P5R PMD AU because i am insane!!!
So I have many a thought in my head and with Spike Chunsoft dangling the idea of a new Mystery Dungeon entry in front of my face this past week I have more thoughts. Especially about the Mystery Dungeon AU's I create with every fandom I join.
So um Persona 5 PMD au (with some visuals).
Also this will contain major spoilers for Persona 5 Royal and Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon.
First, this is a rewrite of PMD Super, because I will not write a new story for this and also because I always see Explorers get the crossover au/rewrite treatment (as it should tbh) and we gotta switch it up!! Now with the main plot not really changing we can jump into the characters.
1. The Heros
The hero role is filled both by Akira Kurusu and Goro Akechi, both being human and both losing their memories respectfully after being isekai'd into a foreign world. These bitches gay, so I think it's funny to throw them into another god killing situation.
The role stays true to the plot, get chased by Beheeyem, get adopted, join the guild, etc. it would just have more banter between characters in between.
Akira:
At first you may think, "Wouldn't Zorua fit better? Isn't that the black and red trickster Pokémon that fits the overall aesthetic really well? Wouldn't it have been cool for an Akiren that could summon fake illusion personas???" Because I thought the same things until I realized I cannot draw Zorua!
I also think even though Floragato doesn't really fit aesthetically, it fits in every other aspect of joker persona. Silly little jester cat.
I also thought Zorua would be too much of an awkward fit in the group just, vibes man, he's too small. Once you see my other picks you'll get it. You get silly little jester cat take it or leave it.
Goro:
STUPID BIRD!! THE CHOICE IS OBVIOUS!! FUCKIN,, CROW MAN!! CORVISQUIRE SWEEP!!
I also made him shiny because it matches his color pallete. Literally easiest decision in the world. I was originally going to go with rookidee but again, too small.
2. The partner
You thought these bitches were doing this shit alone?? NO!! THEY NEED A SILLY FRIEND!! WHO ELSE TO PUT IN THE ROLE OF THE WEIRD ADOPTED ORPHAN THAN WEIRD ADOPTED ORPHAN FUTABA SAKURA!! Also going forward no other character is human, very important pmd shit.
Futaba:
Similarly to the p5 plot, Futaba is still grieving her mom while getting adopted by Sojiro. Wakaba died in an "unfortunate accident" while doing research for a guild on the grass continent. The last thing left in Futaba's possession is her harmony scarf. Unlike p5, Futaba didn't actually see her mom die since she was in Serene Village while her mom was doing research. She still somewhat blames herself for her mother's death but is motivated to find the truth behind it.
Futaba's social anxiety would prevent her from joining a proper exploration team, until of course she gets two new neighbors that are reminded of someone in her and feel obligated to help (THE HEROS FROM BEFORE IN CASE YOU DIDNT GET THAT). Also in Super, the partner doesn't join a team because everyone fucking hates them and I thought wow! That's way too mean! And not in character!! So I changed that.
Anyways JOLTIK FUTABA, SMALL CREATURE. The only one allowed to be teeny tiny.
I originally was planning to go with a Dewpider since I knew for a fact that I wanted her to be a bug type but then I saw Joltik and thought "wow, this bitch has so much mischievous energy" and it stuck.
She'd probably run a support build of some kind in preparation to be backup.
3. Nuzleafs replacement
Takuto Maruki.
If you thought anyone but him I would tell you to replay Super Mystery Dungeon BECAUSE I THINK IT FITS SO WELL.
Also because it's weird that Nuzleaf was like unemployed, I also made Maruki Audinos replacement as the school nurse. He can be in a weird cult and work at the school at the same time.
Yes Maruki is the one who sends our protagonists to hell! After his childhood friend Rumi never truly recovered from an accident, Maruki turned to the help of Yveltal, believing that the limbo-like state is better than suffering for a lifetime. This happiness can be easily achieved if only he had a human that could destroy the barrier on Revelation Mountain, then their plan would be foolproof..
Also important to note that actualization doesn't exist because personas and the metaverse wouldn't exist in Pokémon.
FURRET MARUKI SHAKES YOU. His ass looks normal until he STABS YOU IN THE BACK!!
4. Classmates
Ok I got a little burnt out at this point so I don't have references for these ones but the gist is they're literally just the Shujin guys. None of them would join the exploration team (sorry :() but they would still get little side stories. I also tried to match certain characters with their metaverse powers as a little silly.
Ann: Braixen. Literally makes so much sense. Strong girlboss fire wizard like get it queen!! Fuck yeah!
