Sun & Moon Throughout the Pizzaplex

I recently got ahold of Security Breach & played through it for the first time last night & was kind of obsessed with alot of the environmental details I was finding, specifically in relation to Sun & Moon.

I feel like in fic it’s always implied that the daycare is super closed off & there’s like no mention of the attendants anywhere else in the plex & that their merch is confined exclusively to their gift shop cause they’re sort of cringe or unpopular with older kids. HOWEVER their stupid little faces were basically everywhere I looked & I wanted to show both that and a couple of really cute unique props I found. I know there’s like basically no crossover between the sun & moon fandom and People Who Have Any Intention of Playing Security Breach so I wanted to just compile a bunch of the stuff they have around the Pizzaplex here for easy access by anyone who (understandably) doesn’t want to play the game. I’m putting under a readmore so I don’t clog the tag with a giant ass photo post but I think these things are cute as hell & some of them I’d literally never seen, in the tumblr fanbase OR in any of the playthrough’s I’ve watched through so take a peep if you wanna see Sun & Moon appreciation throughout the Pizzaplex.

First I just wanted to show that they’ve got multiple stands to themselves for merch in the main lobby gift shops ! Like as SOON as you enter the game proper you’re basically immediately hit with these guys;

And these cute little Sun shirts that are scattered throughout the plex giftshops;

These I think people are more likely to have seen but I still think the bathroom decals are so cute & I personally had only ever seen the Sun one in game footage so ! Here’s both;

Onto the more exciting stuff look at this ARCADE MACHINE !!! It’s looks like a regular clawgrab machine except it doesn’t have any prizes loaded into it, the design is so cute though;

Again I’m sure most people have seen this but I love Sun’s shit ‘BANNED >:(’ poster so much & it is ALL OVER kid’s cove;

This one is my absolute favourite I’ll be real, snooping around the backrooms of Roxy Raceway I found Sun & Moon themed go-karts and absolutely lost my mind;

At first I just found two tucked in a dirty corner and I was like ‘Welp guess homophobia strikes again’ BUT there were several of them scattered around with the other karts & several (^^^ in the pic) laid out ready to go on the track.

& just a couple other miscellaneous things, like this cute little logo I found in the backroom of the theatre that I don’t think I saw literally anywhere else;

& this tiny shit 3 pixel art of the boys on their section of the pizzaplex map lmao. I think they’re literally just in their poses from the daycare statue but it’s still a cute doodle;

There’s also these Moon faces up on the Faztheatre sign which I’d never seen before ! (Ignore me visibly wandering around taking screenshots of the environment when I’m supposed to be running for my life)

& lastly I just wanted to show these like, dedicated merch counters they seem to have in the prize counter room cause they’re cute as hell & Moon even has a collectible figurine on sale which. Canon confirmation of an adult nerd fanbase for the daycare animatronics in universe I guess;

It’s repeat textures so I won’t bother with pics but they’ve got posters and plushies and pictures literally ALL over the Pizzaplex it really sweet. Like they are not neglected in the plex marketing literally at all. I even found a Moon screen inside one of the arcade karaoke rooms for some reason. Bonus this note you can find made me heehee. Moon scaring the shit out of children like it’s his job;

Saw Topsy did this and it looked like fun so now Imma pester y'all with one.

1. How many works do you have on AO3?

35, currently, and only 1 is for a fandom other than The Lego Movie lmao

2. What’s your total AO3 word count?

496,195 over the course of 6 years

3. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?

