hshhdghgfhfh jon having an unhealthy relationship with food...............
jon insisting on eating in his car during his lunch break for years after starting at the institute because he didn't want people watching him. jon trying intermittent fasting (with very little success) to try to lose even more weight when he's already very lean. jon weighing himself one morning and not being able to focus all day at work because he gained a pound or two over the holidays. jon always ordering an appetizer instead of a meal when he's dragged out to restaurants with the crew. only drinking water when other people are around, claiming it's because he's sober, but he isnt. jon having to admit to martin that he usually skips lunch when they move into the safehouse. it's only the second time martins ever seen him get misty-eyed. martin having to urge jon to finish his plate because he needs energy for their hike. jon not having eaten certain things like ice cream or cake since childhood because he was told those made him a "glutton" and then rediscovering how much he loves pistachio flavor. jon taking getting a to-go box for his food after only a few bites, but martin actually heats it up for him the next day. jon allowing himself to sleep in. jon no longer measuring his waist. jon no longer being able to see his ribs so clearly. jon no longer having to watch himself all day every day and make judgements about how he chews, how wide his hips are, how many snacks he's had......

what was interesting to me, is that when i expressed to my counselor that I'm a fat person, she replied with "you consider yourself fat?" as if there was another way to describe my body type
i was being negative i think at the time but this is genuinely how i view my body even inmoments of neutrality and positivity

i wish fat sims looked good and its not because fat people don’t look good i am fat i love fat people we are incredibly hot and beautiful and amazing but it’s that the sims (particularly the sims 4) doesn’t REALLY know what fat distribution actually looks like and so without some Very Precise Tweaking every even mildly overweight sim looks, to me, like the beginning stage of an inflation tf comic and not like, you know. me or my fat friends and family. maybe the stylization just isn’t for me i don’t know

making a sin-based dating sim for a certain demographic
Pride is black haired dominant cool stoik who only surrounds himself by the best of the best. Handsome, intelligent, high prestige job, he openly looks down on you at the start
Bad End: Despite the societal labels that deem you low value, he finds himself inexplicably drawn by your weird allure. His affection for you becomes so intense, he decides he must cultivate your potential, reveling in the thought of the transformed, better you he can create and put on display for all to see.
In an unexpected turn of events, you find yourself naked in public, a leash attached to your collar, with your lover proudly leading you through the city. The air is cool against your bare skin, the pavement rough beneath your feet, and the onlookers are curious, to say the least. Despite the unusual circumstances, he radiates pride and adoration, his gaze fixed on you with unwavering devotion.
Good End: He realizes his perspective of the world is toxic and you encourage his shallow mindset. You make him dehumanize real people. Perhaps he casually dismissed his uggo patient and they died horrifically, perhaps your average looks but eagerness to please put a spotlight on flaws he was previously comfortable ignoring. Whatever the trigger was, he knows you're the cause. Regardless of his feelings for you, you're not worth becoming a worse person. He needs time to think.
Time skip to his life married to a plain looking, overweight person (not you) with two mid looking kids. He fights for less uselessly stringent medical training and patient rights. He's never been happier.

Get to Know Me - Sims Edition
I was tagged by @papermint-airplane, who you should follow if you're not already.
What’s your favorite Sims death?
I didn't think I had an answer for this because I don't usually kill my sims...and then I remember that the first story I posted on tumblr was a Black Widow Challenge. I think my perennial favorite is the old pool with no ladders trick, which got harder in Sims 3. But if you put cones and caution tape around the pool while someone is swimming... I mean, how did they miss those warning signs when they went swimming? *walks away whistling*
Alpha CC or MaxisMatch?
For Sims 3 I like Alpha hair, skin, makeup, skin details, etc, but I don't mind a lot of the EA clothes. With the right texture or pattern, some of those things can be really cute. And really...I guess it's the same for Sims 4.
Do you cheat your sims weight?
In Sims 3, no. In Sims 4, it's situational. I don't have an issue with overweight sims. I'm overweight myself. But it drove me bananas when Noa, an active sim who swims every single day for her job didn't lose the baby weight. So...sometimes?
Do you move objects?
Absolutely. It's the bane of my existence that you can't pick up and move sims in Sims 4.
Favorite Mod?
My favorites are all the toddler mods by @thesweetsimmer111.
First Expansion/Game Pack/Stuff Pack?
Livin' Large for Sims 1. I bought the first game for my kids and we just kept going from there. Now, I'm the only one who still plays. My first experience with the franchise goes back to playing Sim City on a Macintosh computer in college, so now you know I'm super old.

