Loved your answer about what's the hate the show and certain characters are getting in tumblr. I personally don't get how a show with characters (Mike particularly) everybody loved so so much and a couple (mileven) everybody adored (plus it was made so clear since season 1, like no doubts they were endgame) now they get so much hate. It's heartbreaking. I know it's something only happening in tumblr (and maybe Twitter) because all my friends in real life still think the same about characters and couples and when I tell them arguments in tumblr they can't believe it but it's sad you can't go around tags because all you read is hate. I only check your account and a couple more (so if you know another good accounts I'd be thankful) since I'm here to enjoy and not be mad. Don't get how people can be disappointed about not getting their way or their predictions not being right when those predictions are literally invented based only on their desires... I've shipped fanon couples all my life but I knew that. Sorry for the rambling but it's being so heartbreaking seeing what's happening in this fandom I enjoyed so much.

No need to apologize, anon! It’s hard to be in a fandom that’s immersed in drama when all you want to do is enjoy the fandom.

That said, I think it’s fair and valid that people are disappointed with how vol 2 went - and there are a variety of valid criticisms to be leveled at what we got in the last two episodes of ST4, as well as how vol 2 was promoted and what they chose to feature.

I know, for myself, that I’m legitimately disappointed they didn’t explicitly address Will’s sexuality when they very much hinted that it would be addressed. It’s edging close to queerbaiting and for people who are legitimately upset about this, they’re not just allowed to be but I feel justified in feeling angry and having their hopes toyed with.

Where some of my sympathy has limits is in being mad that a fanon ship didn’t become canon. There’s this worrying trend I’ve seen in fandom in general where a ship has to be canon in order to be valid when no? That’s literally never been how fandom works?

I’ve shipped tons of non-canon ships. I’ve shipped crossover ships, AU ships, ships that never had any hope of being canon, ships that could have been canon….the list goes on. I’ve been in fandom for 25 years in one way shape or form so I’ve experienced the full gamut of what’s possible in shipping. So I understand the disappointment when a ship doesn’t become canon, I really really do. And, yes, I totally get wanting ships to be canon for media representation and/or because you think it makes better narrative sense.

BUT.

Shipping a non-canon ship that doesn’t become canon doesn’t mean you were promised something that never came to pass (I’m explicitly talking about the writing, not how certain ships were marketed in between vol1 and vol2 - that’s a completely different and more valid complaint/criticism). It just means you ship a non-canon ship and the creators have different ideas about their creation.

That’s it. That’s literally it. If your ship never becomes canon, well that’s what fanfic is for. Yes, it’s ok to be disappointed - it’s more than ok, actually. But it’s not ok to be mean or take out your disappointment on other fans/the creators/the cast. It’s not. It’s immature and in some cases reeks of entitlement.

So yes, be disappointed. Be angry. That’s your right! But recognize that it doesn’t mean you can take it out on other people and that just because you expect something doesn’t mean you’re entitled to it.

I’ve often wanted a section in prompt memes like this for those who’d been inspired by a prompt, but what they want to write isn’t what the prompter asked for exactly or contradicts it (i.e. a higher rating, in an AU setting when they asked for canonverse, they only want to write it themselves, etc.). Gift exchanges are supposed to be more tailored for the recipient, they “own” the prompt so to speak, but comment ficathons feel more “for everybody”. Please explain LXC/Wen Qing and Wen Ning/Jiang Cheng because I have never read anything about them and now I very much want to

Okay, listen, I understand that Lan Xichen/Jiang Cheng is the Popular Ship, but I’m just not particularly grabbed by it.  It’s fine, I’ve read some thoroughly charming fic for it, but I like a ship with some drama to it, and therefore: what if we got Wen Ning the most complicated boyfriend(s) possible.  This is an incredibly spoiler-heavy rant, so if Tumblr decides to work with me it SHOULD be under a cut.

Lan Xichen/Wen Ning

The short version: Lan Xichen needs clarity, Wen Ning needs compassion, they’re both very fucked up by Jin Guangyao’s actions, they could heal together.

So from Lan Xichen’s side of things, he’s lost...the whole world.  Not really.  Not literally.  But he lost Jin Guangyao, and in losing Jin Guangyao he lost his solid ground, because Jin Guangyao is not who Xichen believed him to be.  That lie destroyed Xichen’s memory of his sworn brother, sure, but it also ruined Xichen’s sense of self.  He’s been defending Jin Guangyao against his detractors for a long time, he trusted him implicitly, he left Nie Mingjue in his care, he comforted Jin Guangyao over the death of his son, he backed Jin Guangyao against Wei Wuxian--the things that Lan Xichen has unintentionally been complicit in are numerous.  But most importantly, for the issue at hand, Lan Xichen stood by and let the Wens be massacred, because he trusted Jin Guangyao and wanted to keep the peace.

Lan Wangji couldn’t have stopped the massacre of the Wens--he might be well respected and revered, but he’s one man, and in the wake of the Sunshot Campaign...well.  One person’s voice probably wouldn’t have changed much.  But Lan Xichen?  Leader of the Lan Sect?  If the Twin Jades had stood together to defend the Wens, if Lan Xichen had believed Wei Wuxian and Wen Qing about the prison camps, if he had spoken on their behalf when Wei Wuxian was denounced as a liar and a murderer...things might have been different.  Lan Xichen chose to be silent because he wanted to keep the peace, and because he chose who he was going to trust, and now he knows he made the wrong choice.

And Wen Ning suffered for it.  Wen Ning fucking died for it.  Wen Ning is every mistake Lan Xichen ever made, walking around in the sunlight.  But Wen Ning is still a deeply kind person, who dotes on Sizhui and is endlessly loyal to Wei Wuxian and protects people who hate him because he doesn’t want to see more bloodshed.  In a lot of ways, Wen Ning actually is what Lan Xichen always believed Jin Guangyao was--self-effacing, loyal, trustworthy, determined, gentle, kind.  He’s also dead because Lan Xichen trusted the Jin sect too much to check up on their prison camps.  Tell me about how THAT shit goes down, when Lan Xichen starts to come out of seclusion and runs into Wen Ning visiting Wei Wuxian.

More than that, Wen Ning was used for sixteen years to advance Jin Guangyao’s agenda after having a lot of people he loved killed indirectly by the man himself.  I don’t know, I feel like he and Lan Xichen might be good for each other, in that capacity.  

Jiang Cheng/Wen Ning

The short version: Jiang Cheng needs someone who will call him on his shit without getting shredded in the process, Wen Ning could really stand to have someone fight for him (and push him to fight for himself), it would be combative and unfriendly for a while but they have potential to grow a lot together.

I talked a little in the tags on this post about this, but now I don’t have a migraine and am far more cogent so let’s take this one again.  That post features the best explanation I’ve ever seen of Jiang Cheng, which is that he’s essentially an emotional savant: he’s incredibly emotionally intuitive, but only when it comes to bespoke cruelty.  The rest of the time, he’s floundering, out of his depth just by existing.  It’s not his fault, he is what he was made to be, but it’s a huge part of the reason that all his relationships tend to look very combative and trend toward spectacular breakdown--even when he’s being kind, it’s being filtered through this reality that he only really understands people when he’s looking for a place to hurt.  He can avoid those old wounds, like he does with Jin Ling (he’s genuinely trying his best to be a good uncle and he’s definitely a big part of the reason Jin Ling is as functional as he is), but that’s about the best he’s got in his arsenal.