Ryuji: Luxio but specifically with rivalry instead of intimidate purely because it's funny.
Makoto: Houndour. Honestly went with this because of vibes and also because she counters and covers Haru's weaknesses because I am a Makoharu stan frfr.
Haru: Galarian Ponyta. See Makoto.
Mishima: Please suggest a Pokémon for Mishima. I do not have one.
Shiho: also up for suggestions
Sumire: Eevee. Since actualization doesn't exist, she still knows she's Sumire, but is still strongly advised by Maruki to follow in her sisters footsteps considering she trained her entire life as a performer, why shatter your dreams and pursue something that has the chance to bring you pain? Specifically replaces Espurr in this au since she's being manipulated by Maruki.
Yusuke: Alolan Vulpix. Not part of the school, he lives in Lively Town with Madarame, but he gets included on this list because I have no where else to put him.
Morgana: Purrloin. Isn't in this story like at all because he got arrested for crime. Thought I'd include him anyways.
5. Extra thoughts
I have a few more characters that I know for sure are going to be here. Every change of heart is going to happen but they would most likely get arrested instead (cause no metaverse).
This really is just a self-indulgent mashup of P5 and PMD. The characters still generally keep their arcs even if they aren't as important, the overall plot is just that of PMD Super.

Persona yaoi Pokémon mystery dungeon AU
Team Noble Thief consists of Arsene a sly and attractive Corviknight thief who likes to flirt and Robin Hood a noble and just Decidueye who just wants the best for everyone, they normally investigate theft scenes and supernatural occurrences.
Team Seachaos consists of Captain Kidd a feisty And excitable Dhelmise who loves treasure maps and treasure and Loki, a chaotic and mischievous Obstagoon, they usually hang around the beach areas collecting sea items.
Team Vigilhime consists of Zorro a stoic and sexy Thievul and Goemon a calm collected and smart Frosslas, together they are vigilantes that fight crime, to protect the city.
Can they each realize who’s really pulling the strings? Or will it be to late?

AU where I don't forget I saw this late last night and actually do it when I get home from work. Anyways:
8: Best soundtrack?
If you expected me to say Kingdom Hearts, for once, you're incorrect. Shimomura is a goddess but not a day goes by that some Persona song doesn't live rent free in my brain.
9: A game you turn your volume off every time you play it?
Special shout out to Undertale genocide because whenever I hear the "And nobody came" song I get hit with heavy anxiety but no. There's this one Sonic RPG I played when I was a kid and it has the worst soundtrack possible. I mean the game itself isn't great but it is very nostalgic so I love playing it but listening to its soundtrack at all? Absolutely not. No.
15: Which two games do you think would make an awesome crossover?
I am restricting myself from using KH x SPM (because I explored it) and Persona x FE (because a game already exists with that concept) but honestly I think Pokemon and Animal Crossing would be a real cute combination that should exist.
16: Character you’ve hated most? From what game?
(I am actively ignoring characters who are made to be as unlikable as possible. So characters like the palace holders from P5, for example, are not on this list.)
When actively playing the game? The amount of pure animosity I felt towards Kubo when playing Neo TWEWY is absolutely well warranted and I definitely do not like Lorenz and think hating on him is hilarious.
I really do have to, however, give a special shout out to those characters who the fanbase has absolutely ruined for me beyond repair either because they were everywhere when I just didn't really care about them before that and I got/am so tired of seeing their faces (you can probably guess) or because I got so tired of the woobification towards these characters that I am literally sick of seeing their faces and my once fondness towards them has been permanently tainted and destroyed (You can probably guess) because they absolutely deserve this shout out space more than anybody else. I just will not name any characters in this category because I don't want to die.
17: What game do you never tell people you play?
I mean do you think I have shame? It's more I just don't talk about the game than anything else really. Like I still go back to Rugrats Royal Ransom and Disney Party for example. I'm not really embarrassed by it I just never think to mention it. I guess I was pretty ashamed of DMMD for a while but too many people knew about that one for me to be hiding it.
19: Which game do you think deserves a revival?
In the interest of fairness I will not be talking about PMD or Paper Mario, both of which are still alive series, even if the things I actually love about them are no longer around.
So anyways I can't default to TWEWY since we had a sequel this year so like can we just talk about how much I love Coliseum and XD and would love it if Nintendo released more Pokemon games where I get to catch corrupted shadow Pokemon to rescue because those games were great and I love them.
Also never play XD in a way where you only purify all your Pokemon sans Shadow Lugia by hand there are way to many Shadow Pokemon for that it's a rewarding decision but such a tedious one.

