Now that Scarlet and Violet are out and Master Journeys is wrapping up, a new pokeani series is right around the corner, but this time there’s one big difference. Ash is now very best like no one ever was. He’s the number 1 trainer in the world. The usual formula of having him start at zero won’t work as easily as normal.
Sure they could hand wave it, give some reason why Paldea wasn’t a part of the World Series, probably have him battle and lose against Geeta right off the back and have him enroll in Naranja/Uva academy and go on his treasure hunt. But there’s another route they could go, and I hope they do.
Ash goes to Naranja/Uva, but as an instructor. (And then have team rocket be his teaching assistants)
Paldea extends Ash the invitation to teach, wanting the number 1 to help their academy. Have Ash be number 1, let that mean something, let Geeta battle him to prove she had the right idea about him and have Ash win. And then have him be absolutely horrible at teaching.
Ash battles on instinct, not theory. He doesn’t know how to relay that to students and that’s how he “starts at zero”, he needs to learn how to teach. And the best way to learn how to teach in Paldea is to go on his own treasure hunt.
As for companions, any combination of Penny, Arven, or Nemona would work. Nemona in particular would be very interesting. I think we all know that Ash and Nemona would get along right away, both of them having the same love for battle that very few others share. But I think for the anime, they could do the reverse of the game. Have Nemona be the promising new trainer and Ash be the champion to mentor and guide her.

Pokémon Scarlet/Violet headcannons w/MC who has Disabilities
Just me projecting, thought I’d share. Typed very hastily lol pls excuse the errors
Minor Game Spoilers | SFW
It’s is past my bedtime buuuuuuuut… Courtesy of the Arven Brainrot.
- Since Uva/Naranja Academy praises it’s diversity, I think to think they have decent accommodations for students
- There’s alternate routes around Mesagoza with accessible ramps and elevators. There’s no implied rules that students can’t ride a Pokémon up the main stairs of death to get to school either. (As someone with Cerebral Palsy, those stairs… they scare me. I would trip and die instantly if the embarrassment didn’t get me first)
- People don’t really ‘talk’ about the elevators and ramps tho so the faculty usually tell the students when they enroll
- Professors are mindful of students who need to keep snacks on them and will let most Pokémon sit with their trainers during classes for anxiety or other medical reasons
- Ya know the whole extra time on tests and all that. Extra time to get between classes for students with mobility issues.
- Ms. Dendra is a wonderful Battle Studies teacher and I liked to think she also does General PE classes on the side. You think she’s just gonna let children roam around without helping build up a bit of strength for all those hills and mountains they gotta climb??? No, she’s gonna make you run laps.
- She’ll hella nice about it tho. Just send her an email or talk to her before classes and she’ll hit you up with modified workouts so you can still participate with the class on your own preferred level.
- When Director Clavell showed up at the MC’s house at the start of the game and the mom was talking with him, I like to think he was making sure the student file was accurate
- Just so he had all the information to make sure the student would have all the support they needed during their time there at the academy since the MC was staying in the dorms
MOVING ON! Crater Squad GO
- I used to wear Ankle-Foot Orhtotics and had to use a walker for a bit soooo
Nemona:
- Nemona doesn’t even bat an eye at whatever aids you have
- Doesn’t outright ask questions but pays attention if you ever talk about it
- It helps open her world view
- If anything, if you customized them to feel more stylish/comfortable, she’d think it was hella neat! Would probably give you stickers and stuff to add to them
- She’ll probably gift you some of those cool compression sleeves like the one that she wears. Gets excited about what colors you might want and gets very happy if you wear the same color as hers.
- This girl looked at you and adopted you as her freshman rival in a heartbeat
- If anyone messes with you or starts rumors she is on. Their. Asses.
- Immediately reported to the nearest faculty member and will write a full report if the issue persists.
- She knows you can handle yourself though. Even if she worries, she tries not to hover. Will check in with you often tho
- If you have an odd gate (walking pattern) she might forget sometimes when she sees you and freak out that you’re limping from a Pokémon injury or something. A very brief second of panic.
- Catches herself wondering if a task might be too hard for you only to be proven wrong seconds later
- She’s just thinks you’re the coolest
- Doesn’t mind at all if you need to sit down for a bit after battling or on the treasure hunt
- She forgets that some people need breaks often and you asking for one reminds her to take a breather herself
- She has the stamina to battle for two whole hours but even then, she will not get between you and a snack
- Love love Loves how down to earth and practical you are about certain things but you still became a Champion despite everything. She won’t tell you, but the whole Pokémon League is impressed by you
- You’re a beacon of strength to her, even on your bad pain days if you get them
Penny:
- Penny overlaps a bit with Nemona
- Doesn’t bat an eye but will passively look up information
- Prefers to ask you questions tho, sometimes in person, usually over txt
- I like that her room is so dim, if a bit cluttered
- If you chill there for a bit, you will always have at least one Veevee in your lap or next to you
- Penny thinks it’s the cutest and she has a photo of you in a complete pile of Veevee’s
- You fell asleep on her bed and they all just collectively decided to pile on top of you. It was very cozy.
- Penny probably has a weighted blanket or a plush she’ll let you use
- She might even put on some Lo-Fi music if you asked her to, or she’ll play heavy electronic music at a low volume
- She just likes your company, she doesn’t feel pressured around you and she hopes you feel comfortable around her as well
- Worries more vocally than Nemona, and will find herself saying “that seems like a bit much”
- *catches you doing the very thing out of spite*
- “tHAT WASN’T A CHALLENGE?! STOP BEFORE YOU HURT YOURSELF?!?”
