so I finally got clangen working on my chromebook, so here have some doodles of the leader/deputy/healer of my first clan, Thymeclan! Here we have Tallstar (he/him, compassionate and a masterful storyteller), Clawpatch (he/him, also compassionate and a masterful storyteller lol), and Weedspeck (he/him, sneaky and a strange dreamer)
I'll draw the whole clan eventually, and maybe do doodles of fun things that happen as I play :DD

are these 2 basically just jake & tallstar with their eye colors swapped? yeah. do i love them anyways? YEAH
rook is both the chess piece & the bird, bc rook is a common trad name ppl give tallstar! i think its a cute name & its a shame its never used in canon. i can't explain where finn came from. i mean, i can, but it's not significant to tallstar or jake lol.
not much to say on the personality front! i think they're a lot like tall & jake. clever, compassionate, & adventurous.

Longstar AU — Chapter Thirteen
   “How do they feel, Longtail?” Leafpaw meowed, padding up to him. “And how’s your eyesight?”
   Longtail took a glance around, blinking. His surroundings weren’t as clear as they used to be, but well enough he could see Leafpaw and Cinderpath and the edge of the den.
   “They feel fine, thanks to you,” He sat himself upward. “Your a well medicine cat already, Leafpaw.”
   “Thank you,” The small she-cat dipped her head.
   “And my eyesight is good enough,” He flicked Leafpaw's ear with his tail. “Thank you, both of you.”
   “That’s our job,” Cinderpath padded over, “Let me know if anything gets worse. Oh, and keep and eye on Blizzardspots. Now that she’s expecting kits she’s needs to be careful with herself.. and well, you know how she is.”
   “I will,” He dipped his head. He brushed past the two medicine cats, slipping out of the den into the bright daylight.
   “Longtail! You're healed!” Squirrelpaw rushed up to him, her paws skidding in the sand. “Look at those scars! So cool!”
   “Thank StarClan,” Dustpelt padded up to the pair, his ears flattened tight to his skull. “She is a nightmare! I have no idea how you put up with her.”
   Longtail's whiskers twitched, “She can be a pawful,” He flicked the apprentices ear with his tail. “But she has the drive and strength to be a good warrior.”
   “C'mon, Longtail, let’s do some battle practice! Show me those moves you used on my dad all those moons ago,” Squirrelpaw's paws twitched with excitement before taking off out of the camp.
   Longtail bid goodbye to Dustpelt with a flick of his tail, following the she-cat out of the camp, by sight and scent. He was going to need to get used to using scent more often, one day he would most likely loose his full sight—so he would take what he had for now, and thank StarClan for it.
   “Oh. Brambleclaw.” Squirrelpaw flattened her ears, “What are you doing here?”
   “.. I’m on patrol,” The large dark brown tabby hissed. “And what are you doing? Running away from your mentor again?”
   “No!” She growled.
   “The two of you cut it out,” Longtail hissed, barring his teeth at the warrior, “You are a warrior, Brambleclaw. You have no business fighting with an apprentice. If you truly want to be a respected warrior, and maybe be deputy one day, you need to start acting like it. Come on, Squirrelpaw.”
   The mentor and apprentice pair turned tail deeper into the forest, Squirrelpaw pressing closer to her mentors side.
   “Thank you for that.” She murmured. “He’s such a bother.”
   “I know that,” Longtail hissed. “Trust me, he bothers me as well. He’s full of himself,” He glanced at her. “But you need to conduct yourself better, too, okay? Don’t bother arguing with him, and be the bigger cat.”
   “.. Okay.” Squirrelpaw whispered, “I'll try.”
   “Good,” Longtail smiled.
   “Oh, and is Dustpelt gonna have to mentor me again?” She questioned.
   “Uh—for what?”
   “When Blizzardspots kits come!”
