Ough ough ough this is such a cute ask!! Thank you 🫶 Decided to do individual Valentine’s HCs, before you and them are officially items~

Hailey: absolutely pissed if you don’t initiate taking her out on a date. You can protest all you like that she acts like she hates you half the time, but it doesn’t matter. Hailey dresses you up and drags you to a cute lil diner anyway, grumbling about how she has to do everything herself. If you are the one to ask her out, though, she gets super smug about it. Either way, she takes a bunch of pictures of you and her, but implies she’s only your Valentine out of pity on her socials.

Rayleigh: wakes up early and waits outside of your dorm room just to be the first to give you a Valentine’s card— shark themed, of course. Doesn’t expect a whole date, but if you don’t give her a Valentine card, or you gives cards to other people, she goes back to her dorm room to wrap herself in a blanket and cry as if you’ve been dating for months and you just dumped her. If you ask her out, she still cries, but in a happy way. She also ordered some V-Day themed lingerie just in case, but her sisters intercepted the package and roasted her so thoroughly that she didn’t even end up wearing it.

Kaylee: writes you a poem, but it’s hauntingly cryptic and only romantic in the way that Hannibal’s conversations with Will Graham are, which is to say, devastatingly. If you try to ask her if they’re being serious, they just laugh and start messing with your head instead. She’s not really the super romantic type, but she does like making you all confused and flustered. She does ask if you wanna go “prank” couples out on campus by booing whenever somebody gets asked out/proposed to, or just to throw water balloons at anybody indulging in PDA. That is her idea of a date. If you refuse, she only says, “Your loss,” and goes and does it on her own. How she’s remained in the student council is a miracle (nepotism. It’s nepotism. Also terribly old security cameras).

Was thinkin about your 5Ds furries and I legally have to ask what fursonas you'd assign to the Zexal cast

OUGH ive been thinking about this....zexal's cast is so big so I havent been able to scry critters for All of them, but here's a few ive been pondering....

Yuma - Eurasian Red Squirrel! I just feel like it suits him…. energetic and quick plus that perfect warm color palette. If i ever draw furry!yuma i wanna make his coat closer to the pink of his hair. Look how cute this lil guy is

Astral - some kind of bird I'm thinking. A dove could be, really really funny. And I also feel like you could translate his color palette/features to one supremely easily..

Shark - A SHARK WOULD BE TOO EASY!!! I like to play hardmode.... rn thinking about him and Rio either being some sort of squid or perhaps some species of seahorse...aquatic non-mammalian critters but a little bit more offbeat than most water dwelling furries.

Kite - ok this is a bonkers one but like. I was originally thinking some kind of bird for him too but ive also been playing with the idea of??? Hedgehog Kite??!?! Leucistic/blond hedgehogs can happen, and theyre also pretty solitary creatures (with..ah. bad eyesight :,)).. also very fun parallel to yuma's Woodland Critter ass. i just think it's so funny picturing this turbo badass and he's just. a hedgehog. (baby hedgy hart is also rly cute ;_; )

Tori - CORGI!!!!!!!!! The folklore connection of corgis and fairies tying into Fairy Cheer Girl, and theyre also just such a fearless, tenacious, affectionate breed...all very Tori like traits I think :3c They're also herders and I really love the image of Tori herding and corraling all of her and Yuma's other friends out of trouble hehehehe

I'm also still pondering the Barians but I really like the idea of them being mythical creatures in their alien form and the Real Life version of that animal in their human forms (so squid!nasch and marin would be krakens, and/or seahorse!nasch and marin would be kelpies, etc etc).....

(i also just think peryton!vector would be kickass)

What’s your favorite animal to see at the zoo/aquarium?

