had the unique experience today of being lucky enough to win a plush kirby prize in an ichiban kuji that is Perfect for holding on my lap while I watch things on my laptop, while the something that I was in the midst of watching today was the seemingly most R-rated show netflix has to offer
this on its own is not much of an issue, except for the fact that due to this plush's design and how i had my hands folded over it it looks like kirby is watching along as well, leading to a particularly fascinating contrast in media consumption- here's a visual aid I put together demonstrating this phenomenon:

Here we go again talking about "Mine" and explaining my absence. For the past month or two I've been questioning myself if I want to put Mine on a hiatus(Which I didn't feel was surprising considering that I've vented about the game so much on this blog, I'm sorry for that). I wouldn't be getting rid of it and I would be heading back to it eventually, but I just needed to step away and really think about what I wanted to do. At this point in time I'm still questioning what I want to do. Long story short Mine won't be getting released any time soon and it needs a lot of work to be done on it, in every way.
I think my biggest issue was rushing into this project. I was so SO excited to just get my story out and talk about my characters and ideas, but I had almost nothing set in stone or planned out. Some of my favorite story aspects I created after I made this blog, granted it wasn't a obvious change since it had to do with spoilers, and story aspect kind of just fit together to make a bigger plot twist. I still love what I've created thus far, but it needs so much work, and it feels weird and off to have changes just happen with the characters and story.
I was getting bored of certain characters and the art style. I won't be getting rid of any characters because even the ones who don't seem that important to the overall plot are still important, but I'll be changing/upgrading character designs. And especially changing the art style. I was really disliking my style for Mine and even more so after the Halloween drawing. I did practice around a bit and I found a style I like, but it's still not set in stone.
Tumblr media
This is kind of what I was thinking. The eyes have a more defined shape, the nose is different, the hair is more detailed. I've also been wanted to mess around with coloring and shading. And once again this style is not set in stone, but this is what I'm leaning towards as of now. I want the game to have an anime style for reasons, but I did also try a style that's more mine I guess? Like I drew Yani in the style I draw in the most, the style that's most consistent to me. I mainly did this because one my bestfriends has been helping me sort out my own feelings and she said to at least try a more cartoon style even if the anime style is what I'm aiming for in the end.
Tumblr media
I obviously I do like the style, but it's just not what I'm going for, so I was going to try drawing different eyes styles and then I would build a face to match that.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I did like these, but it didn't inspire me and I didn't want these for Mine. So this is what I've been working on for now, I'm trying t build my interest in this story again. I know I've talked about it before, but Yani and Jun's designs are the ones I'm most proud about(maybe Aki as well, if I change anything it wouldn't be too extreme), but the other characters will be getting an upgrade, in design, story, and personality.
Minato in particular. I feel so bad because as much as I like Minato, he feels so plain to me. Like I don't have fun writing him or drawing him. There are things I do really enjoy about him, like his hair style, and his yellow eyes. But I'm bored with pretty much everything else about him, and that's not a good sign, he's the first route, the first character to be released. he needs something to draw in the player, but I don't feel like he has that. I don't know where to really go with him though. I think the fact that he's the least yandere is charming and important, like to lure the player into a false sense of security, almost as if they were just playing a normal visual novel/dating sim with routes, and then the creepy stuff starts mainly happening with the other routes, but obviously I need something to make his route exciting.
In the meantime asks will most likely not be answered until I've figured the characters out more. When I figure out the characters as well, I want to go back and slowly work on updating previous asks to fit the new personality and stories. I'll probably make a poll on how to go about that just in case people want the old answered asks or something. Maybe I could just do something like-
Old: bhjdhsvjagjhasgd
New: VHJDhfdjgshdf
I don't know as of now. I also want to go back and update my 100 followers event drawings, and obviously finish that. Which by the way I am so sorry to everyone who sent in requests, for that event and just in general. Me struggling with Mine's art style has been a thing, even with the refs, there were some refs that I just hated how they turned out(cough cough Hoshi). I also have been practicing with more cartoon(?) styles, so working on a game with an anime style reminds me of my past styles, which I hated because I got those feeling of hating my style or falling behind my peers who were finding their style. I'm a lot better with it now, but I felt like I was falling back into old habits/styles, and it was upsetting.
While I was planning my hiatus, I kept thinking about some of my other game ideas because if I was going to go on hiatus I would focus on another one of my games with a more simple style(Since I wondered if complexity of the style was also an issue for my lack of motivation with Mine), and I do like my other games and ideas and characters, but none of hem were appealing to me like how Mine did. I went into Mine so excited and ready to talk and share my characters, but with my other stories I was just feeling more unmotivated with them, other then "The Magi Academy" which makes sense since that is my comfort story but also I'm gonna work on this in the background since the game is huge.
Another thing I thought about doing while on hiatus was making a test game, where I get used to making games, where I practice. Cause Mine is my first game, but I'm not sure I want it to actually be my first game, but I have no interest in my other games as of now so this game would be simple, a little test to get used to everything that comes with making a game. I'll probably work on this while I'm working on the art style for Mine and the character designs. It will have multiple routes and characters. I wouldn't really call it a dating sim, there will be romance elements but I think more then anything it will be a little "get to know my oc's" type story. Maybe I'll talk about it more if anyone if interested. Although when I make games in the future I'll either make the blogs later, when the game is almost finished or if finished, or at least claim the name and work on them later.
I'd say that Mine is going on a hiatus, at least with this blog, but I will be working on it! Mine won't be getting released soon and when I made this blog I didn't expect Mine to come out this year. Another thing I want to end up doing is dev logs, maybe weekly or monthly, it won't happen soon, but eventually I want to do dev logs. As of now though, I have a lot to think about with the characters and the story/stories. I'll probably work on character personalities and stories before their actual design so I can get back to writing asks, and then I'll be redoing refs and any bigger drawings I've done so far. I also want to have a schedule for answering asks, so I'll probably spend the weekends answering asks and then the weekdays I'll be working on the game, but this is for the future. My ask box and messages will be open though if anyone has any questions :3 I hope that this will help me regain the passion and excitement that I hold for this story, have a great day/night, and thank you for you continued support🩵