Which, of course, is why Wen Ning pretty consistently throws him off his game.  What’s he going to hurt Wen Ning with?  Guilt?  Wei Wuxian, in his grief and madness, already did a better job than Jiang Cheng could ever dream.  Shame?  Wen Ning, of the Qishan Wen, the Ghost General, has been heaped with every shame the world could create for him, and he kept walking because he had no choice.  Loss?  Wen Ning’s entire family is dead.  He’s just like Jiang Cheng in that way, except worse--Jiang Cheng lost his parents and his sect and his siblings, just like Wen Ning did, except that Wen Ning also lost himself, in every imaginable way.  But Wen Ning, killed in a prison camp and only barely rescued from a mass grave, has already hurt as deeply as a person could--Jiang Cheng can’t rip open that wound any further than it has been.  Wen Ning, in a weird sort of way, is immune to Jiang Cheng’s particular brand of cruelty.  It stings him to be denied entry to Lotus Pier, but he’s neither surprised nor upset, just resigned to the reality.  He’s only angry when that cruelty is turned on someone else.

Jiang Cheng can rant and rave all he wants, and Wen Ning will sit there and look him dead in the eye and say “no amount of cruelty is going to make you anything other than what you are,” and I dunno, man, I think that would be good for Jiang Cheng, to be totally honest.  Also, once he’s been exposed to Wen Ning for long enough to wear down some of that raw edge and realize that...actually, the Ghost General he’s spent all this time hating is just a somewhat tired man who drew most of the same short straws Jiang Cheng did, I think...

I think Jiang Cheng has real potential to start turning that sharp tongue on people in Wen Ning’s defense.  He’d hate it, the first time someone hesitantly asked if the Ghost General was allowed inside now (”of course he is, I invited him, didn’t I” Jiang Cheng snarls, and then pointedly ignores Wen Ning for the rest of the evening like that’s going to make up for it), but he hates being called out on having emotions at all.  And it would be good for Wen Ning to have someone who would step up to the mat for him, teeth bared and ready to fight.  

TL;DR I wound up on both of these because I wanted to think of the most angst-ridden potential romances for Wen Ning, but the more I thought about them, the more I realized that they’re both actually a really good match.  Like, they’re not just interesting ships, the characters would actually improve each other, in ways that would probably make them happy together.  Now THAT’S a functional ship, baby.

Everyone stood out on the property of the Stark Cabin, staring out at the water as they watched the wreath of flowers with the first arc reactor, the ‘proof that Tony has a heart’ disappear into the distance. Nobody spoke, hardly anyone even breathed, not wanting to address what was happening. 

And then Steve sighed. 

“This is stupid, Tony,” he announced loudly, breaking the strange hush. He looked directly at the man standing over by the tree, wearing a cowboy hat and Clark Kent glasses. His normally immaculate beard was filled in unevenly with what appeared to be magic marker, simulating thick, bushy sideburns that came to a point on his chin. “I can see you.” 

“Nope,” Tony intoned, not even looking over at him. “I’m dead.” 

In front of Steve, wearing sunglasses and holding a to-go cup of coffee, Jim Rhodes nodded. “Super dead,” he agreed.

“There, there, Colonel,” Tony called over to him. “I know Mr. Stark’s death was a particularly tragic loss for you.” 

“Love of my life. Gone too soon,” Rhodey deadpanned. “And that’s Dr. Stark, thank you.” 

Behind the ridiculous marker moustache, Steve caught Tony’s lips twitching up into a pleased grin. He sighed again, wondering if, in fact, he had died, and now he was in hell. 

Steve had tried to appeal to Pepper beforehand. He got the point Tony was making; retirement hadn’t worked, the only way he was getting out of the superhero business and spending time with his daughter was if he “died” before it actually killed him. And maybe he shouldn’t have been surprised, considering Tony’s flare for the dramatic, but an entire funeral felt ridiculous to him. It wasn’t as though they didn’t all know that Tony was alive, and standing there, and that his “disguise” had been drawn on my Morgan -- the fact that she was sporting matching magic marker facial hair was a dead giveaway. 

Pepper, however, had ignored Steve’s attempts at reason. Instead she looked back at him in that way that simultaneously terrified him and turned him on a little, and said, “How dare you, Captain. I’m a widow.” 

And then, because apparently drama ran in the Iron Family, she’d shown up at Tony’s “funeral” in full black mourning wear, complete with a veil covering her face. Steve glanced over at her, standing on his far side, next to Nat. 

“I still can’t believe you’re onboard with this,” he grumbled. “I thought you were supposed to be the sensible one!” 

Pepper gave an unconcerned shrug, twining her fingers with Nat’s. “I’ve been saying being a hero would kill him for a decade. Did you expect me to pass up the opportunity to be right?” 

Tony made a show of shuddering at that, hissing through his teeth. “Good thing I’m -- he’s -- already dead, ‘cause that burn would have cremated me -- him -- alive.” 

Steve just rolled his eyes as Rhodey snickered, he and Tony sharing an air high five from three feet away. “I hate you all,” he grumbled. 

Bucky gave him a pat on the back then, something that was probably supposed to seem comforting, but felt more like he was making fun of him. “I don’t really think you’re in a place to be calling anyone out, pal,” he pointed out. “You missed Pepper and Nat’s wedding.” 

Steve groaned for what felt like the millionth time that day. “I thought that was a joke!”

He really had. The invitation had arrived only a day after he’d come back from returning the Infinity Stones with Nat in tow. He hadn’t even known they were together; how was he supposed to know they were actually getting married? It wasn’t until the next day that he’d found out that not only had it not been a joke, but that everyone had been there -- including the recently deceased Tony. Thor had married them because, as Nat had told Steve later, “Married under god, married by a god. It’s like world peace.” Steve had no idea what that meant. 

(Bucky, apparently, had taken Sam. He’d found the whole thing delightful.) 

“Rude,” Nat told him noq, standing on tiptoe to give Pepper a quick kiss. “I know it was fast, but missed opportunities and all that.” 

Pepper gave her new wife a besotted smile, sweet enough to make even Steve calm down a little. And then she ruined it with, “Besides, with Tony’s death, it was better to get remarried ASAP. Helps with the inheritance and stocks issues.” 

Steve was pretty sure that wasn’t even right, but he wasn’t going to waste time arguing.

Later, when the service was finished and they’d moved inside for the reception, which had rapidly devolved into a party, Steve couldn’t seem to stop himself from watching Tony. He watched as he passed Morgan off to Happy, giving her a long, long hug before she headed off for her nap. He watched the quiet moment he shared with Pepper, the less quiet kiss that he shared with Rhodey, the way he comforted Peter when he caught him crying in the corner because, “I know it’s not real, Mr. Stark, but it could be.” 

He lost him after that, drawn into a debate between Sam and Bucky over the difference between lox and smoked salmon. After that he ducked out onto the porch for a breath of fresh air, and then suddenly Tony was at his elbow, Steve’s super serum reflexes the only thing keeping him from jumping out of his skin -- not that he was going to tell him that.

“You alright, Cap?” he asked, and he was laughing but there was something softer around his eyes now. Steve noticed the way he rubbed at his right arm, full mobility not yet returned. “You’re seeming a little off, and I know this level of shenanigans isn’t your usual scene.” 

“No, I'm fine,” he insisted, trying to play it off. But maybe Peter had something, because the next moment he was grabbing Tony’s arm -- his good one -- to keep him from walking away. “I’m just really glad you’re here, Tony.” 