   His whiskers twitched, “Maybe for a little,” He brushed his tail across her flank. “They’re my kits too, of course, so I’ll probably stay with her for a few days.. but I’m deputy and your mentor. I can’t stay in camp forever. I’ve done that long enough.”
   “Heh, good.” Squirrelpaw meowed, “Now let’s get on with this training!”
   “Brambleclaw, Ashfur, Dustpelt, Sandstorm, Graystripe, Pearlheart, Squirrelpaw and Birchpaw,” Firestar listed, “As well as Cinderpath and Leafpaw are coming to the gathering. Let us set out.” He jumped down from the High Rock, taking his place at the head of the group. Longtail padded beside his leader.
   “How are you feeling, Longtail?” Firestar meowed, glancing at his deputy, “Also, send Blizzardspots my congratulations when you see her later.”
   “Much better,” He purred. “And I will.”
   “Good,” Firestar flicked his tail. “Squirrelpaw was excited that you were taking over her training again.”
   Longtail nodded, “I know,” He gave a small smile. “I’m happy to be out of the medicine den.”
   “I’m happy to have you out of the den,” Firestar brushed his tail across his flank. “To have my deputy back.”
   With those last words, they padded over the fourtrees boundary.
   “Longtail. Happy to see you recovered,” Tallstar dipped his head. “Still deputy, I presume?”
   “Of course he is,” Firestar replied, glancing at him.
   “Good.” Tallstar flicked his tail, “Let’s let the gathering commence than, shall we?”
   One by one, the leaders and deputies took their spots on the Great Rock.
   “Welcome,” Tallstar rose his voice to the whole hollow, “And welcome to the gathering. ThunderClan, would you like to start?”
   “Sure,” Firestar padded forward. “I have many a good news to share. For one, my deputy, Longtail, has recovered from the injury he suffered to his eyes. He is strong as ever.” He purred
   “A blind deputy, Firestar?” Leopardstar padded up the rock, “Do you have bees in your brain?”
   “He isn’t completely blind,” His eyes narrowed back at the she-cat. “And plus, even if he was, what does it matter, Leopardstar? He’s still a strong warrior even with his weakened eyesight.”
   The she-cat huffed, stepping back on the Great Rock. Firestar cleared his throat, beginning to speak once more.
   “Prey is well in our part of the forest,” He continued. “And we have a new apprentice, Birchpaw,” He gazed at the small tan speckled tom. “And one of our warriors, Blizzardspots, is expecting kits with Longtail.” Firestar glanced at Tallstar, “That is all.”
   After all the leaders shared their news, they ended the gathering, jumping down from the rock. Firestar gathered ThunderClan, padding out of fourtrees.
   Maybe some of his clanmates saw him as weak deputy. Thought he wasn’t able to hold his position as well as an able bodied cat, but that didn’t matter. He didn’t care what they thought; and definitely didn’t care what the other clan leaders thought of him. He would be the best deputy that ThunderClan had ever seen.

I would like to hear about your Deadstar au!
and howdy specifically to the other two of you who said yes. thanks for enabling me :3
basis for some of the timeline stuff takes inspiration from @bonefall’s better bones AU, where squirrelflight, leafpool, and crowfeather are full adults by the time of the TNP journey. there are some family tree shuffles, and event additions/changes/shuffles as well.
the point where it diverges from canon is at the windclan massacre. tallstar loses one of his lives in the slaughter, and deadfoot struggles to drag his leader's recovering body across the moor as fast as possible. ashfoot is helping usher cats out of camp as well, and the moor cats flee as far as they can into the night. deadfoot leads his clan to a distant, murky tunnel, and the group then starts to live off rats.
deadfoot waits patiently for some kind of word to reach them about the state of the other clans and their home. maybe bluestar would've found her need for justice spurred, and sent out a patrol to fetch them?
every day, deadfoot watches the horizon, watches as his leader's lives drain away from sickness and starvation as he offers his meals to the cats that need it more, hoping someone will appear over the rise to save the clan.
but they are alone.