I'm so sorry if it's too long but I just did a reread and decided to take a look at the designs on Toyhouse and it reminded me how much I love IHS.
I love all the designs of your characters, they are so deliberate. Take the Golden Grove family for example. Their fur colours perfectly match the name of this pride - all characters from this place are golden/have fur that's a certain shade of gold. Just by looking at them you can tell that they're related. But that's not everything.
I looked at the designs of three sisters and their parents and I noticed how some of the traits of their parents can be found in their daughters. Vicious is almost a copy of her mother Watchful, while Clever looks so much like her father Wild. They all have respectively a similar coIours and face shapes. In all of that Careful, the middle child here, is a perfect combination of her parents - she has her father's muzzle shape and eyes shape but her colour palette is more like her mother's. All marks are placed with so much thought that they help to recognise a character. The funny thing about the similarities with parents is that you probably created sisters first and then their parents - so you actually had to take a look at the sisters and then create their parents. While making sure everything made sense.
I tried to find similarities with Hope, Adamant and Quiet but I find it a bit harder, maybe cause they're still young. But older Hope definitely reminds me of Clever and Careful, rather than Vicious. Maybe it's the fur on her cheeks. I noticed that Adamant has the same fur colour as her grandfather, Jasper the First and I find it cute. And of course, how could I not mention Breccia and her freckles that she gave to all of her grandchildren. I love them <3
What I mean to say is that I adore how much thought and effort you put into your story. Every time I reread I find something new to adore. I love the plot and world, but I really like how you also put effort into your designs. You manage to make all characters stand out and be easy to recognise but you also find a way to make sure that audience can tell who is related to who. Thank you so much <3
And tbh I really like the new schedule with a page for week.
Well first of all, I do love a good wall of text, so don't apologize haha
Second, I'm glad you like the new schedule. It's actually activated the speculation part of the fandom, which we also love LOL
Third, THIS MAKES ME HAPPY! I love when people go back and notice the details we included. I did work backwards from the sisters to the parents, just because we had no intention on showing the grandparents, but people asked and I thought they'd be fun to design too. And they were! (This is to go with a previous ask, but this is also part of why we did away with color-coding, just cuz Wildfire looked great as a blonde, but maybe he's from somewhere sandy, who knows.) And it was interesting distributing all the different characteristics of them. Still not satisfied with Careful, I wish I'd thought on her a biiiiiiiit longer. I just didn't think anyone would care about her LOL
Hope will look more like Clever when she gets older, so once I can properly elongate her face, it'll be more obvious. I'm slowwwwwly gonna show them aging, Storm's hair will get longer, Adamant will be more buff, stuff like that. Right now (and people will see this on next week's page) Hope actually looks pretty similar to Careful. Careful just has to pull some more... Hopelike faces first for it to be obvious haha
Overall I'm happy with the designs and it brings me much joy to have people analyze them. Character concept is one of my favorite things to do, and I like being creative while being limited at the same time. Lions are a good way to practice that. So thank you again! - Cat

Nuts and Bolts: Jump-Starting Stories
(Reposting a 2013 post from the Anna Katherine co-tumblr)
Because I just did this, here you go: Some simple ways to start a story, particularly if you don’t know what you want to write about, but you know you need to write something. (For money, for practice, for mental health, for whatever.)
Standard caveats apply. 1. The reason advice looks contradictory is because it literally is different for everyone — shit that works for one person won’t work for someone else. Just stick it in your toolbox and move along. 2. I will say obvious shit that you already know. Because it’s possible somebody else doesn’t. 3. You may totally disagree with anything/everything I say, oh my god, that’s fine.
::::
1. A line of dialogue. Particularly one that makes no sense, so you have to then have a second character explain it.
“You said what to the Queen?”
—Instantly you have to answer who said it, what was said, why it was scandalous, who the queen is, what she’s queen of, and who actually spoke the dialogue. Getting all that exposition in gracefully is at least 150 words right there.
2. (All of my points are going to boil down to variants of point 1, so, you know, grab a soda or something.)
3. A sudden burst of action. A nice explosion, maybe, or someone getting knocked unconscious unexpectedly. In medias res is always a pleasant place to start. You’ll want to start with a brief sentence that makes the reader empathize with whatever you’ve decided to blow up, and then destroy it in the second sentence, as that’s more fun.
"The Manor had been in the Candleford family for generations, a bit more curly-topped and hodge-podge than most stately noble homes. It burned for three days before anyone could put it out.”
—Now explain how that happened, or what happens next, or who’s affected, or who did it.
4. A vivid description. This one can be a bit tricky, as it can all too easily go on too long. I’d stay away from vivid descriptions of landscapes or weather or other (dare I say it) fairly boring things. Corpses — those are fun. Terrible kisses. A really interesting tentacle that maybe is touching something else that’s about to become interesting because, hey, tentacle.
“The running shoe was worn along the edges, and had a rubbed patch in the heel. It was pink and grey, and the laces were still tied, clearly toed off after a return to the house. The inspector stared at the shoe that lay on its side on the landing, and wondered where the other one was.”
Once you’ve got a couple of sentences of vivid description, stop and backfill with exposition — why are we seeing this thing? Who’s seeing it? What are they going to do with this information? As you can see, I couldn’t help but add in the inspector looking at the shoe — it just sort of starts to fill itself in.
5. A terrible secret that you don’t want anyone to know about yourself. Writing is frequently auto-cannibalism. You take parts of yourself and you write them into your stories to make them real. So if you need to write something, and you’re not sure what to write, dig out one of your secrets and give it to a character.
I wrote a horror story (still haunting some editor’s slushpile [eta 2023: it was bought!]) about the weird urge I had when I’d had abdominal surgery to dig around in there afterward — I didn’t actually follow through in real life, but I decided to write a story about a character who did. Use first person POV if you have to, but it’ll definitely get something on the page.
.
+1. After you’ve got a story going, you can go back and delete whatever you started with. Nothing says you have to keep what got the motor running.
+2. If you’re interested, my sentence for this evening was: “It would be a bit much to say that the kiss was magical.”

Ill stop being a broken record soon (about sherlock chapter one anyway - im just starting the next game and WILL be blathering about it lol)
If you do want to play a be-sherlock simulator? Sherlock Holmes Chapter One is worth checking out. Or if, like me, you like detective games generally (i recommend Judgement by the way if thats your vibe), id also say pick this up because the freedom to make wrong deductions and decide outcomes is quite the unique choice and its interesting to see. Many detective games can give you a case to solve (and as a story nerd id like to solve them thoroughly and correctly). And they'll hold your hand to some extent because u generally do Need to solve the cases to continue the game. Now, SHCO does to an extent hold your hand, with the typical gameplay tools and by providing eventual paths To Progress the cases in some direction depending on how many clues you find and deductions you put together in the mind palace. But because most of the cases have areas you can be wrong and progress, or pick from multiple viable options to decide what happened, and just the fact you decide the final outcome for that accused... fascinating. It means the case writing is interesting enough you do guess to yourself who did it, and regularly change your guess based on evidence, and theres no obvious BAM for sure guess (in contrast simpler detective shows like some cdramas i love often have easy to guess perpetrators once you learn the writing pattern). When i saw this game's reviews, people seemed mixed on this particular feature of the game. Since it means theres many points where you feel either theres no True perpetrator and the game changes it, or you feel theres no power to determine the Truth.
But i think... partly thats the point. Verner (lol) wont shut up about his opinion of many things possibly mattering more than the truth, and in true frustrating fashion you are JUST as aggravated as Sherlock is by the difficulty in Absolutely being sure of the Truth. And that frustration, and experience, is hammered home in the very final decision of the game: deciding the answer to the main question you started this journey for. You can pick any of the answers. You'll get its own ending. Sherlock will be certain he deduced the truth. Or at least, as certain as you Or him can be... when any 4 of those scenarios might be the truth as far as you can tell. Sherlock's shaken, and maybe he isn't convinced of the truth being certain any more than you are... but he does DECIDE on an answer to live with. He is unsure whats true, but picks one of many possible truths and gives himself closure with it. A very relatable though painful experience pretty much everyone does in life at some point.
And i think thats a big reason they designed so many cases that way. Its not that the game's whole story is unfirm, or the cases stories are inconsequential. No. Its just that the point is in the meaning you take from a world you can never fully completely be sure of, how you pick what to base your life on when you can only be sure of your own reasoning. But no mattwr how much you wish to control life by understanding it, you can never fully understand it, never fully know everything. Ambiguity is part of life and life is impossible to fully control. The cases are like that so you feel like Sherlock, trying desperately to nail down a firm reliable truth to make sense of a messy stressful uncontrollable world.
So like. From a story perspective? The choice serves the game's themes and point well.
From a detective game perspective? Its very fun if ur trying to feel like a detective, to get some stories where you actually turn over your guesses and contemplate and feel you need to really delve in the clues thoughtfully, if u want to draw the best conclusions u can.