Okay, so if we count sims born in-game, then in Sims 3 it would clearly be Keahi Solomon. If that doesn't count, then I'd say Ciaran Delaney. For Sims 4, it would be Travis Stephenson.

I don't think? If I did, it would have been in my Sims 2 era, but I don't remember doing so.
Which is your favorite EA hair color?
My favorite is almost always pale blonde, either Sims 3 or Sims 4. I rarely use it because I'm super aware that I could easily overuse it.
Favorite EA hair?
None of them in Sims 3. In Sims 4, I like the casual side braid.
Favorite life stage?
In Sims 3, it's toddler. All day, every day. Gimme those adorable toddlers! In Sims 4, the baaaaaaabies. OMG. The babies. I can't get enough.
Are you a builder or are you in it for the gameplay?
I haven't gotten the hang of building in Sims 4 yet. Everyone says it's easier but I find it kind of daunting. I enjoy building in Sims 3, but I wouldn't consider myself a builder. Which is a long way to say... gameplay.
Are you a CC creator?
I'm not. I wish I had that skill.
Do you have any Simblr friends or a Sim Squad?
I do have Simblr friends! At least I think we're friends? And I became friends with @papermint-airplane through the Sims 3 sub on Reddit.
Do you have any sims merch?
I don't, but I think my daughter might still have the plumbob flash drive somewhere in the depths of her closet.
Do you have a YouTube for sims?
Trust me, no one wants to see that.
How has your “Sims style” changed throughout your years of playing?
Not a lot, really. I'm still a storyteller (I used to write Sims 2 stories on the TSR community forum) but I'm trying to get better at screenshots.

It's not really worth sharing because I don't do anything online.
Who’s your favorite CC creator?
There are so many that I could make a list, but I tend to return to B5 Studio stuff time and time again. I have the entire Grant Park collection and if I make a house that doesn't have one of their doors, please make sure I haven't been kidnapped.
How long have you had simblr?
I think about a year and a half? I really only started it so I'd have a place to post screenshots that wouldn't get downvoted to hell, and I found a really fun community. Y'all are the best.
How do you edit your pictures?
I have zero photoshop skills so I just try to go for composition, angles, and lighting and hope for the best. Doesn't always work, but sometimes I get some bangers.
What expansion/ gamepack is your favorite?
Sims 3: University, because it has my beloved Jeffery Dean.
Sims 4: Growing Together, because baaaaaabies!

