anyway my point is: you mentioned a gender clinic referral in a tag and i'm a trans man also in the uk with a lot of experience in that area so i thought this might help in some way 👌🏼

if you've gone through the nhs, the wait times are astronomical (the shortest one is about 15 months, the longest around 62 months). the current legal limit on nhs referrals is a matter of weeks so it's literally criminal but that's another story lmao

if you go on the 'transgenderuk' subreddit there's a pinned post with current wait times and there's a wealth of information and people happy to help with anything from name changes to 3 stage surgery. also the nhs are notorious for just. not referring people to their gender clinics so if you did go through them it may make sense to give them a ring and check they did their job!

if you went through a private gender clinic and haven't heard back in months, 1000% follow up. the longest reply time i've heard is a month or two and the longest appointment wait i've seen is 7 months

lastly: there is another route. it's a lot more popular for transfems to do it, given feminising hormones are legal here but masculinising ones aren't, but transmascs (myself included) can 'diy' hormones, if hormones are the transition route you're after. even after i checked with like... tons and tons of people and different resources i was still terrified but it does work! also i get if a stranger on tumblr dot com doesn't reassure you, but i wanted to let you know about the option because it honestly saved my life and i think more transmascs need to know about this as a route especially those in this hell country lolol

for more info i would recommend the diy hrt wiki, just google that term and it should come up. i should mention though, with this though you're probably going to have to inject yourself which i know isn't for everyone (i used to need to have someone on facetime with me for like 45 minutes hyping me up lol). there is gel available on some sites but it's super expensive. also some sites will have tablets for sale but they don't work to masculinise unfortunately. OH and it's also recommended that you do blood tests semi regularly (once or twice a year) to test sex hormones and some other things like your liver, which you'll probably have to pay for yourself if you diy - in saying this though, the cost of 6 private blood tests, and 3 years worth of T and injection equipment would cost about the same as the initial appointments you need with the more reliable of the 2 private gender clinics. something something seize the means of transition

anyway. this is an absolutely insanely long message and i'm so so sorry if this is too much and too like... invasive but whats the point of having trans resources if you dont share them and whats the point of having a trans community if you dont trans commune 😎🏳️‍⚧️

I obviously didn't watch the new James Somerton apology video ON his channel because I did not want to give that man the views and you shouldn't either! It has been re-uploaded and summarised elsewhere so that he doesn't benefit if anyone wants to see it.

The original hbomberguy video was wild to me because of all the stealing, I found it highly entertaining, loved all the Memes and it honestly did my imposter syndrome wonders! but then I watched the Todd in the shadows video and it really upset me.

He didn't just steal from other LGBT creators he lied to his mostly young LGBT audiance who were looking to an elder gay for guidance and to learn about their history.

Todd's video starts with a clip of James lies being spread by another person on a podcast, there's clips of people discussing his made up gay nazi fanfic he has presented as hard facts. He actively harmed his own community for cash! There are young gay men bringing that subject up in conversation being laughed at for falling for it and that leaves a really bad taste in my mouth.

Now I'm not a part of that community but a lot of people I love are so that angered me a lot.

...and then he comes back with another apology video, conveniently within the three months he would have had to post something on his channel to retain his monetisation status weirdly?! In which he blames both a head injury and his ADHD for his theft - at no point does he address the lying in either apology video or any of the apology posts he made that I could find.

I have combined ADHD, when I was first diagnosed the NHS referred to it as ADD with Hyperactivity element but everyone seems to have gone back to calling it ADHD and that is the term used most commonly online so that is what I refer to it is as.

I am medicated but there has been a world wide shortage of my medication and I was without it for some time over winter, which was HELL! I got nothing done.

I am in no way a big creator, Youtube for me is a fun wee hobby that will hopefully grow and allow me to collaborate with other people with similar interests but ADHD is for sure a large part of my journey as a creator.

I've published like 7 videos and currently have around 10 being worked on because, you know... ADHD! *siren noises*

I know that I am forgetful sometimes, just for the record I also had several head injuries and concussions as a child because Lil undiagnosed at the time me truly had no fear of climbing or other dangerous activities so I have my script (because free talking a subject with this brain would be nearly impossible) open in one google doc and my research open in another. It's not hard.

