Chapter 15
Ratchet was worried. Optimus was recovering well but slowly. His body was still trying to cope with a piece of his Spark being removed. It was normal for the most part, he should have taken longer to deal with the trauma, but his worry for Jane was distressing him and it was only slowing his recovery.
‘I will be fine.’ Optimus kept saying, brushing off Ratchet’s concerns. ‘How is Jane?’
Ratchet folded his arms and sighed. ‘She is alive, but still unconscious. Your Spark is struggling to understand the new body it is in, it will take time for us to know whether it will be successful, or not.’
It wasn’t the answer that Optimus wanted, but it was the right one to give him, to make him understand what he had done to the woman he loved.
‘Optimus, do not do anything to disturb this.’ Ratchet warned. ‘I know what you are thinking, but this is a path she and your Spark must walk alone. She must come back to us on her own.’
Optimus bowed his head, it was clear to Ratchet that he had been considering something very stupid, but his feelings for this woman, as noble as they may have been, could cost her, her life.
---
Optimus had been summoned to a meeting with the humans again, a few days after Ratchet had warned him to leave Jane to recover alone, and his Spark had almost entirely healed. It would only be another few hours before he was able to call himself fully repaired.
The meeting had been to discuss Jane’s efforts and the completion of her mission, though there had been an agreement to keep the details of her survival quiet. Only those who had been directly involved would know what really happened, the official report told a different story, one where Jane had a heart transplant.
‘Is there anything else we should know about what happened?’ Smith, the annoying spokesperson for the president asked, pacing the balcony in the main hanger.
‘Such as?’ Optimus challenged, knowing exactly what Smith was trying to get out of him.
‘Harding fell thirty thousand feet through the air, no parachute as far as the satellite footage can tell, she was unconscious, unable to survive the fall.’ Smith made every word clear and Optimus did not appreciate being treated like a child. ‘Care to explain how she is now laying in a hospital bed perfectly fine?’
‘I believe your people called it a heart transplant,’ Optimus leaned in, daring Smith to argue with him. ‘The process, as I understand it, is to take a healthy heart from one who has given permission for-‘
‘Don’t play games with me!’ Smith snapped. ‘You did something. You and your people did something using your technology to bring her back to life.’
Optimus remained quiet, placing his hand on the balcony and leaning close to Smith, who began to back away, thinking better of his tone.
‘Dr Harding saved your planet,’ he spoke low and seriously. ‘She gave her life for yours, despite my lack of belief that it could ever hold the same value, and now she is recovering and gathering the rest needed to receive your thanks for her sacrifice. That is what happened.’
Optimus hoped he was clear, he didn’t lie, but he couldn’t reveal the truth of what happened.
Smith still wasn’t having it, he questioned everything about the mission, but Optimus held strong. He would never allow Jane to come to harm and if Smith found out about his Spark being transferred into her body, she would surely be taken away to suffer experimentation. Under his watch, that would never happen.
‘You know what I think?’ Smith paced again, he just wouldn’t quit. ‘I think you used your technology to save Harding, I think you brought her back from the dead. I think you possess the technology that could save a lot of people on this planet, that you refuse to share. Now, we’re not asking for weapons, or anything remotely dangerous, all we’re asking is for the chance to actually save lives. As far as I’m concerned, every life that is lost while you refuse to help, is on your conscience.’
Optimus felt a growl sitting in his chest.
‘What do you say to that?’
‘I say: your convoluted reasoning is only another example of why we will not share our technology with you.’ Optimus stood firm. ‘Your capacity for creative engineering would certainly lead you to find a way to weaponize any technology shared. More life would be lost as a result of-‘
Optimus stopped mid sentence. Even Smith was confused.
The great Autobot leader was silent, he was still for a moment, before looking towards the exit of the hanger. Something was happening, but he could place his finger on it.
‘You can’t run away from this conversation.’ Smith said, realising he may have had a chance at gaining the upper hand.
Optimus ignored him, something more important was happening. He ventured out of the hanger, looking around as if his eyes landing on something in the immediate area would somehow tell him what to do.
Lennox, Smith and a few other officials followed him out of the hanger, hoping for some kind of explanation. Ratchet and Ironhide stepped across from their own hanger to find out what was going on.
‘What is it, Optimus?’ Ironhide asked the question on everyone’s mind.
‘I do not know.’ Optimus shook his head, turning around to examine the whole base.
His gaze found the hill that he and Jane had gone to numerous times before she made the climb. He needed to go there.
Optimus transformed into the blue and red flaming truck and raced towards the top of the hill. Ratchet held his hand out to stop Ironhide going after him.
‘He must do this alone.’ Ratchet explained, pulling Ironhide away from Smith in particular. ‘If this is what I think it is, she must accept it for herself.’
---
I could feel the hot sun beating down on my face, it was almost soothing in comparison to the cold wind that had previously been rushing past me on the fall from the ship. I opened my eyes and was almost immediately blinded by the brightness of the sun. I could feel hot sand under my fingertips, hardened stone just beneath it.
Clouds were rushing past me, but there was no sound, it was just a soft pulsing, like I was inside something electrical. My body hurt, my joints still felt like glass, my muscles were still drained of all energy, but somehow, I was still forcing myself to stand.
‘We have been watching you for a long time.’ A deep and booming voice suddenly surrounded me.
I turned to find the source of it and was confronted by giant, god-like, mechanical creatures, who looked a lot like Autobots, but they were different to the ones that had come to Earth. They were skeletal and basic, almost like primitive versions, made up only of essential components.
