Then I painted some parts slowly with a color pencil. I covered the rest with pastel colors, here I used two colors. Not only was Saraswati the wife of the creator, Brahma, she even helped him form and finalize his creations. Imagine baking a cake only to realize it looks boring and plain. This is how Brahma felt; he created matter but found it lacking in form. In other words, she frosted and decorated his cake, which ultimately led to the creation of the moon, the stars, and even the sun.

Why does Saraswati sit on a lotus? Saraswati is represented in Hindu mythology as the divine concert of Lord Brahma, the Creator of the universe. ... By sitting on a lotus, Saraswati signifies that She is Herself rooted in the Supreme Reality, and symbolizes supreme knowledge. The white color symbolizes purity and knowledge.