send me a character and i’ll list:
Mikel!
oooh, this is an interesting one
i once told a friend, i forget who, that Mikel is what an AI would spit out if i gave it a bunch of traits i find desirable in a man. and fitting for an AI, mikel isn't actually someone i want in that way, if that makes sense? he's kind of...uncanny valley. off-putting. not quite "inscrutable," but, hmmm. sort of like his life partner granit, he's unlike anyone else out there, but in a very different way than granit is.
favorite thing about them: the passion, the stubbornness, the slight insanity, the toothy-grinned charisma. i think he'd be a great politician, which is a compliment in a sense that i love politicians in an academic sort of way (hate them in practice, with very few exceptions). the behind the scenes machinations re: auba's departure in all or nothing were kind of terrifying and fascinating at once. also, what he did for granit literally brings me to tears. it's the disney love story that disney love stories want to be. oh, also his ass. what the fuck kind of workouts is he doing
also random fun fact: his older sister is a bougie artist who lives in mallorca year-round
least favorite thing about them: a) what he's doing to aaron ramsdale. b) that he's a native speaker of euskera but he's NEVER spoken it anywhere. it is a beautiful language and i'd love to hear him speak it. mikel, your less hot counterpart xabi has spoken it in interviews, get on it
favorite line:
Tumblr media
brotp: xabi alonso! i don't really ship them romantically, but i do love that they've known each other for so long and their lives periodically intertwine, like right now with granit.
notp: kloppteta (i don't really ship kloppo with anyone, sry guys!)
otp: runners up: pepteta, & mikel and tim cahill back in everton (they...TRULY were a force of nature in those olde interviews)
The winner...
XHAKARTETA
maybe, in some ways, The Best OTP Of All Time (*aside from rakidrić). it's everything, everything.
i write about it a lot on here from the perspective of what Xhakarteta did for granit, and will do that again in my granit ask. i think it wasn't as obvious specifically what it did for mikel until granit left and mikel really seems to have lost his marbles a little. i have the feeling that mikel doesn't fully respect that many people, or trust that many people, and i think his utter and complete respect/trust for granit was a relief to him, and having granit around as his true equal did more for his stability than he knew.
plus they're gorgeous together physically. imagine their kids! like. damn. they'd also speak some of the coolest languages on the planet.
xhakarteta is weird because i bash on my own writing a lot, but i'm really satisfied with how i write and interpret them. i give them that little exciting something extra 😈
random headcanon: mikel probably has the most basic milquetoast liberal politics on the planet
unpopular opinion: he looked better with the Rangers-era long hair and he needs his earring back! i don't know how unpopular that is on tumblr, but i think it's unpopular with him lol
song i associate with them: i have a couple, but as with most footballers my song associations are kind of on superficial levels (franko and my movren mix being the exceptions)
bulería by david bisbal - wrong part of spain, but this song goes harder than any song should be going, and i love the DRAMA, and also that line -- "quiero ser tu calma y tu tempestad" -- i want to be your calm and your storm -- That's Xhakarteta !!!
favorite picture of them: ok, i'm sure at least one person will predict what i'm going to choose:
Tumblr media
-2004, glasgow. so many photos i could have picked, but at the same time like...yeah!

Why do i feel like people in the fandom hate Will stans for wanting the best for his character? I thought everyone wanted that, but then I see people making fun of us for making everything about Will. Mind you, the entire show wouldn’t exist without him. He’s confirmed to be the focus of next season. El stans hate him for obvious reasons, and mike stans feel like he’s taking away from mike’s storyline. idk I just thought I would feel more welcome on tumblr (compared to twt), but I really don’t. I ask you because you’re one of my favorite blogs on here, and I love the Will=Jesus theory!!
Hiya anon,
First off, thanks for reading my Will Jesus theories! Your compliment is greatly appreciated!
Second off, I don't think I see the same type of atmosphere surrounding Will that you do, although I don't doubt that it exists. Maybe it's just because of the blogs I choose to follow or what, I can also imagine that things over on twitter probably feel pretty tumultuous though.
I mean, I do have a Will bias and I do make everything about Will 😂 sometimes I disclaim that when making my theory posts but sometimes I don’t. Will has been my favorite since the first season, and then once I heard that he was gonna be the focus next season after being shafted from the action for so long, something definitely clicked in my brain and all I’ve been doing since vol. 2 came out is running through every possible scenario regarding Will in my head. I would be straight up lying if I didn’t say I had a Will bias and that it doesn’t inform my theory posts at all. I do try to be realistic, and I KNOW that not everything is about Will, but I’m also just having fun try to support my theories with substantial evidence.
I kinda think that everyone has a character bias though??? And I don’t think that’s a bad thing??? People have a Will bias, or a Mike bias, or a Henry bias or an El bias etc. I make my little posts and I explain why I think the way I do and other people make their posts and explain why they think the way they do and I may disagree with them but also idrc??? In the long run it’s really not that deep.
It’s interesting that you bring up the point about taking away from other characters storylines, because I’ve also seen that take before and I… can kinda see what they’re talking about in some regards but I also disagree on the whole. I don’t think that two characters having similar storylines doesn’t mean that one is taking away from the other. In fact, I would say that giving multiple characters similar storylines might be there in order to help flesh out an idea. Usually there are certain topics, such as abuse, sexuality, family etc that are multi-faceted and complex, so it would make sense to use multiple characters to express different aspects of a certain topic, rather than just one character which may present a narrow point of view. Both Mike and Will can have internalized homophobia, both Will and Henry can have stories about abuse, both Will and El can have stories about powers because the show is likely trying to show different angles on similar topics.
I remember seeing an argument awhile back about whether or not Mike or Will would be Vecna’d, and I don’t understand why it can’t be both of them? Just because one get’s Vecna’d doesn’t mean that the other can’t, I don’t see it as mutually exclusive. Just because one character deals with their own trauma doesn’t mean the other one can’t.
Tumblr media
But yeah, that’s my little spiel. tldr; I think everyone has a character bias and it’s not a bad thing, and two character’s can have similar stories without it impeding on the other.