I stood up fully, curious more than afraid. I supposed if they wanted to harm me, they would have done already.
‘Where am I?’ I asked, my voice was clear, echoing across the baron landscape, a far cry from how sore and dry my throat felt.
‘You are where you are supposed to be.’ Another of the giants spoke, this time it was a much more feminine voice. ‘You have been presented with a gift that few could ever be worthy of. The Spark of another is a great gift, but the Spark of a Prime comes with a price.’
     ‘I don’t understand.’ I shook my head. ‘What happened? I don’t remember anything… I died.’
‘Your organic heart was not strong enough to withstand the fall.’ The giant continued, she stepped forward and kneeled in front of me, but she was still a giant in my eyes. Towering over me, but again, more curious than anything. ‘Our last descendant, Optimus, saw in you the qualities of a great leader, a great warrior and one worthy of sharing his Spark. He gave you the chance to live again in union with him.’
‘Spark-sharing.’ I whispered, realising what must have happened. ‘Optimus gave up a piece of his Spark… for me?’
‘He did.’ The giant nodded, slowly. ‘While it is not conventional nor wise to have joined with an organic, this is his choice. If it is yours as well, then you must be prepared for the path laid before you.’ The giants behind her shifted, curious about me more than anything, probably wondering what was so special about me. ‘Your bravery and determination to make an impossible climb is what has brought you before us, but your faith that it was possible was what ignited Optimus’s love for you.’
‘He loves me.’ I whispered, as if I only realised in that moment what it really meant.
‘Summon him,’ the giant stood to join with the others. ‘And we will witness your acceptance or denial of this union.’
I shook my head. ‘I don’t know how.’
‘Look inside yourself, find the Spark, he will hear you if you speak clearly enough to him.’
It was all the guidance I would get, but I was still confused, I didn’t know how to communicate without words, but that seemed to be what was being asked of me.
I closed my eyes and tried to think of Optimus as clearly as I could. I tried to build a picture in my head of where he might have been. Something began to appear in front of me. The hanger. Smith. It was like a mirage, nothing was especially clear, but enough that I could see Optimus towering over the president’s spokesman.
     ‘Optimus.’ I breathed.
I could see him turning his head. Could he hear me?
‘Optimus.’ I spoke louder, holding onto the picture. ‘Find me.’
I felt my chest ache and I lost the picture in my head, falling to my knees as my joints were giving out, but I could still hear the sound of Optimus moving, I could hear the rev of his engine.
‘His is coming.’ The deep, booming voice of the first giant spoke.
The baron landscape began to change, instead of sand and concrete, I could feel grass beneath my hands, I looked down to see it growing quickly underneath me, and when I looked up, I could see the sunset over the base. It was the hilltop where Optimus and I shared our evenings before the climb. It was beautiful.
‘Jane?’ Optimus’s voice came from somewhere behind me, I turned to see him, shrunken to appear to be the same size as me, a human size. He was still tall and strong, but it was much easier to look up at him without straining my neck.
‘Optimus.’ I breathed, relieved. He knelt next to me and helped me to my feet slowly.
‘Are you alright?’ He asked, worried.
‘I’m fine.’ I panted. A smile forming on my face at the sight of him. I’d missed him so much.
‘Optimus Prime.’ The first giant boomed, catching Optimus’s attention.
His eyes widened and he immediately got onto one knee, bowing his head respectfully.
‘You have chosen this human to join in union with, to devote your life to, and to share with in all things.’ The giant went on. It only occurred to me in that moment that this felt a lot like marriage, a declaration of union was exactly what getting married looked like. I was surprised at how ready I felt to say yes to whatever question was asked of me.
‘Yes,’ Optimus spoke, still keeping his head bowed. ‘I accept all consequences of my choice. I have not broken any oaths or promises, I have sought permission for such a union-‘
‘Not from us.’ Another giant spoke up. It was clear now that not all of them were curious, some did not agree with the choice that had been made.
‘I sought permission from the only one whose permission matters.’ Optimus lifted his head, adopting a new tone with some bite behind it. ‘I asked Jane if she could foresee a life lived beside me, she said yes.’
‘Optimus.’ The female giant spoke again, stepping forward. ‘We have been watching. Permission has not yet been given, but we have agreed to offer the chance for it to be so. You are our last descendant, you are the only hope for the survival of our race. Your leadership is paramount to the continuation of our people, none other would be brought forward for this consideration.’
There was a moment of quiet before Optimus spoke again. ‘I understand.’
Optimus stood, his head bowed again, he turned to me and sighed.
‘What’s happening?’ I asked, my chest still ached.
‘I gave you a piece of my Spark,’ Optimus started. ‘But you were not conscious to accept it, while I can argue for the moment shared before you ascended the ship, where you acknowledged our desires are aligned, this is not the permission I needed to act.’ I felt my chest aching again. ‘On my planet, and in line with our traditions, you should have been aware of the price you would pay, should you choose to accept my Spark.’
‘But I don’t understand.’ I frowned. ‘I do accept. I want to share my life with you.’
Optimus let his head drop just a little, glancing at the ground.
‘You accept,’ the female giant spoke again. ‘But you do not understand. Permission cannot be given without this essential component.’
I frowned again, but dread began to flood my limbs. ‘Optimus?’
He looked down at me, he looked somehow different, like I was seeing him through new eyes. He was handsome, regal almost, I could see everything I loved about him, his strength and gentleness combined. He was beautiful.
