Ravenpaw gosh ur design is so good I love it. I have Grackle’s lineart I just am too tired to color it so I’ll probably do that tomorrow- also definitely gonna draw them again with the squad

(ID- Ravenpaw is a white and deep purple cat with purple eyes and fangs poking downwards out of their mouth. He is sitting facing the left with their eye looking towards the moon which is bright with stars circling its center. Their back front paw is raised with the little toe beans shown as the same pinky red color that’s in their ear and nose. White is across their back, mane, tail tip, and chin with lighter lilac gray color on their legs and shoulders, head, back legs, and hair fluff. A color that is darker is on his legs, mask pattern, tail, and ears with pure black on their paws, ear tips, mid tail, freckles, and nose. He has a worried expression. Spotty, do you have some time to hear about my quimera fire/scourge au? I just had a good idea I think, and I want to talk about it! So, after blue and tiger try to kill fire (fire doesn't know blue tried to kill him, he thinks only tiger did it and blue was his savior) he leaches on the idea of red, spotted and blue being perfect and his protectors, afterall, they are the firsts ones to show kindness to him and the clan is kitty racist. So! I want Red to live longer! Because I need his death to be devastating to fire, therefore he can't die at sunningrocks. Coincidentally, I always thought the whole tigerclan thing came out of nowhere, I think leopardfur just deciding to form an alliance with tiger was a bit odd and I really don't like the 'actually she was in love' thingy. Here's my idea: leopard owes tiger. Why? Well because he killed oak for leopard! You see, I'm making this battle happen later on in the story, there's a border fight and fire, raven, tiger and red are caught in it. Red and oak fight causing red to push oak against some rocks, oak gets trapped but he's still alive and could make it, red runs to call for help, in their fighting they kinda got separated from the group and while he's away screaming for help, tiger sneaks in and kills oak. Red is... Weirded out. He didn't see it happen but... Oak was alive, and now he's dead. Leopard becomes deputy and now owes tiger big time. Raven does see this happen and he does tell fire! But at this point they both are basically super traumatized and way to scared to say anything (I am making fire to be kind hearted and nice but the poor thing will spend the entirety of the first... 2 and a half books? Mostly frightened out of his pelt) . What do you think?

what’s the biggest impact Ravensong has on the fealties / cats after he kicks the bucket ?

He’s known as “the Snake Slayer”; his spirit lives on in the fealty’s legends for generations to come.

Is Raven or Jackdaw the one whose biological father is Stagleap? I assume it’s Raven but I could see either.

Why did they decide for Robin to only have a claim to one of the kits?

Is Stagleap at all interested in having a relationship with their kit?

Do Freckle, Chestnut and Cherry resent Robin’s son, or show their dislike publicly if so?

Jackdaw is actually the affair kit!

It was moreso Robinwhisker’s decision. She was so distraught and horrified once her actions truly sank in, so she decided to distance herself from her family. In their initial blind rage and grief over her actions, Freckledfoot, Cherrystorm and Chestnutfur agreed without question that she should essentially be cut out - and if she wanted to take the evidence of her cheating with her, then so be it. (In the recent aftermath of Freckledfoot’s death, Chestnutfur is rethinking and debating this decision… Cherrystorm is more than happy to never look back upon Robinwhisker in any way, however)

Stagleap has no knowledge of their kits. Robinwhisker cut contact with them the very instant she realized that one of her kits had been sired by them in an act of an affair.

Chestnutfur feels… a detached sort of indifference for Jackdaw. They feel for him, and know that, realistically, the destruction of their family wasn’t his fault, but they can’t help but feel somewhat bitter whenever they look at him. Cherrystorm, meanwhile, is boldly resentful of him; she’d rather not talk about the mess that was what her family once was, but if she is pressed, she will gladly snarl out how much she dislikes Jackdaw and Robinwhisker in equal measure, and how they deserve any hardship the Stars place in their path.

Spill the tea on the RobinFrecked drama, I must know how these cats have been affected. Also, who was Robin’s affair partner or did she just have a fling with a random cat.

ITS TEA TIME, WOOOO

In their youth, Robinwhisker and Freckledfoot were sickeningly sweet. They were that couple, the seemingly perfect, deeply in love, forever-in-the-honeymoon-phase pair that everyone envied; it took moons of mutual and obvious pining for the two to finally get together, but they did so shortly after earning their full names. They were happy and loving, and started a family almost instantly: Chestnutfur and Cherrystorm. As parents, they were both loving but somewhat strict, making sure their children knew what was expected of them while also ensuring they knew that they were loved.

For the duration of their kithood into their training, this was how their family stayed. Healthy and loving. But then… something changed in Robinwhisker.

She became more reserved. Less willing to interact with her family, quicker to snap and snarl, easier to upset; she fell into a depression. Nothing sparked this, exactly; Robinwhisker felt as though she had wasted her youth solely with Freckledfoot, using most of her energy to become a partner and a mother rather than her own person. This realization made her a little bitter, and she began to push herself to become better, become greater - and to do that, a family didn’t exactly fit into that. Not for her.