- Always has a snack on her and will share. Only with you tho
Arven ooooh Arven Big Brother Arven:
- Even if he was defensive to you at first, he immediately had a ping of concern when he met you
- Got so worried when you went to take down titans, especially the Open Sky Titan
- Openly asks questions about your disability and DIGS into research about it in his own time
- He wants to know everything and anything he can help with
- You’re convinced that some of that nurturing caregiving he gave to Mabostiff bled over to how he is with you
- Got genuinely curious if the Herba Mystica actually helped you (Especially the Salty Herba Mystica in my case lol)
- He’s always racing to your side to check on you when you actually fight the titans
- Always checks in when walking anywhere
- If the group wants to travel someplace he’s always the first to turn to you and ask if you’re up for it
- Will totally carry you if you just asked. If he’s not wearing his big hiking bag, he will give a piggyback ride. Even in between classes.
- Always reaching out a hand to steady you. Will let you hold onto him for support down/up stairs or slopes
- Cuddles. He can hardly initiate them at first but will never complain if you happen to lean on his shoulder or flop into his lap.
- The off-time he does initiate the cuddles at first, it’s usually to make you stop pushing yourself so hard.
- Oh, look at that, you’re in his lap now… guess you can’t go training like your body is telling you Not To Do But You Decided To Anyway.
- Gets pretty comfortable with Cuddles with you quickly tho. Once he’s gotten off the ‘Oh, Affection for once in my life’ shock
- I imagine he likes to hold hands too.
- He gives you little hand massages if you get fatigue from throwing pokeballs or writing too many notes. He doesn’t realize he does it it sometimes, it just happens if he’s holding your hand at the time.
- Memorizes your favorite comfort foods to make when everything gets too much. Uses your favorite color bowls/plates and everything. It’s perfect.
- Mabostiff declares himself your personal heater. No one has the heart to tell him he’s not quite a lap dog anymore.
Misc. Group ideas:
- all of them subconsciously bracket around you. Arven and Penny are always glaring at anyone who gives you looks
- Nemona also likes to hold hands. She’s always looking for an excuse to pull you around.
- Arven has to tell her to slow down often
- Penny may or may not have gushed to Team Star about you and you are on all of their ‘protect at all costs’ list
- Even if you did wipe the floor with them
- If the group stops by a store but you want to sit outside and wait, Penny will always sit with you to keep you company. She and Arven send each other memes and she’ll show them to you.
- Nemona is the queen of ‘I saw this thing and it reminded me of you’
- Tbh, that happens so often with everyone tho
- If it’s raining and it makes your bones ache and your chronic pain worse, the group will be there at your dorm. They refuse. Absolutely refuse to let you suffer alone.
- You cannot stop them, they just all collectively bee-line straight to you eventually.
- *rain starts pouring down*
- Arven: huh, guess we’re having dinner at my place tonight…
- Group cuddles after dinner. Cuddles and a TV marathon with Pokémon. It’s bliss

Could you do a giacomo x reader fluff?
Masc or fem! I don't really mind lol
Giacomo x Fem! Reader - Rock my World
Masterlist
Tw: Language
Exactly a year and a half ago. That’s how long this has been going on.
I, (Y/n) (L/n), the biggest supporter of Team Star, have been telling punks to get lost and stop being bullied for a year and a half.
No, it wasn’t always like this, I was the girl that wasn’t popular, but wasn’t shy and outcasted. I was kinda…there. Not the main character, hell not even a side character. Just kinda in the background of my own story, sadly enough.
No party invites, no crazy drama, no friends, no fun, no good grades, nothing interesting.
Until exactly a year and a half ago.
Team Star changed my life for the better, if I’m being completely honest.
Especially Giacomo, my best friend. I truly wish he were more than that, but he means too much to me, I can’t risk asking him out for the fear of loosing him forever.
Especially now, of all times.
Supporting Team Star from the sidelines certainly earns you a reputation at (Naranja/Uva) Academy. Seems like everyone sporting the damn (orange/purple) uniform has a thing against you the moment you stand up for the ones who were the victims. They certainly don’t see it like that though. They don’t know the truth.
Especially Nemona. Apparently Team Star’s been a pain in her perfect student council’s ass, and they’ve been running around like chickens with their damn heads cut off about their attendance records
So yeah, that’s when my ass gets dragged into things.
“(L/n), (L/n), (L/n)….WHAT ARE YOU UP TO WITH THE NEFARIOUS TEAM STAR!” Nemona said, attempting to act like a tv cop in an interrogation scenario.
“One. What the hell was that” (Y/n) said with a deadpanned expression,”Two, why is it any of your damn business. I’m not in Team Star, or does it look like I’d still be attending class, genius?”
“Language.” Director Clavell warned, standing behind Nemona as the scene unfolded before him.
(Y/n) just rolled her eyes,”You both clearly don’t know anything about Team Star then.”
“WHAT DO YOU KNOW?!” Nemona said, slamming her hands down on Director Clavell’s desk.
“I’m not answering you. You’re not above me. The student council is a damn club, you’re not an adult, you don’t need to act like one.” (Y/n) said, standing up,”I’m not staying for shit like this. Ever since Team Star went off of campus, this school ‘s gone to shit.”
(Y/n) walked out, but not before Director Clavell chimed in,”Sit back down. This is a serious situation!”
“Then act like it’s a serious situation, and don’t get your damn lap dog to do it for you Director.”
With that statement, the door to the office was slammed shut.