‘Truthfully,’ he started. ‘We have no idea of what will happen. Our Sparks were never designed to be a part of organic life, they are too powerful to be housed by flesh.’ I swallowed, worried for what he had done to me. ‘My belief is that the piece of my Spark that I gave to you, can learn. I believe it can adapt to your body’s needs, sustain you and even allow you all the benefits it allows me.’
‘You mean, I could transform?’ I asked, feeling not only dread, but wonder and fear rolling through my body.
‘It is possible.’ Optimus nodded, but he didn’t seem particularly convinced. ‘However, it is also possible that I have condemned you to a short life of pain and suffering. I can already sense your discomfort.’ I tilted my head curiously. ‘You are in pain. I can feel it.’
I lifted my hand to place over my chest, it was warm, and I could almost feel every pulse the Spark was emitting from inside me.
‘When we sat together on this hill, I told you about Spark-sharing, I told you about the union, how it can bind two beings together for a lifetime, but I never told you how difficult the journey can be.’ Optimus said, ashamedly. ‘For Autobots, the first few years can be agonising and disorientating at best, it will test you in ways you have never been tested before. There will be moments where you will regret this choice, even grow to hate what has happened to you, grow to hate me… I am ready to walk the path with you, to guide you and help you as best I can, but the choice must be yours.’
I swallowed, trying to understand what it was I was being asked to accept, but truthfully, I would never know if I didn’t say yes, and that was a much more exciting prospect.
‘I made the climb.’ I said, more to myself than anyone.
‘You did.’ Optimus nodded. ‘And you saved your planet in the process.’
‘I could only have done that if I truly believed I could make it,’ I thought out loud. ‘If I asked the question “what am I capable of”?’ I swallowed thickly. ‘I didn’t know if my body could survive the climb, I don’t know if it can survive this, but I suppose the point I’m trying to make is that in my heart I know I love you.’ His widened and his features softened. ‘I believe that’s all the reason needed to know the risk is worth taking.’
Optimus almost puffed his chest out in pride.
‘Jane Harding.’ The female giant spoke, capturing both of our attention. ‘You have shown courage, intelligence and a curiosity not often seen amongst your kind.’ She curled her hand and images of myself climbing the ship, working with Theo on the suit, talking to Ironhide about where the console was and what it looked like, began appearing like clouds around me. ‘We have watched you for a long time, seen your capacity for kindness and value for justice,’ the memory of standing up to Smith where the sharing of technology was concerned began forming in a new cloud before me. ‘These moments defined you, reinforced the leader you will be; do not forget how difficult your path has already been.’ I could feel the fear I had when Smith told me I wasn’t a suitable candidate to make the climb. ‘But the journey ahead will be far more challenging.’
A new set of images began forming, ones I didn’t recognise, things that had not yet happened. I could see moments where I was screaming out in agony, clasping my chest, writhing around, falling and being thrown by unseen forces. One stood out in particular, me standing on a platform, Optimus behind me, barely able to stand. I was looking up at something unseen, but whatever it was, it looked like I wouldn’t stand a chance.
The images floated around me, circling me and each one looked more agonising than the last.
‘This is what awaits you, should you accept the Spark of Optimus Prime.’ The giant took the images away, but I could still feel remnants of them in my body. ‘Do you accept what is before you, Jane Harding?’
A sharp pain ran through my limbs, once again dragging my body to the floor, my joints were so much more delicate than they had ever been. For a moment, I wasn’t sure I would survive another second, but something was telling me that wasn’t an option. Dying was not my destiny. Not yet.
Optimus stood to one side, I understood why he couldn’t help, this was a test, this was the moment I found out what I was truly capable of. I needed to stand up, no matter how difficult, no matter how much my body was telling me I couldn’t do this, I needed to stand up.
Without any strength, with so little will, I pushed my fragile, glass-like body up. The second I was standing, it was like all strength returned, I could breathe easy again.
‘Do you accept?’ The giant asked again.
‘I do.’ I swallowed in more air, feeling my lungs fill with exactly what I needed.
Optimus took a step closer, his face a mixture of joy and softness. It was love.
‘Then the dynasty recognises this union of our descendant Optimus Prime and the human Jane Harding.’
The giants, one by one, began descending to one knee. The female giant was the first and it seemed more and more continued to appear and kneel before us beyond the horizon.
‘May your path be long and prosperous.’ She carefully lifted her hand and with one finger placed to my forehead, the world began to fall away, darkness returned for me.
---
Optimus watched as Jane fell back and through the Earth, returning to her hospital bed to rest. He looked up at the great Dynasty of the Primes, happy that his union was accepted by Jane, and by his ancestors.
They began standing once again, but they no longer looked peaceful and calm.
‘Optimus.’ The Prime who had been speaking with Jane stepped back and allowed the first Prime to step forward. ‘Your actions were reckless. You put the survival of our people at risk. We know you understand the consequence of that, but your punishment will be this union you have chosen with the human female.’ Optimus worried that the whole truth had yet to be revealed. ‘You believe your Spark can learn to sustain her, many of us do not share this belief. Many of us think you have condemned her to unimaginable pain and suffering, no human could withstand the years ahead, she will die at your hands. And should that day come, we will not accept your life as forfeit, you will continue on, you will be the example to all other Autobots who believe organics are capable of sharing our Sparks. Do you understand?’
Optimus again puffed out his chest. ‘I understand. I have seen the human race do things beyond our perception of their capabilities, I have witnessed their strength and determination, I have fought proudly alongside the finest warriors their planet has to offer and would gladly give my life for them. So allow me to pose this question: What if Jane survives, and you are wrong?’