finally, tallstar succumbs to the weakness he's subjected himself to in hopes the rest of his beloved clan could thrive. mourning is quick and short-lived; there's no time to honor his memory at the moment. windclan is dying, starving, and ill; and deadfoot must take up the mantle of the forsaken clan immediately. there is no time to waste.
unfortunately, deadfoot lacks the proper rights to fully assume the title of leader; the pilgrimage to the moonstone is unfeasible at this time. their ancestors have turned their backs on them, and refuse to send any guidance. deadstar feels as though his new ‘name’ is an omen in and of itself; it symbolizes the dying nature of his clan. the stars that were once their ancestors are dying, leaving their descendants deserted and forgotten.
some cats want to return to the forest territories, but deadstar and ashfoot forbid it. the cats can’t return back, lest the other clans chase them out again; or even worse, they’ve already colonized their land, and windclan does not have the stench or number to take their moors back.
eventually, though, the cats do decide to look for greener pastures and they vacate the murky, rat-infested tunnels. they settle into some land adjacent to a twolegplace, but it’s… not great. their land back home was far more flourishing and generous to the clan. but it’ll have to do for now.
ashfoot then bears two kits: eaglekit and crowkit. they are some of the healthiest and strongest kits the clan has seen in their time of exile! it must be a sign of good times and fortune, and that starclan is looking down on them once more! the children carry stars in their eyes, glistening like the tears of their clanmates who lost loved ones in shadowclan’s invasion.
as they grow, barkface takes on crowpaw as an apprentice. eaglepaw is apprenticed to (idk man there’s not enough room in my brain for information that’s not my OC but whatevs. also i don’t really remember what other windclan warriors would be alive at this time? my knowledge is rusty, forgive me. anyway it’s probablyyyy onewhisker bc of future things that happen in this AU [insert me rubbing my hands together like an evil little fly]). early on in their their apprenticeship, barkface and deadstar prophesy that the siblings will deliver their clan out of exile. (i’m like. really bad at writing prophesies but i was mostly thinking of michael joncas’ song “on eagle’s wings” bc that was a song my elementary/middle school sang a lot during wednesday mass and also the idiom “as the crow flies”).
so, crowpaw heads out with his sister and eaglepaw to find a new land for their beloved clan; they come across the tribe cats, appreciate their hospitality, and carry on their way. then, over the ridge; they see it: a sparkling lake swathed in heather and oak. excitedly, they pick up the pace on their trek, eagerly exploring the land. the streams are clear and the moors are thick with unfamiliar but homely scents. eaglepaw remarks on the intense fernweh she feels, knowing her brother must share the same sensation.
this is it. their prophesied homeland.
crowpaw stumbles across a bubbling waterfall that cascades gently into a pool of stars and silver; it whispers to him, tickling his ears in foreign yet intriguing tongues. sleeping here with his sister for the night, crowpaw dreams of starclan, an unfamiliar body of cats he’s never known, yet walked beside his entire life.
a gangly black and white tom speaks out from the amorphous mass, introducing himself as tallstar. he’s pleased with crowpaw and eaglepaw’s journey, and relieved that barkface and deadstar heeded starclan’s word despite their moonslong silence. the only thing now is to return to their clan and lead them back here.
and that's exactly what the two siblings do. with two pairs of ears clipping over the horizon, the messiahs are spotted first by young warrior gorsepetal, who has just served his moonlight warrior vigil. he lets out a joyous, earsplitting yowl, quickly rousing deadstar from his sleep as he fears that shadowclan has tracked them down again to finish the job. but instead, the aged harley (my term for an old, non-male or -female cat. fran is my term for a younger one) is tackled by his twin children, who excitedly recount their journey in overlapping enthusiasm.
ashfoot peels her kits off their father, and they finally calm down to announce to the clan their journey and findings in alternating turns. pelts of their clanmates ruffle in excitement, anticipation, and apprehension; some suggest the clowder should head out for their promised land now, while others raise scrutiny about why they should trust the word of two juveniles who've been gone from their clan for several weeks.