hi hello i’m pretty sure i posted an ad on here like a year ago and forgot about it but anyway
name’s rhy, i’m 24, i recently graduated and now the rest of my crew is busy and i’m super bored while job hunting/doing personal projects. blease rescue me
ANYHOO first off, a few things to note;
Do not look at me, talk to me, or even breathe remotely in my direction if you’re not willing to discuss headcanons or AU scenarios outside the main rp. no, really, i’m serious. I like to get invested in ocs fully, and it’s no fun if you don’t play along.
Honestly if you have to drop, you’re good. Although it’d be appreciated, I don’t necessarily need an explanation. Sometimes people and/or writing styles don’t click. I feel it. I’ve done it myself, and I’m sure you have too. Let’s not beat around the bush on that.
My brain is kind of a dingdong and I’ll have days when I’m too stressed or anxious to reply. Please respect this.
Partners 20+ preferred. Not because I’m particularly X-rated, but because I’m spiritually super old. No offense to the youngins you’re good people too
a short list of things I don’t care about;
The gender/orientation of your character. That’s your character. You pick that. I play a lot of dudes out of personal comfort, but you do what makes you happy, bub. Please offer me the same treatment.
Preplanned ships. It’s fun to talk about the potential dynamics and I’ll gladly indulge you, but I need to see the practice over the theory before I commit. Characters that have no chemistry in forced relationships drain my life essence.
How much you write. No, really. If you can make it compelling and easy to respond to, I’ll take one-liners and pages with equal appreciation. I’m super lazy so short posts give me an excuse to write short without shame lMAO
FCs. In general.I don’t mind if you use ‘em, but don’t expect me to. I don’t get the whole 'preferred fcs’ thing at all honestly I’m a lost cause
and finally, what i’m looking for,
Something Persona-esque would be spicy. I’ve been playing a lot of P5 lately lMAO altho maybe more on premise than canon, i’m only up to the 3rd palace. ryuji’s my good boy
Rune Factory or Stardew Valley-esque settings are A++
Or, i guess to translate that, I’m really feeling modern fantasy stuff but in rural settings instead of cities
Something involving angels and demons, but more on the line of like, Good Omens. I’m too old and tired for edge out the starting gate
I haven’t done Dragon Age in, um. an Age. I’ll gladly pick it up again for the right person tho
Never in my life will i say no to Pokemon
it might be neat to do something like humanized PMD with enough finagling. I just really like the premise of exploration/rescue teams ok
The same goes for Fire Emblem-esque premises. That said, as much as I appreciate some of the dynamics, OCs only please! We can build our own army lmao

The ocean filled his ears, and his mouth apparently as he spat the salt water onto the beach next to him. " Where am I?" He rubbed his hand on the back of his head, "I remember..." His nose scrunched up as he tried to recall last night. "Nothing." He sighed. He decided to glance around at his surroundings, he was at a beach, it was almost sunrise and the sun bled gloriously across the golden sands. Bubbles poured over the horizon, giant, weird looking crabs seemed to be the source. He looked down at his hands, gasping when he realized they're paws, white paws. He reached up to tuck hair behind his ear to find out that they weren't there, instead there was fuzzy... Things hanging from the side of his face and he had short cat like ears at the top of his head. He scrambled over to the water to look at his non human face, it was dog-like with a red brown marking across his muzzle. "What is going on?" He heard groaning from his left. Glancing over, he saw a black cat? It seemed oddly familiar...
"Oh god, did Ohya slip something in my water last night?" The cat complained and sat up. "No, I don't think Ohya would do that to me," he chuckled. The cat jumped when they saw him. "What are you?!"
"I think I could be asking the same question, I could offer my name if it would help."
"Kurusu, Akira" the cat took the lead, as always.
"Akira?!" It was his turn to jump as he remembered why he looked so familiar, "it's me Akechi!"
"Akechi!" Akira's cat eyes widened "I thought you were dead!"
That's right, the last things he remember was death and then a blue butterfly. "Then I woke up here..." He put his paw to his chin. "Funnily enough I don't remember anything besides that. All I remember is that you where something of an acquaintance."
"That's all I really remember too, but I have a lot of really fuzzy memories, the word Pokemon is stuck in my head though." Akira looked as his reflection in the water, playing with the longer part of his fur with his red paws. "Let's get out of this cove, maybe we can find the others."
"The others?"
"Other Pokemon, like us." Akira stood up and made his way to a cave hidden in the cliff walls.
"Take the lead I guess."
