LPS Custom #9: Y2K girlypop daisy bedroom.
Been a while since I've made a custom! I've got a video on the making-of on this one but that's gonna take awhile to edit, so have the pics for now and look forward to the vid later. ( if the footage ends up being useable lol)
Super sculpey, faux fur, feathers, wire+plastic armature, fabric leather, primer, acrylic paint, varnish. Posable neck has plastic ball-and-socket armature inside and can be posed. Tail and wings are also posable and have wire armature inside. Legs and lumbar also contain wire armature inside, so you can carefully and slightly move it to find perfect balance if you keep the doll on uneven surface.
I just really loved his outdoor photo-shoot, so I just can't help but share these photos with you <3
Ramos, Dragon Engine from Magic: the Gathering. One of the biggest sculptures I've worked on! 🐉
Made of air-dry clay, painted with acrylic paints and coated with a protective matte varnish. The sculpture was made to order.
Dimensions: 31 x 55 x 23 cm = 12.2 x 21.7 x 9.1 inches (length x wingspan x height).
I call this "Biblically Accurate Poseable Rainbow Dash"!
This is what she looked like before: x
I got her thrifting for like $8, and then cut off all her damaged rooted hair, and then installed some monster high joints in her wing holes and tail holes, then I sculpted her hair and painted everything :)
I also resculpted her face and thighs a bit, I was trying to make her pretty accurate to the show, I think I did pretty good!
Unfinished Astarion's heads 1/6. The hair needs to be detailed and some mistakes need to be corrected. And of course, pick up a body for him. One of a kind. Not for sale.
The Howdy figure I teased! I made him. Back in spring I think? And I just haven’t posted him because I keep forgetting to put sealant on him. Well, he still doesn’t have sealant but I got impatient and had the photo shoot anyways.
I choose Howdy because the two pairs of legs would make it easy for him to stand while the four arms would still provide a nice challenge. He’s made from a wire and tin foil base baked in polymer clay. His paints are whatever acrylics I could find lying around. I made him look drippy because :) He took maybe 2 weeks to a month? And this was an on and off project.
As for the Eddie cosplay I’m going to wait until colder weather to take the photos because his mask is hawt to wear. In the mean time I hope to make more WH sculptures! Probably Barnaby. On all fours lol.
ingredients: hotglue, airdryclay, hopes n dreams.
i wanna make a better photoshoot of her.. but i feel this represents her pretty well, in all her glory
I’ve been working on him for a while now and I’m SO happy with the results! He is also my first fully sculpted articulated clay doll (or action figure? idk)
Anyway, I made his outfit based on a description directly from my copy of the book and old illustrations, and I stylised it a bit; his golden circlet made with a old heart-shaped ring and I made his little cloud with yarn.
I’ll definitely take more pictures of him later, when the weather allow it.
Bonus: I’m not exaggerating when I say he’s tiny, here he is with one of my previous creation (Ruth):
Tfw you’re the greatest legendary warrior in history but you’re also the size of a 6 y/o child.
Okay so since I've posted it to reddit now and it's all finished (for now) I will share here a bunch of photos of my Orel and Bloberta dolls (Shapey is next WIP for the Shapey fans)! Materials included wire, epoxy putty, rubber latex, Super Sculpey/fimo polymer clay, Mr Super Clear, and lots of fabric lol- clothing patterns are originally from Chellywood.com (lots of awesome doll clothes patterns) which I have mixed/modified and added things of my own as with the collars and other embellishments. The inspiration for these came because I wanted my own puppets/dolls after watching the show. (There are 30 pics here because that's the limit lol)
Orel clothes!
Bloberta clothes and stuff (apron, knitting, hat, broom, drill, slippers)! (more clothes made since this pic)
Based on the outfit she wore in Help (blouse pattern recreated in CSP)
Based on Lauren Bacall's dress in 1957's Designing Woman (the pattern, which I recreated in CSP, got less saturated after I printed it which is annoying but at least it looks like it lol)
"My favourite lucky shirt!"
Oh no Orel don't go on that hunting trip
Pyjama time
Multiple Godgasm shirt! I took the logo from the show, cleaned it up and vectorised it, and had it made into a direct film transfer (thank you DTFCreationsCo on Etsy)
"Look at my new shirt Mom!"
"Happy Mother's Day, Mom!"
(technically it was like a week after Mother's Day that I took this but oh well. The card says "Happy Mother's Day, Love Orel" on the inside)
Various Blobs
Blobs and the drill
"Yarn yarn yarn"
Outdoor pics!!
Well there are a couple other assorted pics but at least I can put 30 here instead of 20 on reddit lol
Look out for Shapey at some point!!