eaglepaw jumps to her and her brother's defense. they raise a good point, yes, but why would the pair lie when they sincerely want what's best for their suffering clan? has windclan not been the holiest clan since its founding, traditionally sleeping under the stars? why do they want to reject starclan now when their ancestors have finally reached down to cradle the moor cats in their arms after so many moons of silence?
it's decided. the clan will set out in two days for their star-gifted land.
eaglepaw and crowpaw lead windclan through the mountains and into the land around the lake; the moor cats quickly take up the entire land for themself. the twins are commemorated for their guidance and achievements, and are named eagleflight for being the main navigatoron the journey and crowpond for discovering the moondpond. deadstar finally has a way to claim his 9 lives.
moons of prosper and fortune pass, but suddenly... strange scents float upon the wind one brisk morning. deadstar heads out with a large patrol to investigate, and they come upon a group of a brown tabby, a ginger molly, a brown and gold tortoiseshell, a light silver tabby, and a silver-gray tom. there are stars in the eyes of the ginger cat as deadstar introduces his patrol as cats of windclan. the others say they are brambleclaw and squirrelpaw of thunderclan, tawnypelt of shadowclan, and feathertail and stormfur of riverclan, respectively. deadstar's whiskers twitch with hesitant recognition of the clan names. thoughts still linger in the back of his mind that these cats are here to destroy windclan... but deadstar will give them a chance.
it's been ages. windclan will be fine.
squirrelpaw starts to gab about how she's heard of windclan; a fable of a music clan driven out for being too weak. insulted, deadstar snaps about how could they possibly be weak if the stars guided them here to this bountiful land for them all.
tawnypelt steps forward to quell the storm. she explains that starclan has also guided them here after they met with a badger who called herself midnight.
apprehensive but not inhospitable, deadstar reluctantly guides the travelers back to the central moor camp so the foreigners can rest and eat. they stay for day, and then leave out again towards the mountains.
some weeks later, a horde of mysterious cats suddenly swarms upon their land. they linger on the edges, but brambleclaw, squirrelpaw, tawnypelt, and stormfur are immediately recognized. deadstar and a patrol of various warriors escort the original travelers to their camp to explain what's going on.
stormfur mournfully mumbles how feathertail sacrificed her life to kill this mystical giant cat named sharptooth to save the tribe in the mountains shortly after they'd departed. brambleclaw recounts how twoleg monsters invaded their territories and started capturing cats, with squirrelpaw interjecting how they were poisoning the rivers and tearing their trees right out of the ground. tawnypelt weeps as she tells deadstar how they had to leave everything behind to keep themselves safe.
sympathy is first offered by deadstar, but then his fur bristles with anger as brambleclaw proposes that windclan let the other three clans settle around the lake.
and the black harley snaps.
why should he let them colonize their land that was gifted to them by starclan? sure, they were chased out of their land, but they had a choice to either adapt to their surroundings and lose cats in the process, or leave for a new land.
windclan didn't even get a fucking warning.
why should he let them settle their land, when they didn't even try to find them after their exile?
throwing them out, deadstar speaks of the other three clans' proposition. some cats united under mudclaw, who rejects the idea of the other clans living here. this is their land, and not up for the taking.
onewhisker is open to the idea of the other clans living here alongside them. it's been years; they shouldn't hold a grudge and make children pay for their forebearers' sins.
crowpond and eagleflight find themself at odds. crowpond says they should send these new felines way; they found this land first, and finders keepers. plus, that stupid brown tabby who's apparently the sister of squirrelpaw is starting to claim she found the new holy site, that she's calling the moonpool? when crowpond found the moonpond first?!
eagleflight, always one open to new possibilities... thinks they should give the newcomers a chance. she tells her brother that leafpool means no harm; she just doesn't know better. she's in an unfamiliar land, and the other clans haven't been with windclan for a generation or two; leafpool's probably got so many thoughts swirling around in that pretty little head of hers.
