Where does the idea that Ocelot is bitter and petty and jealous towards Kaz come from?
Maybe I’m delusional and ocelhira-pilled, but to me it never felt like Ocelot hated Kaz.
It felt that he kinda liked him or viewed him as a sort of friend? Like he’s tired from Kaz letting his paranoia and rage overcome him but hate or is jealous? Idk I haven’t finished mgsv yet so maybe it’s in the tapes or something

thanks for the interest! i honestly did not plan out that much for an entire au, it was kinda just to redraw that iconic scene. but ocelot is adam and kaz would be lawrence!
here’s an unused sketch i had…
after thinking some more, their role’s probably should have been reversed… after all kaz did die before ocelot LOL! but eh maybe i will revisit this au again someday and actually plan out the entire mgs x saw timeline!

[Fic] Zero Sum [Ocelhira]
Fandom: Metal Gear Solid [9-year gap, pre-TPP]
Characters: Kazuhira Miller, Revolver Ocelot, brief appearance of BB
Pairing: Ocelhira, allusions to BBKaz
Rating: M
Word count: 5,308 words
Summary: Kaz is dying, alone and somewhere out in the desert. Except - Ocelot won't let him and drags him back to life. Somehow the two of them must bring the job they're currently working on to a close, even if it doesn't go as planned.
Warnings: Whump/Blood & Injury; brief bout of gore during a hallucination; hallucinations/unreliable narrator; the usual sniping between Ocelhira; alcohol; field medicine; quick BJ; Kaz whump AND Ocelot whump
Notes: The fact that there's only 13 works in the whump tag for MGS is a crime. Don't worry, I'll change that ❤.
Kaz frowns.
“I can handle myself,” he replies sharply. Maybe more sharply than he’d intended. Ocelot raises his hands in a mocking gesture, eyebrows arched.
“Better concentrate on healing then,” he suggests. “I might not be there to pull you back from the brink of death a second time.”
“Didn’t ask you to the first time, either.”
Ocelot’s mouth pulls back, revealing his teeth.
“And let you die to leave me to do all the work? No.” He leans in closer, until the smell of sweat from his body is almost overwhelming, mixed in with stench of horse, the faint aroma of smoke, and the cologne Ocelot favours. Reaching forward, he grabs Kaz’ healthy shoulder, fingers digging deep into his flesh, until it hurts. “If anyone gets to kill you, it’ll be me.”
“I won’t go down easy, I can promise you that much.” Kaz bares his teeth in return, a mirror of Ocelot’s expression.
“I would be insulted by anything less.” Ocelot lets go of Kaz’ shoulder, and Kaz resists the urge to reach up to massage his aching flesh. “I’ll pick you up tomorrow. Get some rest until then.”

my general perception of them: i think they are SO funny i just love the whole dynamic of “we both love the same guy in totally different yet equally deranged ways” and like…idk the fact that they had an offscreen NINE YEAR partnership (during arguably THE WORST time of either of their lives) makes me insane there’s just so much storytelling potential….they worked together longer than either of them worked with bb (directly anyway) combined. what the hell. um but anyway i got into ocelhira kind of as a joke bc i thought it was funny but……..it’s not funny……anymore………please help me.
an unpopular opinion or, failing that, a fun fact: i have no idea what is unpopular and what is not so here’s a fun fact. they are literally both so so so transgender to me
music i associate with them (if any): my number one ocelhira song is life during wartime by the talking heads!! but i’ve also recently gotten super into little feat’s spanish moon just for the like…..coked up 70s vibes of it all. this one, the live version
if I feel (spiritually) like I could beat them in a fight: kaz maybe. but i could never do that to her morally

12. the unpopular character that you actually like and why more people should like them
i agree with what you said on huey, i dont LIKE huey as a person but he is a very interesting and very well written character, and i think if you don't appreciate that, you lose a lot.
additionally i think people should talk about pequod more. i dont think hes disliked per se but he just doesnt come up much. we know literally nothing about him. hes adorable. he has a funny little mustache. he does anything you ask. please love him.
16. you can't understand why so many people like this thing (characterization, trope, headcanon, etc)
i dont know how prevalent it is tbh because i dont look for it, but i personally dont like ocelhira where they genuinely both like each other. esp not lovey dovey/fluff/soft shit between them. ocelot may be neutral towards or even like kaz, but i dont think kaz likes him at all. i think kaz is jealous of how ocelot's known and worked with big boss much longer than he has, and wasnt informed about him until after everything had gone to shit. he only ever wanted to be big boss's equal, and discovering secrets like this i think would destroy any notion he had of actually being equal to him.
post-tpp i could maybe see it a little more because kaz has been informed about v and vowed to work against big boss. sure, theyre working toward opposite goals irt big boss BUT they are also on a more even ground. kaz can view ocelot as an equal rather than someone hes losing a race to, because he no longer cares to have a relationship with bb.
his vendetta against big boss is personal. he has no such thing against ocelot anymore. and i could see something coming of that.

14. Your personal favourite fic you posted this year?
Oh that is a TOUGH one. It's so hard to narrow it all down. Because I really enjoy a whole bunch of fics that I wrote a lot. But, to pick from them all, I'd have to say that one of them is Caustic. (An Ocelhira fic) Which is a little funny to me because I wouldn't call it one of my personal bests. But I enjoy the energy of it. If I wanted an example of what I think maybe one of my bests is, then I'd go with A Universal Tongue of War. (Which is the alternative way Kaz joins Foxhound fic).
I love all my fics a lot though. Even for the ones where they didn't come out the way I originally planned, or truly think I could've done so much better, they all have their place in my heart.
