hi! could you tell me a bit about nebelungs? they are one of my favourite cat breeds, and i want to know a little more :3

Well then i'm not sure you don't know more me about them then 😅 before this ask i only knew that they are the longhaired version of the russian blue breed, and now that i read a little more, this isn't even entirely true: the first Nebelung cats were born to two black housecats and the breeders only later started to involve russian blue cats into the lines. (Althought they say the longhair allele still haunts the russian blue breed and sometimes there are surprise longhaired kittens in the litters. They can't be pedigreed as russian blues, but i wonder they could the transferred to the nebelungs?)

But disregarding the origins, nebelung and russian blue are very similar to each other, and the breed standard of the former was developped mainly based on that of the latter. Nebelungs have the russians graceful build, green eyes and silvery fur. This shimmer is the results of the white tipping of the hairs and a defining trait of both breeds.