rebellion breaks out; mudclaw and onewhisker both leading their respective sides. deadstar and ashfoot are trying their best to keep their clan united, but onewhisker's forces have teamed up with the rest of the clans to force themselves in.
in the resulting lakewide battle, deadstar loses a life; he sees tallstar, who can't bear to meet his former deputy's gaze. he didn't want it to end up this way. starclan is deliberating what the clans' fate will be. deadstar is sent back to his body, pleading for guidance on what to do.
deadstar wakes up just in time to see mudclaw and onewhisker grappling in shallow waters several paces ahead of him. as mudclaw rises to try and slam onewhisker's head into the water to drown him, onewhisker kicks the brown tabby away with his powerful hindlegs. lightning strikes in sync with the kick, and a dying tree is sent crashing down on the older warrior.
windclan is sent racing back to their camp without their leader, with crowpond trying to help his father limp back to their primary moor camp. in their absence, riverclan, shadowclan, and thunderclan move in.
many of the cats who rebelled with onewhisker are exiled, and they disperse into the other three clans.
a few days later, eagleflight pads into camp, shame and guilt smeared across her face. she pleads for her father's forgiveness, saying she didn't want to hurt or oppose him; she just wanted everyone to get along.
she enters mateship with nightcloud. two months later, breezekit is born. his eyes carry stars that shine like the tears of his forebearers.
four months later, on a border patrol, deadstar swears he sees stars in the eyes of lionpaw, jaypaw, and hollypaw. they sparkle like the tears of their ancestors lost in the great exile.

Better Bones WindClan Family Tree: Draft 1
Tumblr media
[ID: The WindClan family tree for Better Bones. It's a color-coded chart of over 122 cats, with all of the cats alive as of the newest arc marked in green, and the 'progenitors' of each line marked in yellow.]
You may also want to see:
The Three Strict Rules
The Canon WindClan Diagnosis (for comparison)
ThunderClan
RiverClan
SkyClan
For the past few days, I've been trying to make ends meet with this tree. WindClan's biggest problem is how very few cats it has in-canon, with the Erins practically forgetting an entire generation between Tallstar's Revenge and TPB. As a result, I had to make this thing nearly from scratch.
The result is before you; there are 122 cats on this chart at the moment! I've used Missing Kits to try and patch the "bald spot" in the timeline, but I admittedly did have to scrounge up a couple cats here. There are still no OCs on this tree, but some unnamed background characters have been given names.
(I am also watching authorial statements like a HAWK in the hopes they will drop more names I can use to pad out some of the single-kit litters, like Appledawn's single kid Adderstone there)
I also have tried to balance the size of this Clan with BB!ThunderClan's count by ASC. There's now a little over 30 cats in this Clan.
Most of these trees have renamings, removals, and a changelog-- this one's going to be a bit different. Below the cut, you will see Renamings, Reserves, and a Changelog.
RENAMINGS: Format: Old Name (Origin) -> New Name (Reason)
Stagleap (WC) -> Stagfur (conflict)
Robinwing (WC) -> Robinflight (conflict)
Gorsetail (Po3) -> Whintail (Serious conflict with a Gorsetail in the very next arc)
Hickorynose -> Chicorynose (ecological accuracy)
Tornear -> Torear (Minor change to prevent him from being born Tornkit)
"Brown Tabby Tom" (Fire and Ice) -> Sparrowspeck (unnamed)
Whitetail's first sibling (OSC) -> Blackfur (unnamed; will update to canon name when revealed)
Whitetail's second sibling (OSC) -> Grayfoot (unnamed; will update to canon name when revealed)
Eaglekit (SSMK) -> Eagleswoop (save)
Storkkit (SSMK) -> Storkfeather (save)
Quailkit (SSMK) -> Quailheart (save)
Downkit (SSMK) -> Downwind (save)
Hillkit (SSMK) -> Hillrunner (save)
Adderkit (Cats of the Clans) -> Adderstone (save)
Galekit (OSC) -> Galerunner (save)
Buzzardkit (Po3) -> Buzzardclaw (save)
Drizzlepaw (SSMK) -> Drizzlefall (save)
Rustlepaw (SSMK) -> Rustlebush* (save) = Suffix might change, I'm not satisfied with it
Cranberrypaw (SSMK) -> Cranberrysplash (save)
Milkfur (FQ) -> Milktooth (conflict)
Snapper (Ravenpaw's Path) -> Snapstorm (MASSIVELY repurposed.)