That's the way it was at school, college and Uni too. James claims he went to Uni to do business. Every university uses anti-plagerism software for essays and has done since like the mid 2000's? so he knows not to copy pasta. He's straight up lying there.

Another thing he's lying about is his ADHD making him forget he copied things. Now if you tell me a joke that I like it'll stick in my head and I will straight up tell it as my own later, I've been called out for this many times! But entire articles? whole sections of other peoples videos? (he also flipped a fan Vid he had ripped off of another YouTube to avoid detection and tried to pass it off as his own) No that's not something you can accidentally do even with a swiss cheese brain like mine.

Weirdly all the the paragraphs James claims he accidentally copied were also edited to remove aspects of the Trans, Bi and Ace experiences that James markedly does not believe exist. Strange considering he accidentally copied them and assumed they were his own words? Imagine going back through a paragraph you think you wrote yesterday in the edit the next day and finding swarths of things you don't agree with there?!

Why am I telling you all this? Well because I wanted to put my two cents in as a creator with this condition, partly because I felt it was somewhat of an attack on us!? He's put it out there that ADHD creators are liable to steal from others and that's not ok by me. Also I just really like the sound of my own typing!

TL;DR : James Sommerton is a suck ass liar and he doesn't get to use his disability as an excuse for what he did! and...

Good question! I think Huaisang would mostly stick to photography because that's his art, though Xuanyu might make some phone recordings, especially of anything particularly creepy-looking. I imagine the public at large would probably think the vids were just Backrooms-style well-made movies, but Mingjue and Huaisang are from old-family ghost hunters, so he'd know the real thing when someone forwarded him the links.

He also knows about the abandoned building stuff... sort of. Huaisang's probably told him about some of the assorted places that he's been called to in order to remove critters. Whether or not he knows about the hobby aspect, I'm not sure yet. Either way, how much he'd chew out Huaisang mostly depends on how much danger was recorded.

So like, the cultivation world needs yiling laozu's help and they tried to summon him using mo xuanyu but they failed since yl lz appeared in his own original body and not in mxy. Anyway so history repeats itself, wwx knows everybody especially lan zhan cuz he his "friend" that time. They became curious about wwx, they found his journal and he kept talking about this certain friend eventually they found out the friend's name is lan zhan lan wangji. Time skip they found out that lwj reincarnated, he looks exactly the same as wwx's friend. Lxc said it was impossible cuz all their ancestors died because of an explosion that was caused by wwx bavk in the day.

There is this spefic scene, wwx kept blaming himself because he was the reasom why lz died, ok so lz married a woman (arranged marriage) and had child with her, wy was heartbroken and told lz that he has feelings for him, lz also has feelings for him, so when lz heard that the sects will have a siege in burial mounds he went there and protected wy then something happened and the surroundings explode.

Anyway, they have come to a conclusion that wy is an immortal, he took care of lz's child, lz reincarnated he fought really hard to keep his body and appearance the same

I binged All Of The Yiling Wei Sect AUs recently and they all kind of blurred together in my brain, so I THINK all of this happens in the same fic but I could be wrong and if I am I'm so, so sorry. In the fic Wei Wuxian very briefly worked with the talisman scammer to sell actual Yiling Laozu talismans for a decent penny, then one of the Wen uncles convinced him they should set up their own stall. They made talisman paper out of the burial mounds bamboo and it was red. There was a scene when the Wen went on trial and Wen Ning was able to speak to the people in the room, proving that he's cognizant and not a mindless puppet. WWX didn’t immediately tell LWJ about the pregnancy out of fear that it won’t push through or something. Some people were alive (like Wen Qing who secretly did WWX’s checkup and told him about the pregnancy) but not JYL. WWX also stopped drinking wine and started eating healthier to ensure the baby’s growth? Which kinda made LWJ suspicious? There was also a part where WWX visited JC in Lotus Pier, and JC was able to guess at WWX’s pregnancy and they had a really nice conversation and reconciliation. I’m sorry if some of these details might have been from other mpreg fics that I unknowingly confused with the one I’m looking for, but I hope the others are accurate enough to help! Good morning! I hope you slept well and feel rested? Currently sitting at my desk, in my study, attired only in my blue towelling robe, enjoying my first cuppa of the day. Happy Hump Day!

