Okay, since I’m tagged on this tumblr account I’ll first go with WINX of course.

1. Driven (Darcy x Riven - Winx Club)

I’ll say it over and over again – they’re perfect. THE POTENTIAL: OMG: If Rainbow had be braver and didn’t focus SO much on Bloom, they could’ve added such an angsty storyline. They build the grounding but never made it to detail and that’s a shame. I may repeat myself, but Darcy was the first one to listen to Riven. To really listen and maybe even the first person after a long time to actually care for him. Of course, she is beautiful and she used that beauty to enchant him but what mattered in the end was that Riven finally found someone who was really interested in him. Someone who saw his ambition and talent. Someone who didn’t see the sparkly outside of perfect Sky and Brandon but who saw this man, who I bet went trough a lot to achieve the right to study at Red Fountain. Finally, someone interested in the one who trained hard to be where was and who wasn’t privileged like other people. Another thing I love about them is the trust and faith Riven had in Darcy who.. in the end destroyed that YES THANKS RAINBOW.  I mean, he never questioned her even though he knew that the Trix’ plans were evil. He did not care about that. Only for her. The betrayal must have been hard. But what about Darcy? How did she feel? Well, we never saw it but regarding her character she might be an overthinker who thinks everything through, who is afraid to show her true self. Darcy seems to be the one who is afraid of losing control and of being betrayed herself. So better destroy than get destroyed? I’m sure she opened up to Riven to some extend and got caught by her own fear of losing control and then overreacted. Maybe. Who know. But the thing is that their end came completely out of the nowhere and I wished the writers had focused a bit more on that instrad of making a cut so that another fairy had a love interest by the end of season 1. It also should have been more focus on their relationship in the following seasons. (I miss the longing stares omg. We could have so much angsty drama!) I think the end of the relationship was not easy for both of them. Darcy lost everything at the end of season 1 and I’m sure she questioned herself a lot after it. Like, what would have happened if etc. And Riven, even more broken than before. What did he think? It’s no secret, that most characters in this show need therapy but these two? Couple therapy maybe lol (now this was long, but that’s when I talk about ships haha)

2. Brella (Brandon and Stella - Winx Club)

I don’t really talk about the fairies here, but I love Brella. They are such a healthy and dynamic couple. Even as a kid I noticed how harmonic and devoted. I loved, that they got so much attention in the show and that they were the harmonic couple and not Sky and Bloom. They had the storyline in s1 I which Brandon disguised as Prince Sky and lied to her. He was afraid, that Stella would only like him as a prince. And yes, Stella might look superficial at first glance but in fact she is not. And I think she showed a lot of strength in forgiving Brandon who lied to her for a long time. She made no big deal of it even though she is a princess who could have easily married or dated a prince. But she chose Brandon. Then there is the Downland arc at the beginning of season 2 and it wouldn’t have worked with another couple. As I said, they are devoted to each other. Stella fkn jumped after him into that abyss without a second thought? Luckily they survived but then Amentia shows up and Stella almost dies because there is no sunlight in Downland. So to save her life, Brandon agrees to marry Amentia who then agrees to let Stella go. I could fangirl over this arc a lot but I won’t because it already gets too long here. Then s3 in which Stella thinks that it might be just her beauty which Brandon loves (which doesn’t make sense after what they went through) but I think the problem Stella has, is that she was always judged by her looks. She was raised to be a perfect princess and let’s face it, before she met Bloom and the Winx, she had no real friends. However back to the show, Brandon knew that Stella was transformed into that Monster but he did not care. Of course not. He was trying to help her no matter what, just to see her happy again. I won’t focus on the later seasons, because they might still have their cute moments there but after all there was too much beef going on between all the couples and I don’t consider these superficial seasons as canon so I’ll stop here. But Brella is chef’s kiss. The best Winx couple followed by Tecna and Timmy and no one can convince me otherwise.