The Primes exchanged looks between themselves and Optimus knew it was risky to defy them. These were the oldest and wisest of his kind, it was never a good idea to antagonise them. They began to turn and walk away, with nothing more to say on the matter. Only the female Prime remained.
‘If you are right,’ she said, calmly. ‘Then she will become the first Human Prime. Be sure you are making the right choice, if she is able to withstand the initial binding, she will be faced with a choice, continue her personal journey which could lead to devastation, or become the leader all Primes are destined to be. You will need to guide her, help her and ensure she does not fail.’
‘She will not fail.’ Optimus spoke, defiantly.
‘Her memory of the future will be erased, she will not know the path ahead. It will be your job to make sure she faces every challenge with the courage she showed to make the impossible climb. Do not fail, for all our sakes. Be gone.’
The last Prime placed her index finger on his forehead and he was sent back to the hilltop in the midst of reality. Jane was no where in sight, why would she be? She should still have been resting in the hospital bed. She said yes. She accepted their union, she said yes to spending her life with him.
Optimus transformed back into the big truck he was known for and raced back to the base where Ratchet and Ironhide were waiting for him. Smith and Lennox were still arguing, but it was the status of Jane that was more important.
‘Prime.’ Ironhide said, stepping towards his old friend who transformed back. ‘What happened?’
‘Ratchet.’ Optimus called his friends to him. ‘She said yes.’ He couldn’t help his elation at saying those words, but it was laced with worry. ‘Please, I need to know if she will wake up soon.’
‘I will take care of her.’ Ratchet promised.
‘She summoned me through her Spark,’ Optimus explained. ‘It will have drained her energy to do so. I could already feel her pain at the effort.’
Ratchet nodded and he and Ironhide moved away back to their hanger. They couldn’t risk being seen to head towards the hospital with Smith still loitering around.
Optimus felt revitalised, like all of his repairs had been redone once again. He was ready to defend his and Jane’s actions with courage and logic.

Usually I am feeling weak. Everyone around me is worried and asking if I am alright or what happened. I cannot tell anyone/everyone, so I use my drawing skills as escapism for now. Arcee + Bumblebee and me + Optimus, that’s today’s doodles!
Also I do notice lots of mistakes on BB but I prefer to ignore..

Spooks
"What was that!" Streetheart asked. Optimus looked around and for a brief second he thought he spotted something moving in the shadows. But when he blinked his eyes again he only saw the swaying branches of weeping willows.
"I don't know," said the holoform. "Come on, let's keep close together." He brings her closer as a memory flashed in his mind. He shook it off. No. He can guilt himself later but right now all that mattered was finding their crew. Streetheart nodded and steeled herself as they entered the domain of the dead. The lives of their friends were more important than her fears. She could handle a couple of spooks.

Hallo! So remember my oc Vivienne? Well I have a request….Vivienne feels as if she’s constantly being watch(which she is but that’s unimportant) and one day she snaps and the bots find her, her fan discarded, mascara running down her face as she’s panicking that someone is coming for her and that they are gonna kill her, she’ll occasionally say someone is watching her but everyone just thinks she is paranoid, how would the bots comfort her?🧐
For Optimus, Ratchet, and Wheeljack again, TFP as usual😌
P.S. remember to take breaks and take care of yourself, drink your water and make sure to feed yourself. THIS GOES FOR EVERYBODY READING THIS🔫
I’m going to bed now
Good night! Don't let the decpticons bite! I hope you like this! You also take care of yourself!
TransformersPrimeXOC
Optimus
Optimus will find Vivienne in the storage room
He found her there when he found her discarded hand fan in the hallway
He would ask what is wrong and when Vivienne explains that she is gonna die and somone is coming for her, optimus will be surprised.
He will try to calm Vivienne and when that doesn't work, he would pick up Vivienne and show her there is no one.
He would tell her that he would protect Vivienne with his life and she is safe.
To make sure Vivienne feels really safe, he would walk around the base with her
Checking every room and hallway to show no one is here besides the team.
Ratchet
Ratchet would find Vivienne freaking out in the medbay.
He went into there to grab somthing but he found her.
He would ask what's wrong and when Vivienne explains that they are being watched and they are gonna die.
Ratchet will say it's not true and to stop over reacting.
This would make Vivienne worse.
He will actally feel bad and try to help them.
Offering to show them there is no one or secret cameras on base by looking thru the computer.
Wheeljack
Wheeljack will find Vivienne on his ship, crying.
He would ask what's wrong and when Vivienne explains that they are being watched and are gonna die.
I think wheeljack, out of the three, would be worried since he has delt with people watching him.
*cough cough* decpticons *cough cough*
He would take Vivienne around the ship, they would look between every cracks, shelf, chair, everything.
Once there is nothing, he would resure Vivienne that there is no cameras.
He will stay with her to make hee feel better.
He would double check later just to make sure.

Dude I NEED you to elaborate on that insecticon queen x OP post I’m BEGGING YOU
Look
Loooook
I've been obsessed all day with the queen hitting on optimus and everyone else giving her the side eye because that is the prime she's talking about, while Optimus is bouncing on his pedes stars in his optics because he's already thinking of the possibility for an alliance with benefits
After all
It's not every day you encounter a mech that much taller than you at his size (god she can't even fit in the autobot base can she?? Is she too damn tall?) who is also so down bad for you.
