Ben Brody says his life was going fine. He had just finished college, stayed out of trouble, and was prepping for law school. Then, seemingly out of nowhere, Elon Musk used his considerable social media clout to amplify an online mob’s misguided rants accusing the 22-year-old from California of being an undercover agent in a neo-Nazi group.
The claim, Brody told CNN, was as bizarre as it was baseless.
But the fact he bore a vague resemblance to a person allegedly in the group, that he was Jewish, and, that he once stated in a college fraternity profile posted online that he aspired to one day work for the government, was more than enough information for internet trolls to falsely conclude Brody was an undercover government agent (a “Fed”) planted inside the neo-Nazi group to make them look bad.
...
The lies and taunts, which Musk engaged with on social media, turned his life upside down, Brody said. At one point, he said, he and his mother had to flee their home for fear of being attacked.
Now, he’s fighting back.
Brody filed a defamation lawsuit last month against Musk, the owner of X, formerly known as Twitter. The suit seeks damages in excess of $1 million. Brody says he wants the billionaire to apologize and retract the false claims about him.
Brody’s lawyer—who is the same attorney who successfully sued conspiracy theorist Alex Jones over his lies about the Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre —said he hopes the suit will force one of the world’s richest and most powerful men to reckon with his careless and harmful online behavior. Nazis or neo-Nazis are not a 21st century phenomenon in the U.S. This man, Frank Moffer, was a captain in the "Khaki Shirts" of Art J. Smith. Smith promoted himself as a dashing figure who flew bomber planes for Pancho Villa and served as Kerensky's aide in Russia. Until he embraced fascism, newspapers swallowed his stories whole and found him a colorful, harmless figure.
Smith registered the Khaki Shirts as a corporation and charged for membership, clothing, and expenses--the more they paid, the higher their rank in his army. He claimed to have 2,000 members in the tri-state area and an artillery of weapons of war. (This was probably as truthful as his claims of an adventurous past.)
In July, 1933, Smith staged a rally in Astoria that was infiltrated by supporters of Carlo Tresca, an anti-fascist leader (see this post). One of them was shot dead, and the Khakis tried to pin the murder on Athos Terzani, a colleague of the dead man. Bizarrely, the police arrested him. His trial became a leftist cause celebre, with Tresca and Norman Thomas organizing Terzani's defense.
The prosecution's case crumbled when Smith changed his story and another witness recanted his earlier testimony. Terzani was acquitted and Smith's bodyguard, Moffer (pictured above in court on February 13, 1934), confessed to the shooting. Smith was convicted of perjury and faded into obscurity.

This woman. Danuta Danielsson.
The day - April 13th, 1985. The place - Växjö, Sweden. There was a a demonstration that day by supporters of the Nordic Reich Party, a neo-Nazi group.
Danuta, a Polish Jewish woman living in Sweden was there. And she was furious to see the demonstration.
Her mother had been in a Nazi concentration camp. Danuta understood the horrors of Nazi policy.
So she went up to one of the marchers and hit him with her handbag.

Sitting Republican US Senator Tommy Tuberville declaring that white nationalism is "American" declaring nonsensically that he's somehow against "any kind of racism" while also defending white nationalists (who are racist) "right" to serve in the military and decrying Democrats for wanting white nationalists to not be in the US military
so you know, this is the Republican Party in 2023, remember to vote next year (and this year in Mississippi, New Jersey, Kentucky, Louisiana, and Virginia)

Just because the usual neo-Nazi boneheads have not captured the headlines they way they used to doesn’t mean they aren’t active, and there are some around them who probably wishes we wouldn’t take notice of that. (more…)

Elise Stefanik has made a conscious decision to adopt neo-Nazi talking points and become the florid face of white supremacy in the US House of Representatives.
Years ago Rep. Stefanik had a reputation as a moderate conservative from New York’s North Country. Was that just a ruse while she bided her time or was her transformation to the Nazi fringe a cynical career move to gain influence and mop up contributions from corporations run by far right interests? Neither explanation makes her look good.

My blog and Canadian 'Black Magic', a spy story, neo-Nazis and counterfeiting
GenCraft AI’s idea of what this specific blog might be about… One of the fascinating things about this blog, which I started in May 2010, is that people sometimes pick up on posts from the past and comment on them… and on previous Comments on them. For example, today there was a Comment about a blog I posted almost ten years ago – in October 2014.  The headline for that particular blog…

Neo-Nazi Thomas Sewell's Australia Day protest stopped

Neo-Nazi Thomas Sewell's Australia Day protest stopped
Tumblr media
Neo-Nazis led by Victorian white supremacist and homophobe Thomas Sewell failed to mount an intended Australia Day protest in Sydney yesterday.
Melbourne neo-Nazi Sewell boarded a train with about 61 other men at Artarmon Station. Dressed in black from head to toe and wearing balaclavas, the group immediately attracted attention.
But NSW Police met the train at North Sydney Station and brought the excursion to a halt.
“On arrival, members of the public were directed to leave the train while officers boarded and contained the group of approximately 61 to a few carriages.
“The group all had their faces concealed and were carrying a number of items, including shields and a flag.
“The items were seized by police.”
Police also ordered Thomas Sewell to stay away from Australia Day events in the City of Sydney.
A police officer told Sewell he believed his presence posed a threat to public safety.
“This is based on your ideological links, including your associates, your previous attendance and ideologically motivated public order incidents, your criminal history of assaulting members of the public and your goal of intimidating and provoking people.”

How much of a neo-Nazi party is the German AfD? | DW News
The German AfD: A Closer Look at its Ideology and Controversies
In recent years, the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party has often been at the center of public debates and discussions. While it is important to approach any political party objectively, there have been concerns about some elements within the AfD that promote far-right ideologies. Background and Ideology: The AfD was founded in 2013 as a Eurosceptic party, primarily focused on criticizing the…

I applaud this pro-LGBTQ restaurant for standing defiant against the intimidation of Neo-nazis. These far right lunatics have been vandalising their property with various homophobic graffitis. But the general manager says "We're not going anywhere."
Good on him, don't let these fascist win. Hatred never deserves to win