3. Ethel Hallow x Nick Hobbes - Weirdsister College (Do they have a shipping name?)

Since it was rosie, who tagged me I think I have to take a ship which has nothing to do with Winx but which goes more in the direction of Harry Potter and The Worst Witch. And that is an easy one: Ethel Hallow x Nick Hobbes. OMG the potential, the POTENTIAL! Same as driven, they have so much unused potential even though they were on the best way to build an angsty couple with trust issues and all the drama my fangirl heart needs. I love how Nick noticed right away, that Ethel resembled him. She always played the nice and hardworking students but we all know that she was a devious bitch who used every opportunity to make Mildred look bad. And from her perspective, she did nothing wrong. It was always Mildred who stole the show by breaking the rules and being at school but was in the end the good girl who was appreciated. She always played by the rules (yeah not always but she tried her best) and was ambitious and just wanted to be the number one student, yet who interfered? Always Mildred. It’s no wonder she tried everything to get rid of her. Ethel just wanted a happy school life without interruptions. So she wasn’t innocent at all and Nick knew that. In the first episode of Weirdsister College, he immediately checked that he AND Ethel would not have a chance of passing the all-seeing-eye. He tricked Mildred so that she helped him and used that for him and Ethel to pass the ceremony. He’s the typical bad boy who took advantage of Mildred’s talent and gosh, I wished they hadn’t followed this weird storyline he has with Mildred. Because everything was already there with Ehtel: Both students who tried their best to become the top of the class, both power-driven and both unsure in the end. They have so much in common. And Ethel is, after all, the good girl who fell for the bad boy and she KNOWS that he’s doubtful. She does not trust him but is still fascinated by him. And I just love that trope, okay? Ehtel also gives me hardcore rl Darcy vibes and not, it’s not just because they have the same voice actress I Germany. They’re the dark edgy couple I live for. There could have been done so much if they gave us a second season…..It looked like they were giving up on the Mildred/Nick storyline by episode 9 which was again one big flirt of Ethel and Nick. (The potential!) This is why I hate the way they went on the last episode where it’s like “It’s only you who can save him, Mildred” bullshit. I’m doomed for loving couples the writers seem to hate. I could write an essay about them and I probably will on @yaviae somewhen.

About Severus's Friendship With The Malfoys...:

Would Snape still be friends with them had he lived after the Second Wizarding War? I'm trying to do a fic series where Snape is (magically) brought back to life and reunites with Constance Hardbroom (of the 1998 "Worst Witch") and their long-lost son, Nick Hobbes (of "Weirdsister College") in 2006. Snape and Hardbroom would remarry and have a daughter, Morrigan, in 2009.

With this in mind, how would Constance and Nick view the Malfoys. Constance does think highly of the rich, judging by the Hallows. Yet, it's doubtful that she wouldn't be very thrilled with Lucius or Narcissa (ESPECIALLY when hearing about Cedric Diggory and Charity Burbage). Though I'm not sure how she'd feel about Draco, Astoria and Scorpius. So it's uncertain on whether of not Constance would let Nick or Morrigan anywhere near such a family. No matter how much Severus would try to defend them. Not to mention, Constance would've probably put some blame on Lucius for Severus getting in with the Death-Eaters in the first place.

What also wouldn't help was that, (in my fics), the Rowling Wizards and the Murphy Wizards are of different magical "breeds". The Rowling Wizards are known as the eccentric, powerful and progressive "Imperiums" (or "Barmies") while the Murphy Wizards are the traditional, limited, Muggle-like "Ex-Codices" (or "Killjoys" or even "Faux-blood"). If anything Lucius (and maybe Narcissa) wouldn't think to highly of the "Faux-blood" Constance. The Malfoys would even look down on the wealthy Hallows for it too.

Then there's Nick; knowing him, I doubt he'd be so anamored (if that's the right word) with any of the Malfoys. He didn't even care much for the rich girl, Ethel Hallow. Not even asking her if she can use her wealth/connections to help with his endeavors. With Draco being Ethel's male counterpart, Nick would be annoyed with him, if not more. Then again, since this is post-"Deathly Hallows", Draco would've mellowed out a bit (especially with Astoria and their son). So, maybe Nick would, at least try to get along with Draco and maybe Narcissa. As for Lucius, I can't help but see Nick punch him after an insult too far about Constance, his Ex-Codice upbringing or his friends. Either way, Arthur Weasley would be proud.