Tony grinned, but he settled his other hand over Steve’s, rubbing against his skin in the way Steve imagined he might soothe Morgan after a nightmare. “Me too,” he told him, honestly. “But don’t worry, Cap. Fake funeral aside, I’m not going anywhere any time soon.” He looked at him seriously for a long moment, and then broke out into a bright grin. “Besides. I know you’re not Captain America anymore, and I know I’m technically dead now, but I’m still available for consulting.” He grinned wide, offering Steve a wink. “My office hours are between eight and five every other Thursday.”

obviously this is hard to be objective about. this stuff is a lot less concrete than my first post, a lot more based on vibes i got, which, yknow, is why it’s not in my first post. but if anyone identifies with this, if anyone sees their own experiences in this discord reflected in mine, then it’s going to be worth the worry i’m reading too much into things, or others thinking the same of me. if i can help anyone who felt like THEY were mistreated there and weren’t sure if they were reading too much into things, then. it’s worth it. especially since the M.O. in there was ‘everything’s fine and if not we’re going to MAKE IT FINE by silencing anyone who disagrees’.

a lot of talk has been done about the censorship (word used loosely, first amendment protects from the government not from the mods etc, definitely a specific suppression of dissenting ideas though) the mods have been doing--once more i suggest @kfam-tea for receipts and screenshots. not something i feel great about, but not something i have personal experience with, so i won't speak to it. see also my first post about my interactions with the creators. it touches on the dogpiling, which i'll go into more depth on in this post. you can find it [link: here].

so. the first thing in the official discord that tipped me off about the hivemind samethink phenomenon is that the whole place is distinctly frosty on the subject of samben. that’s a post all its own, one that follows through to numbers on ao3 and whatever, but i’m not here to make a ship manifesto. suffice it to say i got attached to the ship upon listening, inhaled the (suspiciously small) ao3 tag, and was stopped in my tracks at the discord server where any implication of such ship inclinations were met with silence and pointed changes of subject.

distinctly weird. distinctly unusual fandom behavior, that i couldnt even hint around shipping the two men whose incredibly profound relationship is literally the crux of the show, who have exchanged ‘i love you’s, one of whom is confirmed gay--all other romantic entanglements aside, because when have those stopped shippers? that was weird. i realize that's maybe a bit tinfoil hat of me. it could have been the goldfish-bowl big-brother-is-watching vibe from having creators in there, except, as i said, it carries to other sites.

anyway, much more concrete was when i spoke out about my thoughts on ben’s actions in ep68. again, enough there for another post, so tl;dr: he was doing his best, he’s a good guy and a good friend, but his actions DIRECTLY outed sammy to the WHOLE town, without allowing sammy to say the words himself. it was an accident, yes, but it had tangible, harmful consequences, and even accidental harm warrants apology. it should at least be... acknowledged. at some point. by the show OR the fandom. it's a disservice to ben himself to never get the chance to own up to it.

this was an unacceptable take. i tried breaching this topic and making my case twice, and got THOROUGHLY dogpiled both times. a dozen fans crawled out of the woodwork to argue heatedly, sometimes getting quite aggressive, sometimes toeing the line of outright hostility toward me personally. definitely some downright rude messages. not once did anybody speak up to defend my right to put forward my dissenting opinion, let alone SUPPORT my argument, god forbid. ben’s were the actions of a good friend, i was told. outing someone to their whole town without giving them the chance to say it on their own terms didn't qualify as harm at all, i was told, on account of ben's heart being in the right place.

still, the opinions being argued matter less than the attitudes and behaviors. people don't have to agree with me about that ep, i don't care. i do care about being given the right to, as a single person on my own, have space to make an argument without being shouted down by a dozen people. i do care about how it fit into a greater pattern of forbidding any criticism of the show, and ben in particular, who is a good friend and therefore all of his actions are good and harmless, who is our resident heterosexual unassailable paragon of purity. which might explain the samben problem--sammy/ron[/jack] was perfectly fine, even popular, but there was never a whisper of shipping ben with anyone but emily. they're Official. theyre The Perfect Couple. don't you dare challenge that (and for the most part, i didn’t dare. i quickly learned not to).

my [link: previous post] details kyle's response to these fun events, where he specifically went out of the way to follow me being shouted into silence (a result of me being driven to literal tears and shutting down rather than invite more argument) with a warm congratulations to everybody for their conduct in this discussion. because that's the kind of conversation kyle wants to specifically and explicitly praise and encourage, i guess.

anyway. this contributed to the growing sense over my time in the discord that people held a certain distaste for me but didn’t want to say anything direct. instead they talked around me, ignored me, immediately changed the subject from my messages, the whole while bestowing constant glowing compliments on each other and endlessly repeating saccharine sentiments about what a nice family type community they were, how grateful they were for the discord being such a positive space. i suppose that’s an easy impression to get when negativity is ruthlessly suppressed (and apparently outright censored nowadays) and instead of insults or, god forbid, communication with people with whom folks might take issue, they just (more or less) silently stonewall and cold shoulder them.

again, i could be misreading cues, being egocentric or tinfoil hat by reading this pattern into how i in particular was treated. either way, the fact that i was given the fandom friday shout out the week after KFAM live was definitely... strange. fishy, even. i was already mostly out the door at that point, had been for weeks--it was actually in my last few days speaking there period. i felt strangely guilty that they would dedicate a day to me when i didn’t like being there much and hardly spoke any longer. one thing’s for sure: my congratulations were fewer and more impersonal, perfunctory, and/or generic than other fans got (i kept a screenshot). i still have no idea what to make of that one, but there you have it.

p.s.: since vagues are in vogue now apparently, i might as well mention the person who's been accused of being A Problem In The Discord For A While Now, among nastier things, which definitely is not an effort to justify kyle's passive aggressive response to their untagged post which used the phrase 'death of the author', or kyle subsequently crying on twitter about death threats because apparently he couldn't be bothered to google a basic literary analysis term and thought if he was vague enough nobody would look into what was actually said. i guess he was right, if the hundreds of asspats and outcries against The Evils Of Podcast Fan Meanies were any indication.

Much panicking about unintentional cheating happens, because he’s accidentally in love with Garak while dating Ezri - except (more spoilers) Ezri is trying to set him up with Garak anyway. Ezri is totally poly and way more chill than 99% of people would be in her position. Past Kira/Keiko/Miles.

Special note I mentioned to current betas: you should probably know that i feel some sort of divided way about how ezri is SO accepting of julian's disaster sexuality, because a) i've never once seen any character react like that, ever, in anything fictional or real (potentially bc of lack of bi and poly rep), and b) her reactions are based on how i would react in her place??? (note that i'm aro, ace, and bi, (well that's simplified) so if i was in a relationship with julian it would definitely be platonic but me being madly attracted to him despite that) so it's like... really personal but also i'm worried nobody would relate and would say i made her a pushover. so any pointers you have there would be lovely <3

What do you think about Hawks / Fuyumi ? Would they really fit together?

You know, I debated about making a post like this at some point, so now’s really as good a time as ever… Let’s get a few things out of the way:

People ship what they want. They don’t need a rhyme or reason and aren’t wrong for shipping what they want as long as they don’t leave their own camp to go harass someone else. Supporting other ships and people enjoying their ships is always cool, though!

I can give my opinions of what I ship and why, but I don’t actually have any delusion that my opinion will majorly sway any one individual and definitely not any shipping camp. See point #1.

This will be less about what I personally ship and is more of a speculative post based on characterization we’ve seen in the series so far as what MAY BECOME CANON. For fairness’ sake, I’ll be including Endeaver, Dabi, and Miruko (as some of the most popular shipping options with Hawks and to also get them out of the way preemptively) and weighing SOME of the pros and cons as well as rating the ship on the plausibility meter from 1-5. (1 being least likely and 5 being most.) This, however, means nothing in the end and is just an exercise in speculation. See point #1.

I will not be throwing this out into the larger character and ship tags because even though it isn’t my intention to start a ship war that will not stop people who don’t like how I dunk on their ship or don’t dunk on another. This is just my opinion in the end, after all. If this gets shared far and wide so be it, but ultimately: see point #1.

Let us begin.

Hawks x Fuyumi:

Pros: 

Close in age 

Both focused on helping people.

Both insinuated to be looking for a normal, loving family experience after a rough childhood.

