If you have any VR check if it’s in your store I swear the most wonderful multiplayer vr game I’ve played. The world-building is so charming and the character design is delightful, and the mechanics have given me HOURS of fun. There’s no talking, and only hand gesturing to speak and it’s so intimate and it’s given me great friends and human connection through small actions.
I highly HIGHLY recommend looking into the game if you can, you will NOT regret it this game is soooooooo criminally underrated.
EVEN IF YOU DIN’ HAVE A VR REBLOG THIS!!! THIS IS AN INDIE GAME AND I WANT IT TO GET ALL THE POSSIBLE SUPPORT T CAN!

Hey guys, I got an idea! It'll take a while but..
Rec Room talent show for 100k tokens! (I don't have them rn, but by the time I'm done setting this all up, I will).
I want to get good judges, so I'll be trying that, and I'll make a huge room and do these every once in awhile (whenever I manage to get 100k tokens I don't feel personally attached to).
There will be 40 contestants, 10 heard on day one, so forth. By the time we've passed the first round of people, those who've made it past these rounds will be given rewards and abit of a break before starting more rounds.
By the end, the last contestant standing will be the winner!
And there are going to be booths available on the side for displays, and each will be given a personal shout out by me on YouTube (during the videos or livestream of the Talent Show).
youtube
Here's a video about it! Please watch if you're planning on participating! And please fill out..
These Google forms to enter!
(You can only enter if you play Rec Room).
This won't happen until awhile from now since I'm announcing it when I've barely started, I just wanted to let you guys enter! And give you plenty of leeway to prepare and offer your assistance!
Don't know what Rec Room is? Rec Room is a free cross-platform social game where you can build and play with friends from around the world!
Download on Google Play!
Meta and other VR devices have them in your VR store!
Other mobile devices I can't get links to, but..here's Rec.Net! You can download straight from this webpage!

Ok. I’m gonna level with you all. I need you to take my survey. I’ve exhausted my resources to get this out to as many people as possible, and found only 4 participants.
The poll is about VR, motion sickness and cybersickness (yes that’s real) help is appreciated, and even if you don’t want to take it, sending it to others would be incredible. It’s for class and I results to write my paper by tomorrow.
You will remain anonymous if you take it.

another frightening expose of how society will be managed and controlled in future...
EXPOSED: Meta’s $36 Billion Plot to Reengineer Society and Mark Zuckerberg’s Dangerous Future Plans for Tech Addiction
Out today, Controligarchs: Exposing the Billionaire Class, Their Secret Deals, and the Globalist Plot to Dominate Your Life, blows the lid off of Meta’s pattern of intentionally using harmful and aggressive tactics to get users addicted to social media apps like Facebook and Instagram and documents a shocking rise in depression and suicide that some scientists have linked to social media use.
This comes just weeks after dozens of state attorneys general (AGs) filed suit against Facebook’s and Instagram’s parent company, Meta Platforms Inc. (Meta), and three of its subsidiaries, for harming children by addicting them to the social media platforms. Forty-two states, including California and New York, allege that billionaire creator Mark Zuckerberg’s company “knowingly designed and deployed harmful features on Instagram and Facebook to purposefully addict children and teens.”
Previously, Facebook whistleblower Frances Haugen claimed that Meta targeted children and teens for monetary reasons and a leaked document showed that the youth demographic was “a valuable but untapped audience.”
Just weeks after Haugen blew the whistle on Facebook’s tactics, Zuckerberg unveiled his plan to release what may prove to be Meta’s most addictive product yet: Facebook Horizon. Zuckerberg’s October 2021 virtual tour of the new product, which was panned as “super weird,” was his coming-out party for what has become known as “the metaverse”—a digital world that users can essentially live in and access via a virtual reality (VR) headset such as Facebook’s Oculus Quest.
Zuckerberg’s metaverse launch was a conveniently timed and thinly veiled rebranding effort to distract from whistleblower documents and allegations that, according to the Associated Press, show that “Facebook ignored or downplayed internal warnings of the negative and often harmful consequences its algorithms wreaked across the world.”
In October 2021, Zuckerberg changed the name of the Facebook Inc. family of companies to Meta Platforms Inc. to signal the direction his social media empire would be heading. And Zuckerberg has pumped more than $36 billion into making his metaverse ambitions a reality.