Still, what are your thoughts? Would Severus still try to reconcile with the Malfoys? Would Constance and/or Nick stop him? Or would Severus only stay in touch with Draco and Astoria? Would there still be some emotional distance?

My post op appointment went well! The incisions have closed well and are looking healthy. My nipple grafts are attached and have blood flow. Unfortunately the mirror wasn’t at wheelchair height so I didn’t get a proper look but my surgeon showed me on my phone which wasn’t quite as good of a look but I could see enough to know that it looks really good.

After I got my dressings off my surgeon put micropore over my long incision scar (my incisions meet in the centre of my chest to make one long scar) and I got square dressings for my nipple grafts. Because I use a chest harness in my wheelchair I’ll have to keep dressings over my nipples until all the scabs have fallen away which could be a couple of months off. (Usually the dressings only need to stay on for about 24 hours)

My surgeon was really good with all his recommendations. He fully explained his reasons for each and let me know what the consequences might be if I didn’t follow each one: which ones were cosmetic, about avoiding infection, speeding up healing etc. He also told me which recommendations were based on research and which were based on more anecdotal evidence. He gave me the information to make my own decisions in a way that wasn’t rushed, patronising or performative.

We talked for quite a bit about my post op binder. I was really hoping he’d just say I didn’t need to wear it any more but there’s still a bit of fluid under the skin on one side and he felt I needed to wear it 12 hrs a day for another two weeks.

I was concerned because I’ve had some skin breakdown because of it already and was worried about that becoming worse/ infected (because the binder is gross and has to be washed by hand at a low temperature and my skin is delicate).

He was really good at neutrally explaining how the compression vest works and what would happen if I didn’t wear it (potential for further fluid build up and my skin becoming stretched) He also let me know if I chose to wear it that I could wear it over my pyjama t shirt to protect my skin without affecting how well it works.

In the end I’m following his advice but he was probably the best doctor I’ve met at describing the reasons behind a recommendation without putting on unnecessary pressure to blindly follow it.

Overall he’s been a fantastic surgeon who is clearly very skilled in the operating theatre as well as being absolutely amazing at listening and explaining things and making me feel comfortable as well. I’ve had too many bad experiences to ever trust any doctor again, but I completely trust him which I never thought could happen.

For anyone wondering I had surgery on the NHS with the Manchester team and my surgeon was Nick Hobbs. Although you don’t get to chose which member of the team does your surgery, I would recommend the whole team – they have clearly worked very hard to get amazing technique and create the best culture I’ve ever found from a group of doctors. The only downside is the NHS waiting times (I don’t think any of them have a private practice).

I love your art style so much!! I've never seen anyone else that draws like you do. Were there any inspirations for it?

It's a great question when it takes me all day to gather pictures for it and I have to stop myself before I exeed the image limit on tumblr.

So to make this easier for myself, I focused primarily on media related to TV and the Internet (because you all know what videogames I like and the major animation studios are a whole seperate list onto itself)

But in summary on that end: these studios raised me

My earliest inspirations came from my grandma reading Calvin and Hobbes comic books to me, my parents allowing me to play Humongus Entertainment games on our PC (Putt-Putt, Pajama Sam, and Freddi Fish), and the beginning of preschool shows on Disney and Nickelodeon, primarily Blue's Clues and Rollie Pollie Ollie.

I just happened to grow up in the era where all 3 major networks for kids content were starting to hit their strides in making their own original content, so a lot of the cartoons I watched between 1999 - 2010 were in the 90s UPA revival style, championed through the art of Craig McCracken, Gennedy Tartakovsky, and Stephen Silver. (I will say though that Cartoon Network was my personal favorite).

With an honorary mention to WB Animation back when they had their own Saturday block:

Then came the introduction to mainstream anime in the west around 2006ish:

And as an adult from 2013 onward, I appreciated the old MTV cancelled shows, adult animation from Adult Swim, and a couple of animated shows from the post-live actiom era of Cartoon Network

'What the fuck is that?'

'What does it look like?' said River. 'It's a baby.'

'No-no-no-no-'

Duffy was fast but Hobbs was faster, blocking his boss from exiting while simultaneously swinging Spider outside and depositing him neatly on the top step.

'Don't do this to me, there's a game on for fuck's sake!'