———
“She’s an asshole Nemona, don’t listen to her!” Florian said, sitting beside his girlfriend who was letting the tear fall from her eyes.
“I’m not a stupid lap dog….”
“Yeah obviously! You’re Champion Ranked! I think that’s gotta count for something.”
“You’re right!” Nemona said, standing up,”I’m gonna show her! I’m gonna go to Team Star’s bases and try to find her and give her and that dirty language a piece of my mind!”
“Wait, I’m coming with” Florian said, walking beside her,”I’m not letting her or anyone else run you over.”
“Thank you Florian”
“You’re welcome Nemona.”
———
“THE HELL?!!?” Mela said, crossing her arms and scowling as (Y/n) explained to her and Giacomo the situation that occurred at the Director’s Office.
“Yeah I know, right?” (Y/n) agreed,”Thinking she could talk to me any kinda way. She’s not in the position to say jack shit to me.”
“God” Giacomo said,”She still sounds like a real piece of work.”
“She is” (Y/n) replied, resting her head on Giacomo’s shoulder. That was something they always did, as just, “best friends”.
Mela and Giacomo shared a secret knowing look, watching as the blush on his cheeks rose.
“I know this is a, awkward time, but I wanna ask you on a da-“ Giacomo said, almost finishing before being interrupted.
“CHALLENGER ALERT! NEMONA OF THE (NARANJA/UVA) ACADEMY’S STUDENT COUNCIL. CHAMPION RANK ALONSIDE FLORIAN OF (NARANJA/UVA) ACADEMY! THAT SOUNDS DUMB AS HELL, BUT THEY MADE ME ‘ANNOUNCE THEIR TITLES’ OR SOMETHING! GET ‘EM MELA!!”
“SHIT!” All three of them said in unison, standing on their feet.
“We gotta go, LIKE NOW!” Mela said, bolting off to her Fire Type Revavroom.
(Y/n) and Giacomo both shared a look before taking off after Mela, hopping on the Revavroom as well.
———
“Now let’s fight this Team Star boss and get info on (Y/n)” Nemona said after defeating 30 grunt pokémon.
“Yeah…..or she’s right there. I knew it.” Florian said, looking up to Mela’a Revavroom.
“LISTEN UP PUNK!” Mela said, pointing at Nemona,”YEAH YOU. I AIN’T LETTING YOU TAKE MY BOSS BADGE, ESPECIALLY NOT AFTER THE SHIT YOU PULLED WITH (N/n) TODAY.”
(Y/n), who was sitting down on Revavroom’s edge of the top platform, was looking over at Giacomo.
Giacomo, for the first time in his seemingly calm demeanor, was pissed.
He stood up, looking Florian dead in the eye.
“You.” He said,”You think you’re all big and bad because you got your girlfriend down here to fight her battle. Her Battle. Not yours. Piss off.”
“Yeah aren’t you doing the same thing?” Florian retorted, putting his hands on his hips.
Giacomo’s cheeks flushed, looking away,”U-Uh no. We’re not a…not a thing.”
“Poor you then” Florian sarcastically said.
“MY GOD EVERYONE SHUT UP.” Mela said,”FIGHT ME FOR THE DAMN BADGE OR NOT?! IF YA CAME HERE TO HAVE A CAT FIGHT WITH (Y/n), JUST DO IT.”
Silence ensued, causing Mela to roll her eyes.
“My god.” Mela said,”Get over it. Nemona, your not a director stop acting like one. Florida, or whatever the hell your name is, stop encouraging this shit.”
Nemona and Florian looked down to the ground, ashamed.
“Giacomo, stop being a puss and ask her out already. (Y/n), stop getting involved with Team Star. I know you’re always here for us, but bullies will always be bullies, and you are NOT getting involved in that. I’m making sure of it.”
(Y/n) looked up at Mela, and then to Giacomo.
“So I was saying..uh…earlier before we were interrupted” Giacomo started, looking to the side awkwardly,”I wanna ask you out on a date. Not like another best friends date. A date date.
“I’d love to Como” (Y/n) said, standing up beside him.
“Awww!” Nemona said,”But get back to school! Director Clavell is having a heart attack with these attendance rates!”
“Screw off” Mela said, scowling.
Florian and Nemona shared a look of defeat before leaving the base, the grunts cheering as they left.
“Well” Mela said,”Get out. I ain’t one to see you two making out in my base. Go on to his”
The two shared a look, and ran off as well, traveling to the other side of Paldea to the Dark Type Team Star Base happily, together.

Loreleÿ Carmine Headcanons (Pokémon Scarlet Main OC)
- - - Christmas 2023 Special ! - - -
Tumblr media
Loreleÿ in her Blueberry Academy Uniforn alongside a sleeping Koraidon, reading the Scarlet Book in the Crystal Pool.
Gender : Female
Age : 13
Eye Color : Light and Dark Blue, with a Yellow circle around the pupil. Purplish halo.
Hair Color : Turquoise
"Hometown" : Area Zero
Place of Residence : Mesaledo (Mesagoza)
Region : Paldea
Relatives : Professor Olim Sada ("Mother") / Professor Turum Arven ("Father ?") / Pepper Arven ("Older Brother") / Mora Raifort (Adoptive Mother)
Trainer Class : Student
Generation : VIX
Games : Pokemon Scarlet
Specializes in : Past Paradox Pokémon (some from the Future too) / All types
Member of : Naranja Academy / Blueberry Academy (Internship)
First Pokémon : Fuecoco
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Loreleÿ is a young trainer and student at the oldest school of Paldea ; Naranja Academy. She started her first day as well as her journey alongside Menzi Nemona, who saw a wonderful friend and rival on her. As she is looking for a strong opponent to face her as she is the Champion.