Cons:

Haven’t met in the series at the time of writing

Neither are indicated to have much in common

While definitely not unheard of (See: David Tenant), dating and eventually marrying the daughter of your role model invites some additional drama and strain not usually incorporated into a relationship

Canon Rating: 1/5 - Not likely at all.

Do I ship it? No

Additional comments: There’s potential for some sweet interactions in this ship, but there’s really no indication in canon to base this ship on, nor is there any significant addition to the plot their relationship would have. It doesn’t always have to be the case, but usually authors strategically pair up characters to introduce new interpersonal dynamics or further the plot through character development. (Assuming it’s not just pairing characters together for the sake of pairing them.)

Hawks X Miruko:

Pros:

Interesting couple dynamic

Hero power couple

Already seem to be on friendly terms with each other.

Cons:

Little canon interaction

No indication the relationship is more than friendly

Despite being popular, there’s more character showcase of Fuyumi than Miruko so far

Canon Rating: 1/5- Not likely at all.

Do I ship it? No

Additional comments: Most of the same problems Hawks x Fuyumi runs into. Personal opinion, I prefer the two as a BrOTP.

Hawks X Endeavor: (Oh boy, here we go…)

Pros:

Established interpersonal connection

Insinuated they’ll continue to have interactions meant to be deeply personal and moving in nature

Hawks’ deep-seated - even if misguided - urge to do good combined with Endeavor’s newfound understanding and respect for the role of “#1 Hero” has a lot of real potential for deep character development.

Cons:

Major age difference - Endeavor is literally old enough to be Hawk’s father

Major power imbalance - Hawks has looked up to him since childhood as a role model and idol

Endeavor’s abuse history has yet to be revealed and combined with Hawks’ insinuated rough childhood and clear disillusion with the hero system it will not bode well for their relationship when it comes to light

Canon Rating: 1/5 - Not likely at all.

Do I ship it? No

Additional comments: Based on Endeavor’s role in Hawk’s life so far, assuming that it even survives the reveal of his family’s abuse, Endeavor is canonically a much more familial figure - a father figure and role model. 

Side note - my opinion: This ship usually doesn’t bother me, but it does kind of get under my skin on occasion. While I can only speak for myself, if I held someone in that regard and then turn around just to be told I want to boink them I would be downright pissed. Not only is that disregarding my feelings about the role that person had in shaping my life but it also reduces the relationship we shared into mere sex for someone else’s gratification. (I hold this opinion for other parental role/child role;teacher/mentor ships, too.) I think most people come to similar conclusions and realize that some relationships need to just stay platonic. I believe that’s what Horikoshi holds for these two in canon.

Hawks X Dabi: (Oh boy, the other one…)

Pros:

The fanfiction is literally just BEGGING to be written for these two. Enemies to lovers, plain old alternate timelines, the possibilities are endless.

Horikoshi has been about as subtle about the parallels between these two as much as the fact that Dabi is Touya Todoroki

There’s a significant chance that these two characters have been so tightly tied together in narrative that their fates may literally hinge on the actions the other takes.

Even their color schemes are complimentary!

Cons:

They effing hate each other

No really, that’s a much bigger hurdle to overcome than most people seem to realize.

On a fundamental level Hawks HATES Dabi for being callous and dismissive of the lives he throws away, and I don’t think finding out about Endeavor’s abuse will tip the scales too far in his favor based on what we know of his character.

Canon Rating: 2/5 - Not very likely.

Do I ship it? No

Additional comments: As it stands in canon Dabi is the most likely character to end up canonically shipped with Hawks, but even that’s majorly unlikely as things currently stand between them. Hawks hasn’t been able to get anywhere NEAR the League - the latter not even realizing that Hawks is trying to get in - and all that internal struggle I brought up that Hawks is going through? That’s because of DABI. That’s literally ALL Dabi’s fault. Hawks currently sees him as a lying, murdering manipulator and terrorist who only cares about watching the world burn and he needs to be stopped at all costs. The only reason Dabi gets an extra point from the others is pure speculation as far as where the manga is almost DEFINITELY going (at least as far as Hawks joining the League and Endeavor’s exposure - putting Dabi in a more sympathetic light), but that’s it.

Side note - my opinion: Please, I GET IT. These two are ridiculously shippable, but I have a hard time getting past that glaring problem in canon to do so. I can easily see it in a true AU, but canonically I just don’t see it happening. Hawks as a character would have to change SO DRAMATICALLY for the ship to happen - assuming Dabi remains a villain until the end - or Dabi would, and I see stooping to that to see the two wind up together is a major disservice to the individual characters as well as the author who clearly has something to say with these characters that’s much bigger and more culturally critical in nature than just “and then they kissed!” That isn’t to say they can’t ever happen. I don’t know where the story is going, but I’m making an educated guess based off of the evidence I currently have.

And with that done, you may be wondering, “But if you don’t ship him with any of those, who do you ship him with?” To that I answer:

Myself. I’m only 5% serious, guys, chill.

I thoroughly believe you do not need to ship a character with anyone to enjoy them, and it’s kind of heartbreaking to see such a suffocating ship culture in fandom now. I don’t think anon meant to be so when they asked this question, by any stretch of the imagination, but I did want to just get this all out in the open before I got asked my opinion on the others because I’ve seen it coming for a while now, and answering their question would have invited this discussion in the first place.

But always remember that regardless of who ships what that it’s no cause to harass anyone else. Enjoy your separate corners of fandom and get excited about the things you share. If it’s just too much for you to personally deal with, blacklist and avoid that content. In the end it makes a much more safe and inclusive space to enjoy for everyone!

Godmodding:

No, thank you. However I'm perfectly fine if you decide to write what would happen if the plan of your character succeeded to lengthen your posts. I do that too after all.

As it stands – do not control my character. Unless agreed upon or for scenery changes aka moving from one place to another. For the sake of timeskips, scene skips, etc this is fine.

Relationships: 

Don’t just assume a certain relationship to my character. You can always ask me and I’m totally fine if your character knows mine, especially if you're Black – or Overwatch, just don't expect them to be official lovers, friends or family. Everything else? Is fine. I won't forbid you to have a purely visuals based crush on Feral, for example. He has one on a certain Blackwatch member too, so there's that.

Please don't be intimidated by me. I'm as scared of you, as you are of me – probably more even.

On writing

Selectivity:

I'd love to write with everyone but my anxious mind and horrible self-perception causes me to turtle and avoid reaching out. Even more so if a try for interaction ends in being ignored. So, if you want to write with me – are interested in Feral, by all means, come at me, send a meme, as random as it may be as long as it isn't romance or smut related I'll figure something out – and likely return to bother you later on. Still, all things combined I can be counted as semi-selective.

Universes/Alternative Universes/Crossovers

Given Feral is already – in one way or another – an AU version of my main RP character I'll limit interactions to the Overwatch universe and/or my AU verses listed under verses. If your character still works in these scenarios – as in for Overwatch a somewhat dystopian futuristic setting that I always feel hesitant to call Cyberpunk, you're more than welcome! Just please don't be upset if Feral might call your Robot character an Omnic.

More on verses

As it is now I operate on the following principle: Each version of Feral has one main verse. What this means? Everything that happens in the Blackwatch Era is in one Universe, everything that happens in the Recall universe is also one universe, and so on.

Duplicates

If I ever happen to get into the situation to RP with duplicates of canon characters, I'll break the former rule and set up multiple verses to the time era. I might then set up Mains though.

Activity

Hi, I'm slow and my mental health is giving me hell. Together with my other problems I tend to not get myself motivated to write, so when I say I'm slow, I mean I'm really, really slow. My sense of time is all kinds of fucked up and 90 days can feel like a week to me when it comes to writing. I'm sorry about that. I'm not disinterested, just fucked up.