'Then bring the rest of your boys round here,' said River, breezing past. 'I know they've been dying to have a good snoop.'

'She's had a bottle and a nappy change, all you have to do is keep her entertained for a bit until we get back,' Hobbs followed his partners out the door and left Duffy standing in the middle of the hall, metaphorically clutching his pearls and staring at the babbling, gummy blob in the rocker.

They heard the congratulatory cheering halfway up the street.

River, hyper-aware of neighbors, had initially refused Hobbs' pleas to purchase the obnoxiously loud speaker system. Hobbs had gently persuaded River, and Spider, at the same time, several times in a row, to let him have the thing and now it sat pride of place in the living room, directly under the TV.

Spider unlocked the front door to a wall of sound. The Dogs were gathered around the set, shouting and eating snacks while football players ran back and forth onscreen kicking a ball. Duffy was perched above them in an armchair with the baby in his lap; she was wearing noise cancelling headphones and a miniature team jersey.

'-you send in two teams; one round the front to cover the kitchen and laundry, and one round the front to cover the downstairs and upstairs-'

'Are you teaching her about clearing safe houses?' Hobbs bellowed over the din.

'Got to start them off early. Here,' Duffy scooped up the baby and dumped her into Hobbs' arms. 'I'm off for a piss. Don't sit in my chair.'

'This is our house!' River said, but Duffy was already gone.

Ways AEW can repackage Wardlow

I don't have to tell you how much they fucked up Wardlow. What should have been an easy thing, the Batista treatment, but Tony Khan doesn't like booking his big guys strong and won't commit to Wardlow. When he got white hot, Tony did everything to cool him down because he wasn't in his plans and ultimately he didn't know what to do and Wardlow ultimately suffered. AEW inexplicably screwed up a sure thing with the most baffling booking I have ever seen. It was so insane that part of me wouldn't be surprised to learn it was due to sabotage. They did everything you aren't supposed to do with a new star.

Here are ways I would repackage Wardlow

Actually treat him like a big deal. Wardlow should have been AEW's Batista, AEW's Goldberg and AEW's Brock Lesnar. It should be so fucking simple, but 3X BOOKER OF THE YEAR couldn't book a big man competently to save his fucking life

Consistent booking that doesn’t veer off the path or decides to do something that sends him back seven steps

Recreate the Scott Norton/Ice Train tag team with him and Hobbs and let them run the tag division for a year

Have Ricky Starks manage him. Why make Starks manage Big Bill? What can Starks do to make him a big deal? If anything Starks and Wardlow could be big money.

Give him the millennium man Sid repackaging & just have him cut cryptic nonsense promos while racking up a ridiculous number of 25sec squash wins

If the Undisputed Era reunites to cost MJF a title and Adam is the one to ultimately put the knife in MJF's back. Wardlow comes to the rescue and they build up to the slowburn of MJF slowly but surely gaining Wardlow's trust and this time MJF and Wardlow are equals as opposed to Wardlow being under MJF's employment.

Keep Arn as His Manager, Turn Him Heel, and Book Him Like a Fucking Beast. IT'S NOT THAT FUCKING HARD TONY!!!!

Put Wardlow in a Match With Masato Tanaka and Have Them Beat The Shit Out of Each Other Like Tanaka and Awesome Did in ECW

Stop booking him like Goldberg and have a bunch of dull squash matches. Wardlow can actually go, so just put him in the ring with the girth of talent on the AEW roster and let him do work. Face, heel, doesn't matter, that's how you get over in that company.

Dynamite and Collision back-to-back end with Wardlow running in during/after the main events and fucking annihilating everyone in sight. No words, no promos, just powerbombs to top guys

When CMFTR v The Elite is going full-steam, and Hangman, Kenny, and The Bucks have the numbers game 4 on 3, Wardlow is the man to even the odds. CMFTWar.

Have him show up with War Pigs one day and just murder a top heel

Hire someone who knows how to book pro wrestling. Tony Khan is fucking awful at it.

Retire Goldberg at All In/All Out by destroying Goldberg and getting that Brock Lesnar style push.

Let him go to WWE, it's evidently clear Tony Khan doesn't know or like to book him or giants at all.