I don’t know if you answer asks so although I want your input on this, i’m not really expecting it so don’t feel pressured!
But basically, I just wanted to say I absolutely LOVE your writing. You’re seriously one of my favorite writers and I literally read all your stuff. But specifically I wanted to ask about Anti-Hero.
I’m a writer as well and I’m trying to figure out how exactly to write a fic. I’m kind of struggling with working with an overarching plot (like Robbie’s concussion, in yours) and balancing it with what people actually came there to see (yknow the actual ship). But you literally did it so well like everything with Robbie’s arch felt so relevant and interesting, even when technically the reason I started reading it was for Daniel and Johnny.
So I guess I’m just asking for tips. Like how to balance out your writing easily with that you know. And kind of just advice for writing a fic in general? Of course if that’s not too much, that kinda feels extra.
But anyway, if this ends up staying in your inbox, I just want you to know how actually HYPED I am for that good omens fic. I absolutely love good omens and i’ve never been more excited to see someone write for characters. Lots of love!
Hi! First of all, thank you very much for your sweet message! I’m very glad my writing and especially Anti-Hero means enough to you that you came to reach out for advice! <3
I hope this is not too basic, but here are some things I think might be helpful:
1. In terms of balancing different plot elements: You need to „braid“ the plot strands into each other. A development in one strand must have consequences in the others. The consequences can be small, but they need to be obvious! Robby’s head injury gives Johnny an opportunity to step up as a father, which makes a positive impression on Daniel. The matchmaking progress in turn gives Robby a sense of purpose. It ties into Robby's character development and his view of himself. This means Lawrusso moments are significant for Robby’s character arc, and Robby’s character arc is significant for future Lawrusso moments. Once I’ve established that connection, I don’t need to convince my audience to not ‚skip‘ through the Robby plot, because the Robby plot is an integral part of the Lawrusso plot. They wouldn’t work without each other.
2. General advice: Make sure that you’re having fun! It honestly sounds so cliche but I can always tell when a writer’s heart is really in it, and that makes the reading more enjoyable. If you’re passionate about something, it shines through. Go with the idea that makes you foam at the mouth, not just what you think the fandom will like. I had the most fun with „there’s daggers in men’s smiles“ because it allowed me to highlight one of my passions (fencing) and what I love about it. It’s not my most popular story, but it’s currently my favorite, and I was always very motivated to work on it.
3. If you’re writing multi-chapter: Have an ending in mind. I’ve had a lot of story ideas, but the ones that have a specific ending planned are so much easier to work on because I feel like I’m working toward a goal. With romance, I encourage you to get a bit more specific than just "They get together". I knew from the get-go I wanted Anti-Hero to end with Robby in the hospital after a second head injury, but this time there actually would be something going on between Johnny and Daniel. I knew the revelation of Robby’s misunderstanding would be the catalyst for Johnny and Daniel confessing to each other. I didn’t know how, where or when this would all happen, but having a general idea of the ending in mind gave me a sense of direction that made writing a lot easier.
4. Optional: Knowing someone who knows the source material but isn’t hanging out on AO3 regularly makes it easier to stay in the original character voices. I didn’t have a beta reader in the classical sense, but I let my partner read every line of dialogue before posting it so they could tell me „I don’t think Daniel would say it that way“. It only happened two or three times, but I know it would have bothered me. If you want to consciously blend Fanon into your story, that doesn’t really apply, of course.
5. Skeleton Method: If you have a lot of ideas and struggle to get them written down, try writing the dialogue first (as if you're writing the script for a play). The dialogue is the "skeleton" of a scene. It's the most solid part, and gestures / feelings / reactions / descriptions are the squishy parts around it that make it come alive. Once the dialogue is doing what you need it to do, it's easier to fill the gaps and create a scene that will feel natural.
Also, I’m so glad you’re excited for my Good Omens fic! I generally don’t start posting multi-chapter fics until I’m 90-95% done writing them, and at the moment it’s still missing a few chapters. But it’s the project I’m most actively working on (besides my Carmanda one shot). Coming this year!
Best of luck with your story, too! Let me know if you want more specific advice.

I know you have the vaguest idea of what happens in ggy (pretty sure you've read a summary??) but let's say Scott emails you for a once in a life time opportunity where you get to rewrite it for fun, what would you change about it
(Yeah I’ve read a summary, at some point I gotta read the actual story but uhh Not Today)
Discarding the opportunity to simply delete it and walk away, because I want to actually entertain this idea, there are two ways I would go, I think.
One: GGY becomes VNY. Make it a story about Vanny’s corruption to put her back in the spotlight. I made a short fic on my Ao3 I’m not gonna promo here that’s similar to this, but a more in-depth version. Luis would work great as Vanny’s Tony Becker. The story takes place in an office building instead of at school, and VNY is the mysterious hacker revealed to be killing off everyone who gets close to the truth. Princess Quest connections and allegories would be EVERYWHERE. Slowly it begins to eat away at Luis, who becomes paranoid and anxious when handling technology, and eventually even develops a fear of things as simple as rabbits as it just gets deep under his skin. What the replacement for the story that Tony, Greg and Ellis are writing is I’m not sure. Maybe some sort of a tech project Vanny sabotages last second and then she plays upset, is all I’m so sorry Luis I don’t know what happened, I was trying to add my finishing touches and it just seemed like everything I changed made it worse, if you want you could come over to my place and we could talk about how to fix it over dinner and some drinks? and Luis is blindsided by Vanny actually returning his interest and doesn’t even think that he could be getting lured.
Two: Just make some tweaks to the overall plot to make it suck less. Mainly, if GGY is a Glitchtrap follower, make that obvious. Maybe his friends see him talking to things that aren’t there, that kind of thing. Make him more insecure about handling tech because in SB he obviously does not know what he’s doing. Reference something going on with his parents. Maybe they’re dead, maybe they die during the story, idc. I want Gregory to be clearly troubled in some way. Make the therapists actually be therapists because clearly, clearly, Scott Cawthon does not know the difference. Simple guide: therapists work with schools. School counselors also work with schools. However, therapists are therapists who work in other places and school counselors are not. Plus, as I calculated at one point, 79 biweekly therapy sessions would equate to about three years in therapy. Assuming they’re weekly, that would make it like a year and a half. This would require them to be going on outside of school as well. So it makes a lot more sense if it’s actual therapists who have multiple clients attending the school. Would I still hate it? Yeah, but I’d have a much easier time liking it if it was better written and actually fit Gregory’s character instead of trying to warp him into the Patient 46 mold.
Or, a fucked up and sad extra third option that only fits my own AU: imply that Gregory is not actually doing any of this, but is instead intentionally making himself look sinister to muddy the truth about who’s behind the hacking and… murders. Because someone he loves is behind it and he’s trying to protect them. (Specifically, in my AU, this would be Valentine/Vanny. His older sister and one of his only friends. He really, really believes in saving her, and trying to protect her from what she’s doing under this control would be in line with that.)