From one line to paragraphs it really depends, on my mood, the alignment of the moon, how much something triggers Feral basically. Most of my writing is his thoughts because I like exploring those, so if you are one of those 'If I can't hear it anyways it doesn't belong into the RP' kinda people, you won't be happy here. You don't have to match my eventual wall of text anyways – as long as it feels like you put effort into it, that is.

Shipping with Feral?

Is easier than you might expect – and oh so much harder than it will seem. He crushes easily, if you're after bedding him? Just be nice and he'll offer himself up anyways just to make your character stay. Pursuing romance however is a completely different deal. Your muse will have to work for it. It takes time, understanding and care. At least for the Blackwatch version. And due to the timeline of the blog, he will have lost your character one way or another in the Recall verse. Which is likely rather unlovable.

As a general note? Shipping is only enabled for Blackwatch Feral but I won't deny you the fun of trying to get Recall Feral back if you managed to win over his younger version

multiple partners?!

Feral is polyamorous. So if you're fine with polyamorous ships? Great! He likely won't have a problem with it. If you are not. Your character will have to explain it to him. So unless that conversation has been held, all ships will be in the same verse! Unless with duplicates of course.

How to pursue a ship:

See if the characters work out, just let it flow. Be courageous. If your muse tries to make a move on Feral and he doesn't want to, he will let you know. While it's really nice that people come to me and ask “would ship xyz work?”, I kinda feel like it's betraying the character. I'd rather let Feral have the choice than me.

Other blabla:

Feral's opinions aren't mine. Seperate RP from real life – meaning, if he hates your character, we could still be good friends.

 “Lucifer, are you coming?” Sam shouted out of the kitchen window. Lucifer was chasing Raphael through the garden for almost an hour now and it was getting dark already.

 When the two brothers came back through the terrace door, laughing and dirty as pigs, Sam couldn't help but chuckle. He ruffled Raphael's hair and told him to go take a bath before bed, while Lucifer got himself a coffee and sat down at the kitchen table. Sam followed suit, smiling at the huge grin on the blond’s face.

 “He recovered pretty fast, didn't he?” Sam asked and Lucifer nodded.

 “He did, yeah. He couldn't wait to get out of the hospital,” Lucifer smiled. “I can't blame him, he's been there for far too long.”

 “And you? Ready for the big day tomorrow?”

 “Ready?” Lucifer laughed and took a big sip from his mug. “Nervous as hell doesn't even scratch it.”

 “It's gonna be okay, I know it,” Sam assured him. “You’ve gone through all the formalities, they've talked to you, everything else will come easy. It’s a good place for kids, they’ll see that too.”

 Lucifer smiled weakly, but Sam knew his nervousness wouldn't be gone that easily. Over the last two months they had spent every day working on the house with Bobby, Lucifer whenever he could during the week, as he still visited Raphael at the hospital, and Sam helping him out on the weekends and in the evening.. They had fixed the windows and staircase, cleaned the whole place thoroughly and painted every wall inside and out. Bobby even surprised them one day by revealing something he had built when they took a weekend off: a small playground in the yard, including a set of swings, a slide and a tower with various climbing opportunities. Sam and Lucifer had no idea he was working on something like that and were equally stunned and surprised.

 With Bobby's help they had turned the slowly decaying house into a nicely looking and comfortable place to live at. Each of them had their own bedroom, the other two were reserved for Lucifer's brothers. Bobby even helped them clean out the attic and install a new ladder, so they were able to use it for storage in the future. They didn't even have to pay any rent, Bobby's only condition was that they took good care of the house and that was something they gladly agreed on.

 And now, after countless of appointments with the CPS and the family Gabriel had lived with for the last months, Lucifer would finally be reunited with his youngest brother. Raphael was already living with them for two weeks now and enjoyed it greatly, but both brothers were equally excited to have the little one back soon. And, if he was honest, Sam was too. He had never seen Lucifer like this before, he could only imagine how it would be having both of his brothers with them. Of course things wouldn't be easy, but they would manage somehow.

 After Raphael's bath, Lucifer went upstairs to put his brother to bed and Sam decided to go sit on the terrace for a bit to enjoy the cool night air. He had to admit that he really liked this place. It was much bigger and more comfortable than his dorm room and Lucifer turned out to be quite a pleasant housemate. Even with Raphael around it was all very peaceful. Things would be more lively with Gabriel, of course, but Sam was sure he'd like the house too, especially the playground. The most important thing, however, was that the brothers were far, far away from their father and Lucifer was already taking the necessary steps to become his brothers legal guardian in a few months, when he’d turn twenty-one. Once this was done their old man wouldn't have any rights over them anymore, which Sam was very glad about.

 The door behind Sam opened and a moment later Lucifer joined him on the terrace by plopping into a chair next to him.

 “Already asleep?” Sam asked curious and handed Lucifer a Coke from the table.

 “He was out before I even tucked him in fully,” Lucifer chuckled and leaned back into his chair. “No wonder, he ran around like a headless chicken today.”

 “He has to catch up on a lot,” Sam sighed quietly. “But he can do that now. He can be a kid again.”

 “All thanks to you.”

 “Bullshit,” Sam huffed and waved his hand. “I'm not his brother who did so much for him, that's your accomplishment.”

 “But you saved his life and gave him.a new home…” Lucifer cleared his throat and looked up at Sam. “You gave      us     a new home.”

 “It’s the least I could do,” Sam smiled warmly. “You kinda grew on me, I can't help it, and so did Raphael. I'm glad you're away from this tyran now at least.”

 “I like it here,” Lucifer smiled and looked around into the night. “I know this isn't really what you wanted, or what I wanted for that matter, but it's not as bad as I thought.”

 “It’s not what I wanted, no, but it's not the worst thing either.”

 “What do you mean?” Lucifer gave Sam a confused look that made the brunet smile.

 “You know I hate this soulmate crap, I don't think that will ever change. But now that I know you as a person and not just my soulmate it's different, you know?”

 “Yeah, I feel the same way,” Lucifer nodded. “I like you, but for you and not because I have to. Of course I'm thankful for all you did for me and my brothers, but that's not why I like you either. It's kinda nice being your friend, I can't always show that, but it's true.”

 “Lucifer, you've got your head full, you can't always show things like that, I get it. And you're not a bad friend either, I enjoy being around you. Even if it's not the way it was for my parents, I like this. And, well, maybe it's better the way it is.”

 “You mean without the love and devotion and relationship hassle?” Lucifer smirked and Sam chuckled.

 “Yeah, without all that stuff,” he agreed. “I mean, if it would happen I wouldn't say 'hell no’ anymore, but for now it's good the way it is, don't you think?”

 “I wouldn't say that either, but you're right.” Lucifer emptied his Coke and stood up. “It's good like this now, if anything else happens or things change we’ll find a way to deal with it. But it’s getting late. What do you think, time for bed?”

 “Yeah, it's a big day tomorrow, we need sleep.” Sam followed Lucifer inside, smiling slightly. The blond was right. If things changed between them they'd find a way to deal with it. By now he had accepted that they were soulmates, maybe this was the first step, he didn't know. What he did know was that he had found a great friend and that was enough for the time being.

 Lucifer was even more nervous the next morning than the day before. He had changed his usual bad boy attire to something more casual and friendly and, like every time he dressed like that, it made him look like a completely different person. While they waited for the doorbell to ring, Lucifer kept fiddling with his hands to the point where Sam longed for them across the table so he'd hold still for a moment. He gave the other a knowing smile when he looked up.

 “Relax, it's gonna be okay,” Sam assured Lucifer again, brushing a thumb over the back if his hand. “You'll see, there's no need to be worried.”