1- Reboot To be honest, I'm kind of baffled by this one. I started it just when covid was really starting to take off, lost where I was going with it before I was even halfway through writing it because I got SO swamped with work that writing was taken off the stove entirely for a while, and a lot of it was honestly just half-assed to get it finished but so many people LOVE it. I don't think I'll ever stop scratching my head about it, but at this point I've just accepted that it's my most popular fic ever. 2- Atonement Still ongoing and without a clear ending in mind yet. I had 2 ideas I was wanting to play with when I started it- wingfic, and house arrest. I've been having fun with it so far. 3- Prizes, Plunder, and Adventure This one was actually written based on a friend's doodles & half-finished ideas. I took them & ran with them as far as I could lol. I'm honestly happy that this one's in my top 5. 4- Hot Spring Another one that I'm kind of baffled by. It's a oneshot that's barely over 400 words. People like their coppernauts fluff, I guess lol 5- Time Travel Troubles This one was based on a prompt a friend gave me when I complained that I wanted so badly to write but had 0 ideas, lol. Of all my oneshots, I'm glad this one made it into my top 5.

4. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

Most of the time! Sometimes I can't think of a response though, and once I got overwhelmed with like 25 comments on one fic in one night from the same person so my brain kind of short-circuited lol. I definitely read and cherish every single one though.

5. What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?

I don't really do angst tbh, so none of my fics really have angsty endings.

6. What’s the fic you’ve written with the happiest ending?

That's a tough one to pick, I always write happy endings. XD; I guess I'll go with Starting Over Again.

7. Do you write crossovers?

Sort of; honestly I think they'd qualify more as AUs than proper crossovers, but sometimes I just get bit by a bug to write all my favorite characters in some other media settings for shits & giggles. Murphy's Law (Skyrim), Space Shenanigans (Star Wars), The Stranger (Myst), Octan Nights (1001/Arabian Nights), and Hollow Heart (Beauty and the Beast)

8. Have you ever received hate on a fic?

Yeah, when I first started posting Murphy's Law on ff.net. Honestly it just made me laugh, it was so obviously some kid doing a shit job of being a troll.

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

I tried once. It was SO awful that I ended up deleting it and swore off ever trying again.

10. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Not to my knowledge.

11. Have you ever had a fic translated?

Nope. The fandom I'm in is pretty small so no one's bothered to translate any fics in it, at least as far as I know.

12. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

Oh, eons ago when I was still just a little baby birb. I wrote a pitiful attempt at an OoT fic with 2 of my cousins that never got far. All my works since have been solo.

13. What’s your all-time favorite ship?

14. What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?

Lord I have SO MANY. Think I'd pick Tech Support though (with a much better rewrite to boot, so no link for this one. If you want to read the atrocious original, you'll have to hunt it down yourself :P).

15. What are your writing strengths?

I'm told I'm pretty good with characterization. I'll choose to believe it. ;3

16. What are your writing weaknesses?

Describing literally anything. I am terrible for just... not doing it. Which is something I REALLY need to work on if I really want to reach my 300k goal with The Umiran Amulet.

17. What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?

There's only one language I can speak in any capacity, so I just stick with English. If it's something that's meant to be in another language, I just italicize it. Only every once in a blue moon will I use a word in another language, like if a character is swearing in their native tongue, and only if I'm absolutely 100% certain it's the right word.

18. What was the first fandom you wrote for?

Ocarina of Time. It was the fic I mentioned earlier that I wrote with my 2 cousins.

19. What’s a fandom/ship you haven’t written for yet but want to?

I don't really have any, at least at this time. I am very, VERY slow to move between fandoms & ships and am probably still going to be quite happily writing for TLM even when there's literally only 5 of us left lol.

20. What’s your favorite fic you’ve written?

I'd have to say The Atlantis Expedition, which was my first ever fic for the TLM fandom, and the first one I'd ever finished period. I have others that I love just as much, but this one will always have a special place in my heart.

1. How many works do you have on AO3?

twenty!

2. What’s your total AO3 word count?

76,628. it's kinda insane that i wrote 51k under just six months last year.

3. What fandoms do you write for?

currently only writing for f1, but i've published works for star wars, peaky blinders, the old guard and batman. on another account that has been liquidated many years ago i had footy rpf and teen wolf fics.