Extra points if this is a universe where primes used to be associated with fertility in some more salacious versions of their society long forgotten... except by the Insecticons and Optimus himself
Also loving the idea of ovipos here because after all, a queen's job is to expand the colony, and here's Optimus fucking jumping at the opportunity to be pumped full of eggs for the sake of their mutual species. After all, the war hit their species hard. Might as well start to increase their numbers
Strengthen the very valuable alliance with the Insecticons, especially since numbers wise this woukd be an absolute game changer in the war against the Decepticons.
I've been seeing a lot of breeding optimus in the valveplug tag so i just have to add my own card into it
Extra points if Ratchet the entire time is like "goddamn it Orion this is not the time" but it issss thoughhhh
Several of the autobots have never seen Optimus so happy in their lives
OO O O O Extra points if this is blended continuity for the sake of also disappointed Prowl, disappointed Ultra Magnus, and very supportive Jazz
Megatron will never admit that something about seeing Optimus filled with another's spawn turns him on (is it jealousy? If so, of which angle? Ideas)

She was just taking a dip and taking pictures of corals to make reports on the effect of pollution and suddenly a mermaid grabbed her and nagged her. Also Ratchet was about to comment on the shorter hairstyle, thinking she cut it but then Azure and Optimus made their appearances.

Chapter 13
I couldn’t get enough oxygen into my body, even with the mask. The air pressure gun had recharged and I was able to aim it at the ship, swinging myself back against it and take a moment to calm down.
It was so quiet, the Earth from this high up was almost peaceful and I was using it to focus, but if I had another set back like that, I would never make it to my destination.
The sky was starting to get darker as night was falling in, the eight hours was nearly up. Lennox would have no choice but to assume I didn’t make it. It didn’t matter. I looked up to see the previous five thousand feet I had left to climb had just become eight.
‘You can do this, you’ve done this bit before, it’ll be a breeze now.’ The echo of Lennox’s words from the climbing wall on that first day, it was the only thing telling me that everything might have been okay.
‘I have to do this.’ I said.
     ‘Yes, you do.’
I turned to see Lennox strapped into his climbing gear, the same way he was on the wall, he smiled at me.
‘You wanna quit? There’s no shame in not making it.’ He said.
I felt a surge of anger rise in my chest. ‘No.’ I told him, pulling out another syringe and jabbing my leg.
I climbed hard, I wasn’t going to quit now, I was closer than I was at the start, no one thought I could do this, but they would always be wrong and all I ever had to do was prove it. I pulled the gun out and shot straight upwards, pulling myself up the next sixty feet. I couldn’t stop.
---
The eight hours was up, and Lennox could barely lift his gun anymore. He looked over at Epps who was the same. No one else was coming to save them and it looked like Harding had failed.
‘Bee!’ He shouted, Bumblebee was being repaired by Ratchet who was struggling to keep up. ‘Can you see her? She should be at least twenty eight thousand feet up by now!’
Bumblebee looked up at the ship, his eyes searching. He looked down at Lennox and shook his head.
Lennox nodded, again looking over at Epps. ‘We did our best.’ He said, Epps deflating in disappointment. They failed. ‘Optimus!’ Lennox managed to get to his feet, the great Autobot turned to him, firing off rockets and slicing through the creatures where he could. ‘I’m calling it. It’s been over eight hours and no one can see her. Harding failed.’
Optimus looked down at him surprised. ‘You are leaving?’
‘I have to call in everything we have to try and take that ship down.’ Lennox reasoned with him. ‘If she hasn’t made it by now, she probably won’t.’
Optimus kneeled down and gave him a firm look. ‘Dr Harding believed the climb was possible, she has given everything to saving your planet. And you made a promise.’ He pointed at Lennox. ‘Her prediction of eight hours was always harboured by the lack of knowledge about what she would encounter.’
‘That’s my point!’ Lennox shot back. ‘If she has run into the enemy up there, there is every chance she has been killed on sight.’ He watched the usually stoic Autobot’s eyes widen. ‘I’m sorry, I know you put a lot of faith in her, but we need to look at the bigger picture here.’
Optimus looked up at the ship. ‘I believe she is still making the climb.’ He said.
     ‘You can’t know that.’
‘You cannot know she has failed.’ Optimus countered. ‘I will continue on until I know for certain either way.’
He didn’t wait for a response from Lennox, he just stood up and ran into battle once again.
Lennox let a breath go and looked over at Epps.
‘He’s right, you know.’ Epps called over. ‘She might be inside that ship right now, we have to give her more time.’
Lennox let his eyes close, he was so tired. It was nothing compared to what Harding had to endure, but it was still agony to continue on.
---
I could see the opening, it was only another twenty feet, but I couldn’t take the long strides I had been taking. My legs just couldn’t push me up like that anymore. I was shaking and even deeper breaths couldn’t steady my hands anymore.
I pulled out my fourth syringe filled with adrenaline, I hadn’t wanted to use it, but I was so close, and every sacrifice was for the safety of the planet. It was worth it.
It was enough to get me up to the opening and pull myself inside the ship.
I could see what looked like a mechanical beehive, it was like a factory, pumps, pipes, caverns and steam surrounded me. More of those creatures were being made, probably quicker than they could be destroyed on the ground. It only made me realise that Optimus and Lennox were in a losing fight no matter what. They could have fallen already.
I searched around the immediate area, resting against the cool metal of the cavern that led into the open area of the lower part of the ship, and deciding that any energy used needed to be sure. I just didn’t have anything left to waste.
I managed to pull myself across the floor just enough to see a corridor. The creatures didn’t seem to notice me, or if they did, they didn’t think I posed much of a threat. They were probably right.