Brushpaw (OSC) -> Brushblaze (save/repurpose)
Quickpaw (CotC) -> Quickclaw (shuffle)
Thistlepaw (CotC) -> Thistleseed (shuffle)
Pricklekit (CotC) -> Pricklepelt (shuffle)
(SSMK = Su Susann's Missing Kits)
RESERVES: There weren't enough cats for me to even consider cutting any; instead, here are some extra characters from field guides and unnamed in the background who could possibly show up again.
"Tortoiseshell Queen" from Fire and Ice; may just be Quailheart or Storkfeather, if not, her name will be Ruffclaw
"Gray Tom" from Fire and Ice; if named, he will be called Chipstone.
Swiftstar, Dalestar, Thrushbreeze, and Larkstripe's unnamed honor sire are all characters in Ripplestar's Rot, but they're just a bit too far back to be relevant at the moment.
Hareflight (FQ) is from the same time period. If they show up again, their name will be Harefrost.
Whitetail from Tigerclaw's leader ceremony was a WindClan cat in BB; she doesn't show up to his ceremony in this story, but she could appear on the tree at some point. If she does, her name will be Whitetuft.
From Code of the Clans, I am holding onto; Pebblefur, Acorntail, Morningcloud, Cloversplash, and Gorseclaw who would be renamed to Whinclaw.
Several leaders and Clerics could appear if BB ever went further back than Ripplestar's Rot. Swiftfoot, Stonestar, Duststar, Dovestar, Featherstar, Fallowstar, Rabbitstar... plus Mudpuddle, an ancient deputy.
Wanderkit and Muddyclaw from the Adventure Game are from WindClan; but currently not needed
Brightheart's surrogate kittens, Ambermoon, Snowbush, and Dewnose. Some could show up here if needed.
NOTE: If any of these characters show up again in canon, or are confirmed by authorial statement to have a different name, I will abide by that and update accordingly (unless the name is, of course, a conflict).
CHANGELOG: I tell you why I did the things and also point out what's different
Because this Clan was so empty and full of orphan warriors, I was able to completely make it however I wanted.
I also tried to make sure that MODERN WindClan is still VERY clean. Most of canon's "orphan warriors" are totally capable of being mixed with just about anyone else who's around in WindClan.
This is so I can accommodate just about whatever the Erins throw at us... within reason of course. Never doubt the Erin's ability to ruin a family tree.
In BB, Sunstrike and Furzepelt have expanded roles and survive to at least TBC, so I decided they would get Slightfoot. They're the kind of girls who would raise a rebel like him.
Ryestalk has been moved out of the Mist/Hare family. I have more need for her as a clean cat; and a better story to tell of her being afraid of tunneling. Her mother, Leafshine, died in a collapse.
I wanted to find some sort of in-between cat for Pigeonflight and Cranberrysplash, but unfortunately, I ran out of cats. She is probably adopted; found abandoned.
Fernstripe might move around in the future; for now she is a later birth to CranberryxDrizzle. If she moves, it'll probably be to SunxFurze.
Whiskernose is older now because I reworked his purpose in the Dark Forest
Drizzlefall was initially Runningbrook's child. When she dies in TNP, Webfoot raised her alongside his own kid, Rustlebush. They are marked as siblings for that purpose.