4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?

carry each other (hal jordan/bruce wayne), worked the blade (seb/mick), to the finnish line (seb/charles/kimi), spoils of war (seb/mick) and a favour returned (seb/lewis).

5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

i do, unless it only says "please write more of this", because i don't have anything polite to reply. but i love getting replies from authors too, so only fair to return the favor. there are definitely times when i just re-read a bunch of comments and they can really help to lift my mood or feel better about my writing.

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

lmao that would be the prince au break up sex fic, someday to say out loud. making george ask alex to tell him he loves him even if it isn't true and ensuring that he can't and won't believe him... partly why it's hard for me to go back to writing prince au is because it was very easy for me to project my unmedicated depression onto george, and (thank god) i'm not in that place anymore.

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

mmhh my star wars fic maybe? i'm not overly fond of happy endings, the best i deal out is a hopeful but kinda open ending. out of my f1 fic it's a favour returned, i guess -- there's some talk about longer term commitment and trying and failing to say that they like like each other, or consolation prize, where mick admits twice that he's been thinking about seb.

8. Do you get hate on fics?

not in the classical sense i guess or not that i've seen.

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

boy do i. i mostly write smut and use it as a catalyst to nudge a relationship to another level. i don't really get the what kind? question. what kinds are there? wholegrain?

10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?

haven't written one yet, but i've been toying with the idea of an f1 and the expendables crossover.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

if i had a nickel for every time someone pulled entire lines from a fic of mine and barely paraphrased them, i would have two nickels, which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice.

on my old ao3 account, yes! i haven't been approached on the new one and i don't think i'd give permission now.

prince au aka the myth of devotion with gabby @prettydangrotten. sorry to be sappy on main but galex truly one of the best things on the internet that's happened to me just for the friends i've made because of them :)))

14. What’s your all time favourite ship?

all time? propably stiles/derek or eames/arthur from inception. also it was sterek that first got me to tumblr, back in like 2012 or something.

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

ugh right now it feels like i'll never finish anything again. but i have a long star wars wip that's like 75% done but i haven't touched for three years. there's a roc sebmick fic i started and i actually know how it should go from start to finish, but i've been struggling with writing this year, so, i don't know.

16. What are your writing strengths?

i've been told the internal struggle/tension that narrator is facing is pretty tight and i do agree :) i also think the porn i write is nicely physical and pretty hot.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

longfic. like. i wish i could do it -- i had a 54k wip on my old ao3 account -- but i don't have the energy or the commitment. this is also why i struggle with WTB and SOW -- i want to write more to both but i feel like they are snappy and valuable as they are and i'm worried i'll ruin that if i add more.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

english isn't my first langauge so all dialogue is in another language in fic for me. i'm not super fond of adding another language on top pf that.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

teen wolf!

20. Favourite fic you’ve written?

spoils of war or prince au. prince au has probably the most of me and gabby is incredible and one of the best writers and kindest persons i know and i feel incredibly fortunate to have created something with her. spoils of war was a challenge on a lot of fronts but i'm proud of the storyline and it has some of the best lines i have ever written i think. and it got @antimonyandthyme and me very close :))

Hi!! As someone who's not a BA nor a VA (I'm one of the four people who have been shipping JV since day 1 so this is basically my fav season because I thought JV was the only ship that was never going to get any real content, lmao) I wanted to say that I really appreciate your blog and I'm loving the spoilers, especially for what they're doing to the BA fandom. You could think that as a non-shipper of any of the main couples I should be neutral, but the rise of the BA fandom is considered by many of us casual viewers/non-shippers the ruin of this show, at least in terms of overall enjoyability. Their behavior is what brought me out of the Riverdale fandom by the end of s5 (not entirely, of course the low quality of the overall content had a lot to do with it) 'cause for real, the general immaturity, the insults that I've seen towards VA shippers and the fantasy views on hints of how BA were clearly meant to be since s1 were too much. They are the reason I hated BA as a couple since the very beginning, I could have been neutral about the ship (especially because BA becoming canon made me raise my hopes for JV at the time) but they made the air so heavy at some point with their fanatic behavior that made me start to root for VA out of spite.