 “Do you think he'll like it here?” Lucifer asked nervously. “What if he wants to stay with this other family because he likes it better there?”

 “Lucifer, you're his brother! He won't pick strangers over you, don't think that.”

 “I hope so,” Lucifer sighed and weakly returned Sam's hand squeeze. “And I hope he can forgive me for putting him through this in the first place…”

 “You didn't put him through anything, that was your so called dad, okay? You fought for your brothers and to get him back, I'm sure he knows that.”

 “As long as he's not scared of me or wants to leave again…” Lucifer grabbed Sam's hand tighter. “I don't think I could handle that.”

 “He won't, I don’t think so. Now cheer up a bit, they're coming any minute now and you don't wanna greet your little brother with a frowny face, right?”

 “Of course not,” Lucifer said and smiled weakly at Sam.

 A few minutes later the doorbell finally rang and Lucifer jumped off his chair, nearly knocking it over in the process. Sam followed him to the door quickly and laid a hand on his shoulder as Lucifer opened it.

 “Luci!” A high pitched voice echoed through the air as soon as the door was opened and not even a moment later the little boy Sam had seen sleeping in the hospital before jumped into Lucifer's arms with the biggest smile on his face. Sam glanced over at the woman still standing in the door and noticed the smile on her face. A good sign, he hoped.

 “Miss Barker?” Sam asked politely and held out a hand for her to take, which she did and nodded.

 “You must be Mister Winchester, I suppose?”

 “Sam is fine,” Sam smiled. “Please, come inside.”

 Miss Barker followed the invitation while Lucifer stood up, still hugging his little brother. Sam closed the door behind them and they all walked into the living room, where Sam had prepared coffee already.

 “Please, have a seat,” Sam gestured miss Barker to sit, then turned to the blond. “Lucifer? Are you coming?”

 Lucifer gave Sam a nod and looked back at his brother.

 “Hey Gabe, how about you go upstairs and look for Raphie? He told me he had a surprise waiting for you.”

 “Raphie is here? Yippie!” Gabriel threw his arms up and squealed in excitement.

 “You just go up the stairs, slowly, and knock on the first door you see, can you do that? But be careful, Raphie just came home from the hospital, so no fighting, okay?”

 “Okay, Luci!” Gabriel laughed and off he went to find his brother. Lucifer smiled after him for a moment before joining Sam and the CPS woman in the living room.

 “Gabriel was very excited to see you again,” Miss Barker said with a warm smile into Lucifer's direction. “He missed you a lot.”

 “I missed him too,” Lucifer replied quietly, listening to the voices coming from upstairs.

 “As you can see,” Sam continued to speak as no one else seemed to do it. “The house is rather big and Raphael is already living here with us. We also prepared a room for Gabriel upstairs and the garden has a playground that I'm sure he'll like.”

 “You have put a lot of effort into this house, but I'm sure you know it will take some time before Gabriel can live here permanently.”

 “How much time?” Lucifer asked and turned towards her. “We did everything we could, I even began going through the process to become their legal guardian once I turn twenty-one. What else do I have to do to get my brother back?”

 “Lucifer, I never said you wouldn't get him back,” Miss Barker said and gave the boy a stern look. “Your living situation is more than suitable, Gabriel wants to come back and from my point of view there is nothing speaking against it. But this is a legal process that takes time, I can't change that.”

 “How long will it take approximately?” Sam asked again, taking the words from Lucifer, who was visibly upset and on edge already.

 “Since everything speaks for Gabriel living here, it's going to take around five weeks until everything is settled.”

 “Five weeks?” Lucifer was shocked.

 “Don't worry, during those weeks Gabriel will visit you regularly to see how things go when you live together. The first two weeks he may stay for a few hours, under my supervision, the following two weeks it will be during the weekend without me and the last week he may stay here completely. If everything goes well he won't have to leave anymore after that.”

 Sam grabbed Lucifer's hand, who looked like he wanted to argue, and held him back this way. Much to his surprise, the blond stayed silent.

 “Thank you,” Sam said as calm as possible. “I'm very glad you're giving Lucifer this chance. After Raphael's health has improved and he worked so hard to make a new home for them, away from their father, we just hope that Gabriel can settle down here with his brothers and have his family back.”

 “Yeah…” Lucifer mumbled and looked at Sam for a long moment. “I really want nothing more than to have both of my brothers back and see them grow up happy.”

 “I don't think there's anything standing in the way of that,” Miss Barker smiled and Sam noticed the shimmer in her eyes. She was emotional, a big plus for Lucifer. “I'm sure your brothers will be very happy here, it's a wonderful home.”

 “Yes, yes it is,” Sam nodded and smiled back at her.

 ---------

 In the evening, after Gabriel and Miss Barker were long gone and Raphael went to bed - not without a heartfelt goodbye that actually made the CPS woman tear up - Sam and Lucifer sat in the living room to let the day run out. They had talked for a long time before and Lucifer had come to terms with having to wait a few more weeks until everything would be over, something Sam was very glad about.

 Now that tiredness began creeping in and he yawned behind his hand, Sam asked himself if this feeling of comfort he suddenly felt around Lucifer was due to the stressful day or just something he hadn't noticed before. It wasn't unpleasant at all, quite the opposite in fact. He actually liked it.

 “Thank you for your help today, Sam,” Lucifer suddenly said, ripping the other out of his thoughts. “I'm sure I would've screwed things up without you.”

 “I’m glad I could help, you know that,” Sam smiled. “Everything went well and I'm sure it'll stay this way. He'll be back with you soon, I know that.”

 “I hope so too,” Lucifer sighed. “I guess it's time to call it a day, I can barely keep my eyes open anymore.”

 “Me neither,” Sam agreed and suppressed another yawn as he got up. “It's late and it was a stressful day. Let's catch some sleep.”

 The two walked upstairs after turning off the lights. Lucifer checked on Raphael quickly, finding his brother asleep as he had expected, and closed the door with a smile. Sam watched him quietly, not even noticing the warm feeling in his chest.

 “Hey, Lucifer?”

 “Hm?”

 “You were great today,” Sam said. “I've never seen you so happy before. It was really nice.”

 “It's silly, but my brothers just make me happy.”

 “It's not silly,” Sam smiled and shook his head. “It's really cute actually.”

 Despite the dim light in the upstairs corridor, Sam saw the slight hint of red on Lucifer's face. It made the warmth spread to his stomach.

 “Thank you, Sam,” Lucifer eventually smiled back and, much to Sam's surprise, closed the distance between them instead of going into his own room.

 “Is something wrong?” Sam asked, slightly confused, and looked at the blond.

 “I don't think so,” Lucifer frowned, meeting Sam's gaze. “I just… would you mind if I… you know... ”

 “Not at all,” Sam smiled, using too now that he realized what the other was trying to ask for.

 When Lucifer leaned down and brushed his lips against Sam's, the warmth in the brunet’s stomach flared up immensely, as if a million flaming butterflies were flapping their wings. Sam closed his eyes slowly, just focusing on this new and utterly overwhelming sensation that seemed to spread into every cell of his body. He barely noticed that Lucifer laid a hand on his hip, all he could feel right now was this kiss and how dizzy and weak it made him feel.

 Despite all of Sam’s efforts to fight against being Lucifer’s soulmate from the moment they met, he had felt his walls crumble more and more with each passing day. He would have never expected things to take such a turn so soon, not even in his wildest dreams. When Lucifer pulled back after a very long and very nice minute, Sam couldn’t help but smile at him.

 “Changed your mind on not letting it get to you?” Sam asked sheepishly, to which Lucifer grinned.

 “Maybe a little,” he said. “If you don’t mind of course. I mean, we live together already, we’re friends… maybe it won’t be that bad.”

 “Yeah, maybe,” Sam sighed contently. “I think I can take a risk for once.”