When she went in Area Zero alongside Menzi Nemona, Pania Peony Rose and Pepper Arven, it was revealed that she was connected to Olim Sada, and therefore Turum and Pepper Arven in a way. She was created in Terastal energy, pretty much like the AI. Created by the single wish of having someone to have the same passions as her. She created the AI, but something else was created. Or should we say, someone else. And this someone, is Loreleÿ. She is also the adopted daughter of Mora Raifort.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Loreleÿ first appeared in front of the Academy, where she witnessed the battle between a young student, Florian, and some Team Star members. She will be amazed by the boy's talent as he just started as a Pokémon Trainer and will eventually be "enroled" by Menzi who saw potential in her. She will introduce both Florian and Loreleÿ to the school, as they are in the same class as her.
When they get to find their greatest treasure, Loreleÿ didn't know what to choose between the proposals of Menzi and Pepper, so she decided to do both without the other one knowing. She will eventually defeat all the Gym Leaders and find some Herba Mystica alongside Pepper.
She will eventually manage to defeat the Elite 4 as well as Alisma Geeta, and will be challenged one more time by Menzi with her Champion's Team, to which she managed to defeat.
When she arrives in Area Zero, she will constantly feel her heart pounding in her chest, a feeling she never had before. It was as if she had already gone to that place. Going deeper into the hole, she will manage to get into the lab, and there she finds the AI of the Professor, who revealed that the real Professor passed away some time ago. The AI will ultimately ask Loreleÿ to stop the time machine as she will be able to "fullfill the Professor's dream without needing the time machine", according to her. That's when she will reveal her past to her.
Loreleÿ was pretty much a wish of the Professor that was granted to her. As she was hoping there were 2 of her, the Professor created an AI version of her with Terastal Energy, but at the same time, Loreleÿ was also conceived as deep down, she also wish that someone could understand her vision and make her dream live on. Other than the "wish", Loreleÿ was conceived like a normal offspring would be. However, despite that, she is made of Terastal Crystals and Energy, and it can be seen when she is sad. Her tears look like crystals and her eyes also looks cristallized, pretty much like the AI when the Paradise Protocol System is activated. But considering her conditions of work in the Zero Lab, she decided it was not good for her to grow in this place, so she put her in Mora's custody, but she never forgot her (nor her son by the way).
Upon learning the truth, she was a bit lost, and she somewhat fell harder what Pepper felt at the exact moment where he realized the passing of his mother. With a heavy heart, she defeated the AI with the help of Koraidon, and says goodbye to her mother.
After those events, she often goes into Area Zero, as it is technically her hometown, and felt at peace in this place, despite being considered highly dangerous. It's pretty much her second home by now. Just like her mother, she will learn more about the Past Paradox Pokémons and will even "live" with them. By the way, she is often seen alongside a Slither Wing named Anavathmida, who is her absolute favourite Paradox 'mon.
Her team for her journey through the Paldea Region :
Arigëta (Shiny Skeledirge, ♀)
Milly (Shiny Psyduck, ♀)
Laëvana (Tinkaton, ♀)
Terria (Toadscruel, ♂)
Tag-Tag (Grafaiai, ♂)
Gambex (Lokix, ♂)
Her main team now :
Arigëta (Shiny Skeledirge, ♀) {Water Tera}
Anavathmida (Shiny Slither Wing) {Bug Tera}
Kima (Shiny Noivern, ♂) {Normal Tera}
Minto Mizu (Shiny Espeon, ♂) {Fairy Tera}
Kantai (Shiny Floatzel, ♂) {Grass Tera}
Lampsi (Shiny Glimmora, ♂) {Grass Tera}
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tumblr media
Facts about her ! :
Her real name is Loreleÿ, but she stylized it in her Trainer Card, to add some unicity to it. Her Trainer ID is 954056.
She never knew about her origins : that's mainly because Professor Olim wanted her to grow like a normal girl, so she asked if they could keep it a secret until she will be old enough.
She never talks about her origins. The only one who knows about her backstory are Olim (obviously), her adoptive mother Mora, and Pepper, Pania and Menzi when they went on Area Zero (they discover the truth at the same time as her).
Meeting Kassis Kieran on her very first trip to Kitagami was the main process of her falling in love with him.
She never felt any hatred after Kassis wanted to get his revenge.
She felt bad when she saw how brutal he could be sometimes. That is why she accepts Irido Drayton's proposal immediately without thinking about the rest (That's what luuuve can do♥).
When they went into the Depths of Area Zero, they will find some researchs of the Professor. As Bria Bruyer was reading them, she touched the other books and tears started to come as she remembers her mother. She will avoid eye contact at first so they will not see her altered eyes.
When she faced Terapagos, she was given power by the soul of the Professor, and we could even see a glimpse of her coat on her.
This power-up allows her to stand longer against the Legendary Pokémon. But at one point she will be overwhelmed by it's power and she will be badly wounded.
It's when Kassis snapped and handled the battle with her that she was ultimately saved from being annihilated by the being. However, she needed a good amount of recovery from this battle.
She will be forgiven by Kassis because she was pretty much ready to sacrifice her life for her friends and her crush. They will eventually end up together as she was recovering in the Blueberry Academy.
She will eventually get along with Pepper and she will be helping him with his parental issues.
Some times after she caught Terapagos, she went into the Crystal Pool and saw Professor Olim Sada, or what seemed to be a past version of her or an alternate timeline of her.