Mudclaw and Whitewater of ShadowClan had an unimportant fling during the journey. They both agreed it was an honor siring and would be kept quiet-- but Whitewater became a supporter of his during the rebellion.
When Mudclaw was smote by StarClan, she felt that the kittens were cursed.
She contacted Torear and arranged for him to take his nespring, but the night of the meeting, a snowstorm tore through the Clans. She couldn't take the runt, else he would freeze.
So, she kept Owlclaw of ShadowClan, and Harestar and Kestrelflight went to WindClan.
Brushblaze and Snapstorm are both ex-BloodClan, they did trading with WindClan just after the BloodClan battle, when Tallstar and Firestar opened up peace talks with the defeated Scourge.
Hareheatherbreeze and the Onestar Drama
So of course, one of the bigger changes in BB is that Harestar, Heathertail, and Breezepelt are in a polycule. I did a LOT with this fix in mind.
Onestar is now a single kitten. In Clanmew, his prefix is "Ul-arra," a whole fraction.
This was an expression of grief, as his mother Larksplash died in childbirth, along with his siblings. Cloudrunner was distant, unfortunately never recovering from the ordeal.
Him and Larksplash were quite old to be having a litter, and they knew the risks, but Onestar always felt like Cloudrunner blamed him, in a way.
Eventually, he wanted to raise a child. Whitetail honor dammed for him, and offered open coparentage, but Onestar politely declined. It was known Whitetail was Heathertail's parent, but they weren't very close.
Probably through a shared grievance with Onestar and feelings of responsibility over Heather, Whitetail and Brushblaze became very close. They eventually had two kittens-- Smokekit and Galekit.
Onestar interpreted this as them both trying to tell him they knew about Smoke, slipping further into paranoia towards the end.
Heathertail LOVED the two of them right away.
Unfortunately, Brushblaze laid down his life saving Kin refugees, including Heathertail and Breezepelt, by collapsing an escape tunnel on top of himself.
Galerunner and Smokehaze were only a few months old at the time.
Hareheatherbreeze will be keeping Brindlewing, Appleshine, and Woodsong! Brindlewing was first, with Apple and Wood coming in a second litter.
Tallstar's Family
In Tallstar's Collapse, Talltail leaves WindClan for a long period of time. He wandered with Jake and his family of nomads, eventually finding foundling kittens and deciding to adopt them with him.
But, eventually, he couldn't resist the pull of homesickness, and the desire to try and fix things in WindClan. He tried to leave the family he'd made behind-- but Fly followed him.
Talltail, naively, believed that Fly would remain innocent. That the kid would be above the battle culture of the Clans. He was wrong.
Fly became a ferocious warrior, even competing with him for the deputy position. If Talltail hadn't been quick or keen enough to kill an adder that was going for Heatherstar's grand-nephew, Flytail may have become leader of WindClan.
The kit was named Adderkit for this event, later becoming Adderstone.
Flytail, his mate Eagleswoop, and one of his daughters died in the WindClan Massacre. Talltail had already lost two half-siblings in the war.
What was once a large family was reduced to Tallstar, Stoneclaw, Wrenflight and her children.
Stoneclaw put off having kits for a time, eventually having two one-kit litters with her mate, Snapstorm; Buzzardclaw and Crouchfoot.

The Prophecies Begin: Changes
Last edited: 11/29/2023
I wanna start making posts about what I'd change in each arc for this au (I wanna start making art soon) so here we go: Tweaks I would make to TPB. This will be updated overtime and isn't expected to be complete when first posted.
Family Tree Changes:
-Longtail and Sandstorm are Tallstar's nephew and niece from Finchsong (saved kit) and Smokemask (filler oc). They're from different litters, with Longtail being a singlet, but Sandstorm's siblings were unfortunately stillborn, and Finchsong didn't survive the kitting. Because there were no nursing queens in WindClan, she was temporarily sent to ThunderClan and nursed by Nightdapple alongside Dustkit and Ravenkit. When she was weaned, she wanted to stay where she grew up, and Longtail left WindClan to be with her.