 “I promise I won’t make you regret it,” Lucifer assured Sam and kissed him again - this one much deeper and not less thrilling as the first time.

 For the first time, Sam actually believed that being Lucifer’s soulmate might turn out to be a good thing. He was happy now, even if things were difficult sometimes, and he didn’t want to miss the other in his life anymore. And who knew, maybe they’d be able to make it work. Sam really hoped so at least.

Ok so I need to put in my two cents here because this is getting out of hand FAST! And honest to god this has been bugging the living shit out of me and i’ll feel better after I write this all down. 

I will not hide behind an anon message because I stand behind my beliefs and I politely invite everybody who does not agree or just plain hates to hate to have a frank honest and most importantly ADULT discussion with me! First of all I want to say IT’S JUST A SHIP. Come on you guys, ok we are on different ships but at the end of the day aren’t we all just enjoying the same show?! Call me a flower power hippie, but if we all could get along more maybe the show would have better ratings... And people wouldn’t stereotype fandoms to begin with whether they be The Vampire Diaries, The Originals or any other series you enjoy! That being said, I wholeheartedly disagree with the fact that Klaroline is a sick and abusive ship. Because ever since scene 1 between them we have seen Klaus’ humanity return piece by piece and is that not what a relationship should be! Bringing out the best in each other! The fact that you shouldn’t try and change your partner is ridiculous narrow minded and naive. A good relationship is where you are passionate about each other and strive to bring out the best in each other. Lord knows that for Caroline Klaus has showed humanity and compassion on more than one occasion. And in return it is because of him, she allows herself to let go of that ever lasting control she so holds on to. He teaches her to be passionate and carefree at times!  As for what happened with hate to actors , that is NEVER EVER cool. Not even in the slightest and those people are what gives not only Klaroline but SHIPPING IN GENERAL a bad name. We acknowledged that and we call people out on it. But to generalize an entire fandom based on a few bad apples is in exaggeration a form of discrimination and racism (I’m using this word because in it’s essence racism is discriminating or generalization of a group of people based on race, gender, sexual preference of BELIEF!) And honestly I can’t wait to get hate for that statement but I stand by it! It wasn’t cool what happened not at all i’m not denying that but I’m part of this fandom too and I refuse to take blame for something I had no part in, nor will I let my friends or shop be blamed for it!  I re-joined this fandom after a really difficult time in my personal life, because I needed a place for my creative outlet and somebody to talk to. Not only did I find that, I found myself a great group of friends along the way! People who are beautiful and intelligent and caring. People who look passed their noses and see that the world isn’t as black and white as some might make you think. People who have honestly saved my sanity during a very difficult time and they may not even realize it. So to generalize this fandom with foul name calling and childish hate is pubescent. I have yet to meet A SINGLE PERSON in this fandom who has been rude to me or others. If anything I was welcomed with open arms and more importantly open minds! Do we see eye to eye on everything? Absolutely not! Is that ok? ABSO-FUCKING-LUTELY! If people would just settle on having different opinion and respecting that finding ways to discuss matters in an adult way the world would be a much better place. And if this makes people happy who are you to tell them that it is wrong? If you view Klaroline as an abusive ship than you might as well view the whole series as abusive. Damon-Caroline? Rape! Stefan/Elena Mental Abuse.... Freya/Keelin Abduction and torture not to mention humiliation... Klaus/Camille Co-dependency issues. Vicky/Tyler ? I’m not even going to get into that one ... I could go on and on. At the end of the day the show has a certain target group, and this kind of drama is what appeals to that target group. Aside from maybe the Damon/Caroline story I view none of these ships as abuse. And even in that story line I respect the writers in the concept that this was needed for Caroline to grow into the person she was today. Do I agree with that particular storyline or concept. NO! Do I respect it! YES! Because that’s the viewpoint of another person and just because I don’t agree with it doesn’t make that other person any less of a human or unworthy of my respect!  Now if people say we are the only ship that is hating on others and name calling and all that shit i’d like to point out two things! ONE: We were not the ones who send and anon message to somebody telling her she deserved to be raped tortured and killed for her ship. WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT ABOUT?! That is so beyond wrong I can’t even... I just can’t! When that happens YES we respond as a community and we respond HARD. Not to defend our ship but to defend our FRIEND! It is a cheap shot and it is bullying and I will stand up to you for it! You don’t know this person in real life and for all you know this could be very upsetting for them in ways you and your small brain can’t even imagine. I have a tendency to NEVER EVER call people stupid. Insulting somebody’s intelligence is something I don’t believe in because everybody is smart in their own way! But if you go out talking shit like that i’m sorry i’ll break my rule you’re just plain dumb! Not to mention anti-feminist hell anti-human for that matter! I’ve gotten my share of hate mail/reviews over the past few months and honestly I could not give a crap. I don’t even respond to it because i’m a confident and secure stable person and It doesn’t bug me! But I also realize that on a social media as Tumblr there are alot of young boys and girls. Most of them are artists, writers, painters, gifmakers etc. All people with creative minds who are often burdened with enough insecurities as it is so the last thing they need is for you to add on to that!  Steph and I have never actually talked in person. But I follow her blog and I enjoy her posts thoroughly! I have heard nothing but kind and loving words about her from the people I have met here and she is the heart of this community. So if you think you can bully your way into our fandom and our hearts you are sadly mistaken because we can and will stand up to you! Each and every one of us is strong beautiful and capable of greatness if you let them be. I belief this with my entire heart and soul. Not just in this fandom but in all the others! So instead of sending all this hate why don’t you try and be understanding and be just plain nice to eachother. The world is already trying to drag us down. We shouldn’t do it to one another as well! she was the copresident of one of the clubs i’m in!! we got close really quickly because we discovered we had similar partying habits (lmao ooooooops)

i love going to museums!! i admittedly know very little about art (my ap art history teacher didn’t do shit for me but thanks for the 5 on my ap exam i guess) but i really enjoy impressionist art bc i’m basic like that i guess

8. What feature or quality do you get complimented on the most?

i get complimented on my eyeliner/eyebrows and my lips/teeth a lot! during the two-week recruitment process for one of the clubs i’m in, the executive board referred to me as good eyebrows girl since they didn’t have time to get to know everyone’s names yet :’’) i also get discounts at food places i frequent bc the employees compliment my makeup every time i go in and we become friends

9. What is the most romantic place you have ever visited?

uh i have an extreme aversion towards traditionally romantic things so whenever one of my boyfriends would try to take me somewhere really romantic i would immediately get the fuck out of there but i spent three summers in France and every weekend I would visit a different castle/garden in the region w my host family and like, with the right person i think it would probably be romantic

10. What would you define as ‘magical’?

literally everything :’’’) u got off work 5 minutes early? magical! u thought u had no more chocolate milk left but had enough for one more cup? magical! u saw two dogs today? magical!

11. What is the most expensive item of clothing you have ever bought and was it worth it?

i’m really cheap and generally i don’t buy expensive clothes? i tend to invest more in shoes and bags/wallets bc i see them as lasting investments so i’m usually willing to shell out more $$$ for them. the most i’ve spent on either is $80/$90 respectively and it was def worth it!

I am a fan of the age difference, too, and I do ship them together, if you rather want to write that. Give me all the fucked up femslash! Going on murderous rampages together, and having sex amid the slain corpses of their enemies, yes, that. Bedsharing because circumstances have them hiding out in the Siberian Tundra. Victoria dressing up Sarah and taking her as a trophy wife to diplomatic functions? Seducing Sarah so Victoria can rub their togetherness into Frank’s face. Taking people of guard, because the expected a toy boy, and not -- whatever Sarah is.