She will burst in tears and hug her as all of her past was emerging back. She would eventually tell her that she was her daughter and the Professor would make the link. Seeing how she has grown and everything she has been through (scars all over her body after the Terapagos encounter), she will give her the Scarlet Book as well as her necklace as a reminder of her mother, and a touchable link between them.
Her and Juliana Aceituñna (my Pokémon Violet Main OC) came from 2 different timelines. But the events with Terapagos and the Professor in the Indigo Disk literally combined their timelines into a single one. Which means that unfortunately, both Professors died in this timeline.
It's thanks to Juliana that she will learn about Professor Turum Arven, Professor Olim Sada's husband. She will wear futuristic tights in his memory.
Note that this backstory idea came from the Indigo Disk as well as a video from Moxie2D : Pokemon Violet with ONLY Pawmi ; The Anime. This was a wonderful turn of events for me. As she didn't have any real backstory, and then all of a sudden BAM ! It all clicked.

Poké-OCs: Chrys Anthem!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Chrys is the mc I’ve created for Scarlet! The cutiest patootie, isn’t he? In Japanese, his name would be Kikuo (キクオ)
Age: 14 (Scarlet/Violet)
Hometown: Montenevera, Paldea → Wyndon, Galar → Cabo Poco, Paldea
Trainer Class(es): Naranja Student, Paldea Champion, (Honorary) Blueberry Champion
Chrys’s grandmother is none other than the MC of RIP, Ryme! That makes Tyme is great aunt, or as he likes to call her, “Grantia!”
His father, thus Ryme’s son (at least one of lmao), is Pomelo Anthem— a famous actor for films and TV! Pomelo tends to star in a lot of action-packed roles fitting his naturally charismatic personality. He’s often quite the busy combee, but he always does his best to make time for his beloved family.
Chrys’s mother is named Asoka! She’s from Galar and has the biggest green thumb! Berries, veggies, herbs— you name it, she can cultivate it! Usually sells her produce at farmer’s markets, though sometimes she’ll be commissioned (would that be the right term??) to grow/harvest specific items for more private use (such as rare berries).
Chrys himself is a very friendly and sociable boy, who finds it easy to talk with just about anyone and loves to make new friends! Even if he wasn’t related to celebrities, he would be incredibly popular, lmao.
Chrys was born in Paldea (Montenevera specifically), but moved to Galar (Wyndon) when he was about 6. Pomelo was hired for a smash-hit TV series that was filmed there, and Asoka wanted to spend some time back in her home region. The Anthems ended up becoming good friends with Peony and his wife (I named her Daphne and have some thoughts on her I hope to share soon), and thus Chrys became befriended with Peonia (or Nia as I usually call her for more distinction) and Penny! Since Penny and Chrys are closer in age, they were often in classes together for most of elementary and middle school, as well as Trainer’s school. They have an incredibly close, sibling-like bond— Chrys is one of the few people that can encourage Penny to come out of her shell without sheer force or an Eevee-related incentive.
Chrys would often tell Penny about his dreams of going to the same school his dad attended back in the day: Naranja Academy! Penny was so fascinated by Chrys and Pomelo’s stories of the academy, she eventually wanted to go to Naranja with Chrys too! They were planning to enroll together at the eame time… but Pomelo wouldn’t be able to move back to Paldea until his tv series fully wrapped up. So, 12 year old Penny wanted to try Naranja out for herself to gain more independence… but we all know how that went. After the Team Star incident, Penny came back to Galar and ended up telling her family and Chrys everything that happened. While they were all understanding and never mad at her or anything, Penny always placed a lot of guilt on herself.
When Chrys and Penny became 14, Pomelo’s show finally wrapped up, allowing him and his family to move back to Paldea! Since Penny’s retreat was wrapping up as well, the two decided to take the plunge and follow on their promise to go to Naranja together. So this deters a bit from canon where Penny just... hacks the player's phone as Cassiopeia and all that. Instead it's more like Penny lets Chrys in on her Starfall plan from the get-go since she knows Chrys is great at battling, and Chrys goes along with the plan (even though he keeps insisting Penny should just come forward and tell Team Star everything herself).
Chrys also meets Nemona and Arven and joins in on their story routes from the game too! I'm debating on if Penny might have stayed at Chrys's house in Cabo Poco the night before they started school, so Nemona (and Arven?) might meet her a little earlier? But regardless, Nemona is immediately ecstatic about Chrys being such a good trainer. Chrys was already planning on trying out the gym league, so having a new big sister friend cheering him on is all good!
Chrys meets Arven and Koraidon the same way the players do in the games! Here's a little dialogue thing I've written up when Arven asks for his help with the Herba Mystica.