HOWEVER I got curious when I learned about the 50s and gave this season a shot and I have to admit, VA caught my interest more than it ever did before and I stumbled upon your blog, which was a pleasant surprise especially with the spoilers, so thank you very much for everything! Also you should get a medal or something like that for dealing for so much time with the BAs, I personally would've turned crazy a long time ago if I were in your place. Hope you'll have the best day!!

It's nice to finally encounter a JV who isn't set on diminishing VA in order to prop up their ship. I've witnessed too much this season. Although @andsmile is proof that you can enjoy both.

And I agree with everything you said. Fandoms in general can be frustrating but ever since s4, it became unbearable. Just downright nasty. But thankfully we've finally reached the end.

I'm glad you were able to enjoy VA this season and congratulations on finally getting content for your ship. I'll take a guess and say you've probably got more coming, so enjoy.

IN FAIRNESS my actual first encounter with bts was learning the dance to I Need U back in 2015 (my bones are turning to dust as I realize that was eight years ago. I am agèd.). I know a lot of their songs I just... didn't confidently know all of their names until stumbling onto lovesick lmao. I definitely know more about lovesick/abundance lore than I do bts though so y'all aren't really wrong lol *makes an angelicyoongie lightstick and starts chanting*

(continuing from the last one, still don't have a name) but also my favourites even before were yoongi and jimin (I even knew their names, thank you I'll accept my prize for my incredible accomplishment) so being like, "a c*p???? contemporary dance boy is a c*p?????" was a significantly harder pill to swallow than him being a catboy. Love a catboy. And you made them both catboys!!! What a time to be alive. Also now that I watched a couple of run btses (ty for the rec) they do all seem very sweet. Have you ever felt, looking at taekook content, they were jealous? I don't assume them to be jealous all the time one partner touches someone else but I feel there are some moments which are too obvious.

Lmao I mean we’ve all seen the perilla leaf debate right??

In fairness, I do think we sort of collectively, as a fandom, conflate the concepts of feeling possessive with being jealous. I think it’s pretty clear that whether they’re together or not, Taehyung and Jungkook are fairly possessive people. Even before the perilla leaf/shrimp peeling stuff came out (seriously I just find that whole thing so funny), they both make a lot of claiming gestures, toward each other but also toward other people they’re close to as well (although, I would argue, mostly toward each other), and they act with a lot of entitlement toward each other’s things: their bodies, their food, their prizes, their attention.

I don’t think we’ve seen any indication that this is to a harmful extent. They seem to both be into it, so if they are together, then power to them. As long as they’re not holding each other back, but just do it because they enjoy that element of their relationship, then I think it’s not doing any harm.

As for actual, legitimate jealousy, I do think there have been a handful of instances where we’ve seen it, or at least where we’ve seen what seems to be jealousy. Like you said, I seriously can’t imagine they feel jealous even a fraction of the time that some people say are “jealousy moments,” because that would be ridiculous. But, for example, the time Bogum came to one of their concerts, I think jealousy is the most logical reason for Jungkook to have been acting like such a little shit lmao (that or he has some other problem with Bogum that is related to Taehyung somehow). Or the time when they were onstage with a bunch of other idols and someone was talking to Jungkook and sort of got in between JK and Taehyung -- I mean, Taehyung looked pissed in an extremely charged way, I have a hard time seeing that as anything else.

I think a lot of what people see as jealousy is likely them reacting to their situation, how everyone else gets to be all over each other, as loving and affectionate as they want, while Taehyung and Jungkook have to be much more circumspect lest anyone get suspicious. That’s just a guess though.