Gokusen (Manga)

How do I love this manga so much? I have no idea. I’m not even near high school age anymore, and yet the plot (and tbh, sometimes its ridiculous nature) always gets to me. I’d read more about any aspect of this canon, and if you want to bring in any other characters, and leave others out, feel entirely free to.

Post-canon would be great, but anything goes really. Focusing on just one character would be terrific. Having all of them would be great!

Kumiko has adventures with another class, or her minions! Does she continue with being a school teacher? Maybe she starts leading the Yakuza group, and still goes to school to teach her kids manners, and morals, and how to fight the system?

Shin goes to law school/Africa/some place, but gets lost on the way there! Will he come back to Yankumi? Will he eventually lead the Yakuza group?

Fujiyama Shizuka doesn’t get why she’s the one without the beautiful student toy-boy, and tries to find one herself, and instead falls in love with, idk, the new female teacher? one of Yankumi’s brothers? the new janitor? Or she watches and cackles a lot as Yankumi and Shin date, and then maybe found a Yakuza orphanage, and/or marry.

Kuroda Ryuuchiro and his quest for the rightful heir to his Yakuza group! How does he feel about his granddaughter running around with the police chief’s son — does that bother him more than the whole student thing? Does Shin really inherit the Kuroda family group? Does he become a Yakuza lawyer? Or does Yankumi make him stay away, or maybe Kuroda makes them stay away?

I ship Shin/Yankumi but gen is delightful also.

How does Shin convince Yankumi to have sex with him? Is he getting kidnapped left and right before they actually get together because all and sundry already think they’ve been doing each other for years?

If they are already in an established relationship, how does Shin deal with Yankumi’s students (especially when one of them develops a crush)?

I have no problems about depicting violence, or graphic criminal activities, but please keep the violence perpetrated by the nominated characters within the spirit of the manga? I like to root for morally ambiguous characters, but not if they are truly evil.

Roundtable Rival - Lindsey Stirling (Music Video)

I love this music video! It’s so silly and fun! It is here, if you want to watch it yourself, but basically, people are fighting each other with music instruments to a jaunty tune, set in the Wild Wild West.

Basically, fighting with music! Foiling dastardly plans! I want to read more about this! And anything goes, really. If you want to focus more on one character, or want to show this from an outside perspective, either would be great.

Lowkey, I’m really a fan of rival-dynamics, and love to ship enemies, so bringing a lovestory between Durango Black and the Violinist would make my day. Or if there’s a dynamic like "You are the only one allowed to catch me"? —Perfection

Maybe they know each other from before? Maybe there’s epic discussion about different ways to fight each other with music (I’d be into reading about that!).

Would also be into PWP where the Violinist dominates Durango Black. Some Bootlicking, maybe? Or creative uses of the music instruments. Or clothing porn!

Or case fic where The Violinist tours around the country, catching criminals; or just a glimpse into how music developed its own fighting style — or performing tricks like shooting an apple out of the air, just with music instruments!

Okay, I’m not even vaguely sorry. Here’s my confession: I ship all of these with each other, as pairs, or as threesome. I’d read them writing spite!fic, or rather spite!poetry, about each other, though! Or a zombie!AU, in which they are all stumbling incompetently around the dead suddenly among the living. Or maybe they turn out to be surprisingly competent at killing/evading zombies! (I’d expect nothing less from Percy Shelley who seduced people on graveyards, tbh)

Hey — at least they knew of each other! I am into the really very dysfunctional relationships with each other, here. Who is to say they wouldn’t have been very happy with each other in various constellations? Lord Byron seemed to have detested Keats — or at least thought his poetry as "mental masturbation" — I’d dig them in a rival relationship, that suddenly develops into a sexual relationship. Maybe even romantic? (Definitely romantic in the original sense)

And I can definitely see Lord Byron condescending down on Keats for his poor upbringing, without being aware that this is what he is doing, and Keats so not having that. And Percy Shelley with his continued efforts into giving all his money to charity while having the luxury to seduce women and traipse around the continent!

How about an AU in which Keats doesn’t die and joins Percy Shelley in Pisa (and for some reason Lord Byron is there, too — I will not read this for the historical accuracy, believe me)

Basically! Literature! Orgies! Seducing people in graveyards, and skinny-dipping in French rivers, that’s all I really want. I’m not saying no if you do decide to go down the historical accurate road, but I’ll also read all sorts of wild AUs.

Percy Shelley wrote an elegy about Keats, and said this when he invited him to Pisa: "I am aware indeed that I am nourishing a rival who will far surpass me and this is an additional motive & will be an added pleasure." Added pleasure? (He means fucking! says me) I am just very into rival relationships that turn sexual or more.

Look, I’m just here for Lord Byron and Percy Shelley seducing a reluctant Keats — and Keats maybe anchoring them a bit down to earth. Or various combinations.

I am not into the long-term effects of drug use and the suffering thereof, but if you want to mention it, that is totally fine. I wouldn’t want it glorified.

I am a fan of Miss Marple. I, too, have lived in a quiet town where you can see into the abysses of the human condition :D

I’d love to read something that lead her to the person we know her as, maybe when she went to the girl school in Switzerland? Maybe during her time in the cypher division, during the war — maybe the cypher division was really a cover for Miss Marple’s spy activities for the war office?

I’d also love fic about her as we know her: spending time in St. Mary Mead’s and solving crimes, quietly knitting her nephew another sweater. Holiday themed fic! Somebody keeps stealing the geese for the holiday celebrations!

Honestly, I’d also really like to read about her in a relationship, especially one that people wouldn’t expect of an elderly woman. Did she have a youthful indiscretion with the prime minister, and now that he is widowed, he visits her again, and Jane’s nephew is entirely shocked by the whole thing?

Was she maybe in love with a woman the whole time? Did she quietly retire into a cottage with her best friend, and they have a romantic relationship with each other?

(Or crossovers! It would be super interesting if Miss Marple knew a wizard from the Harry Potter universe, or maybe she’s a squib or a with herself? Or maybe she knows Phryne Fisher, or Lord Peter Wimsey!)

Island of the Aunts | Monster Mission - Eva Ibbotson

Characters: Dorothy (Island of the Aunts)

Look. This is one of my favourite books. I would read absolutely anything about every single character— I choose Dorothy, simply because she’s my most favourite, but if you want to write a story where she’s not the focus, I’d still be ecstatic.

That said, omg, Dorothy. I love her (and her wok!) and I would read countless stories on adventures she had while going off of the island in a rage to be angry at polluters, or hunters of endangered species, or both. I like that she seems to be the most competent in dealing with outsiders, even though usually she rather likes to resort to violence.

So! Pre-Canon, or Post-Canon, whatever; either would be great!

How is the work on the island? How is Dorothy dealing with her piranha farm? Maybe she decided to pursue some other, even stranger, protection against various and sundry? Does the Kraken return to the island?

How does Dorothy deal with the mermaids? Is she tolerant of their foibles, or is it a similar relationship to the one she has with her sister Betty, that is: polite bewilderment?

How does Dorothy feel to be suddenly the responsible one, who didn’t kidnap children and make them work with her? How’s her relationship with Etta, and does Dorothy milk it for all that it is worth?

Did Dorothy ever fall in love? Was it someone off the island, campaigning for more environmental protection? A mythical creature of her very own?

Who did she meet in prison? (Was Archie someone Dorothy pulled in?) How did she deal with prison in Hong-kong? Is Dorothy the reason there are now forest cities in China (— this is maybe a bit of a reach, since Hong Kong isn’t really mainland China and all, but I’d love if the Aunts have a bit of an influence on the world, even though Fabio is probably never going to be Brasilians prime minister. Though I would read a story about that.)

(Burning questions I have that aren’t relevant to Dorothy as a character: Is Herbert ever going to return? Is the younger Kraken?)