@clouseplayssims tagged me. I only play TS2 (never played TS1, only briefly played TS3 and only played TS4 for about 5 mins), so all answers pertain to TS2!
What’s your favorite Sims death?
Death by Old age. I live my Sims to live a long and fulfilled life. But, playing medieval, my more common deaths are 'death by childbirth' (mod), 'death by starvation', and 'death by fire'!
Alpha CC or Maxis Match?
In my medieval game, I use alpha CC. All Maxis items are hidden, so my game is pretty much 100% CC.
Do you cheat your sims weight?
No. My sims start off either 'average' or 'overweight', and how they change is up to them in game. (Can weight even be cheated in TS2?)
Do you move objects?
All the time!
Favorite Mod?
So many! But my absolute faves are the @sunmoon-starfactory suite of sets. They add so much to historical game play, and I would never be happy playing without them!
First Expansion/Game Pack/Stuff Pack?
I purchased TS2 discs going back to 2006.... I can't even remember the first EP/SP I purchased. I do remember hanging out for the release of Seasons though, and rushing to the shop to buy it after uni classes finished for the day!
Do you pronounce live mode like aLIVE or LIVing?
Live like aLIVE. However, the arguments for live like LIVing are pretty persuasive. You build in build move, and live in live mode!
Who’s your favorite sim that you’ve made?
I love the Sims I'm making for my Elder Scrolls 'hood. Current fave would have to be Wylandriah, a Bosmer elder!
Have you made a simself?
Never. I'm still on the fence about that one. I do find it a little weird putting other Simselves in my game.
Which is your favorite EA hair color?
Red. I'm partial to gingers IRL. I do use Pooklet colours though, and my fave Pooklet reds are Explosive & Pyrotechnic.
Favorite EA hair?
None of them?! They are all hidden in my game and I use CC.
Favorite life stage?
I am really partial to toddlers and children.
Are you a builder or are you in it for the gameplay?
Both! I love neighborhood decorating, building lots, worldbuilding, and playing. Currently still rebuilding my DL folder, and can't wait to get back to building and then playing my Elder Scrolls neighborhood!
Are you a CC creator?
Not at all. I have done a few basic recolours, and I can edit objects very primitively in SimPE. I would love to learn, but lack the time and patience!

Not really. There are quite a few Simmers I chat to, either via email, Tumblr DM's or Discords.

How has your “Sims style” changed throughout your years of playing?
I started with a mish-mash of CC I found on the exchange. Then, started on LJ and fell in with An_nas and Penny Sims, and became very Maxis Match. Then, drifted toward grunge (I miss my grungified Baskerville, it was spectacular!). Then, I took a few years away from Simming and came back fully committed to historical gameplay. My Elder Scrolls 'hood is my 'anything goes' hood, with supernaturals. I also plan an Anglo-Saxon 'hood set in the 800's, and an Anglo-Norman 'hood set in the 1300's. They will both be more 'historically accurate' within the confines of the game.

How long have you had Simblr?
My first post was on 26th October 2015!
How do you edit your pictures?
I use Photoshop... Crop, unsharp mask, add border, occasionally add lens flare. I might use a filter if I can find one I like.

I stopped downloading Alpha CC because semi-realism of some things was clashing with a cartoony comedic tone of the game. To this day I refuse to download things that have English (instead of Simlish) writing on it!