GASP . fantastic question. aquarium its manta rays and jellyfish hands down no question. the aquarium near where i grew up had manta ray touch tanks and that was sooo so special WAIT I HAVE TO . amend my answer its actually epaulette sharks i fucking love epaulette shark . THEY CAN WALK ON LAND and theyre sooo cute. at the zoo....i do not know when i was last at a zoo but probably its a big cat. one time i was on the safari ride at disney and the safari guide told us that cheetahs chirp instead of roaring or anything like that and i literally burst into tears immediately bc i thought it was so cute and he had to ask me if i was okay. ough now i wanna go to an aquarium...

top five fish GO!

number one is the coelacanth. really hard to tell with the username isnt it. sorry i just cant deny the appeal of the coelacanth. every interaction we've ever had with them has been so peaceful and watching them move is elegant and godly. they certainly feel like living fossils, its an apt title for them. theyre blue. they have stars in their scales. theyre gorgeous. such a charming fish

number 2 is the epaulette shark!!! this little guy is learning to WALK. they can crawl out of the water into shallower pools on their fins!! they waddle around like if seals only used their flippers to move, instead of throwing their whole bodies around. not to mention theyre cute as HELL. i find them comparable to the dachshunds of the sea i mean look at this widdol guy

number 3 is the ocean sunfish / mola mola!! holy shit getta load of these guys. while theyre insanely goofy looking, and while st first, many people may mistake them for brainless, lazy fish, mola mola are actually quite active! we as humans mostly just see them when they come to the surface to warm themselves back up after hunting in the deep ocean. these guys are also filled to the brim with a shit ton of parasites, and allow a lt of parasitic animals to thrive. mola mola r really cool. and very big.

the next is tricky.. its a total tossup, but i think hagfish take the spot. insanely charming animals to me. their little moustaches really endear me to them!! not to mention they have one of the coolest non lethal methods to shake predators off them! they secrete a disgusting slime from their skin when distressed. whenever a predator may go to bite down or get a mouthful of hagfish, the hagfish will release a bunch of slime, completely filling the predators mouth, and wiggle free. they also tie themselves into knots to position their own digestive tract better!! literally instead of just forming their intestines better they opted to evolve their bodies to be able to tie into a knot to be more efficient at eating. they fucking rule. 10/10 would eat next to at the whale fall

and last isssss....

YOU AND ME BABY!!! yeahh!! we're all fish!!!!! every animal that isnt a bug is a fish. isnt that neat :) we did all come from them after all!

im lying though. final answer is the beluga sturgeon

i mean. look at these guys. theyre absolutely massive! and these arent even the largest theyve gone on record to get!!

sturgeons are best described as the freshwater whales of the great lakes. they are absolutely huge, theyre armored, and theyve even got the cutest little noses to top it all off!! beluga sturgeons specifically, though, are just absolutely humongous fish. they can grow to absolutely insane sizes, as you can probably see. gosh i love em though. unfortunately, they dont get as big due to our affinity for fishing them. they just dont get old enough to get that big.

honorable mentions go to most plecos, those catfish are pretty high up there, and most gourami species. sheepshead wrasse are also really cool, theyve got teeth and can change sexes. and i also like groupers. and electric eels (not eels. theyre fish.), and wobbegongs, and seashorses and ough god there are too many fish to pick 5. i gotta podt this now or else im gonna be arguing with myself over ranking fish for hours

the real honorable mention goes to the giant isopod though. not a fish but literally my fav sea creature

POOL SHENANIGANS

okokokok so,

-a pred playing a game of shark in the pool

-prey tanning on the preds stomach before getting some rest and relaxation inside it as a cool down (or possibly a warm up?)

-tinies relaxing on frozen treats as the pred eats them

-bahaha maybe they have tiny floaties in iced tea or lemonade or something

-the pred swimming around with prey inside would be a crazy ride inside the stomach

OUGH I LOVE THESE YES

God. The idea of a prey resting on a preds stomach while they tan is. Cute. But also hilarious because what if they were lying there long enough to leave tan mark of themselves on the preds abdomen WHGDHBDBDNSN

Also yes yes yes!! Prey sitting in a nice cool drink, propped up against the edge of the glass, just hanging out like that until their pred decides they're thirsty and, well, if they 'accidentally' gulp them down alongside their drink, it's not like they mind, right?

And one more idea which I'm aware has been done before; if the prey is normal sized and the pred is just bigger than everyone else, they could just sit at the bottom of a water slide and wait for their prey to go down it, and when they do... let's just say they don't exactly land in the pool.