Whatever they’ve got going, they seem to be really happy with it. I was talking to a real life friend earlier, someone who doesn’t ship at all in any capacity and whose biases are Hobi and Tae, and even she said that Jungkook has seemed especially happy and at peace to her lately, since Vegas. It made me really happy to hear that idea validated even by someone who sees things so differently than I do. (And it fits well with what I was talking about earlier, how to me, it seems like Taehyung and Jungkook both are really ready for these new moves and next steps.)

There's an underlying theme there that I think lines up well w/ DB as a whole ( earned skill vs inherent; at least, that feels like it was a theme earlier on lmao ) and its gratifying all on its own, too. I've thought about it on and off for a bit and saw this opportunity to gesture at it, I guess, hahaha Honeydew's neat ( + I absolutely look forward to finding out more about her- her relationship with Flint, their relationship with the red ribbon army / Commander Red, and did I see an AU where she's an underground fighter? that sounds tight af )

//YES, THAT IS ALL CORRECT!! As you and everyone I’ve spoken with know, I take great pride in tailoring their relationship as closely with canon as possible. Fanfiction works like mine aren’t perfect, but I do feel mine IS one that works faithfully with his characterization. I’m not sorry when I say this; but having Cell be super friendly and flirty with your OC (or other canon character) is just LAZY writing. I’ve ranted about this very subject countless times and tbh IT STILL needs drilling in. Call me a buzzkill or whatever, don’t care. I enjoy CellDew being brutal and unforgiving before it gets to the good stuff.

//Aaaanyway, as for Honeydew, I’m also satisfied with her growth from ordinary to extraordinary with discipline and practice. Humans are unanimously undervalued by the fandom unless they’re enhanced by android tech, so my aim was always to challenge the narrative by creating a human that could rival a saiyan’s strength. This series was built on the idea of shattering limits and transformations, so why not apply that with humanity? I certainly DON’T want to venture into sue territory by giving her too many perks, but I don’t want to restrict her either. Previously on BnHA: Kacchan was all, “Izuku, I’m sorry.” Bakugou Stans were all, “[sobs for a week straight and tearfully awards him the Nobel Prize for character development].” Deku was all, “[faints in Kacchan’s arms].” Iida was all, “[trying to decide if Ochako genuinely tried to kill him a few minutes ago].” Horikoshi was all, “NO TIME FOR HUGS WE MUST GET BACK TO UA.” The civilians holed up at U.A. were all, “WE TOOK A VOTE AND DECIDED THAT WE’RE ALL GOING TO BE JERKS ABOUT THIS AND MAKE A BIG FUSS ABOUT YOU LETTING DEKU BACK INTO THE SCHOOL.” Deku was all “[stands there looking like he expected nothing less and breaking my heart more and more with each passing moment].” Ochako was all, “that does it, looks like I’m gonna have to do something about this... next chapter, that is.”

Hmm, I guess I haven't done a pirate AU yet which is very weird because I have always had an obsession with pirate shit and usually write at least one short piece for whatever fandom I happen to be in. I guess I just haven't really had the inspiration yet. Other than that though, I think my Kiribaku works take top prize in Most Tropes I've Ever Written For A Single Pairing :,D 4. Oh gosh... I guess right now I'm working on, like, at least five or more things at once (which is why updates have been pretty slow lately). I'm working on some chapters for some older stuff but also trying to write some new things, and I have a deadline coming up for a Zine that I'm really excited for! Apart from the Fake-Dating piece, I've also been working on a Wedding Vows fic! It's short and full of fluff. It's my first time writing something wedding related, I think, and it kinda makes me uncomfy cause I don't like the idea of marriage in general but I thought the premise was cute and that people would enjoy it so I'm trying to finish that up :) 29. Ahhhh this is a really hard question and I literally don't have an answer! I even scoured through my bookmarks to try and find something but I loved the stories so much as they are that I couldn't even think about tainting them with my own words :,D Sorry, but I guess I'd have to say neither. Is tonight a full moon or something?? Because let me tell you - whew! Today’s gonna be one of those days that seem like I’ve made everything up, but I promise that it’s all true (or as true as it can be in this fandom).