So I was inspired by the Sugar Valentine and Chasing ghosts posts by @stargazer-sims to revisit my own Sims bands because I miss them, so here is the first. Sweet Cacophony, the literal first band I created with The Sims! Their 3 and 4 versions are pictured above! They are from my story Love Drunk which I wrote back in 2013 on Blogger and illustrated with The Sims 3, I did a sequel too called Love Drunk 2.0 which followed the lives of the band and their partners two decades later, along with their children who were all mostly grown up and making questionable life decisions of their own. I eventually rebooted it with The Sims 4 but it was getting pretty dark so I kinda shelved it for a while. I might go back to it but we’ll see, I might even start fresh and try to be more cheery and upbeat lol. Anyway, a bit about the band!
So the rock band Sweet Cacophony was originally called Deadly Nightshade. It comprised of four young men who had been friends since high school; Dexter Maloney (lead vocals/guitar), Ashton Maloney (drums), Andrew Mitchell (backing vocals/guitar/bass) and Jeremy Price (piano/keyboard). Jeremy shockingly quit one day and left them without a keyboard player, Dexter could play so he took it on as well as being the lead singer and guitarist but it was a strain for him as he also wrote their songs. Also it has to be noted that the boys at this point still had day jobs; Ash was a firefighter, Dexy was an artist and Drew was basically a mad scientist who invented things for clients and sold them for a fortune. When Jeremy left, he took their name with him, Dexter was furious as they had gigs booked all over as Deadly Nightshade which Jeremy also stole leaving them in a crappy situation where they would turn up for a gig and were turned away because the “real band” with Jeremy as the front man had already arrived. It was the girl Dexy was madly in love with, Evelyn “Lainie” Robertson, who coined the phrase “sweet cacophony” when describing their practice sessions in their tiny flat and Dexy loved it so much that he made it their new name. Eventually, and by complete accident, the band took on Lainie’s best friend Roxanne Harmon as their new keyboard player and their rise to fame was almost instantaneous! Within months they were a global sensation and toured the world, had number one albums every time they were released and had their name in lights all over.
Music runs in the family as Dexter and Lainie’s youngest son Damon formed a band of his own called Fallen Angels with his cousin (Ashton’s son) James and Roxanne’s son Rory Hayes. Dexter and Lainie’s granddaughter Jazmine, affectionately known by her grandpa Dexy as Jazzy, becomes a solo artist to rival Taylor Swift using the stage name Jazzy in honour of her favourite grandfather, but that’s just a story in my head as I never got there in the real story. Jazzy is the daughter of Keira Maloney (Dexter & Lainie’s eldest child) and Joshua Hayes (Roxanne & Matthew Hayes’ eldest child) who only fell in love when they were twenty and eighteen respectively. Josh had loved Keira all of his life but she teased him for being a little bit overweight as a child, calling him “chubby chops” which upset him. Keira meant it affectionately and never realised until they got together just how much it had hurt Josh, she never called him that again.
So that’s just a little bit about the band, they are very dear to me and I have carried them for ten years, Dexter is probably my favourite OC ever!

If Peter Lorre were in "A Christmas Carol"...
...what role would he play?
(This picture is from The Mask of Dimitrios but I felt his somber expression was apt.)
First, I feel compelled to say that for me, Alastair Sim is "the" Scrooge. He's exceptional. His face is so reflective and nuanced. His voice is resonant and gorgeous. His eyes are like great, luminous soul-windows.
So I'm not replacing Alastair at all, I am just inventing yet another Christmas Carol movie...
But would Peter play Scrooge? I like him as the lead in anything, and this would be no exception; Peter could pervade the atmosphere with remoteness and disdain, a curl of the lip, a sardonic glint in the eye, the unholy amusement at all the poor fools (literally and figuratively) surrounding him. Humanity! Bah! HUMBUG!
And then the gradual dethawing of his icy, padlocked heart, chip by chip, key-twist by key-twist, the torment and loss and longing churned up by the Ghost visits, the final terror-stricken howl, and then - ah, and then! - the utter joy (leavened with care and mindfulness) and rush to make up for all that lost time. It's delicious to contemplate.
But I also find myself quite strongly seeing Peter as Bob Cratchit. The mournful expression as he tries to warm his fingers by the single candle on his desk. The unshakeable good cheer and good personhood that pervades him. The unconditional love for his family and fellow human beings. The heart-wrenching scene over Tiny Tim. The fact that Peter would, indeed, steal every scene he was in. ❤

