I haven’t played POE yet, just reading the manual while the game downloads, but what is it with people’s totally not hobbits being a historically oppressed people. Golarian has halflings as the most commonly enslaved species in Cheliax. And now the Orlans are also historically oppressed. Are halflings in DnD settings other than the Forgotten Realms historically oppressed? Do authors just look at the pastoralist fantasy of the Shire and find the need to write a contrast in their own world?

Never thought I would be this charmed by a halfling.
Another of my beautiful and fluffy orlan, Serafen.
People need to pay more attention to Pillars of Eternity. 150 hrs in with veteran difficulty, having the time of my life.

Just getting some Pillars of Eternity 2 art in before I pick up that bald guy's gate.
This is my 4th watcher, a cipher/ranger orlan, who I made to explore the pirate's questlines. But she ended up screwing them over because she didn't like any of their leaders. Then she switched to working for the Huana but after a certain incident in the Watershaper's Guild, the Queen told her to bugger off, which wasn't smart because this plucky captain then became Rauatai's #1 privateer (a certain 7ft tall sharpshooter may have also influenced that).