We started last night with Harry joining Jim Carey in an SNL sketch - Carey was a stressed out mid-debate Biden who needed a moment to Calm down (lol) and Harry was, well, himself, reading his own Dream With Me Story in a soothing fashion. Can you BELIEVE that after ALL this time the true couple was Harry x Biden all along?? So sorry Obama, I know that it must be hard to go home and to be so lonely.

Liam is doing a new Hugo glasses campaign which looks: really good! Some posters have already been pasted all over London, so we now wait to see the reveal. And, he went live with Draco Malfoy himself, and confirmed that he will be doing a Halloween version of the LP show (tickets on sale now!) and Tom Felton will be opening the show. Um...WHAT??I know that I said the other day that I wished they WOULD perform together, but I didn’t think that it would ACTUALLY happen!!! Despite the (par for the course) tech issues, it was a cute, socially distanced live with Tom in LA and Liam in London. They even compared ships!! “Is there shipping in the 1D fandom”, Tom asked. Uh, yes, said Liam, “there’s ziams, larries, we got narries” (every larrie i’ve seen: “we’d like to be excluded from this narrative”). And Tom, in comparison, had “Darry and Drapple”, the latter of which is Draco and an apple (no, I don’t get this one either). In a passing moment, Tom said they should collaborate on a song, and Liam said, “For definite”. Look - if Liam takes fan requests (and he clearly does): can Liam be Harry and Tom be Draco for the Halloween show??? Pleeeaaaasssseee???

*Looks around* that’s it, right? Not quite! Yorkshire based magazine called This is Y ran an online competition which they were calling the “World Cup of Yorkshire” where fans could vote from their favorite Yorkshire based artist. Guess who won? Go on, guess! Yup, Louis, oBvIOusLy. The magazine then went on to say that fans might have “come for One Direction” (lmao) but they hoped fans also discovered a bit of Yorkshire along the way! Um, so. Yeah, go Louis! The runner up, a band called “Embrace”, said that they are DEVASTATED (hahaha) and thanked friends and family for the support. They also made sure to throw a link to their Patreon for exclusive content, and mentioned that both Harry and Louis are fans of theirs! I don’t doubt it, actually - it seems very on brand for them to support local artists!

I would also like to take this time to remind everyone know that NO, we still don’t know the Zaby’s name, and NO, Zayn didn’t pop up to inform us, he popped up to cheer for another UFC prize fighter, para variar! Look, the longer they take to tell us her name, the longer I’m gonna call her Liya in my head, just for laughs.

Meanwhile, yesterday Niall was finally reunited with his two loves: pubs and Lewis Capaldi.

1 - favorite fic i wrote - ohh this is a toughie for me. I feel like I improved a lot as a writer this year, and made a lot of good pieces! it's a tie between and they'd find us in a week (i'd be home with you) and talk until you bleed so i can patch you up.

2 - least fav i wrote this year - The Boys of Summer. Definitely. I don't like how blurry it is. Usually I have an idea, and I write the idea, and then the concept is cemented in my head as the thing that I wrote. But I was off the mark with this one, and so it's unfufilling to read for me. I actually have been meaning to rewrite it.

3 - fav line or scene i wrote - another hard one! I guess this means I was really proud of my work this year, which makes me happy. It's taken me so long to get here :) I have to go with this line, though, from not because he owns me/but because he really knows me: " "I'll come get you," he says, his voice sandpaper in its roughness, sandpaper for my mind, and for a split second it really does file all the splinters off, everywhere I could and have cut myself is smooth." I loved writing those OCD!Will Graham fics. I feel like it brought out the elegant side of my language.