It was during a lone night walk, pushing herself to run through the territory until every inch of it was memorized, every rock and root and patch of earth, so she could run through it with her eyes closed, that she accidentally crossed over the border with the Moorswept and was swiftly caught by a jack named Stagleap. The two hit it off immediately, despite the slightly tense situation; they had a natural chemistry, a sense of mutual respect for one another’s abilities and strength, a sensation of wonder for each other as powerful people rather than simply blind infatuation. Their relationship grew naturally from there, all while Robinwhisker was still sharing a nest with Freckledfoot.

Ultimately, Freckledfoot asked if they could have another litter; of course she had sensed Robinwhisker’s distance, but had simply figured she was trying to figure herself out and wanted to respect that. But even still, she wanted another litter, just one more with her beloved partner to remember this time of peace and love should their relationship sour any further. Robinwhisker agreed, and their litter was sired by a mutual friend within their own faction… but when the kits were born, Robinwhisker was horrified to discover that one of them was practically the spitting image of Stagleap, right down to the shape of their little head, and the dark coloring of their pelt.

She confessed to what she had done immediately, not realizing that her romp with the Moorsweeper would have extended to these lengths. Freckledfoot was horrified and angry, renouncing the kit as hers immediately and taking the other for her own, hot tears streaming down her face all the while. Their family shattered around them, with Robinwhisker devoting all her attention onto her now sole son, and Chestnutfur, Cherrystorm and Freckledfoot renouncing and shaming Robinwhisker.

The two littermates were raised as strangers, kept as far from one another as possible, even when the truth finally reached their ears and they looked upon each other for the first time in that new, strained light.

I very much enjoy Raven's power of being able to 'hit da bricks' in a way, utter elopement, trapless scampered. Any notable ways they've used it before? - ❌

Lmao, yeah.. the powers they sport are pretty minute, but they can be big if they’re applied properly.

Sand and Jackdaw pick on them… a lot. One of the ways they do this is through setting up traps, tricks, or mean riddles for him - which results in them being able to crack such things at record speeds. It’s frustrating for them to have to deal with, but moreso like how a gnat is annoying than anything super prominent.

Raven still run away at some point?

Eyhh yes and no…

They stick around until the aftermath of the Great Battle with the Bloodbound.

Is Raven actually sired by Stagleap? It’s one of my theories and they were assigned as Stagleap’s offspring on the family tree.

I’m not quite sure how true this is, but the way I see it: Robinwhisker had an affair with Stagleap shortly after getting a litter sired by Patchedpelt for her and Freckledfoot.

Jackdaw is Stagleap’s, entirely, while Raven is mostly Freckledfoot’s (Patchedpelt’s) but still exhibiting some distinctive Moorsweeper traits - namely, the tri-split ears. The ear trait was a massive tell for Robinwhisker’s infidelity, but Freckledfoot still claimed Raven as her own because they were practically a little mirror image of her, and she desperately wanted one of the kittens from a litter she knew would probably be her last.

So what’s the relationship between Raven and his family? And how does jackdaw feel about this?

Raven is loved! As far as his elder siblings are concerned, he’s the baby of the family, riddled with anxiety and the result of a broken family (rather than the cause of it, as how they view Jackdaw).

Raven is horrified by how his siblings treat Robinwhisker and Jackdaw. Of course, he understands why, but he feels that Robinwhisker was punished enough, and Jackdaw shouldn’t have been punished at all. He’s actually rather close with Robinwhisker, as close as he can be anyway, and he does his best to act as a true sibling to Jackdaw… Jackdaw doesn’t often reciprocate, though, too engulfed by bitterness and the desire to prove himself to bother with his littermate who got the life he so desperately wanted as well.

Can’t detail too much on how Jackdaw treats Rust, though, since that definitely qualifies as spoilers ;)

How does Robin interact with Raven, if they have to

If they have to? It’s… awkward. Tense.

Raven doesn’t interact with Robinwhisker almost at all; Cherrystorm makes sure of it. She’s very involved with her little sibling, especially in the wake of Freckledfoot’s passing, and Raven is far too reserved and, quite honestly, uninterested, in entertaining the thought of trying to seek out Robinwhisker himself. They don’t acknowledge her as much of a mother, but they still recognize Jackdaw as their littermate. It’s… complicated.

What characters are you most excited to write/script/draw?

Will Ravenpaw’s arc be the same, leaving the first book and pretty much being a loner after? Personally always liked him either dropping -paw or getting a proper suffix by his friends

In terms of the first arc, I’m most excited to legitimately get to write out the apprentice squad!! I love their dynamic.

Ravenpaw’s arc is entirely different. I won’t go into too much detail, but he’s a much bigger, stronger presence within the first arc.