Arven: Oh, hey! So we meet again. You remember me, right?  Chrys: Yeah, I do, from the lighthouse! I don’t think I ever got your name though.  Arven: Oh, did I forget that? Well, the name’s Arven.  Chrys: Nice to meet you, Arven! I’m Chrys.  Arven: So I’ve heard! You show up with the Student Council President, and you’re the great nephew of Ms. Tyme— not to mention your grandmother and dad are also pretty famous. The whole school’s been talking about you nonstop.  Chrys: All good things, I hope.  Arven: Nah, don’t worry. You’re basically Mister Popular from the jump. Actually, I’m glad I can talk to you more one-on-one. Normally I don’t show up super often for class, but… well. Since you know about you-know-who, and you’re already really strong… I wanna ask a favor Chrys: Favor? Arven: You’ve gotta help me out so I can finally make my dream a reality! Chrys: … What dream? Arven: Caught your interest, have I? Well, this might come as a surprise, but I’m all about that picnic life: the great outdoors, the perfectly prepared sandwiches, all of it! Chrys: Really? Judging from the massive backpack you got… I never would’ve guessed.  Arven: You wouldn’t? Chrys: That was sarcasm  Arven: Oh. Right.  Chrys: But anyways, that sounds fun! Do you like cooking and hiking and all that too? Arven: You bet I do! I’m not half bad at cooking either, if I do say so myself. Right now I’m researching new recipes that’ll help pokemon feel better. Real health food, see. Chrys: Isn’t that almost all food, though? It all helps pokemon regain energy and recover from status conditions in one way or another.  Arven: I mean yeah but… I’m looking for something a little more specific. I found this book the other day, and it has a whole section about something called Herba Mystica. Basically, they’re special herbs that come in five different types, and supposedly just one lick of them as powder can get blood flowing, provide nutrients, prevent aging— it’ll even boost the immune system! They seem like the real deal. Only found in Paldea, and rare to boot!  Chrys: Oooooo! Then you want a foraging buddy to help you look for them?  Arven: Well… not just that. The book says the herbs are all guarded by Titan pokemon, meaning it’ll be pretty tough to grab even a few sprigs. Because well… look at ‘em. Chrys: Oh wow.  Arven: Yeah. I really want to get my hands on some of those herbs, but… I’m not very good at pokemon battles, as you saw this morning. I don’t really know anyone close enough with strong pokemon to lend me a hand, either. I do not want to crawl to the student council girl because I’d never hear the end of it. But here you’ve waltzed in, and you’d be perfect for it!  Chrys: I mean… truth be told, I am pretty curious about this Herba Mystica stuff. It might be cool to even try and collect some for my mom to try and cultivate!  Arven: Your mom’s a gardener? Chrys: Yep, she loves figuring out what different plants need to thrive properly. Arven: So… you’re willing to help me?  Chrys: Yeah, I don’t mind! Plus, you’re Koraidon’s… trainer? Owner? Technically? Arven: Eeeeh, I wouldn’t say that. We have some… history, though. I don’t want to get into all of it.  Chrys: Sure, I get it. No pressure.
I'm still playing through/wrapping up Scarlet, and some stuff like Chrys's trip to Kitakami will probably be it's own separate lil posts, but!! I'll include various notes on the blorbo
Has a tendency to pick up every little item he sees, follow rivers to their source, and generally take his time exploring all the little nooks and crannies he comes across!
Loves to take cute pictures of himself and pokemon he finds on his travels (even if he doesn’t catch them)... Photography becoming his main hobby/passion would actually work really well jk unless
… Kalim Al Asim and Yuji Itadori kinnie /neg /hj - Doesn’t really have his own identity outside of his family or what he can do. Like he knows who he is as an individual and stuff, but doesn’t really think that’s enough? As much as he knows his family loves and supports him in whatever he decides to do, he doesn’t really know for himself at all. He likes training and looking after pokemon, creative pursuits (art, music, photography), and homemaking skills like gardening and cooking— but he’s not sure what he wants to do with those skills other than use them to express himself/help others.
Has no idea what to do about being this “chosen one” (Legendaries flock to him for whatever reason lmao)
He tends to bottle up his negative emotions (especially if something really shakes him up) because he doesn’t like causing other people to worry about him.
Terrified of the Paradox Pokemon… Koraidon is like the only one he likes.
Sees Arven and Nemona as older sibling-type of friends! They fight over that custody a lot though
Chrys and Kieran will be boyfriends… eventually (They gotta get through the divorce arc first /hj). Their main ship name is PinkUpdoShipping (because I have the cute idea Kieran ties his hair up as BB Champion partially inspired by Chrys usually having his hair in a short ponytail too). Another alt name is AppleOrangeShipping (Since Kieran is associated with apples, and I associate Chrys with oranges quite a bit)
Here are the pokemon Chrys has in rotation as well (at least so far!)

PALDEA
JULIANA: An awkward young girl who moved to Cabo Poco from Unova. She's part of Mesagoza Academy's Naranja program since she chose the art track on a whim to focus on in school. Talkative but skittish, she's always been more comfortable talking the ears off her pokemon than those of people. Is often seen talking to herself, though it's truly her rambling to the Maushold family she keeps hidden in her hat that were gifted to her from her late father when she was small. Thinks she doesn't really excel at anything or have any notable skills, and struggles with finding her own purpose during her studies and travels. Inspired by those who have talents and dreams, and yearns to find her own niche soon.
Is called "Juli" most often by almost everyone except Arven, who insists on calling her "lil buddy". First befriended Nemona after moving, who introduced Florian to Juli when arriving on campus for the first time. Has picked up some cooking skills from her renowned chef parents, and enjoys cooking with Arven. Relates to Penny a lot, and is very close to the Team Star members.
FLORIAN: Enrolled in the Uva program due to his focus in battling. Now Champion rank. A young boy from Levincia who missed the previous year of school after his mental and physical health declined after an incident at Kitakami at the end of his first year. Finally came back to school for his second year, but had gained a more withdrawn personality, and refused to tell anyone what happened at the transfer event. Has gradually come out a bit from his shell again from traveling with Juliana, and has been able to open up more with his friends over the adventures with the Scarlet and Violet books. Still comes off as a bit intimidating or aloof to those who don't know him.