Something occurred to me quite suddenly. These were hive creatures. They had one leader and one mind, it meant I needed to be careful. I couldn’t pose even the slightest bit of a threat, otherwise it would have been a wasted trip.
It was closing in on ten hours, I wondered why Lennox hadn’t called in for a full frontal attack by now. Of course, there was every chance I was the last one standing, and standing was a kind way of putting it. Crawling across the floor of an alien ship just because my body wouldn’t allow for anything else, was the reality of the situation.
Finally, I found what I was looking for. It was a station close to the massive door where hundreds of wasp creatures were being deployed, it also linked up to the ship’s harvesting capabilities. If I could blow that, the ship would be rendered incapable of destroying planet Earth, but able to fly away. It looked exactly the way Ironhide and Optimus had described it.
The only problem was it was in an awkward place that meant I would have to leave via the same doors the wasps were flying out of. There was no way I would be able to climb back up the caverns again. The only way was down.
---
For the first time in his life, Optimus wasn’t sure whether he could continue the fight. He was exhausted, some of his Autobots had fallen and the humans were right, it had been over eleven hours that Jane had been climbing. No human could survive such a test. It was too much to ask one person.
He fell to his knee, taking a moment to rest while Ironhide protected his position, giving him the breather he needed.
The problem with his doubts about Jane’s survival was that everything he had seen of her, everything he desired and everything that told him she was the one worth devoting his life to, told him she would save the world no matter the cost. But by the same logic, it angered him to no end to think the last time he saw her, was the last time he would ever see her.
Even just the temptation of thinking that he would never see her again, forced him to his feet and back into battle. He made a promise.
---
The dynamite was in place. I needed a minute to breathe, the oxygen mask was still attached to my face, but it didn’t feel like enough.
I unravelled the coil, attaching it to my belt and prayed it didn’t come loose. I did everything I could to make sure I didn’t have to go back, but even through my exhaustion, I knew it wasn’t perfect.
I managed to get down towards the doors beneath, the creatures were still flying out and probably taking over the earth. I knew it had been nearly twelve hours after I began the climb and I was certain I wouldn’t make it home, but at least every one else would be safe.
There was only one syringe left and my chest was already aching, I wasn’t sure if I could take another shot, but I needed it to complete the mission and steady my hands just enough to light the match and blow the console.
I found a small space where the wind wasn’t as harsh and pulled out the box of matches and some scissors. The coil was cut. I took a moment to breathe and jag my leg with the last adrenaline shot I had.
It was so painful, my joints were like glass and my muscles felt like they’d faded away, but the familiar burn of the chemical surging through me was the only thing making me continue on regardless.
I lit the match, the only real light in the dark of the ship, and the coil began burning. The creatures still hadn’t noticed me, and I counted myself lucky, but suddenly my chest was in agony, like my heart was about to burst. The flame had almost reached the dynamite and I needed to leave.
The last of my energy was devoted to rolling off the ledge and plunging towards a darkened Earth. It was over. My mission was complete and there was nothing more to be done, except fall into blackness.
‘Rest now, Dr Harding.’ Optimus’s voice rang out in my mind, and I felt all will and determination leave me. My eyes closed and the only thing I saw was the bright blue eyes of the Autobot I fell in love with.
---
An explosion. The wasp creatures stopped on the battlefield, all of their attention turning to the ship. It was like a chain reaction being set off, one explosion led to another and to another.
‘Harding did it.’ Lennox whispered. ‘Harding did it!’ He yelled, the soldiers and Autobots around him cheering as the creature began a full retreat.
Optimus was the only one not cheering. His attention was firmly in the sky, trying to locate Harding.
‘There.’ He said, directing everyone’s attention to the bulk of where the wasps were flying towards. ‘She must have had no choice by to exit on the other side.’
Lennox and his men all raised their binoculars, finding Harding in their sights. ‘Something’s wrong.’ He said, watching her body rotate and flay about aimlessly. ‘Oh my God.’ He said, quietly to himself.
     ‘What?’ Optimus asked, worriedly.
‘I don’t think she’s conscious.’ He shook his head. ‘She can’t pull her chute.’
Optimus turned back to see her body still falling. There was no choice. He ran back towards his gear, strapping his flight tech on his back.
‘Optimus, you cannot reach her in your state.’ Ratchet tried to stop him.
‘I made a promise.’ He growled again. ‘If it costs my life, then so be it.’
Optimus didn’t wait for anyone else to try and argue. He took flight, feeling his own body’s weight much more clearly than before. The only thing on his mind was to get to Jane’s body before she hit the ground.
He swung his sword around him, catching the occasional straggling creature, they were zooming past Jane, trying to get back to their ship which was now beginning to take flight once again.
The ship exploded again close to the bottom and a pulse emitted from it, nothing harmful to him and the creatures were still racing back towards it, but it did knock him off course. He lost Jane for a moment, before looking down to see her heading straight towards the ground.
Optimus turned around and flew as fast as he could towards her.
He reached out as he got closer, curling his hand around her fragile frame and bringing her close to his chest, she wasn’t moving.
Optimus landed hard on the ground, damaging his knee once again as he fell against a building that was almost entirely decimated. Ironhide carried Lennox, Epps and some human medical personnel towards his position. The damage stopped him from standing, but he could gently place Jane on the ground for the doctors to attend to her.
Lennox stood over them as Ratchet made it over to Optimus, beginning work on his knee immediately.
Optimus watched as her equipment was stripped off, her pale face just about visible, but she still wasn’t moving.