Apologies that I was unable to do a live version of Too Much Information Tuesday. I have to be out the door early on a Tuesday morning; class starts at 9.30. The new term was a bit of a shock to my system, not helped by more rain and some more of that wicked wind whistling around my trouser legs! Thankfully, I had two classes full of high-quality students. This is the test, isn’t it? Survive this weather and spring is your reward. Leave home in the dark, come home in the dark. Depressing! Thank goodness I have a great weekend ahead of me; alongside my brothers Shaquille Darren, Joe Cox and Patrick Steele, I am playing music at a private, birthday party on Saturday. Yes, the birthday girl does have friends in high places!

Sadly, 2023 has begun as 2022 ended: the winter of discontent continues. Health secretary Steve Barclay didn’t want to talk about pay rises but said that doctors and nurses should “increase their productivity”. No one wants to negotiate with the RMT. Probably because they know Mick Lynch is smarter than them! Fishy Ballsack wants to outlaw strikes. Camilla The Home-Wrecker is trying to destroy another family; consorting with misogynists such as Clarkson and Morgan. Shops, restaurants and bars are going out of business, house prices are coming down. Ooh, I wonder why? Highest taxation for 70 years, national debt over £2 trillion, public services in ruin, 22,000 NHS beds & 140 A&E Hospitals axed, infrastructure crumbling, poverty skyrocketing. How depressed does the UK need to become? At what point will someone realise that consumer confidence is in the toilet? At what point will somebody realise that The Specials wrote a song about this 40 years ago? Many parts of the UK are like a ghost town.

During Tr*mp’s presidency, at all the celebratory rallies, he wheeled out these two vociferous black women called Diamond & Silk. Probably to try and convince black people that he wasn’t racist? (Really, Donny??) These two would stand on stage and all of Donny’s followers would cringe, because they hate black people as much as Donny. They spent a huge amount of time telling everyone that C*vid-19 was a “hoax” and preaching a strong, anti-v*x message. Anyway, Diamond (Lynette Hardaway) passed away yesterday. Cause of death: C*vid-19.

And now that it's the end of December, I'm crossposting all my recs here in one big long list. It's all mxtx fic, mostly mdzs and svsss but a bit of tgcf, and of a wide variety of tones and ships. for #DecRecs I'm going to be going through my bookmarks from when I first started reading fic for mxtx fandoms, and rec a fic for each month I've been in the fandom(s)! We'll start day 1 with the first untamed fic I ever read: "and they were roommates..." by harriet_vane. It's a modern au, rule 63 femslash wangxian. Moving to a fic I read in Sept 2020, "Call and Response" by x_los is from lxc's pov about his relationship with his parents and his brother, and his parents' relationship with each other, and how lxc sees those reflected in both himself and lwj. I love the premise of the au of "I feel like I win when I lose" by so_shhy, which turns cultivation into a sports drama - but cultivation can still be real, and dangerous, and not just a game! "best friends forever" by varnes is a super adorable next-gen fic about jin ling and lan jingyi getting engaged for political reasons. "Gathered Herbs & Sweet Grasses" by hansbekhart is about Lan Sizhui and his experience of being parented by Lan Wangji, and does an incredible job of evoking a tone and mood, and the quiet delicate complexities of emotions. For #DecRecs day 10, a modern au about wangxian as larpers! "Mud and Canvas" by StormsBreadth. I loved how much this fic is a love-letter to larping, how clearly the author knows and understands the hobby intimately and shares that with the reader, and I also loved seeing how things were translated from canon in terms of what was IC and what was OC for the folks in this story/in their larp. So today I'm reccing "SV Wishes" by Feynite, the fic that started it all for me - an epic length au where the novel that Shen Yuan transmigrates into is a gay harem drama. It's so much fun! #DecRecs day 12. Just one month later, May 2021, I read my first tgcf fic. It took me a while to get into tgcf, but I was possessed by beefleaf since this moment regardless! I just reread "like a siren that can't swim anymore" by LuckyDiceKirby, now with canon knowledge, and I am dying, I am murdered, I love it so much. 5 times they almost kiss and 1 time they do! For #DecRecs day 13, only a little late, here's "Advanced Self-Saving" by kitschlet! An svsss bingqiu fic, where where sqq dies and goes back to the modern world, and lbh gets there to join him the long way. I am endlessly delighted by sqq's ability to not recognize his own feelings, and it is perfectly done in this fic! And for #DecRecs day 14, let's return to the untamed for more about Nie Huaisang having emotionally complicated relationships with men whose lives he ruthlessly alters, because I will read about EVERY possibility here! Today's is "跟天书一样 / Gēn Tiānshū Yíyàng / Like Heavenly Script" by monsteraa and it's gen (with a frisson of sexual tension, for flavour) in which Lan Xichen and Nie Huaisang talk post-canon about their unresolved issues with each other. It's #DecRecs day 15, and I have a svsss fic to recommend, this one moshang! It's "Save Point" by Neery. I love amnesia fic and this one is such fun: a post-canon, happily married sqh loses his transmigration memories and is stuck trying to interpret what's going on when the tour guide to his new life is man-of-few-words mbj. It's an absolutely delightful read, and you can see how hard mbj is trying, even as sqh assumes the worst possible interpretation of everything! https://archiveofourown.org/works/33495178