Nemona's main rival, and is skilled in battling strategies. Was close to reaching Champion status in his first year, but didn't go through with battling the league when he came back from Kitakami. Was assigned by the academy director to travel with Juliana, due to his health and her battle inexperience, so the two became partners during their journey.
OGERPON: Chose Florian as her new master during the school events at Kitakami, and has stayed with him every day. She's kept him company during his year out of school, and won't hesitate to break out of her pokeball if she senses he's in distress. Florian loves Ogerpon and takes care of her as best he can, but doesn't feel worthy of being her master. Only Juliana knows about Ogerpon since the pokemon came to comfort Florian one day.
KORAIDON: Was given to Juliana by Arven after the pokemon took care of her at the cliffside incident. Fiercely loyal to the girl, and is rarely in his pokeball.
MIRAIDON: Was used in battle by the AI Turo. After an intense battle after revisiting the Area Zero lab, the pokemon chose Florian as his master.
ARVEN: Studying the culinary arts in the Naranja tracks. Since confiding in Juli and Florian after the Academy Ace Tournament, he's started training with Juliana’s mom, as well as Katy and Kofu. He practices what he's learning by having weekly dinners with his friends. Has been helping Juliana find out her niche. The two have just started looking into his parents old research together.
NEMONA: Has been taking part in the monthly Ace Tournaments. The title of the “Academy’s Ace” is juggled between her and Florian, which she is extremely happy about finally having her rival back at full form. Has been helping Arven train for battles whenever they have time, to which he complains she doesn't know how stressful her own lessons are- however efficient they've proven to be.
PENNY: Has been doing great with her work for the league- and enjoys the extra income for buying small things to spoil her friends with when she can. Has been unsuccessfully trying to get Arven off her back for her choice of meals, but he still brings her dinner the nights he’s in the dorms. Very close to her sister in Galar, and has been keeping Peonia up to date with her adventures and new friends.
CATALINA: Juliana’s mom. Both she and her late husband were from Paldea, but moved to Unova when Juliana was a baby to open a now famous restaurant in Castelia City. A well renowned chef who studied under Katy in her youth, she's trying to get back into the culinary world in her home region. Has enjoyed seeing her daughter make new friends, and does her best to take care of them as well.

One this episode of reading way too much into a children's game, I want to discuss Arven and Nemona and their similarities and differences. Mainly revolving around their upbringings and how their familial situations shaped them, and even why the two became at odds with each other.
(Spoilers for the end game and post game of SV under the cut)
So let's start by saying, well what do these two even have in common?
1. They both come from prestigious families.
2. This prestigious family/family member had a direct impact on their own social standing and both are judged for it.
There are other similarities, but these are mostly superficial, these two being the ones I noted as having significance. And as you can see, both of them relate to their families in some way. Alright, so both of them come from some pretty important families, but who are these families specifically? Well, as we know, Arven is the son of Professor Sada/Turo, aka the most impressive professor the games have given us yet, and Nemona's father, who's on the board of the Rotom Phone Company.
Why are their families important? Well, their family, in some way, is integral to why they turned out the way that they did, and in part, why they grew to resent the other.
So let's start with Arven:
(For brevity's sake, I will be referring to Arven's parent as Sada, as I played through scarlet, but know that any points I make about her apply to Turo in the case of violet)
Born to the esteemed professor Sada, you might expect that Arven had an easy life growing up. With a name known across the entirety of Paldea, and even outside it, surely her influence must have been carried to her son, causing him to be studious and never late to a class. Especially not when Sada was herself a graduate of Naranja Academy. The reality, as most players know, however, is quite different from that picture.
To say Sada was a distant parent would be putting it lightly, so I'll say it outright. She was a neglectful parent, straight up. Controversial opinion, I know. From a young age she completely abandoned Arven to pursue her research and didn't even have the time to be home, let alone interact with him. His passion for cooking isn't even something born purely from a genuine like of it, as he states himself in his route in post game that he only picked up how to cook because his mother was never around.
Which means Arven had to learn to cook as a child, along with providing for his Maschiff/Mabosstiff, and Koraidon when Sada got her time machine working. Not to mention that Arven saw Koraidon as being the thing that took away his mom and childhood and yet he's the one forced to take care of it.
(On a slightly separate note I find that incredibly symbolic that Sada couldn't provide for both of the things she brought into the world. She didn't provide for her own son, and she didn't even provide for the Koraidon she brought back from the past even though that was a direct result of her research. Just something interesting I noted.)
So Arven was forced to grow up, he didn't get to experience a childhood like everyone else, instead left to clean up after his mother's mistakes and make a meal for himself and his Mabosstiff everyday. I imagine this is why he's so abrasive and standoffish in the beginning of the game, because he can't relate to any of his peers and that frustrates him. It frustrates him that he can't have fun and enjoy himself like all the other kids his age, and all because his own mother chose her research over her own flesh and blood.
And perhaps no one ignites this frustration quite like Nemona does.
Enter Nemona. A girl the same age as him, who also comes from some important names, but they couldn't be further apart. She was provided for, loved and cared for, never had to or has to worry about her next meal, and her name is heralded due to her status as "Champion" due to her age. She's extroverted and such a boundless burst of energy, and it isn't fair.
Why wasn't Arven given that? How come he didn't deserve that life? Why does Nemona deserve it? She's not so great, even if she did always win every fight he ever engaged her in. She just got lucky, she's never experienced any real hardship, not like he has.
