i wish i could capture you
your beauty, your vastness,
the way you sometimes form hearts
and remind me of love
the way you sometimes hide the sun
and make me wish you could hide me too
the way you sometimes resemble the white ocean waves
and make me long for the ocean
longing;
i long for you when you are not there
i long for you when i am sad…or happy
do you know that i have started associating happiness with you?
you are in the gifts i receive
you are in the doodles i make
you are in my seat choice on a plane
you are in my phone’s gallery
you are in me
but i really wish i could capture you, all of you
like i capture all the silly things in life on my phone,
i want to capture you so i can look at you on delhi’s cloudless days
or when i need to be reminded of my aim
or when i am missing home because, as cliche as it may sound, you are my home away from home
but i am not sad about not capturing you
because you will be there, eventually
sometimes in pink, sometimes in blue, sometimes in grey, sometimes in white
you are never the same but
you are going to be there
