🍭 : Create a Sim based on a book you enjoyed as a child.

I decided to create Lucy Pevensie from The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe by C. S. Lewis. I went with a practical early 1940s look for Lucy as an evacuee of the London Blitz, where she and her siblings are sent to a country estate.

8) Do you collect anything? If so, what?

I collect wooden nutcrackers, earrings, and shoes.

17) What's the last thing you ordered online?

I hate shopping online so, so much so I avoid it as much as possible. The last actual object I ordered were these limited edition Melissa x Stranger Things collab jelly sandals. Because they were reselling for about $80, but I found them for $12. Merry Christmas to myself. They smell like bubblegum and they are the prettiest gradient! I wore them today and I'm thrilled!

12. what’s your favorite sized household to play with? Haha, well, I can tell you it was not 6 toddlers! I would say 3 - 4 sims is a nice amount for me.

21. who is your favorite sim of yours, and what is their story? I have quite a few favourites, it's really hard to pick just one. One of my many favourites, though, is Anne Reed. Anne was taken in by another family and grew up in Brindleton Bay. She was often mistreated by her guardian and his wife, and they would threaten to leave her in the poorhouse if she disobeyed them. She married Aaron Reed, the son of the local dressmaker. Aaron was a writer and became the Brindleton lighthouse keeper. Together they had one son and one daughter between 1790 and 1802. Her husband died during the war of 1812. After her husband's death, Anne took on the responsibility of tending to the lighthouse. Her daughter married the son of a local shop owner and had 3 children. Her son Henry married Modesty Clements, the daughter of a farmer. Sadly Modesty died in childbirth in 1823; however, their son Timothy survived. Anne continued to live with her son so she could care for her grandson. After Modesty's death, Anne, Henry and Timothy moved to Forgotten Hollow, where Henry was offered a position at the new mine. I don't have a recent screenshot of Anne but here she is as a young adult.

Kirsten’s Surprise: A Christmas Story (American Girl) [Belated Christmas Gift!]

IT IS DONE. It was supposed to be a Christmas gift, but getting the wreath candles to glow (and not blink like airtraffic control beacons!) and then fix a million fiddling things with the dress took a solid week longer than I was expecting. :-x  

Thank you so much to @pancreasnostalgia​ to being my tester and @dancemachinetrait​ for telling me how to fix the brightness issue! Oh and @chippedcupanddustybooks​​ for doing one of the shadow bakes I used for this and teaching me how to do white shadow bakes!

SO. I was obsessed with all things pioneer as a kid (I'm also part Swedish) so I was predictably a Kirsten girl. I got the doll, but my family couldn't afford any accessories or extra outfits or, what I wanted the most: her furniture! So, I liiived for the next AG catalog where I could pine after all the sets that I wanted so badly and beg my parents for it all.

These days I'm nostalgic but still poor... but omg HEY. I can MAKE the sets now! (Even if only digitally)

ANYWAY, here is your belated Christmas/Saint Lucia day present and the first installment of my American Girl Project stuff!

2. which american girl looks the most like you?

Of the historical dolls, probably Kirsten, which is why she was my first doll. (My hair is darker blond than hers though.) I don’t know enough about the contemporary dolls/girls of the year.

9. which girl’s story do you resonate most with?

Currently, I probably relate most to Rebecca’s story, trying to balance family expectations and my own dreams and find out what I want to do in the future.

Just wanted to let you know that I've been enjoying your AG posts! It's been fun to see how our headcanons are similar in some ways and different in others and where our epilogues do/will overlap.

Picked up a wip I thought was a lot further away from being done than it is. Thanks to @pancreasnostalgia for giving me the nudge. This Pueblo Manta is based on the one worn by Josefina’s friend Marianna. It still has a ways to go on the mesh, texture and weights but I’m hoping to have it done this weekend.  Do you like seeing wips or would you rather I keep things under wraps until they’re finished?

Helen’s Diary

1953: It was the happiest day of my life by far as I married my childhood friend and longtime sweetheart Aaron Levy at the local synagogue. All of my loved ones and extended family were in attendance. I wasn’t sure if they’d want to come but I’m glad they did. Since Papa died when I was 19, my brother George walked me down the aisle. I admit, our wedding was pretty rushed after I returned from my time as a volunteer nurse in Korea. It didn’t take too long to plan, but it was worth it! I just couldn’t wait to marry Aaron!

Nabha and Bhumi aged up into children last night! And i realized that almost every single item of prehistoric kids outfits I have are alpha-y and/or... not great. Guys i just wanna be DONE with cas stuff so i can make fun bb things! WHYYY.  ;__; I think I’ll JUST do some recolors (and maaybe she if it’d be much of a PITA to convert my toddler outfits up for kids too) and NOT make any new meshes for this because, while I can do that much fairly quick, it’s the little edits and fixes and stuff that then take a week+ after that, and I just don’t have time.  I really really want to release my “Christmas” set today but @pancreasnostalgia tested it for me and the white texture is even worse on her screen and literally i’ll probably spend all day trying to figure out how to fix it and wahhh. This has been my daily allotted whining time, thank you for your patience.