#DecRecs day 16! Today' s "Why Paradise Defer" by violettressed, an untamed fic from Lan Sizhui's perspective about wangxian, with wwx travelling in the summers and returning to Gusu in the winters - then one winter, wwx isn't back when expected. A lovely look at a mature, well-negotiated relationship, and also at Sizhui and the other juniors and their relationship with each other and the adults in their lives. For #DecRecs day 17, a svsss fic that's difficult to describe! It's a post-canon fic about cumplane being basically soulmates, even as moshang and bingqiu are each very happy together. It's kind of... weirdly wistful and lovely, and both sad and happy at the same time, and also a comedy? It's basically magic. "the heart's reasons seen clearly" by Lirazel is a gorgeous look at a Jiang Yanli/Wen Qing au where Jiang Yanli goes with her brothers to Nightless City and ends up a patient of Wen Qing. It's about chronic pain, about hard choices, about being an eldest sibling, and about what it means to be a good person. "the act of just being here" by Euphorion is an svsss bingqiu fic where sqq is forced into the realization that the plot is over and he lives in a normal world with real actualized people around him, including both himself and binghe. and then has to handle this idea through the means of sexy roleplay because he can't actually admit to himself that he can be a person with wants and desires and for that to be okay; it's both very funny and very tender! https://archiveofourown.org/works/36003646

#DecRecs day 20, and tiiiiiime for another fic about nhs having complicated relationships with men whose life he irreparably alters! "I am not there; I do not sleep" by lianhua_lianzi is about wwx and nhs going to mxy's hometown for the Ghost Festival to mourn him, and end up talking to each other about mxy, and about choices made. "friends from the same hometown" is a fic by kitschlet wherein the svsss version of Ning Yingying gets caught in a wifeplot with Luo Binghe and they have to be Honest about their feelings for each other! Which means talking about the complexities that have hindered their being able to be friends after lbh's return from the abyss. #DecRecs day 22! "Say So" by FeelsForBreakfast is a wangxian fic where wwx gets hit by a curse where he has to have sex or die! A good classic trope. I love getting outside pov's on characters I like, and it's so fun how this is from lqr's pov AND wwx's pov at the same time, because lqr is experiencing wwx's life! #DecRecs day 26! "blue night" by fruitys is a modern au wangxian fic, and the author says in one of the fic tags that "the Softness is the plot actually" and like YEAH actually! I love seeing their interactions in this, how fully both of them are their insufferable (complimentary) selves, and everything about the fic is delightful. What do you think of the new op? have you played him yet?