Incidentally about Peter & the Cratchit role, another reason is because of this anecdote from the biography:
[Vienna, 1933, under martial law. 8 o'clock curfew. Lorre is with his friends & actors in the Majolica Hall, a subterranean Bohemian wine place where they had to get their food after curfew. To keep their spirits up against hearing all the shooting outside and police cars racing around…]
Composer Robert Stoltz said to Peter that it was funny how they always gave him parts where he plays a monster or a Greek chorus kind of thing. Why couldn't he play an important classic part?
Peter: "You are thinking of Hamlet. I know the whole play from
beginning to end, all the parts."
Another person urged Lorre to recite some of the play, yet the others felt funny about that. Screenwriter Walter Reisch said, "After all, he with his shoulders hanging down and the fat face. He was very, very overweight at the time. He looked much older than he really was."
But Peter said: "I want to do it, really. It has been deep in my heart ever since I was twelve. Ever since I ran away from home. Ever since I saw Hamlet with all the great stars of Europe, it has been the great dream of my life. If you will really keep quiet, I will give you a bit.”
Reisch and the others thought it would be nothing but a disaster.
But then:
"He didn’t start with 'To be or not to be,'" said Reisch. "He started reciting the first gravedigger from beginning to end."
After finishing, Peter scolded his audience:
"You sons-of-bitches, you thought I was going to play Hamlet and make a fool of myself. My part is the gravedigger and if I had ever played it on the stage I would have stolen that play. There would have been no Hamlet and no Claudius, no Polonius, no Laertes and no Ophelia. It would have been me."
Reisch said: "It was terrific. After the first lines he got up and took a knife, as if it were the gravedigger’s spade, and he started to dig into the earth. You forgot the shooting outside, you forgot the Majolica Hall, you forgot everything. You forgot Hitler. You forgot Hamlet. You saw Peter Lorre as the gravedigger and that showed to me this guy knew his limitations, and at the same time made the best of his shortcomings, his figure, his funny face, his reputation as a monster."

I'd be inclined to say Peter didn't really have limitations, just what others put upon him.

It's really, really lovely to read this as a serial. No offense to Dickens, who went through a small slice of hell to publish it solely as a novella; my enjoyment is possibly because I'm oversaturated with unrestricted binge access to just about everything else. (I am appreciating "The Peripheral," which is awesome, being a weekly release.)
I had completely forgotten so many devilish lines that you don't get in dramatic readings/movies:
"Don't be angry, uncle. Come! Dine with us to-morrow."
Scrooge said that he would see him—yes, indeed he did. He went the whole length of the expression, and said that he would see him in that extremity first.
And the beauty of lines such as:
The brightness of the shops, where holly sprigs and berries crackled in the lamp heat of the windows, made pale faces ruddy as they passed.

Round 4 - Winter 1 (Years 12 to 14) - The Lipton Family
I rolled the ROS Generator for the Liptons and the Minor Event is simply to take them to a community lot, so at some point whoever is not sick or caring for little Poppy will be heading off to the Nature Park (which is our only community lot so far)!
I'm going to keep the Major Event hidden for now until it comes into play as it's a little... spicy!
I'm also going to try and get Michael to write a novel, which he was supposed to do last round and I forgot too many other things happened.
I loaded in and, just like everyone else this round, the Liptons are sick. Michael has pneumonia and Yara has a cold. I've noticed a pattern that the Sims who are overweight have been getting pneumonia much more easily than the other Sims. I'm not sure if that's an intended effect of the sickness mod I use, or the way I adjusted the BCONs, so I may be having a little look-see at the mod and adjusting it again after this round.
Anyway, they'll be isolating until they're better and only the well people will be going to the community lot!
I don't think those burnt pancakes will necessarily help Yara to recover from her cold...
... but Michael had the right idea. Rest and fluids, rest and fluids.

I really liked the Pride Dating Sim idea, the Bad End is hot and the Good End is one of the finest examples of cuckdom I've ever seen. Holy shit, "Time skip to his life married to a plain looking, overweight person (not you)" God that is just absolutely perfect, Chefs Kiss.
=D Thank you! I was writing more but it was harder to make contrasting "bad" ends and spiritually NTR good ends than I thought. I got through maybe three.
Sloth - You're walking through the gardens and nearly trip over beautiful young man napping on the ground. He apologizes for his indolence (you forgive him), and asks nothing of you except to lay next to him. You find yourself struggling to deny someone so cute. You fight the desire to sweep him up and carry him home.
Good end: You abandon your previous aspirations to utterly devote yourself to sloth. You whisper to him while stroking his hair that you could do this forever. You never wanted more. There's a worrisome tinge of unease to your voice, so you say it louder, though not enough to wake him. You don't want more out of life. This is all you need. You could live like this forever.
Bad End: Basically the good end except you end up rotting alive into the floorboards, though still mobile enough to rub his head. Your brain is pretty much gone, so there's no anxiety about what you could be doing or what you lost. You are his figurative and literal fertilizer. If you could still think, you would think how nice it is to know your lover can't live without you.