11 - fandom i enjoyed writing for the most - ohhhh hmm. I mean. It's gotta be Two Guys, A Girl, and A Pizza Place, right? I just wrote so much for it lmao (20 fics for it total, 17 were written during 2021). I really do love Berg and Pete... they're left marks on my heart and soul. 🥺

14 - a fic i didn't expect to write - most of them! lol. That's kind of just how I write... I sit down and see what happens. But the most unexpected one was probably a thousand teeth (and yours among them). I didn't expect to watch Hannibal this year, since my mother has certain opinions on it that I didn't really believe I'd be brave enough to endure, and I certainly never thought my crippling fear of going to the dentist would allow me to keep all the details from my last visit in my mind and use that to write fanfiction. I'm glad I did, though!

28 - longest fic I read - okay trekking through my AO3 history... I'm surprised at just how much I read this year! Honestly very proud of this! I think the prize goes to If I Was Your Girlfriend by birdkeeperlink (speculating), a truly spectacular work of fiction that made me so happy to read. It clocks in at 73, 512 words!

Honorable mention to Your Friendly Neighborhood Deadpool by Nimohtar, which is 42, 830 words long.... but I have a very distinct memory of reading it! I read it in one sitting, over about 4 hours, in the early hours of the morning. I literally didn't sleep that night, and it kind of sparked a realization for me that something was more wrong than I thought with my mental health lol. It's also an amazing fic that I highly recommend to anyone who enjoys spideypool.

29 - shortest fic i read - lmao... this honor goes to a reylo fic by treezie. I'll bet most of you guys are familiar with it, but if you're not I encourage you to check it out. It has. uh. 12 words. Total.

Why has Kniroun been such a bloodbath? I’ve admittedly also been participating in said bloodbath, but I don’t really understand why the event was so anticipated?

Ahah, the biggest reason is just that, Itaru is the most popular character in the game, hands down, and everyone wants a piece of him. Really. That’s it.

Into the Night, where Itaru was also the SSR, was also suuuper hard (tho i didn’t participate there, i was in Denial about how much i cared and just grabbed the Azuma SR lmao) but it’s to consider too that there are significantly more players now than there were when Into the Night was on.

Or the Cheer event. The Cheer event was the other bloodbath event (and rightfully so since the prizes were “get a token to chose a SSR/SR/R from a previous event from this list”) and i dug back my screenshots the other day and it’s not nearly as bad as kniroun is being. Really. So i blame 100% the fact that there are far more players now. probably because of the anime? man the game used to be niche lmao.

on top of that, it’s a play event. play events are even bigger events in general because they are the ones with major character’s arc, either backstory exposition or development. Itaru is popular but he’s also extremely popular because a lot of things about him are relatable, so the fact the plot is as it is makes people more engaged to rank up.

And, because of the fact we have people who played the JPN server/read the stories, we have vague ideas of some plotlines (or downright know them) which gives us more reasons to push for them. + we have the song, people love the song, so people want to see it again.

And because of this anticipation and knowing Itaru was coming, i know a looooot of people took it very easy on previous events to be ready to grind for kniroun, so a lot of people have more energy or diamonds for the bloodbath in general than others previous seasonal events.

(oh right and the fact Winter isn’t nearly as popular helps too because people don’t rank up or invest in their events nearly as much, and they’re before spring in general. Hell just now since Valentine’s day we had a lot of Winter SSR rank up - Hisoka’s valentine, Tsumugi’s White Days, Tasuku’s Camp Leader, Homare’s wedding... springled with either not that popular in En server (Masumi’s camp card) or Summer cards people are chill about (Muku’s camp card and Tenma’s wedding SSR). Summer is super popular but i think people like the group dynamic more than they’re shooting for one character in particular when an event is on, and if an individual, i wouldn’t put Muku or Tenma on top of the popular list.)(i mean i can and wish to be wrong because they are on my top and i worked hard for them but well. They’re not at Misumi’s level that’s for certain.)

