I have been drawing. a whole hell of a lot lately, and ive been doing pages like this in an effort to practice being less precious with my art. I have a bad habit of trying to make everything I draw be a big thing, so ive been using these pages to whip out ideas/concepts quicker, fill space and practice, and to get a feel for the characters themselves
some explanations/context under the cut if anybody wants to know what's going on here-

this page was slapping together some random ideas, and some practice for how I draw Cardassians. we have-
two different headshots of Doctor Ellok
a reference of Ellok's eye
a reference of Keyara's eyes
Larro with a different hairstyle- im toying with the idea of her chopping her hair at some point and wanted to get down the idea in my head on paper
the hands holding pinkies are Ellok and Keyara's hands
Mamotha, bandages over her eyes, kissing Quincey. this is a very specific scene that I was thinking about a lot at the time of doing this page

this page was to get down a vague episode concept in my head that revolves around Wilos. we have-
the bust of Wilos, mainly done to fill space and practice his face
Wilos in some sort of fight- fun fact this was the strongest visual in my head and was the reason I did this page
Ruven hugging Wilos, because I started thinking about their dynamic while I was doing this page and it made for good practice with drawing bodies interacting

My official Meet the Rosseto’s post
The Rosseto’s are the royal family of the elven kingdom, Nytranthyr, the family consists of: Ruven, Antoinette, Ryfon, Lierin, Faelyn, Elred and Logan
Ruven Rosseto
Ruven is the king of Nytranthyr and is the father of all 5 Rosseto kids. Before Ruven became king, he was one of the many knights of the kingdom. He also spent a little time in the human realm looking on a few missions where their realm had spilled into the human realm which is how he met his wife, Antoinette
Antoinette Rosseto née Datris
Antoinette is the Queen of Nytranthyr as Ruven is her husband, she is the mother to Lierin, Faelyn, Elred and Logan. Before she met Ruven, she was on route to taking over the family once her father stepped down as the only boy was 5 years old at the time.
Ryfon Rosseto (ignore the death note, he’s just presumed dead)
Ryfon is the oldest of the bunch at 31 years old still looking like a teenager but somehow his little brothers look older than him? 🤷🏾♂️ genetics, anyway Ryfon is the crowned prince of Nytranthyr at least he was before he went missing during one of his scouts around the kingdom.
Lierin Rosseto
Lierin is the second youngest at 28 years old and is now the crowned princess as she’s next in line as her brother is presumed dead/missing. Lierin is a necromancer who can only manage to bring back animals up to the size of a bunny but she gets better…eventually
Faelyn Rosseto
Faelyn is 3rd, technically 2nd, in line for the crown. He is the middle at 25 years old. Faelyn when he isn’t going around patrolling the streets of the kingdom is usually holed up in his room drawing or doing pottery stuff. He also spends a lot of time in the garden with his mother
Elred Rosseto
Elred is the second youngest at 23 years old and is 4th, technically 3rd, in line for the crown. When Elred isn’t training the new recruits for the Knight Corps, you can find him in his room either drawing or in the kitchen cooking. It really helps with the stress ya know?
Logan Rosseto
The man, the myth, the legend…Logan. Logan is 5th (4th) in line for the crown and is the youngest at 15 years old. He has managed to get out of helping around the kingdom as he had managed to snag his way into the human realm through Hogwarts. Speaking of human realm, Logan is Hufflepuff, believe it or not, at Hogwarts. Shocking right?

🌻- His mental health is hard to really explain. Technically his mind is fine, it functions normally and has no anomalies, except the question of the moments of amnesia. Behold, it is his punishment, and his punishment also affects his mind. Indeed, it seems that he is destined to go crazy. But for now he can't know, it's when he's in his normal state he has no problem, he's just a little weird.
🌴- In all honesty, considering living people, I think his favorite person is Zaafir. They have a very similar worldview, they have a pact and they are tied in an extremely intimate relationship. Each of them has great influence on the other. In fact, I have always thought that between them there could also be a platonic love.
🌙 - Umh ... From his point of view, traveling between worlds is a forbidden hobby so ... but from our point of view, maybe his passion for skeletons could be quite disturbing, he collects a lot of them (but he would not hurt a fly, consciously).

I completed my thesis defense... two weeks ago. And finished the sketch, which was not supposed to be something big :D
I don’t really like the result, but at least I got out of my comfort zone, the angle from the back, and even in armor, yay.
Objectively, with their difference in height, it is very convenient for Ruven to place his hand in this particular place.

Wip Wednesday: A Fighting Storm
Here's what I have for chapter one of my book "A Fighting Storm" so far! I mainly talk about the characters on my main blog, but I'll be sharing what I have so far on here. This is only going to be a first draft of the book that I'm posting so there will be many errors/inconsistencies.

