I don't know why they're worried. Ireland doesn't have a very large Jewish population. Like so many other countries, Ireland didn't take in Jewish refugees during the holocaust. Back then they were very happy to be... neutral.

In his autobiography, Miles wrote about what Coltrane was doing as they waited to come on stage for this TV performance. Coltrane took out an envelope and pencil he had in a suit jacket pocket and was working on new ideas for cord structures to base his improvise solos. In music textbooks on Jazz improvisation, these are called Coltrane Substitutions.