On that note, i’d bet that it’d be necessary to stay on the look out when Juza’s lead play will come along. Juza has systematically broken the servers so far and i think he’s one of the chara with the biggest popularity in the EN server.

(Misumi would have been one of my guess too but so far his events have gone smoothly. he has a very dedicated fanbase but i don’t think they amount the number Itaru has. Then again, there’s been a looot more players since his events. I’m not really taking his lead play into account bc of that (it was easy to rank up for, but it was sooo early on) but more his Christmas SSR since it was more recent, but yeah)

Autumn in general has more frenzie and they’re super competitive (really fitting for the troupe itself ahah) so there IS that to take into account, but they’ve been consistant about it.

As far as Spring goes, even if there is a dedicated fanbase for some of those characters like Tsuzuru, people have been more lowkey about the full troupe. Itaru is the one with the biggest fanbase out of there even from people who prefers other troupes. If some player dedicated themselves to some troupes in particular (i used to dedicate myself to Summer and Winter and now i’m just suffering) they still make an exception for Itaru.

so yeah long post but it’s really that popularity is a super important element to take into account when it comes to a3. I know personally i avoided some events (i legit didn’t even work for Clockwork after unlocking the story and i’m still mad about that lmao but i had a burn out and seeing people rank up made me go no p e) because i knew it’d be too much work just popularitywise. The amount of new player makes it all more bloodbath-y

If you don’t want the popularity answer, i’d say it’s also just that people like the plot of the play itself. It’s pretty neat and i know there was anticipation for some events also for the plot of their plays (though not at the same extend, re: Clockwork Heart & Nocturnality). So there’s that.

But yeah for a gacha with those mechanisms you want to be on the lookout for popularity, and personally i tend to pay attention to see which characters are popular or not. So i have a lot of thoughts about how the popularity works in the fandom lmao

take care and try to go easy on yourself for the ranking. Last day!

2. What is your total AO3 word count? 205105... what. Well. That sure is a lot of words???

3. How many fandoms have you written for and what are they? On AO3, I have written for ten fandoms, but if you’re going for total (that I can remember)... eighteen? Maybe?

4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos? now i’m covered in the colours, what I think is my most popular fic, a soulmate au from the very early days of the foxhole court fandom; the bittersweet between my teeth, another foxhole court au!; throw me that smile, a small fluffy foxhole court fic, also from the very early days of the fandom (hence the kudos? I assume?); and spin him to the ground, aka my tog jn sex pollen fuck or die au, which is a lot of Words put together when you describe it like that; and In All Its Forms, which is a series of short tywin/sansa (you are reading that correctly) fic in different aus that i wrote and posted in 2014, yes it’s weird, yes i regret it, whatever.

5. Do you respond to comments, why or why not? I try to respond to comments! But in general I only manage it in the first few days after a fic is posted, because after that I go ages without opening ao3 on laptop where I do the replying, and, well. Then I get overwhelmed [hides]

6. What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending? I don’t really like angsty endings? Happy endings all the way!!! I prefer my suffering to be... in the middle, or in the beginning. Just not in the end. But I guess if you think of marriages are made in heaven, which is the first part to a very long fic, and ends on a bad note... maybe that’s the one!

7. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve ever written? The craziest one I’ve ever written would be a Justin Bieber x Doctor Who AU. The craziest one I’ve ever posted, ASOIAF x Doctor Who... lmao

8. Have you ever received hate on a fic? A couple of times! I think the worst one was a couple of years ago, when someone decided to leave me a long, dedicated comment about why my fic, which had one a little prize for the posting website’s challenge, sucked, actually.

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind? I do! I don’t know what kind I’d call it...? Uh, smut...like... smut? Kind of improbable smut? Idk, sometimes the fic just vibes that way.

10. Have you ever had a fic stolen? I really hope not lmaooo

11. Have you ever co-written a fic before? I have not! But I’d love to do it someday, which like, hint hint to anyone. @nicolodigenovas you brought it up not me :eyes