The doctors pulled out a machine, unzipping her jacket to get at her chest, they cleared the area and Lennox just stepped back, his hands going to his head as he began to realise what might have happened.
Optimus looked to Ratchet for an answer.
‘It’s a machine humans use to restart their hearts. A defibrillator.’ He said, quietly.
     ‘Her heart?’ Optimus was confused.
‘I’m sorry, old friend.’ Ironhide came around to comfort his friend.
Optimus’s mind wouldn’t allow him to fully understand what was happening to Jane, but at some point, the doctors stopped. Jane still hadn’t moved.
‘What are you doing?’ He asked. ‘You must restart her heart.’
‘Optimus.’ Lennox stepped forward to calm the Autobot leader. ‘She’s gone. I’m sorry.’
Optimus looked around him, searching for a different answer, but no one was providing it for him. He looked down at her body, her fragile, soft body and edged towards it. She made a promise to survive, to fight for tomorrow, she would want to keep it if she could.
     ‘No.’ Optimus whispered. ‘She isn’t.’

Jitterbug | Bayverse!Optimus Prime x fem!human!reader
Tumblr media
Pairing : Bayverse!Optimus Prime x fem!human!reader ( she is Sam's younger sister )
Summary : At first she was the exact same as her brother Sam , but after some tragic events she became a little bit distant . But when he came - she was confused . She did not know how to react when she realized that she loved him . When him and the Autobots landed on the Planet Earth , he expected humans like Sam to be intrigued by them , what he did not expect was to fall in love for a certain girl with bright blue eyes.
Tw : mental health issues , diagnosis of illness , angsty feelings , a very concerned Ratchet , confused Optimus , parents stupidity , but fluff at the end.
English is not my first language so if you spot any mistakes please just bare with me .
Ps : I got away with this one because OPTIMUS DESERVES SOME LOVE , but I really enjoyed it so I hope you do too .
Edit : I think it is so bad for some reason . Some people will say that the song does not fit with the imagine , but I think it is better this way .
11k words
______________________________________________________________
Let's just say that your first encounter with the Autobots was not like you've imagined it to be .
Not that you've ever imagined about meeting extremely tall and big aliens that can turn into cars .
You've never imagined that you'll fall in love for the leader of the Autobots when you first saw him either .
It was a cold night in the early days of October when you and your older brother Sam got into a really big fight .
Things got even worse when your parents came upstairs to calm you both , but instead of doing that they intervened and the situation escalated .
From arguing with your brother about something that you both forgot after a while , to both be arguing with your parents about literally anything .
Their criticism about Sam's progress in school that was not so good , how you were being a not so helpful person because of your mental health issues .
" How much more oblivious can you both be ? Sam do you even realise how much money we are going to spend for your college if you do not graduate form High School with at least decent grades ? "
Your father had told your brother , but he did not answered .
He believes that in situations likes this one - silence is the best option.
But when your mother turned to you . . . Sam saw red .
" And you Y/N haven't we spent enough money for your therapy ? Buying pills every God damn month ? It happened long ago , you should have been able to forget it by now . I mean , it is like you are doing it on purpose ."
He immediately grabbed your right wrist and dragged you out of your house .
Your parents yelling at you to come back at the house immediately or else -
That is how you found yourselves in the middle of nowhere eating McDonald's and drinking coffee inside his car .
Dad bought him a yellow Camaro with black details a couple of days ago , but he was experiencing some weird problems with it .
The most common one - the radio turned all the time on its own .
You loved it .
And so did Sam that night .
The radio was playing some funny jokes to help you both forget the ugly situation back at the house .
Uncontrollably laughing you did not hear a big track changing its form to a 22ft alien robot .
Optimus Prime thought that Bumblebee was still into his alt - form just because he enjoyed it .
The thing is that Bee was so happy that you both were laughing at the jokes , that he did not even noticed his leader looking down at him .
" Mother of Primus . Are you even listening to to me ? " Optimus Prime asked a little louder this time and Bee frozed in his spot .
When Optimus realized that Bee had passengers inside the car he left a breath he did not know he was holding .
Bee opened his doors slowly telling you to get out before he could change into his original form .
Both you and Sam were shocked beyond repair .
Bee was looking down embarrassed when Optimus kneeled on the ground to take a better look at you - both .
Coming close to your faces he asked :
" Are you Samuel Witwicky descedant of Archibald Witwicky?"
" Yeah . " Sam had answered holding at you like a teddy bear .
" My name is Optimus Prime . We are autonomous robotic organisms from the planet Cybertron . "
" But you can call us Autobots for short . " Another one said .
Where did he come from ?
" What's cracking little biches ? This looks like a cool place to kick it . " Another one asked .
You heard yourself silently laughing .
" My first lieutenant the designating Jazz . " You heard Optimus deep voice saying .
" How you learnde to talk like that ? " Sam asked smiling .
" We learned Earth's languages through the World Wide Web . " Optimus answered while looking at you .
Shocked by his piercing blue eyes , you did not realised that another bot had said that your levels were unstable and your body was asking for some rest .
Sam looked worryingly at you .
" And you are ? " Optimus asked you .
" Huh ? " You asked him lost in his eyes .
" She is my younger sister Y/N . " Sam had answered for you .
Suddenly you heard George Michael's voice in Bee's speakers .
" You put the boom - boom into my heart
" You send my soul hig - sky
" When your lovin' starts "
Ratchet the medical's officer had stoped Bee with what it seems to be a laser .
Optimus tried to save you both from embarrassed when he properly introduced to Sam that Bee was his guardian .