I've been revisiting youtubers recently. some I like under the cut
Folding Ideas: a marvelously well-spoken social and media critic, with commentary on symbolism in film. his breakdowns of the editing failures of films such as Suicide Squad and The Snowman are entertaining and informative, and he has mini-episodes on narrative concepts like Thermian arguments (the Watsonian of Watsonian vs. Doylist explanations) and ludonarrative dissonance. politically on top of it (mostly), extremely astute, and a pleasure to listen to. See Earthsea and Adaptation Sickness, End of Evangelion and the Audience Author Membrane, The Thermian Argument, The Art of Editing and Suicide Squad, Cinematic Trainwreck – The Snowman: A Vlog, Cooking Food On The Internet For Fun And Profit, Annihilation and Decoding Metaphor
Ariel Bissett: a delightful young Canadian book reviewer takes us on her journey of renovating her old house. mostly cosmetic changes rather than structural as she's essentially self-taught, but she's a charismatic and charming host with a unique eye for style and color. her design sense matches closely with my own (we're both Monet fans), so I find her videos very soothing and satisfying to watch. I haven't seen any of her book reviews, but she seems thoughtful and passionate. I like all her house videos, but particularly the three yearly house tours so far (intro video, one year in, two years in,), Building The Perfect Guest Room, Complete Office Renovation!, Living Room Renovation To Look Like Emma's House!, Building The Perfect Reading Nook, Transforming the Smallest Room In My House With Wallpaper, and honestly all the others. it's a real pleasure to see the changes she makes over the months. I can't wait for the kitchen redo!
Accented Cinema: probably my favorite youtuber right now. he's a Chinese Canadian filmmaker with a focus on films and film-making processes, both his own and those from China (most often) and other non-American countries (occasionally). his videos have brought me to tears more than once. honestly I love too many to list all of them so I'll just list my top favorites but I highly recommend this channel. I loved Why China Cared About Kung Fu Panda, Shadow: Adapting Chinese Art, Who Killed Captain Alex: What Makes a Movie Good?, Chinese Animation: In Search of a Style (brief shot of mdzs donghua at the very end), Why Ghibli's First 3D Looks Soulless, East vs. West: Differences in Story Philosophy, Mahjong & Crazy Rich Asians, Why Are Kung Fu Movies So Patriotic, How I Made a Fake Video Essay
Local Script Man: a professional screenwriter whose advice and commentary on creating stories is really interesting and different than what you tend to see on tumblr. he tends to be kind of harsh but not in mean-spirited way, just in a way that makes it obvious that he knows what he's talking about. I like Oops No Plot, The Key to Writing Freakishly Good Dialogue, and both parts of 5 Essential Storytelling Rules I Just Made Up (part 1, part 2)
Schaffrillas Productions: a guy breaks down and ranks various animated films, often by studio. these videos are just a lot of fun. I liked his videos on the Shrek franchise (one, two, three, four, and the musical), and Raya vs. Encanto - How One Message Failed and Another Succeeded
Super Eyepatch Wolf: this man is, as we speak, convincing me to read Berserk. he has a slow, dramatic presentation of his arguments that draw you in and a great sense of humor. All of his "Why You Should Watch" videos are interesting even if you don't have any plans to watch the show he's describing, because they give an overview of the themes and strengths without spoiling it. he also presents a wealth of information on manga/anime history, and miscellaneous commentary on other media. I liked in particular The Fall of The Simpsons: How it Happened, "Non Battle" Battle Anime, What Makes A Fight Scene Interesting?, The Impact of Dragon Ball Z: The Series that Changed Everything, Why You Should Watch Yu Yu Hakusho, What Makes A Good Character Design?,
Cinema Therapy: these two guys are charming and sometimes funny. they can get annoying and their analyses tend to be very superficial, but I really like their videos tearing into bad romantic cliches. I like 10 TROPES We Hate About Rom Coms, 7 Tips from THE ADDAMS FAMILY to Keep Your Marriage Alive, TITANIC: Love Triangles and Compatibility, Therapist Reacts to THE KISSING BOOTH (Part 1, Part 2), Relationship Therapist Ranks Christmas Romances with guest Shona Kay
Sideways: a channel about music! knowing nothing about music at all, I find these videos really interesting and accessible. see Why the Music in Cats (2019) is Worse than you Thought, Why Pipe Organs Sound Scary, Decoding the Music of The Matrix, Why Avatar has the Most Ironic Soundtrack of All Time, Why the Soundtrack to Shrek is Actually Genius, Ear Training and Sight Singing: The Superpower you get from Music School, Why "Spoken Word" Makes me Nervous
Pop Culture Detective: I like this channel for the analyses of troubling tropes in media, especially the ones on misogyny. See Marvel Defenders of The Status Quo, The Ethics of Looking And The “Harmless” Peeping Tom, Born Sexy Yesterday, The Complicity of Geek Masculinity on the Big Bang Theory, Sexual Assault of Men Played for Laughs (Part one, Part two), Stranger Things, Belligerent Romance, and the Danger of Nostalgia
favorite misc videos here

Is Hardenshipping canonn?
Honestly wanna say no bc. Like. Obviously it's never been explicitly stated. So. No.
HOWEVER it is very fun and personally rewarding to speculate so. Thats under cut
Hehevwgeh they do have a lot of overlapping themes in their characters that i really love pointing out so whhhgh i'll just list them because surprise surprise (not a surprise this happens every single time) once i talk about something i like my brain turns to mulch and i can't essay like i usually do.
So, interesting things (minus images for most bc i dont feel like finding them)
-there's a mention of how they apparently used to be on the same team at some point in the past (i have a funny hc/au for what this "same team" is but i've yet to even mention or draw for it oops)
-the end of the main story where they reconcile. Just that entire scene (i've only really seen the alpha sapphire ver. Of this scene but whatever. Have seen the omega ruby one but i forgor what they say help)
-not really a. Like hardenshipping thing but OUGHGJJ MY GOOODDDD.... the very prevalent parallels between them and their respective legendaries. The constant feud and anger that kyogre and groudon hold for each other- the only break from their fights being brought on by rayquaza FORCING them to stop (the player being the rayquaza in this situation, hint hint). Rayquaza coming down from the sky to keep two idiots from killing everybody. Small child blasting through an entire evil corporation to keep two idiots from killing everybody. Literally the same.
Theres no way this could be just subtext, i feel like they kind of intended for people to make this connection its just one of those things thats SO obvious but still so fun to point out. I love symbolism and subtext and reading between the lines and *explodes*
-Another thing i find interesting is their outer shell compared to their actual personalities and ideals.
Archie seems very friendly and lighthearted (at least compared to maxie being an uppity dick). He uses more kind language when referring to the player- kind being less professional and less detached. He comes off as much more relaxed, but he holds a concerning amount of apathy towards humankind. Team aqua's goal was to drown everyone, thinking that if they did then the world would be perfect for pokemon to thrive in. Archie wanted to flood the world with the wellbeing of pokemon in mind. (Which. How the fuck does that even work) (also opens up the speculation of what could've possibly made him care so little for people's wellbeing, and what made him care for the lives of pokemon so much more)
Maxie comes off very cold. He tries to be professional. While archie saying scamp comes off as playful, maxie calling you "child" just instantly hits as condescending. (Can you tell i love-hate this fucking toxic slutch monster) (another btw, in his defeat animation he loses his cool for a sec and freaks out before composing himself, when you'd expect something like this from archie. Archie's lose animation is leagues calmer. Although this is a really small detail i feel like it gives great insight into their actual personalities. I love small details hoohoo) and even though he acts like this, he cares a lot for other people and made his team's goal to dry up all the water so humans had more land and could advance quicker. maxie wanted to dry everything up with the wellbeing of people in mind.
(Which, again, HOW THE FUCK DOES THAT WORK????? PEOPLE NEED DRINKING WATER???? HELLO???????????????)
-as per previous points, they are both very, very dumb.
-and oh yeah. The model boats. Oh my god. I lose my MIND over this little thing they share in particular because uuoiuuhsaaaaaaaagh. AAAAAGHHH.
Archie having a model ship makes sense, you know? He loves the sea- wants to drown everybody- yeah. It makes sense that he has a model ship.
But maxie. Woagh. Woauagh. Bro. What if we had matching model ships. And we were both boys (i say matching bc the 3ds overworld isn't very detailed so they look the same. Could be different for all we know.)
Why would maxie have a ship? He wants to dry up the sea. It's pretty safe to say he's either indifferent to sea-based travel, or he hates it. Boats, ferrys, ships, those wont be needed in the world he wants to create. But he has a model ship in his bedroom. A model ship that is absolutely spotless, not a single mote of dust.
Why does he take such good care of something that- according to the rest of his character and motivations- he shouldn't care about?
(Could those matching model ships that they have be something significant from their past when they were on good terms? Maybe something to do with that same team they were on?)
-also there's this which is worth mentioning i think because damn.
Tumblr media
Theres more stuff that i could mention but paraphrasing is exhausting and my brain has shriveled up.