Controligarchs reveals that Zuckerberg’s $36 billion (and growing) metaverse efforts are only just the beginning. The book documents Zuckerberg’s ongoing efforts to make the most addictive product in history: the metaverse.
One of the first virtual shops in the metaverse was a cannabis store. But it is not the tangible drugs that are the most dangerous of Meta’s offerings. The metaverse brings new consumer product offerings—including physical and biotechnological upgrades for the human body.
Meta has already filed a patent for bionic eyeballs so that users can bring their virtual reality with them everywhere and never have to leave. Zuckerberg is tinkering with other brand-new technologies, including a synthetic skin prototype called ReSkin and pneumatic “haptic gloves,” so that users could literally feel and grasp the metaverse.
Tumblr media

Innovators are even developing scent blasters that shoot chemical mist at a user’s nose to allow them to “smell” the metaverse. In addition to basic scents like chocolate and strawberry (and even “beach”), there are more nuanced fragrances such as “fascinate,” “annihilate,” and “carouse.”
And while Meta’s VR aspirations appear to be failing with consumers, Zuckerberg’s obsession with the metaverse shows no signs of ceasing, as evidenced by its ongoing partnership with the popular Ray-Ban sunglasses franchise. Last Thursday, Meta announced a new strategic partnership China’s Tencent to make headsets cheaper and more accessible.
As Controligarchs documents, Meta’s losses are short term while its metaverse determinations are here to stay. More than five hundred major corporations are also helping to build the metaverse. Coca-Cola has released a new “pixel-flavored soda” that was “born in the metaverse.” Another company called Taste the TV has devised a method for users to literally lick their screens to “taste” the metaverse.
Critics believe that Meta’s losses mean that the metaverse is doomed to fail, but not so fast. iPhone’s manufacturer is set to release its own set of augmented reality glasses called Apple Vision Pro and the metaverse has big support from the World Economic Forum (WEF).
The WEF website has thousands of pages about the metaverse and a new initiative titled “Defining and Building the Metaverse.” It runs positive headlines such as “71% of Executives Say the Metaverse Will Be Good for Business. Here’s Why,” “Younger Generations Expect to Spend a Lot More Time in the Metaverse,” and “Who Will Govern the Metaverse.” The WEF has positioned itself as the arbiter of “best practices” for this new digital world.
Tumblr media

The book shows that Zuckerberg has had a general disdain for the users of his products since before Facebook (in its current form) was even founded. When asked why people share personal data with him, the Facebook founder said: “People just submitted it. I don’t know why. They ‘trust me.’ Dumb fucks.” In fairness, Zuckerberg made the comment while in college at Harvard and has since distanced himself from it stating that he “absolutely” regretted the comment and thinks he has “grown and learned a lot.”
According to Controligarchs, Facebook has always exploited its users by making its features addictive, as admitted by Facebook’s founding president Sean Parker who called it a “social-validation feedback loop.” Every time a Facebook (or Instagram) user hears the notification chime, the brain emits “little dopamine hit,” Parker said, and the user gets a rush.
Controligarchs has also uncovered that the architect of the metaverse, Vishal Shah, previously served as an Instagram developer and was involved with the effort to launch “Instagram for kids.” A 2019 study found that depression and suicidal tendencies are rising among teens, and they pointed to social media use as a possible culprit.
Tumblr media

“Facebook is going back to its old tricks, offering another product designed to get kids hooked when they are the most vulnerable,” said the head of an organization called Common Sense. The Campaign for a Commercial-Free Childhood cited several studies to conclude that “excessive use of digital devices and social media is linked to a number of risks for children and adolescents, including obesity, lower psychological wellbeing, increased risk of depression, and increases in suicide-related outcomes.”
Zuckerberg’s Meta rebrand was criticized as a “tactic” or potential “distraction” from the fact that his companies rely on addiction as a business model. But the reality is that Meta’s new VR products may have even greater potential to addict users.

The recent lawsuits by state AGs across the United States must get to the bottom of the addictive efforts—tantamount to mind control—and hold Zuckerberg and his companies accountable.
Seamus Bruner is the author of the pathbreaking new book, Controligarchs: Exposing the Billionaire Class, Their Secret Deals, and the Globalist Plot to Dominate Your Life, which hits bookshelves everywhere on November 14. Bruner is Peter Schweizer’s Director of Research at the Government Accountability Institute. Schweizer says Controligarchs is “Haunting” and “MASSIVE.”

