According to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), since 2001 in the United States, Muslims are the 2nd most targeted group in anti-religious hate crimes. The latest report by the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) stated that in 2021 CAIR received 6,720 civil rights complaints from American Muslims, which was a 9% increase compared to 2020. The complaints include immigration and travel-related issues, workplace discrimination, denial of public accommodations, hate and bias incidents (for example, forcible removal of hijabs, harassment, vandalism, physical assault), among others; the report revealed that there was a 28% increase in hate and bias incidents.
CAIR National Executive Director Nihad Awad mentioned that, “in 2021, CAIR received its highest ever number of civil rights complaints. This is an alarming sign that Islamophobia is persistent and systemic in society and government policy. While we recognize that we’ve made progress as a society in terms of addressing social injustices, our report shows that Islamophobia continues to pose the biggest threat American Muslims are facing.”
On the International Day Commemorating the Victims of Acts of Violence Based on Religion or Belief, be sure to learn actionable ways how to counter Islamophobia from the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), Interfaith Alliance, Islamic Human Rights Commission (IHRC), Muslim Advocates, and Tell MAMA (Measuring Anti-Muslim Attacks).

“The lists found by maia and shared with journalists and researchers confirm the TSA’s (1) Islamophobia, (2) overconfidence in the certainty of its pre-crime predictions, and (3) mission creep.”

i very much do not care for the way peta did “investigative journalism” to “expose” the “evil” “truth” about halal and kosher slaughter.
Especially because some European countries are outlawing both.
This isn’t new, and I’m far from the first one to point it out, but it is absolutely something people need to continue to pay attention to. It’s absolutely being done to attack and dismantle core elements of Jewish and Islamic culture, and it’s being done to sway the Christian public into seeing Jews and Muslims as evil animal torturing savages.
This is an attempt at ethnocide. Enforced assimilation or prosecution. And I will further caution that ethnocide rarely travels without its partner, Genocide.
Don’t let this narrative spread. Learn what these practices entail and why. It is done to minimize discomfort to the animal. While it looks messy to some, it causes very little pain to the animal and death is swift. It follows very specific protocols for a reason. It is forbidden to eat food that was slaughtered poorly and suffered unnecessary pain or fear. If I were raising livestock for human consumption, I would use a similar method to cull simply because a brain can react differently to a stun gun but a throat will tend to react the same to a blade every time.
A practice not looking aesthetic enough for evangelical sensibilities does not mean it’s cruel. People naturally fear the unknown and this is very transparently being weaponized against marginalized groups

i was actually scared to post this, so if you have anything hateful to say, please do not interact with this post. thank you!
let's talk about mahsa amini.
so i'm sure you've all heard the name recently: she's been in the news a lot, because she was an iranian woman who died.
let's ask google how she died, shall we?
Tumblr media
hm.
i'm going to have to disagree with you there, state authorities of iran.
mahsa amini was 22 years old. on the 13th of september, she travelled to tehran to visit her family with her brother, kiaresh amini. she was at the entrance of the hiqqani highway when she was arrested.
but why was she arrested? was she speeding on hiqqani highway or something?
oh no, of course not! it was because she was wearing her hijab "inappropriately".
she was told she'd be taken to a detention centre for a "briefing class" and released shortly afterwards, except she never made it. instead she was at kasra hospital - where she died on friday, febuary 16th.
she was in a coma for three days.
in an instagram post which has now been deleted, the hospital admitted she was brain dead on arrival.
"Resuscitation was performed on the patient, the heartbeat returned and the patient was admitted to the intensive care unit," they originally wrote, reports The Guardian. "Unfortunately, after 48 hours on Friday, the patient suffered a cardiac arrest again, due to brain death. Despite the efforts of the medical team, they failed to revive her and the patient died." - Harper's Bazaar
the "guidance patrol" who was supposed to be taking her to a detention centre, beat her.
the iranian police commander, hossein rahimi, claims that amini's death was simply an "unfortunate accident."
here's what amini's dad had to say.
“They said Mahsa had heart disease and epilepsy but as the father who raised her for 22 years, I say loudly that Mahsa did not have any illness. She was in perfect health. The person who hit my daughter should be put on trial in a public court, not a fake trial that results in reprimands and expulsions."
and all of this, such a brutal death covered up with attempted lies because of what?
a hijab.
iran has made the hijab mandatory since 1976.
and clearly, women who don't follow end up like amini.
i am a hijabi teenager, living far, far away of iran, and i think that's disgustingly wrong.
i wear a hijab for my lord. it was my decision.
wearing a hijab is for Allah. it's not for men. it's not for police.
and you, as a man, have no right to tell a woman how to wear her hijab.
you think Allah is pleased with you? for forcing these women to wear hijab? for killing them if you don't?
personally, i highly doubt it.
to any man who has forced a woman to wear a hijab, punishing her for not wearing it correctly, you are disgusting. you terrify me and disgust me and you are the reason people see islam as a terrorist religion.
and to think that in france, women are fighting to wear the hijab.
for god's sake, just let women wear what they want.
please.