Are there more c-bxg fans in the fandom or more international fans? twitter and tumblr are dominated by i-fans for obvious reasons because c-fans don’t have easy access to these platforms but does weibo consist of more c-fans?
This is an interesting question, Anon. Let's dig into it a bit.
I suspect there are many more C-BXG than international BXG, but I can't say that with certainty. I don't know about fan demographic percentages - I have no access to those numbers (I don't think anyone does) - but the fandom does center primarily around C-BXG and their activities, whether international fans are aware of it or not. It's something even seasoned international turtles might not be fully aware of.
Almost ALL the candies we see, almost all the fake rumors and fan reports, etc., come from Chinese social media and/or Chinese BXG. Even the ones you see on Twitter or YouTube or here on Tumblr will in most cases have originated in the C-fandom. International fans will pick things up from Weibo or Douyin or other Chinese social media platforms, translate them and post them on international platforms.
(BTW, Weibo is a Chinese platform and the vast majority of BXG active on the supertopics are Chinese).
Not everything originates in the C-fandom, of course. Sometimes we as international turtles will pick up on something on our own (for example, we'll notice something in a photo or a video clip and develop our own theories and post about it or bring it up in international circles), but most of the time things originate on the supertopic or somewhere else on C-social media and are transplanted onto international platforms.
When the legwork has been done by C-BXG and their work is being translated and brought here, reputable international turtles will credit the original author and link to their original post. Other times we compile information ourselves and develop our own theories, etc. and we are the authors of those posts, but even then, we are doing most of our research through Weibo or C-social media.
A lot of the things coming from YouTube and Twitter especially, which i-BXG seem to eat up and get very excited about (but which are misleading, inaccurate or simply invented) are taken wholesale from Chinese social media and presented as original content. So yeah, even a lot of the toxic garbage comes from C-social media. And that stuff is often the funniest, in a dark humor sort of way, because they're stealing garbage from someone toxic and presenting it as their own. Toxic people exploiting each other. Fun times...
Anyway, long story short - when you see something about GG and DD anywhere on international social media, there is a very high likelihood it didn't originate on international social media, but rather it originated with Chinese social media and Chinese BXG.
And this should all make perfect sense when you think about it. After all, GG and DD are Chinese, and most of what we know about them wouldn't even exist if it weren't for C-BXG. International fans have almost no direct access to GGDD.
And not just candy, info, repos, etc., but also charity work in GGDD's name, fan works and photos, etc. etc. Most of this comes from C-BXG. The big exception would be fanfic. Most English fanfic comes from i-fans. Unfortunately very few GGDD fanfics have been translated from the Chinese fandom.
And also people trying to make candy out of nationalistic or propaganda posts. That is something that is absolutely not done in the c-fandom (and really shouldn't be done in the international fandom either), for reasons that will be obvious once you read this post.
Thank a translator, today and every day.

today, i watched 'saw V', and i actually REALLY LIKED IT IT WAS GREAT ‼️‼️
firstly, the story here is actually quite simple once you cross the hurdles of not being able to tell hoffman and strahm apart (had to look down at the neck area to check for the bandage whenever a black haired white man appeared on screen), and piece together the timeline yourself - though after a good few flashbacks i was able to make sense of what was going on. the plot revolving around the 5 stuck in the trap was reminiscent of saw II but still very unique and interesting - their hostility towards each other which subsequently led to their deaths was also pretty cool, and i like how if they had worked together, they would've survived.
while the ending twist was something that was kinda obvious about 10 minutes before it was revealed, i still :0'd when the theme started playing because the ending coffin/walls closing in trap was super cool! in fact all the traps here are solid - my favorites being of course the final hoffman/strahm doomed yaoi trap and the murderer guy's trap from the beginning. the gore here is also great - i really like the look of the intestines practical effect (at least i think it's practical effects) that they've been using. the aftermath of the blood box trap with the split apart arms was also gross and cool. the editing also holds up now - still silly and overdramatic as ever, but the sound effects that they've been using (like the pig squeal when kramer and hoffman attack the barbed wire trap guy/phil) are really fun. the colors in this movie are also genuinely gorgeous and set the tone and atmosphere of the scenes amazingly.
the saw series of course is still suffering from its convolutedness which is worsening with each chapter. sometimes i really have no clue what's going on - that being said, sometimes they'll express the obvious (like with strahm stating everything he found out which we just saw) which feels a little patronising. even so, this movie was a lot more enjoyable and engaging than IV. i can't believe it took a recession for saw to git gud again. 3.7/5, toxic yaoi not as good as the classic bathroom boys but still an admirable attempt. saw VI, pretty please show us what was in jill's box and also where gordon is. thx 🙏🏿