And while Ironhide and Jazz were both not interested in the conversation , Ratchet decided to tell his leader that you needed a guardian too .
He offered to become yours so he can have you close by his side since of your unstable health levels but Optimus decided otherwise .
__________
Ratchet was never more anxious and afraid in his whole entire robotic life .
After their first encounter with you and your brother , he soon realized that Sam was the type of guy that tried to fing good in every bad situation . He was alaways happy and funny . Laughing at everything him and Bee did .
You on the other side were more close , introvert , sometimes you spent to many hours of the day alone , you had sleepless nights , you found peace in listening to 80's and 90's music in your earphones .
And of course he had realized that you and Optimus - your guardian had a think for each other .
Everyone seemed to know except you two .
Although after the war between the Autobots and the Decepticons you reached your breaking point .
__________
Anxiety and panic attacks , insomnia , sleepless nights , nightmares , constant fight with your parents , Sam's abstinence , Ratchet's healt questions , Bee's teasing about you and Optimus - Optimus .
You can not lie .
You two were closer that anyone else .
Ironhide believed that your bond was even stronger that the one of Sam and Bee's .
You loved him - more that n just love actually .
You could not imagine your life without the big bot .
And when one day were you were at your worst , Optimus did not returned home that night chasing after some Decepticons , you thought that he was dead .
Only Sam knew why .
You left the compound that night crying and when Optimus returned and did not found you , he knew that he was in deep trouble .
Sam told everyone the truth .
One year ago you had lost forever your bestfriend right in front of your eyes .
The memory was just too much for you and you slowly started getting depressed .
When the therapist diagnosed you with it it was too late you were already deep within it .
Sam told Optimus that you liked him .
And after that Optimus knew what he had to do .
__________
You heard the big truck coming to a stop and after a couple of seconds the sounds of Optimus changing from his alt - form .
" Are you alright Jitterbug ? " Optimus Prime asked you coming closer to you .
Jitterbug . . .
The nickname Optimus had given you after he found out that the song Bee used was your favorite .
Wake my up before you go by Wham!
Your silence made him even more worried .
"Sam told us what is going on and I wanted to say that . . .
I'm sorry Y/N .
If I realized sooner maybe I could have find a way to help you . " He said .
" It's not your fault Optimus . " You finally said to him , voice hoarse from crying .
When you looked up at him - even in the dark night sky he could see your red eyes .
Oh Sweetspark . . . he thought .
He placed his left servo on the ground near you .
After a couple of seconds you hopen up while he was briging you closer to his face .
" Y/N I would like to confess something to you that I hope it will not jeopardize the relationship with have build up . Sam told me - " Before he could complete whatbhe wanted to say you interrupted him .
" Did Sam told you that I like you ? " You asked , tears already building in your eyes .
" Is it not true ? " Optimus asked you .
" No it's not like that . Look you are Optimus Prime . You are a Prime . The leader of the Autobots . And I'm me . Just me . " You said . Taking it of your chest .
" That doesn't meen anything Y/N you humans have helped us with so much that we can call your planet Earth home . And in my home your in too . I am willing to help you get through your pain my Sweetspark . " He confessed to you .
" I thought I was your Jitterbug . " You said to him while placing your hands to his face plate pressing your lips in his dermas .
He stared in your blue eyes , the ones he grew to love so much .
" What do you think about going back to the compound ? It's about to rain and it's a long drive . " He said and slowly he transformed back to his al - form placing you inside his cabin .
" Can you please put our song ? " Your sweet voice asked him and he for sure did it with happiness .
Wake me up before you go by Wham! was playing .
Your song .
__________
" Y/N your back . Is everything okay ? " Your older brother Sam asked you once he saw you .
" I am going to kill you . " You said to him while running to catch him .
Sam started to scream for help while Bee and Jazz seem to enjoy the moment .
" Primus . What is going on ? " Ironhide asked Optimus but before he could answer Ratchet showed up .
" Well at least her levels indicate that she is doing better . Someone save Sam , his stress levels are duplicated .

I have an idea that has been cooking in my head for a month now. I just wanted to write the general idea because I'm still figuring out the details and logistics of some plot points. You're welcome to tell me how you like this concept :3
Transformers Prime AU where Optimus somehow gets cursed to be a human. He lost his prime title because some higher power didn't like that he sided with humans (as I said, still working on the details 😭) (this is just a rough sketch of the plot)
OC/Reader has been an ally to the Autobots for a while. Optimus was really good friends with them and decided to come to them for help. The reader helps him out and let's him live at their place. It's quite domestic - they eat breakfast together and they cook together and they watch TV together. (Omg, and they were roomates)
You help him out however you can - you answer all his questions about humanity and the human body. He gets his first cold at some point, and he thinks he's dying. He had to get glasses because his eyesight was not the best. You teach him how to do laundry and how to do grocery shopping. You hold him close as he cries at night after a bad nightmare.
Optimus wants to get a job because you already let him live at your place for free, but you also paid for his clothes and extra food so he wants to be able to support you financially and pay his half of the bills. You help him get a job at the local library, and Optimus is really happy with that because he missed his days as an archivist back on Cybertro and this job reminds him of the good old days before the war. It makes him feel young again and comes to the realisation that this is the life he wants.
He wants to come home before your shift ends so that he can cook dinner for you. He wants to sit down on the couch after a long day at work and watch some kdrama on Netflix with you. He wants to have his morning coffee while the two of you discuss your plans for the day.
Optimus Prime doesn't exist anymore. And he doesn't mind it at all. He's allowed to be Orion Pax again.
