt to the gravity that was considered ten times more dense then galaxy standard gravity. their bodies grew massively in strength- with their muscle tissue and the bones in their skeletal structure growing stronger and denser, which not only made them stronger, but also far more durable then most other races in the universe. they even developed a small regenerative healing factor, as the constantly combative and aggressive nature of the saiyan species required for their bodies to be capable of taking more damage, and to in turn, adapt their bodies to that damages- which lead to the biological enigma that is the zenkai boost.

speaking more on saiyan's durable physiology, saiyans also grew to develop a wider, stockier ribcage- those bones being especially strengthened and dense compared to the rest of the skeletal structure- which leads to a saiyan's unusually wide and heavily built bodies. what these ribs are for is not just increased protection of the torso, but to also protect a saiyan's two hearts. both hearts are in the same area in the upper left of the torso. with the greater heart doing most of the work in pumping oxygen and blood through the body, while the lesser heart is much smaller and connected near the bottom end of the greater heart where it, for the most part, applies the same function to a lesser extent and leeches nutrients and recycles a small amount of waste product that the greater heart produces- which in turn assists in a saiyan's much greater amounts of stamina than other species. another function is serves, is a temporary back-up heart. should a saiyan's heart be punctured, stop working, etc- the second heart will fire up in rapid production, continuing the pumping of blood and oxygen in the brain and body without even a moment of lag in between, though of course to a lesser extent. should a saiyan be given time to recover from this grievance injury, there is potential for the greater heart to repair itself to a degree, though in most cases, the saiyan will die due to blood loss or cardiac failure from the lesser heart not capable of keeping up with the body's functions.

saiyans also sport one of their most distinct monkey-esque qualities- their tails. the tail is essential to the saiyan body plan. it applies extra balance to their heavy frames, acts as an extra limb for either leisure or combat, and provides the gateway into the oozaru transformation as well as true mastery over the super saiyan. the tail is almost fully autonomous, as it is connected to the body through the somatic nervous system, which impacts reflexes. the tail is the limb that has the most nerves in the saiyan body, which leads to it being so sensitive and when untrained, will drastically shut down many other nerve endings within the body once grabbed. yet once the tail is trained, the sensitive nerves become gradually more hardy and durable- no longer leading to paralysis upon being grabbed. the tail will also reflexively maneuver and dodge out of the way of attacks aimed specifically for it, making it quite difficult to cut off and cripple the saiyan.

saiyans also have many other distinct monkey-like attributes. such as massive upper and lower canine teeth, usually around 3 inches in length on the average saiyan, with loose cheek pouches in their mouths to sheath into upon closing. their jaws produce a bite force of around 5500 PSI, much stronger than most species and can easily tear through flesh and bone. their stomachs are strongly acidic with an effective digestive system that allows for the consumption of skin, hair, hooves, horns and bones. this all combined shows that saiyans are adapted for a heavily protein-based diet, yet saiyans are strictly omnivorous and will happily consume fruit and vegetative foods as well. these adaptations impact them greatly when they need to survive on worlds outside of their own- preying upon the local flora, fauna.... and civilized population.

like many other monkey species as well, saiyans have prehensile feet. able to grip, throw and punch with them just as well as they are with their hands. though in most cases, they primarily went unused- as most saiyans wore shoes to protect against the rocky, heated ground and sand from their desert planet.