A message to anyone who thinks you should not support Biden because of his support for Israel:
Biden has consistently supported a Palestinian state (the two state solution). Trump and the Republicans have not.
Biden does not support a ban on Palestinians/Muslims entering the US. Trump and Republicans do.
And no, no third party candidate is going to be elected- and most of them are in the pocket of far Right money anyway (Cornell West got money from Harlan Crow, RFK Jr. is a Steve Bannon sock puppet, Jill Stein's closeness to the Kremlin is well-documented, and No Labels is basically the Centrist corporate suits party).

Believe it or not, but coffee was proclaimed prohibited and sinful in 16th-century Mecca. Unthinkable for coffee lovers around the world, this tale of a caffeine crackdown reveals the fascinating history of this beloved beverage.

The way a lot of white liberals treat poc voters is just so tiring. The weaponizing of our existence for political points is gross
“ what has that candidate even done for black people?”
“The other guy wants to ban Muslims lol ”
As if poc / marginalized groups aren’t well aware no one gives a shit about us. On Election Day we suck it up and vote for the choice we can morally live with

Quote
Muslim women students experienced the hijab ban as a denial of their autonomy and agency. As the PUCL team listened to the Muslim girls’ stories close up and large, what became clear was that for them, the hijab is a visible carrier of their self-identity and a way of remaking their own world by freely negotiating with their culture’s normative values and practices. However, they have also had to struggle with their teachers’ negative assumption that they are unaware of being oppressed by their own faith and by a community that does not value education for women. Journalists and political leaders repeatedly asked, “Are they coming to college for studying or for their religion? Let them go to their madrasas if they want to prioritise the hijab.” In insisting simultaneously on their right to education as well as the right to wear the hijab, they are confronting the dominant discourse on the hijab that has obstructed their educational possibilities that have in recent years opened up in Karnataka. In doing so, they are invoking an alternative discourse of gender justice. In this respect, their struggle is at one with the rallying cry ‘Jin, Jiyan, Azadi’ (Women, Life, Freedom) of Iranian women who are protesting the custodial killing of Mahsa Amini, a young woman, by the notorious Iranian ‘morality police’ for wearing her hijab ‘too loosely.’ The slogan ‘Jin, Jiyan, Azadi’ originates in the Kurdish resistance movement in Turkey and reflects similar struggles of women for complete autonomy and liberation. As Apoorvanand and Alishan Jafri argued, ‘Though the contexts of the protests in Iran and India are different, women in both countries are making the same statement. They are telling the state that they want to live their lives as free, thinking individuals – not as dull identical clones. In both cases, it is a battle between individuals and the state for ownership of the self.’

I can't stop laughing at the unbelievable naivety and spectacular stupidity of 'liberal' USians (why does 'liberal' mean leftist in the US?) being surprised pikachu that a muslim-majority city that has a muslim mayor turns out to be anti-homosexuals.
No way. Who could have predicted such a thing. Also the same city council allowed backyard animal sacrifice last year, "shocking some non-muslim residents".
Shocking non-muslim residents? Fucking lol. You voted for your city to be turned into an Islamic shitbox. Enjoy.
I guess the shocked non-muslim residents look like this?

Just kidding. White western women are very enthusiastic when it comes to sucking muslim cock. If sharia law was implemented, these two would definitely cheer and applaud.