32 Hours of VRChat - Your 2nd Reality
Today I will introduce you to the game in the VR Category which is VRChat!
VRChat is a Virtual World social game created by Graham Gaylor and Jesse Joudrey developed and published by VRChat Inc. It was first released on January 16, 2014 as an app for the Oculus Rift then released on Steam on February 1, 2017. It’s a place to meet all kinds of people from around the globe in a virtual environment. VRChat’s content are created by its amazing community creating avatars, worlds, games and more. It’s a game with thousands of games inside it. From scenic worlds to game worlds that will blow your mind. And the best part? It’s free to play! You can play the game even without a VR, with just your PC on desktop mode. You can also play it without a PC using a standalone VR like the Quest 2 or Pico 4.
First up, in VRChat you can be who you want to be! Be your popular anime, game, or movie character. You can choose your own gender from being a girl, boy, and other genders. You can join different types of fandoms and groups from Warhammer, Undertale, FNAF, roleplayers, ravers, hobbyist or tech enthusiasts, no matter your taste you’ll find a place for you. Here you have the freedom to be who you are and find people the same as you.
Next up, VRChat worlds that blow your mind. You’ll find worlds here that can make you appreciate scenes or landscapes that are so beautifully created in 3D. You can also visit VR cities from different parts of the globe like the busy streets of Tokyo to the romantic city of Paris. You can also find worlds that are so mesmerizing, creative, trippy, or out of this world.
Then we go to the games. VRChat has hundreds of games that people can play. From recreated games like Among Us, prop hunting, to games like Prison Escape, Zombie Tag, & Murder Mystery. There’s definitely a lot of unique games to play here. There’s also community created worlds such as Devouring, Pop Escape, Hunni’s Horror Maps and also the Award-Winning game Magic Heist. If you have a game idea you have the freedom to create your own game here as long as you have knowledge of coding, blender and Unity.
And Lastly, In VRChat you can live in the virtual space like you’re in another world. People who want to feel the escapism or people who just want to be themselves can live their life here. People are so immersed that you can find love, marry people, sleep in VR, join rave parties, drink with friends and even join live stage shows. There was a documentary made about a couple that met in VRChat and started a family. Finding love virtually is now made easier in VR because you can see a physical representation of your loved ones.
Since VR is like a 2nd world, you can also find work here and earn money. You can stream yourself, selling your avatar creation, start a service type of business, teach others how to dance, translate other languages, DJ for clubs, create custom worlds or models. People use their talents in music, arts, acting, comedy, games and many more for people’s needs and demands. With this they have created an economy that made VRChat one of the best free to play VR games that has so much potential for the future.
It really shocks me how a lot of people haven’t heard of it before when popular Vtubers such as Filian or Project Melody use VRChat on their videos that are viewed by millions of people. This shows how underrated the game is due to some misconceptions and misunderstanding people have about VRChat.
And here in Gamer Salad, we showcase games and give them their love and glory they so deserve.
If you're interested to try out VRChat yourself: feel free to create an account and login with the link below! I look forward to meeting you.
I am Mark and thank you for reading Gamer Salad!~

Fat Cat Envy
The shift's ended, and Sarah's still working through the Wizard Game, while Walt and I are shooting the shit and backseat-gaming.
"I just love the boardroom aesthetic, is all," justifies Walt. "I've never been slim, I'm not built for tank tops or open shirts or anything, and I'm not the type of Fat Gay Guy who lets it all hang out, y'know? I need to feel braced, and I need a vest to do that. None of that should suggest that I'm shilling for the Fat Cat aesthetic."
Sarah pauses. "Welp, you kind of are. The difference is, you're self-aware. You're not Patrick Bateman who's expecting all of this to define him as a human, you're trying to assert a sense of identity that's only really expensive if you're hung-up on designer brands. There's a baker's dozen worth of Italian brands that don't come with Milanese pedigree and that don't have the price tag to match."
Walt waffles for a few moments and then rolls his eyes in concession. "Yeah, sure, I guess. I just don't know what's wrong about knowing what the fuck you're supposed to do with gingham and having a couple pinky rings to cycle through."
I watch Sarah as she Avada Kedavra's a big wolf-dog, whose only crime consists of being a wolf-dog in this particular location. As per usual, she does it while poking fun at Ralph Fiennes' delivery of the incantation.
"Stalin wore suits like you, Walt," I tell him. "Malcom X and Martin Luther King wore the shit out of their suits, too. You're not just a guy in a suit selling cars, and you're not a jagoff going for his fourth yacht or his third Mercedes. You knowing male haberdashery like the back of your hand isn't some moral fault of yours, okay? It's a choice you've made and an interest of yours. Some people collect Pokémon cards well into their forties, some people have a little lacquered box with a bunch of select watches like you, and I bet some other people just like you have another little box for their tie clips and pins."
I grip his hand. "Only two persons alive get to call you a Fat Cat as a positive - that's Sarah and me."
He blinks. "So you don't mind the contradiction between my values and how I look?"
I sigh. "Hon, you're a consumerist with a conscience. There's tons of people out there like you, starting with me. We buy shit we don't always need while being aware of their impact, and we otherwise try and make responsible choices. Count yourself lucky you never fell in with PC gaming or car ricing, 'cause then you'd be financing underage labor and exploitation. Christ, Walt, the last tie pin you bought came from a local artisan. You gave money to a local. How is that Blind Fat Cat logic?!"
He follows mine. "And if you bought that Oculus Quest in a few paychecks, you'd be in a moral quandary."
To which I have to agree. "I would, actually. I don't need that VR headset, but having the option to go untethered sounds nicer than my current setup. Maybe I'd get more mileage out of the Quest than my Rift S, which I only bring out with the office's VR PC for showroom car demos."
The big guy seems surprised. "And you're fine with that?"
Sarah pauses her game again. "Sweetie, real life isn't a video game. There's no Good alignment and no Evil alignment. Either you do the best you can and likely die forgotten by everyone, or you're an ass in a few select aspects and get a shot at notoriety or infamy. Please don't go down the Self-Flagellating Penitent route; my last boyfriend had anxiety attacks over which brand of coffee we bought!"
An angel passes, followed by a thoughtful nod. "So you can either be nihilistic about it and join the douchebros spending their way to an early grave, or you can be realistic about it. What then?"
I hug my Sales Adjunct. "Pick your battles, you idiot. Book sales, fantasize about that Burberry coat for next Fall while being aware you'll probably go for a Chinese knockoff at a fraction of the price, dress to the nines all you like - but make a difference where you can.
He's silent for a while and just hugs me back. After a minute or two, Walt sharply exhales.
"I take it back, I'm actually super rich, if it's all a question of perspective."
Sarah sees it coming and gives Walt a smirk and a slow sideways glance.
"I'm super rich because I've got you two," he says, assuming a bit of that Alpha Douche posture he uses it blend in, with his shoulders squared off and his girth allowed to take up space.
Suddenly, reaching the endgame phase doesn't matter all that much to Sarah. We're both in Walt's arms, and he fakes a self-satisfied laugh. "This fat cat's got two kittens to groom," he suggests, adding a deliberately lusty Meow before locking lips with me.

