So these sets of wallpapers are inspired by this song https://youtu.be/kLl9hP6qZ7s from the OST of The Nightmare Before Christmas game 'Oogie Boogies Revenge'. It's got a very fun soundtrack, and a thought it would have been fun to put this with other Disney villains and Heros.

I don't really like how these look, if I'm honest. Though I couldn't figure out how to get them to look better. Though maybe I'm just criticizing myself too much? What do you guys think?

Pete clicked a lot of pictures of Vegas. At first, Vegas would frown and give him looks of disapproval but after years and years of candid pictures and ugly selfies on social media, on lock screen wallpapers, framed on bedroom walls, and on Christmas cards, Vegas now gave up and went with it.

Among the thousands of pictures Pete had of Vegas, one, in particular, was his favorite.

It was taken on a Saturday noon on an old phone with poor camera resolution. Pete had found his old phone in one of the drawers and busied himself trying to charge it and turn it on. Vegas had looked at him with amusement for a few moments before picking up his book and heading to the balcony. Pete had followed him and when Vegas sat down to read he had claimed his usual spot by laying his head on Vegas' thigh. It was their unsaid routine.

Vegas led a very scheduled life. He ate in time, slept in time, he even brushed for exactly two minutes. Pete, on the other hand, had embraced the chaos after leaving his job at the Major Family and lived his life as he saw fit. How Vegas loved him as he did, Pete had no clue.

After hours of coaxing, the phone finally turned on with a familiar ringtone. Pete was excited to see what was left in it, but much to his disappointment the old memory card had been damaged and wasn't displaying anything it had. Vegas was submerged in his book while running the fingers of his left hand through Pete's hair. It was an unconscious act of his every time Pete had his head on his lap.

Pete pouted and put the phone down only to pick it up a moment after. He opened the camera app and rolled onto the floor positioning the phone at Vegas' profile. Vegas glanced at Pete once then looked back at his book. Pete hit 'capture'.

That was it. One picture.

Pete reclaimed his position on Vegas' lap and opened the gallery to look at his newest shot. As soon as the picture was displayed on the screen Pete felt like all the air had left his lungs. It was a black and white filtered picture of Vegas in his simple white shirt reading his book. His glasses, which he didn't wear anywhere but at home, hid his eyes. He looked calm. He looked... okay. Pete felt a lump rising in his throat at that word.

Okay.

Pete never thought he would see Vegas like this. All his life this man had been through so much. Almost everyone he loved was taken from him. His father never spoke a word of encouragement to him. He had to take care of his younger brother when he still had growing up to do himself. He was picked on, used, correct, punished, hit, and belittled all his life. He hurt so many people. He hurt himself so much. He was so lost.

Pete remembered the first couple of months after Vegas' father had died. Vegas would have nightmares. He would cry in his sleep, thrash around, and hold Pete for dear life until waking up shaking. It was so difficult for him to just survive a day. Pete felt like he was failing, but he stuck around because of his love for this man. He loved all the dark and twisted parts of him. He loved all the sharp edges of Vegas threatening to cut through his flesh. He would embrace them and feel them dig into his flesh. He would thrive in that pain until it became pleasure. Then he would relish in it.

And didn't Vegas love him back? Oh, he did. Every time their eyes met, Pete would know it in his bones that this man saw no one but him in a room full of people. Pete knew if he asked, this man would bring the world down to his feet. Pete knew the extent this man would go for him. The ferocity of the love this man felt for Pete made him scared and delighted at the same time. He felt drunk in power. He didn't understand what he had done to be loved like this but he wasn't complaining.

Pete sighed to himself and sniffed. He didn't realize that he was crying. He wiped his eyes quickly before Vegas would spot him and start asking questions he couldn't answer.

Every time Vegas asked Pete why he had chosen this low-resolution picture as his screen lock amongst the abundance of other good-quality ones, Pete would just smile and shake his head in a manner that said, "You wouldn't understand."