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
THE NEW CARDS-
THEY’VE BEEN REVEALED AND I-
AAAAAAAAAAAAAA
So, I'm going to analyze each card to ensure that I get everything I want to say out of my system! I'll probably make more posts once the English translations come out for this event, but until then, enjoy my speculation!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Mafuyu - In the Warmth of Glowing Dusk When I looked at the art for the first time, I just put my phone down and stared into space for a minute. IT'S SO PRETTY AAAA! Mafuyu is actually my favorite character (I've been debating this a long time, and while I love every character in N25, I think I can most closely relate with Mafuyu), so I shrieked when I first saw that the next event would be focused on her.
I'm glad my theory was right - that Kanade was indeed the one pulling her hand. I couldn't be too sure just from looking at the event teaser alone, but it makes sense! (I'll talk about Kanade in a little bit) I love this theme of an abandoned hospital, with flowers and plants being the only thing that's thriving. It's interesting, as we know that Mafuyu wanted to be a nurse, but then her mother pushed her to become a doctor. It appears Mafuyu is a nurse, but she looks far from happy. Of course, I haven't been able to read the event story yet (I haven't read a lot of the event stories for the N25 events that haven't come to the global server yet--I need to work on that), so I can't say for sure what exactly the upgraded art is representing, but I can say that it is drop dead gorgeous.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Mizuki - There's No Need to Be Afraid
What do you know, Mizuki is wearing one of their fun alternate outfits! As cute as it is that they're comforting my boi (I'll get to him momentarily) I kind of wish they was the three star of this event. The attribute to this event is cool (so I believe), and Mizuki definitely is in a lot of mixed events as a four star--and those events are cool attributes a lot of the time. This card line up is virtually the same as Mafuyu's previous event--except it's Len instead of Rin. Can't get too salty, as this art is still top-tier, but just something that I wish they had considered.
I like the continued hospital theme in Mizuki's upgraded art; it was actually what made it fairly obvious that an abandoned hospital was the theme! It appears that they're looking at...a mannequin? I mean, you wouldn't have a random person in the upgraded art, and Mizuki does love fashion, so it makes sense. But they look great in both versions of the card!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Shyly Greeting While Hiding
*inhales* MY BOI MY BOI HE'S HERE! Len finally made it to the Empty Sekai! Say hello to your new friend, depression! I just love how they made him all shy and timid for this Sekai, I think it's just perfect! He's so cute...I can't wait to see his full design! And I know Len is the focus of this card, but Miku looks really good as well :D
You can actually tell pretty easily that the upgraded art is set in the Empty Sekai, with is interesting, considering all the others seem to be in this remote hospital. I didn’t realize this first of all, because I was so focused on how sad my boi looked......Len......it he seems so shy in this Sekai I love it—I hope he warms up to the others over the course of the story, as I’m sure they’ll love Len.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Best Angle for the Perfect Shot
I remember taking one look at this and just going, “hang hang hang hang on I—hang on I need to make that my wallpaper for like a billion things there’s all four of them I need this!!!" While I’m glad this card is practically free, this shot of them is so golden, so it’s incredible that it’s only a three star card.
I’m actually really interested in what’s going on in the upgraded art, as it seems to be a hallway.....but with like a ton of IV drips?! Maybe it represents the lives that could’ve been saved but were just around the corner....I honestly have no clue, but it is just as interesting as all the other cards! Ena my beloved....
WAIT SHOOT SHE’S JUST UPSIDE DOWN-
Tumblr media
As to Not Let Go of That Hand
Aaaa I love Kanade in this card! She seems happy, which isn’t always a given. But, I did mention earlier that I was a little bit salty about the gacha combination. I guess it just seems strange that Kanade is the one who is pulling Mafuyu’s hand, and....she’s the two star? Well, it is what it is! I’m still in love with all the card art. Sometimes Kanade is just so wholesome to me and I love her ;;;; And hey! At least this art makes it easier for me to draw these designs now :D
On that note, I think I’ve gotten down everything I wanted to (for now)! Bug sounds incredible, and the little snippets from the 2DMV look really cool too! Enjoy to those who are playing on the JP server!