Are vr headsets expensive? I only really have heard of the Oculus but I'm not even sure that's for pc?
It depends where you get them from and what brand you want. I have an Oculus Quest (the first one. I think it's called a Meta Quest now) that I got for £150 second-hand. It's a stand-alone headset which means you don't have to plug it into a PC to use it (although you can if your PC is VR-compatible), so I think it was worth the money. There's also the Oculus Rift S, which you do have to use with PC. I don't know pricing for that one.
There's also Vive which is really expensive, I wouldn't go for Vive, especially if you aren't going to be using it a lot.
The only letdown with Oculus is that you need to make/connect a Facebook account to actually activate the headsets. It was a price I was willing to pay for Be Present Mic In VR And Scare People.

Great news everybody! New evil weeaboo tech guy just dropped! And my favourite image is applicable once again!
Tumblr media
So, November 6th was a sort of holiday for the Sword Art Online community. Like with Blade Runner, which took place in the distant future of 2019, Sword Art Online began on November 6th, 2022.
(Sword Art Online is a science fiction isekai novel series that was adapted into anime, manga, movies, and games.)
On this fabled day, gamers put on their NerveGear VR headsets, devices that connected to the brain to provide a “full dive” virtual reality experience. But once they logged on, they found out that they couldn’t log out. The creator’s avatar announced to them that if they tried to take the headset off, they would die, and that if they died in the game, they’d die in real life too. The headset would use microwaves to fry the player’s brain.
So what did our guy do?
“The good news is that we are halfway to making a true NerveGear. The bad news is that so far, I have only figured out the half that kills you,” Luckey said.
THE FOOL COULD ONLY FIGURE OUT THE KILLING HALF
You will never be Akihiko Kayaba, you slimy nerd
And as is par for the course, he completely missed the point of Sword Art Online.
Aside from his predictably anarcho-capitalist political views, he is co-founder of defence contractor Anduril Industries
Any defence contractor is naturally disgusting, but this one is deliciously ironic, too! Because what do they specialise in? According to LinkedIn, "national security, defense technology, and artificial intelligence". They use AI in drones for border security. And the villains of Sword Art Online's 4th arc are American defence contractors who want to steal the AI technology developed by fictional company Rath to use to pilot drones.
Anyway, he’s the one who made the deal with Facebook “Meta”, to sell Oculus to them while retaining a huge stake in the company. Before he sold it to Facebook, the Oculus Quest 2 was the affordable VR headset, as it included the necessary computing power, so you didn’t need to connect it to your own device. However, then he made the Facebook deal, to help Zuckerberg’s Metaverse take off. The Oculus Quest 2 is now the Meta Quest 2, and if you buy it, Facebook gets access to all of your data and will surveil you while you use it. You can still buy a version not connected to Meta- rebranded as being “for business use”, and it’s functionally the same- but it costs double. This move was to force the Metaverse onto people.
Tumblr media
Basically, he's saying "one day you will be able to die in the Metaverse <3".
I hope he puts on his headset and it kills him.