No, I haven't. To be totally honest, I haven't played Siege since the Rengoku event (well, I lie, I did try the new MUTE Protocol and got upset about how it was now another generic shooty arcade mode instead of the event I remembered and enjoyed ;-;). So whenever I go back to playing, idk if I’ll unlock him. From the teasers and youtube vids I’ve seen, his play style doesn’t really call to me that much 🤷

The reasons I haven't played Siege in such a long time is mainly Extraction. That game is much more enjoyable to me, since PvE coop games (with a true solo option, we love to see it!!) are more my speed. Even if I wanted to play Siege, I don't currently have anyone to play with and I refuse to put myself through the torture that is solo queueing. I’d be more willing to do that if the battlepass interested me (aka, cosmetics for my fave ops instead of a NH season), but alas that's not the case.

Although, if Doktor's Curse returns for Halloween (and they don't change it completely like they did with MUTE Protocol ¬¬) I will be playing that one for sure, it's my favorite event!

Birth giver accused me of having 'emotional clinging disorder' or whatever bc I told her that the fact I'm like 90% sure I don't feel guilt and that the only things I feel are GOOD, BAD and FEAR after starting the argument bc her [50-60~ yr old] friends were """literally shaking""" after I walked away from them at a party. The same woman who doesn't understand why I don't eat anything she makes anymore after seeing her lack of concern at leaving food on the literal floor and the fact there's dried food on anything she washes like all she did was make the damned dish look at a bottle of dish soap and she leaves moldy limes in the bathroom and watches those fake medicine vids on YouTube and said that onions can absorb viruses from the air despite WORKING FOR THE NHS

Not to mention how she forces me to be religious, and once fucking interrogated me for having a blue ribbon bc """it's a boys colour""" and she's stolen my money on my and my siblings' birthdays before, and takes my shit and waits months before giving it back and once she promised to take me to a councillor like I had asked and she took me to some back alley religious place where some guy spat water on me for 30 mins and never goes shopping and gets mad when I don't share my cooking with her and uses all my stuff and shouts and hits me so now I have a fear of asking for help from anyone. Plus how she's always made fun of my fears despite the fact I can't control them, nevers answers a single fucking question I ask her and goes through my letters and I'm tired. I'm so tired, she acts like this and wonders why her children ditch her at their first chance.

It can be really shocking when people who are supposed to know certain extremely basic things as part of their job or alleged education seem to believe complete nonsense some quack sold them on instead.

I hope you can ditch her as well soon. None of this is okay and she seems to entirely lack self-awareness about her "parenting". This really does seem like the kind of person who ends up bitterly posting on estranged parent forums.

The good news is that I can say from experience that your life becomes better instantly once you cut contact with people like this and then continues improving as time passes and you slowly fix whatever damage they may have inflicted to your brain. Having supportive friends who accept you helps a lot.

I just came across this on YouTube and wow does rhis vid pack a punch. So much family trauma and love, and all twisted together. The editing is fantastic but it takes a few watches to realise how well those shots go with the lyrics.

I love the Lan brothers and their desperate devotion (to anyone who'll have me... fill me up), and the match of Zidian to "we're wonderful folks" for the Jiangs. I love the running section, JGY running for office, and LWJ running for a cause, NHS running from responsibility, and JC running into debt with his new golden core. Its great editing but it takes a few watches to appreciate it.

All this Goncharov renaissance on Tumblr has me nostalgic enough to watch Reservoir Dogs. Harvey Keitel might be missing the Russian accent and the eyepatch, but Mr White has always reminded me of Andrey. An Andrey who made it out of Naples with Goncharov, who got out of Italy with hope instead of heartbreak. An older Andrey who's mellowed with time, who's relaxed his guard without constantly juggling his loyalty to Goncharov with his assigned job.

You know, Tumblr reactions made episode 6 sound pretty gay, and I disregarded that as background noise because I never got that vibe from Hob in the comics. Then I watched episode 6.

Wow. I was so wrong.

Dream smiled! That felt like watching the gayest romance ever.

For a series with actual queer rep, that episode was gayer than everything else so far.