Sorry matt maybe im just cruel but my fav vversion of romantic gustholomule is when matt catches feelings first but cannot express them and doesn t want to but gus is very friendly and already claimed matt as his friend so they hang out a lot (in the same classes sińce matt joined illusion track for no other reason than his sudden interest in illusion magic obviously!! The same club + gus is one of his few in not the only friend). Matt is too pround and awkward to communicate his feeling (platonic ones too) but constantly expresses them thru actions (can also be takes as platonic gus&matt)=> going out to find more human junk to talk with gus about/figure out what was it used for.
He d definetly visit the Owl lady for the human stuff/stories (and his and edas dynamics would be soo fun)
He d observe and study gus illusion techniques and once gus catches on he d offer to tutor matt/get curious about the construction magic as well.
The potential of gus creating illusion of statues/etc and matt actually being able to recreate them with his magic.
Maybe they d create human exhibition but in order to make it more interesting for other students they d make together replicas which students could touch while having the actual "artefact" disolayed
And gus meeting steve! And they d vibe so much, teaming up and teasing matt while he gets jealous of how quickly they became friends(? lack of a better word)
They d pull pranks together tho not that many since gus doesn t like "that mean" pranks and matt finds some of gus s elaborate plans ridiculous
This was supposed to be more about their romantic side of relationship but i got lost and them being besties is also soo good</3
I LOVE them being besties cuz they're just so funny. They have this vibe about them that makes them seem so different at first glance but if you sit down and listen to them have a conversation, you realize they're both scheming little gremlins who love chaos and it makes perfect sense why they're friends.
If Matt with the feelings first is what we're calling cruel than I hate him and want him to never have a good day for as long as he lives. But mostly I just think the idea is funny because the Holy Trifecta of spiteful assholes who keep falling for the original trio of "losers" needs to be completed. It feels unfinished.
Although I'm very much in the opinion that it's not for a long while. So anywhere from a year from now to three. So Gus and Matt have this perfect platonic foundation with no feelings attached whatsoever and it's GREAT. And then feelings hit Matt out of fucking NOWHERE, completely unprovoked like an eternity later and he's like "are you fucking SERIOUS?? This is bullshit!! It's bullshit!!" Because in his own opinion, its gonna ruin everything.
Because YEAH. Long before the feelings started, Matt wasn't even able to articulate to Gus that he cared about him as a friend. I like to believe it stems from his former "friendship" with the glandus kids, where Matt fell into the habit of grovelling and asskissing because he was desperate for any scrap of approval. He was pathetic and he knows he was pathetic and now he tries really hard to never repeat that kind of behavior with anyone else. As such, he's adopted a level of emotional detachment so he's never taken advantage of again. He doesn't want Gus knowing he's dependent on him in the way that was made obvious to the glandus kids as he doesn’t want Gus seeing him as pathetic. So he keeps him at arm's length.
So how the FUCK is he supposed to navigate anything resembling romance with him? He doesnt know and he doesnt want to know. He fucking won't do shit about it I guess.
But yeah he DID join the Illusion classes partly because he was inspired by Gus, most specifically the awesome horrifying shit Gus did to Bria. But also Mattholomule spent a lot of time in the Looking Glass Ruins with Gus and that ghost guy, building defenses and repairing the damage as best he could and he really did learn a lot. Not only is Gus a powerful witch but he's also a prodigy who skipped a few grades so of course he's gonna know a ton about illusionist history and the like.
So Gus and ghost guy are there in rapt discussion about Django the Mirror King and whatnot while Matt builds walls and pretends to be uninterested. Eventually he caves and asks to be told more. Because not only is Gus a brilliant illusionist himself but he's the kind of bright passionate person that could probably pitch anything to anyone and make it sound awesome. Huge reason why Matt got sucked into multitrack in the end. Gus's enthusiasm is contagious.
Also yeah. Matt DOES stuff. Can't tell Gus he's cool or his magic is really powerful or anything all that nice but he'll do things that will make Gus's day brighter, which holds this friendship afloat. Attends all of Gus's flyer derby games, eventually resigns as H.A.S president so Gus can have his title back because "It's waaaaay too much work and I'm sick of it. But I bet a nerd like you will get a kick out of it." And yeah, finding little human knicknacks for Gus too geek out over, like a cat dropping dead mice on a doorstep.
He's just constantly showing his appreciation for Gus in little gestures and Gus IS aware of it. He doesn't mock him for it much but he often smirks and says "thank you Matty <3" a little too obnoxiously. Matt responds by shooting an earth mound out of the ground beneath Gus's feet and making him eat the pavement. <3
I've always been on the fence over whether Matt was actually into human stuff or if this was just an interest he faked to get into the H.A.S because he noticed the president's widdle baby face and figured he'd be an easy target to usurp. But if its the latter, I like to believe he at least got somewhat invested after he became friends with Gus. Again, Gus's contagious enthusiasm. I kinda like the idea that Matt isn't huge into human stuff himself but he now knows just about everything Gus knows because he lets Gus ramble at him. He claims to be annoyed by it, which only encourages Gus to run his mouth more. They have a neat system going here.
Tutoring hell ya!!! Gus teaching Matt like one illusion spell "for fun" while they're dicking around and Matt does a surprisingly good job. Gus is astonished.
"Wow. You nailed that one. You sure you've never studied illusions?"
"It's kinda hard not to pick up on it while I constantly gotta look at you flaunting your little smoke and mirror shows all the time."
"So what you're saying is....you've been observing my spells and copying me? :)"
"Don't get a big head, Augustus. You're so little, it'll knock you off balance."
"I'm bigger than you!"
I think the idea of Gus being so enthusiastic about construction spells and wanting Matt to teach him some is so cute. But also it'd be so funny if Gus was like. Completely fucking garbage at it. He tries and he tries, but instead of feeling shitty about it (his whole conflict from TTLGR) he feels comfortable enough to laugh about it. He's just having fun. Matt laughs too and teases him over it but doesn't mock him with anything close to the nastiness he had before, which is when Gus realizes that the two of them might very well be friends now.
Could definitely see Gus branching out more and trying to get more people aboard the human appreciation wagon. Like at this point he's actually been in the Human Realm and learned a ton so he's now more than an expert than he's ever been. So he's out here giving full out TED talks to the students, writing papers, building exhibits. Matt complains to anyone who will listen "He's gone crazy over this stuff. He's always been crazy about it but now its next level. Completely obsessed. I can't stand it."
"He says you have been helping him every step of the way."
"Sure I have. What's your point?"
Gus would LOVE Steve. Matt hates it. Steve embarrasses him in front of Gus. Gus embarrasses him in front of Steve. They're both bustards!!
I feel like they're destined to be pranking little delinquents together. But yeah they probably bicker and disagree too much that not many plans are executed. Matt gets way too carried away that before he realizes it he's suggesting absolutely evil shit and Gus has to be like "Think about that for more than two seconds."
".......Oh right. Amoral."
"Right."
Meanwhile Gus had busted out corkboards full of elaborate plans for pranks and a thirty minute powerpoint presentation. (Yes he owns a human projector.) Matt is just like "This sounds like way too much work to be fun. Can't we just shoot spitballs or something?"
"Once again, you stifle my creativity as an artist."
In conclusion I like them very much.

Notes: Woah, we’re halfway there!
AO3 | S&C
ANGER - 6 points
“You’re really out here advertising that you can speak every language in the world? No wonder that Kurt’s friend is concerned. Why did you do that?”
Blaine frowns. What does Wes mean?
“Isn’t it important to be honest and upfront when offering your services?” he asks.
“I admire your integrity, but we’ve talked about this, Blaine. Humans don’t do this.”
“Being honest and upfront?”
Wes thinks about that for a second, before nodding.
“… That too, occasionally, but I referred to speaking every language.”
Honestly, Blaine had forgotten about that. He’s so used to having this skill, it’s hard to imagine learning a language the old-fashioned way.
“Well, maybe it did lead to something… interesting,” Blaine starts, “I am invited to their place. Rachel insists on getting to know me better.”
Wes takes a sip of his drink.
“And the invitation is extended to you,” Blaine adds and Wes nearly chokes.
“What? Why?” he asks, aghast. To be fair, Blaine had a similar reaction. Blaine mentioned Wes once and now Rachel also wants a full background check on him. He’s not sure if he finds Rachel’s concern endearing or worrisome.
Blaine tells Wes everything.
“But it will take some time, I think,” he says with a shrug, “Rachel is going on a long work trip for some weeks. We have time to refresh our cover story.”

Kurt and Blaine fall into an easy routine. Once a week they meet up somewhere in the city to talk Dutch. Kurt is an eager student, which is something Blaine appreciates. Most of his past students were eager too, but he also had kids whose parents put them on lessons and that wasn’t always fun.
Blaine also likes that Kurt is curious. He doesn’t just listen to Blaine’s ramblings about the language, he also asks questions that no other beginning student often asks.
For example,
“Why does the word gewoonte have two plural forms?” “Words that end with a toneless e do so.”
Or,
“When you combine two words, why do some plural forms lose a letter, like zonnen with straal becomes zonnestraal?” “Quite frankly, this makes no sense. Why is it Koninginnedag, but also koninginnensoep? There are a lot of exceptions to rules on plural forms. It causes understandable anger and annoyance.”
Or,
“Why do you put the diaeresis on the last e in ideeën, but on the second one in creëren?” “Because it notes a new syllable.”
And Kurt always writes the answers down, even when Blaine feels like his answer is unsatisfactory, but with a lot of grammar and spelling rules, the answer boils down to “it’s just like that”. Kurt gets that, and he still finds it interesting.
Although he said he feels some anger towards Dutch language for having so many exceptions to grammar rules, and even though Blaine never had to learn the language the ‘manual way’, he is inclined to agree.
Right now, Kurt’s on another small rant about a weird Dutch thing (havoër vs. vwo’er) and Blaine watches him with a look of pure adoration on his face. He’s being obvious. Trent actually has the power to see emotions through colour and according to him, Blaine’s been giving off a pink hue ever since he met Kurt.
But even though Kurt presumably does not have such powers, Blaine is still obviously staring. He might as well hang a flashing sign that says “THIS BOY IS IN LOVE” above his head with an arrow pointed towards him, but it’s… it’s Kurt. Blaine loves how passionate he is.
He needs to do something about it.
He wants to do something about it.
No more sitting around.
Blaine wants to be with Kurt.
End notes: Oh, livin’ on a prayer!
Yes, this fic is a way to complain about this weird language. If you speak Dutch, let me know what your biggest annoyance is. At the moment, mine is the difference between leiden and lijden.
