idk if root ever starts to like his dad or not but i got the vibe he would not name his son after tree so maybe bristle chose branchkit & root only agreed bc he wanted her to be happy. otherwise i dont think either of them are legacy name people so the other names are just things i thought were cute

also full transparency i just noticed that i had a second ask abt maple x golden! idk if this was the same person asking twice or two different ppl but i hadn't seen it before i posted. it was def sent before posting so i went ahead & just deleted it but in the future if i get repeats i'll answer directing them to where i already drew them! i don't expect u guys to meticulously search my blog, esp w/ tumblrs search function being the way it is, so no worries on if u ask for something i've already done! i may even do it again, if i feel so inclined

hi guys! yesterday was my last day of classes & now i have a month off for winter break between semesters. i'm going to close the ask box for a bit & try to catch up some on requests. everything i have in my ask box atm will get done eventually, so if u've sent a request it's been approved!

honeykit is of course named after honeyfern, & hemlock is just an h-name to match (although i did pick it specifically because one of poppyfrost's canon kits nearly died from hemlock poisoning- i thought that was a neat connection to canon)!

i think perhaps hem is rlly good at picking up on others' emotions- probably because he's good at reading the room, but maybe its a little bit of jayf's old power passed down to his kit.