-Tigerstar's sisters live(d)! Mistpaw left the clans to live with her father, but Nightdapple became an archivist, keeping track of the clan's history. She's the mother to Dustpelt and Ravenpaw, who's father is an unnamed ThunderClan cat who died before they were born. She dies of greencough either before TPB alongside their mother, or sometime after Tigerclaw is exiled.
-Sandkit did view Nightdapple as her mother, but the Thunderstar dynasty explicitly does not claim her because of her heritage. Tigerclaw especially did not accept her as a niece, so she never knew him as an uncle or anything.
-Spottedleaf and Redtail were Rosetail's halfclan kits, and were extremely close. Spottedleaf is especially torn about her brother's death.
-Firestar and Scourge are full brothers through Jake and Quince, from separate litters.
-Firestar and Sandstorm get together earlier in the story, and Squirrelkit and Leafkit are born during "A Dangerous Path".
-Lionheart and Goldenflower are twins through Speckletail and their litters are close cousins who grew up alongside each other. Cinderkit and Brackenkit are from a slightly older litter than Brightkit and Thornkit. Swiftkit and Brightkit were especially close.
-Swiftpaw and Lynxkit are Tigerstar's kits from an older litter with Goldenflower.
-Graystripe and Darkstripe are full brothers from separate litters, and Willowpelt is their mother. (Willowpelt's parentage is undecided as of now, but she is no longer an Adderswift baby) Their father is undecided, but he is not in his sons' lives, and Willowpelt eventually moves on with her childhood friend, Whitestorm.
-Snowkit lives to become Snowtail and gets together with Ferncloud.
-Brindleface's litter was sired by a loner.
Storyline changes:
-Dustpaw is now Longtail's apprentice, and the both of them jeer at Rusty when he first arrives. Dustpaw is the one who fights Rusty and tears off his collar.
-Both Spottedleaf and Redtail give omens to Fireheart. StarClan's connection to the earth is very limited, and they cannot speak to Warriors very well, so they can't outright tell him how Redtail died.
-Spottedleaf is a morally gray character after she dies and until OotS, she becomes a spokesperson for StarClan and sees their visions as instruction. She believes she died early, so soon after delivering the "fire alone" prophecy, so that she could fulfill this role. She sees it as a personal slight when StarClan is "disobeyed". She isn't like this as much in TPB when she's recently dead and Fireheart doesn't have much of a reason to disobey her/StarClan, but we see this most with TNP and Po3 where she tries to force cats along a set path, IE Jaypaw.
-Whitestorm, Sandpaw and Longtail go with Fireheart and Graystripe to find WindClan. Bluestar isn't sending out fresh warriors to find a new clan on a whim. Sandpaw runs away so she can come along, and this is where she and Fireheart really start to build a genuine relationship.
-Squirrelkit gets poisoned by Darkstripe, not Sorrelkit. This is what breaks Firestar during The Darkest Hour.
-BloodClan is built up to throughout the series: in Fire and Ice for example, Fireheart will meet one of them at the border, though they are unnamed. BloodClan is the result of the clans' violent xenophobia, made up of cats who were brutalized by the clans and driven from the forest. Scourge's relationship to Firestar is also foreshadowed, as Firestar remembers his mother Quince mourning her older kit, Tiny. Firestar realizes their relationship and realizes that all this time, he's been the exception to the clans, not the rule. And even that's a stretch. The clans created BloodClan- this is what Thistleclaw and Tigerstar's ideology did. So when the battle comes, he defeats Scourge yet spares him, gaining his respect. While the clans all heal from the battle, they set up negotiations with the group and start to move forwards and start challenging the xenophobia in their system. Firestar offers Scourge a place in ThunderClan, but he denies. When the clans leave the forest, BloodClan remains a trade spot, similar to SkyClan.
