What were your thoughts on Owen and Anya relationship?
I’m really not a fan at all.
I don’t mean to judge anyone who likes the pairing and I certainly don’t have anything against anyone who does, but it’s just been one pairing I could never get behind on this show.
Owen harassed Anya for a while and very obviously made her feel quite uncomfortable. She rebuffed his advances for a while because she was clearly not interested…until one night when she was feeling very lonely and vulnerable. Then he proceeded to trash her publicly on “Facerange."
I just didn’t like the messages that sends. It’s kind of like saying that eventually a girl will just give in to you if you pester her for long enough. It also sort of perpetuated this “if a boy [picks on/teases/is mean to] you, he likes you!!" thing that people tell little elementary school girls, and I’ve just always thought that was kind of…not the best message to send.
Their relationship seemed a little better as it went along, I guess, but I just never liked the way that it began at all, and that pretty much soured me on it. Plus, I just didn’t care for Owen. He was very underdeveloped and had little screentime and the majority of his screentime made me think negatively of him.
So…yeah, I’ve just really never liked this pairing at all, but again, I’m not trying to judge anyone who does. I know that some of my followers like the relationship and I don’t want to make anyone feel bad. Thanks for the message! :)