finally, saiyans gained a very specific evolutionary trait that was gained from their primarily combative life style and hostile environment- slowed aging. saiyan children remain rather small and compact through early childhood well into adolescents- at this time is where the saiyan will eat the most they can and have their body build up as much strength as possible. then on the precipice of young adulthood, the saiyan will drastically grow in both height and strength- on average to about six feet in length. from there they will remain that height and physical appearance for a majority of their lifespan for the next six or seven decades. this is so that the saiyan remains in peak fighting condition for a long period of their lives. though around the ages of 50, a saiyan will begin to have a slow and steady change in their physical appearance in that their hair will slowly change from black to brown in color. this phenomenon is called "browning", and is a signal that the body has begun preparation and adjustment for the final cycle of saiyan life- rapid aging. after a life time of consuming and burning massive amounts of bodily energy, injuries, and scars- at around the ages of 70-80, the saiyan's body drastically lowers its production rate. the second heart stops its functions completely, the fat and nutrients in both bones and muscles have begun to be repurposed for slow energy maintenance in the body, and the brownish-black hair on top of the saiyans hair begins to rapidly grey and turn white over the next few months and years. the saiyan will be unable to even turn super saiyan, as it will apply too much strain on the body- and their power will rapidly decrease downwards until it stabilizes averaging monumentally lower than it was in their prime. it is rare for a saiyan to ever reach this stage in life, as saiyans tend to often die in battl, and those saiyans that do manage to reach this stage are celebrated and revered as legendary warriors of their species, or social pariahs that are shunned for their cowardice for their last few decades.

Something that bothers me about some pokémon fans is when I see people say things like “there should be a female version of gyarados”, “milotic is technically the female version of gyarados”, “there should be a male version of delphox”, “there should be a male primarina”, “gardevoir can be male?????!!!” it’s so fucking annoying. These pokémon don’t need painfully stereotypical gender differences. Gyarados can be female. The only difference is the whisker colors. Milotic can be male it’s not a “female version” of gyarados. The only sexual difference in milotic is the length of its “hair” things. God forbid delphox is just a smidge feminine, there has to be a male version 😱😱😱😱 /s. Just cuz all gallades are male doesn’t mean it’s the “male” version of gardevoir. There are male gardevoirs. Even mr. mime and mr. rime have a 50/50 chance of being male or female. Fan made “gender differences” completely miss the mark too. They always lean into stereotypical gender shit giving charizard hair and boobs for example. Canonical pokémon “gender differences” are more natural, being sexual dimorphism. A lot of it has to do with plumage, horn length, whisker length, coloring, number of spots, etc. much more naturally based than whatever “female charizard” you annoying fucks desire. There are very few that leans into gender stereotypes and all have good reasonings. Frillish and jellicent are based on stereotypical rich snobs being all frilly the male being blue and the female being pink, it’s due to its design origins. Same with indeedee. The female ones being based on maids and the male ones being based on butlers. Wobbuffet has a rather jarring sexual difference but even that has its probable reasoning. It’s known that it’s blue body isn’t its true body with it instead being a decoy, and how the “tail” is the true body. Imo I don’t think wobbuffet has true sexual dimorphism. The tail is always the same but the decoy bodies of the female ones have lipstick. I’m a firm believer of the wynaut and wobbuffet being unown in disguise theory. But either way, the wobbuffets could try to look “normal” so others don’t recognize the blue body is a decoy. Maybe some have noticed a lot of human women wearing lipstick and copies that in attempt to come across as normal. Whether it is an unown or not, I still think that reasoning makes a lot of sense. Not to mention the pokémon that only have one gender. Like jynx and froslass for example. They’re both based on yokai, very similar yokai at that. Jynx being based on Yama-uba and froslass being based on Yuki-onna, both of which are snowy yokai women. Jynx has breasts while froslass doesn’t and I believe the reasoning is cuz Yama-uba is commonly depicted nursing a pink baby (most likely what smoochum is based on). But Yuki-onna isn’t associated with anything like that, hence why froslass doesn’t have breasts. And those that have female/male counterparts like volbeat and illumise. Volbeat is a greaser and illumise is a diner waitress which was a dynamic made popular in the… 50’s I believe? Pokémon almost always have their sexual dimorphism based in nature, and for the ones that are based on gender stereotypes instead have good reasoning to be that way imo. So no. A female emboar with long hair and tits isn’t going to happen, and if it does then it’s clear fan service and pandering to those who think female pokémon shouldn’t be masculine and male pokémon shouldn’t be feminine. Ok I’m done now, this has been bothering me for the past few days lol. This is long and there’s bound to be typos I just don’t feel like proofreading rn. I’ll do that later.