🐝Plus Size Love a Body Preset🐝
I have to admit, I am terrified to upload this preset, but it is not because it is the first one I have ever created. I am afraid because of the people who scream, "You are promoting obesity as a healthy thing." I am a plus size person and I know being plus size is not healthy and I am working on losing weight and changing my eating habits myself. I made this preset so I could eventually make my simself. I could never make a sim of myself without it feeling smaller than I am. Once I figured out the program and got used to blender I began to create a preset for myself.
I thought others may want to use it as well, even with all of the flaws that it does have. (Do not use this preset with low tops and the chest is messed up. I am fixing it currently.)
By uploading this I promote body positivity, but I am aware that obesity and being overweight can have negative impacts on your health. I also know that some simmers may suffer from illnesses that make it extremely hard to lose weight, or their medication makes them gain weight. I made this for everyone to feel included in a video game that is about life. If you get offended by overweight pixels you have some issues that your doctor or therapist may need to address.

what do you have under your bed?
This fold-up fake tatami mat that I put under my futon. Also sometimes marbles or small bouncy balls from my cat because if you hide a toy, it makes it brand-new when you find it again. It is apparently also very exciting when your person vacuums them up by accident and erupts in a stream of invective.
favorite candy?
I toggle between peppermint patties and Mounds. Right now it's peppermint patties because 'tis the season blah blah.
describe your favorite shirt.
A plain V-necked, 3/4-sleeve all-cotton medium gray shirt from the ultra chic, super exclusive, boutique artisanal St. John's Bay label at JC Penney's. 😂 Idgaf. I am at baseline an un-fancy person who became even less fancy during the pandemic.
the last thing you drew/doodled was:
The floor plan of a house in a custom world that I won't name because it was a really impossible house to play in, and I drew it out so I could expand the floor plan and make an improved version.
You know those houses that look adorable from the neighborhood screen, adorable in their thumbnails, adorable from the outside--and then you get inside and there are all these 1 x 1 tile bottlenecks because the builder cared more about appearance than function? It was that.
Builds like that make me so upset, and they're everywhere. Build like that for your irl dolls, not the Sims!
are you completely sober rn?
I am, and mostly have been for the last 5 years! I make one exception on NYE, then it's back on the wagon for the rest of the year.
It's the only way to fly for someone like me, who otherwise will decide to celebrate it being Tuesday. Wouldn't Fat Tuesday be even fatter if it happened every week? And Friday, that's mandatory, you've simply got to drink Friday, plus, Thursday is a kind of pre-Friday, isn't it? Yeah, it's Friday Eve! That deffo calls for some shots. Saturday is for pre-gaming with friends, then drinking some more--you wouldn't want to be antisocial--and Sunday there's a big game on that will be way too boring to watch without beer, and--
So. Once a year, and then that once-a-year usually reminds me why once a year is enough (because I don't do moderation).
what's one thing that annoys you more than anything?
I am trying to be less annoyed by things, but I'm still annoyed by enough things that picking only one is a challenge.
But I guess my build mode rant up there fits here too so, that. Oh and hey, I know "cozy" is very in right now, but while you technically can call a 2 x 4 room a bedroom... you probably shouldn't.
have you ever gotten your tongue stuck to a cold pole during winter?
No, I've spent too much of my life in the sunbelt for that to be a thing for me.
if you could be anywhere in the world right now, where would it be?
I know it's a cliche, but Paris. I am exactly the kind of tourist they hate--I dress terribly (see above), I butcher the language, I'm overweight, I'm basic in every respect--but I find their disdain for me absolutely adorable (and tbh somewhat justified) and my God, the food.
what was the last single word you spoke?
"Safe." I always end my goodbyes to people with "drive safe."