A Fighting Storm is about a 17 year old named Aquari, who after running away from home is transported to a magical world after coming in contact with The Wishing Tree, a tree that both grants a person's deepest wish and transports them to the magic world (If the person's deepest wish harms themself or others it will only transport them, and not grant their wish). After meeting a band of rebels Aquari joins them to help them stop the tyrannical rulers from killing others.
(Wip under the cut, feel free to tell me if theres anything in need of fixing, you guys are kinda my beta readers)
Chapter 1: The Wishing Tree
They ran as fast as they could through the forest as their mother called out for them.
“Aquari! We just want to help!” She said,
“It would help for her to see how horrible her boyfriend is…” Aquari said under their breath as they kept running.
After their father died their mother seemed to immediately start dating a man named Brandon, he was always mean and rude to Aquari, never called them by the right name and always called them a girl even when they told him they were non-binary. And yet their mother just looked the other way. Even if things ended up physical. Aquari hated Brandon but there was nothing that could get their mother to back down on marrying him. So they ran away.
Aquari soon came across a large tree that was certainly not there the last time they were in the woods. They heard their mother call out for them again and decided to climb the tree to hide, but when they touched the tree there was a bright flash, and they had fallen out of the same tree but in another place.
“Hey kid, you shouldn't be here, this area is for Royal Guard patrol only, we’re looking for a dangerous criminal,” An elven looking man said.
“Royal Guard…?” Aquari asked.
Before the guard could say anything, he noticed Aquari’s round ears.
“A human! Oh the queen would love to speak with you,” The guard said.
It was obvious to Aquari that they were not wanted for a nice chat with tea by the way the guard spoke. So they tried to run. The guard followed and grabbed Aquari by the arm and threw them down.
“Alright, we’ll do this the hard way” The guard said, raising a sword.
And as quickly as the sword came up it came down, and clashed against a magic shield.
“General Aymon. Why are you wasting your time with this creature?” A tall elf cloaked in green asked.
“Commander! I found a human, that means The Wishing Tree-” Aymon began.
“Was open. If a human was brought here, that means The Wishing Tree is closed now, and will remain closed for another 100 years. You did nothing in finding this human, now get back to base, your patrol group is waiting for you,” The tall elf said.
After General Aymon left and was out of earshot the tall mysterious elf had become a fishlike person. He had grayish blue skin, fins on his head instead of pointed ears like the elves, and Maroon hair.
“Name’s Scarab,” he said looking around as if hoping no one was around.
“I’m Aquari…” Aquari said nervously.
“That’s a nice name, we should head over to my place before the general finds out he was lied to,” Scarab said.
“I think we better hurry then! I hear someone coming!” Aquari urgently said.
“Better hang on then!” Scarab exclaimed as he scooped up Aquari.
As Scarab started to run his feet became wheels and he began to skate through the cleared path. Soon enough they came to a small cave.
“This is your home?” Aquari asked, trying to sound as non judgemental as possible.
“Ah, not quite,” Scarab said as he placed Aquari down.
He extended his hand towards the opening of the small cave and with a few ripples the cave became a large house.
“I call it the Rebel’s Alcove,” Scarab said, “oh and by the way, I was the ‘dangerous criminal’ they were looking for.”
“What!?” Aquari said, jumping back.
“Sush, you don’t want them to hear us, the only thing that could be considered ‘dangerous’ that I have done is impersonation, I mean I have to use my shapeshifter powers for some mischief right?” Scarab said, with a slight laugh.
The two of them entered the Rebel’s Alcove. Inside was an elf with brown skin and a gradient of dark green going up her hand. She looked to be about Scarab’s age (which Aquari guessed was late 20s, early 30s). She was asleep on the couch with a small green dragon plush on her chest.
“That’s Thera, she was screwed over by the royals too,” Scarab said.
“How so?” Aquari asked.
“She said the prince wasn't hot,” Scarab said.
“Damn so they really don't tolerate any slander?” Aquari asked.
“Mhm,” Thera said, sitting up, “and it isn’t a matter of homophobia either, they don’t care who you kiss, or what your gender is, they just care that you’re obedient.”
“And what’s the punishment for being disobedient, or speaking out…?” Aquari asked.
“Death,” Scarab said.
“So even saying something as harmless as ‘the prince isn't hot’ can get you killed?!” Aquari exclaimed.
“Yeppers,” Thera said.
Just then a younger kid in a wheelchair rolled into the room.
“Oh, hey Ruven!” Scarab said.
“Who’s the kid?” Ruven asked.
“Oh, this is Aquari,” Scarab said as he patted Aquari’s head, “found ‘em being attacked by a guard general after falling from The Wishing Tree.”
“The Wishing Tree was open?” Ruven asked.
“Yeah,” Scarab said.
The Wishing Tree was the only gateway between the human world and the magic world. And the Queen of the magic world, Queen Siraye, wants to make The Wishing Tree permanently open. That may sound nice, but it would drain a lot of resources from both worlds, and behind closed doors Queen Siraye wishes to spill the blood of humans for no discernible reason other than thinking that humans are lower than magical beings, despite them being more so equals.