He hates her because in his mind, she's been given everything he's ever wanted. From the outset her life looks so idealized, it looks perfect, and he can't understand why he couldn't have had that life. It's unfair, but he doesn't know her, and it's not a hard conclusion to come to, especially when Nemona's someone no one's ever been able to get close to.
Let's investigate that.
So Nemona, at least in terms of upbringing, certainly did have things easier than Arven. We see the bigass mansion she lives in, and we know at least her father is stacked. I mean they like, have butlers, so yeah, rich. Definitely never had to worry about food or likely doing anything around the house. She does mention her parents being distant but in her words, "in a good way" so I imagine gone away on business trips often or stuff like that.
With her older sister primed to be an heir, she had less expectations set on her as the youngest, but that didn't mean she didn't have any. Once she started attending Naranja Academy is when the issues started to arise.
(I will be extrapolating quite a bit from here, but we don't really know much about Arven or Nemona's first year, so it's kinda up in the air. And I am basing most of my thoughts on stuff at least mentioned in the game)
Due to her family's reputation, she began to gain a status immediately as this kind of "princess" whose family had bought her into this school. Her peers either saw themselves as beneath her or scoffed at the notion that she was above them, regardless of if Nemona substantiated these claims. I imagine, though it likely wasn't as bad as it was with Team Star, she was even picked on for this status.
That she "only got in cause of "daddy's money" and that it didn't matter what she did because she could just "buy her problems away." This bothered Nemona, as she'd always felt quite distant from her family and their business endeavors. They'd never pressured her to be a part of it, not when her sister was around, and she'd never been interested in it.
But regardless of what she told her peers, they never took her seriously, this constant invisible wall separating her from everyone her age. So she decided that if she could do something real impressive, then they'd judge her on her own merits, rather than judging her based on who her family was. So she worked her ass off training her pokemon and grinding through every gym, until at last she made it to the Pokemon League. That would have been impressive enough, but Nemona wasn't gonna stop there, no, she was gonna take on the League and she was gonna win.
And against all odds, she did. She defeated Geeta, La Primera, and won, becoming a Champion in her own right. Finally she had proved herself, proven that she was more than a family name, that she was Nemona, a Champion! Right? Well, not quite. Turns out beating all eight gym badges and the Pokemon League was an unprecedented feat and incredibly difficult for someone her age, so now the conversation around her just became "She must just have some crazy natural talent" and the wall never left, in fact, it might've grown worse, because now the thing she's most passionate about she can't even go all out in, because everyone is so afraid of loss.
Which is something she can't understand, because she had to have lost so many times before she eventually became Champion. To her, a loss is just an opportunity to learn how to win next time. But no one else really seems to understand that, and so she's forced to hold back, and even when she does, it's still too much. So despite her extroverted nature, she doesn't really have any friends, never able to break past this barrier she has with her peers.
Which is why (though it's likely less intense than Arven) she resents Arven. Because despite his standing as the son of the professor, no one sees him as being higher than any other kid, and no kid views themself as lower in his presence. He can interact with others normally, without having to hold any of himself back, and Nemona envies that. Sure, maybe that just means people see him as a disappointment, but she'd rather be a disappointment than be untouchable.
Which is why when they meet in Area Zero, and get to interact more, they realize how they've misjudged each other. Sure, Arven doesn't have this barrier that prevents him from interacting with others, but that doesn't mean it's easy for him. It's not better to be a nobody to everyone except for the footnote of being the professor's son, and he can't interact with his peers on a normal level anyway, not when he's matured so far past them.
And though Nemona is surrounded by attention, it's not exactly always good attention. Just because she's accomplished a lot doesn't mean she's perfect. She experiences her own problems, even if they're different than Arven's, and that while she was lucky to be born into a home that loved and provided for her, her titles were her own to gain, and that had nothing to do with luck.
And I think they always were on the way to those discoveries, it's just that their own resentments kind of clouded them to it. Like, I think Arven never felt this invisible barrier with Nemona. Maybe because he also had an influential parent, or maybe because he only ever saw her as a lucky, annoying prick, regardless, he'd always treated her like a person and not a figure. And likewise, though she acknowledged others saw Arven as a disappointment, Nemona never actually saw him as one. Hell, with her disposition, I think she saw how much potential he had, and only resented him more for not applying himself.
Think there's proof of that with her line of "You better actually show up for class!" in the beginning of the game.
But yeah, upon a second playthrough, I couldn't help but notice how similar these two were with their family situations, and that got me thinking about how differently they turned out, and how their separate problems fueled their initial distaste of each other. As of now though, definitely think they're the kind of besties that are comfortable enough to fuck with each other but knowing each other well enough to know when to stop, and that they care deeply about the other.
Sorry, I'm very sappy about these idiots, very sad I couldn't include Penny but her family has no influence and her problems are more centered around like, the failure of the school system, at the time anyway. Which I would be down to discuss as well as my own headcanons for her family situation, but that's for another post.
(If there's interest for that lmk)

Headcanon - Blueberry Academy And The Pressure to Succeed
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Uva/Naranja Academy and Blueberry Academy could not be more different from one another. This may seem like a pretty surface level observation, but the fact of the matter is that the culture surrounding battling and achievement in particular is much more intense than it is in Paldea.
To expound upon this, when we first arrive at Uva/Naranja, we're greeted with the concept of the Treasure Hunt. Yes, classes are still imperative but the truth is, where you choose to focus your studies ultimately is up to you. There is a lot of freedom within Uva/Naranja to follow one's passions, and that is reinforced by the faculty that are proactively involved in the lives of their students. That's not to say that Uva/Naranja is perfect by any means, as evidenced by how they handled Team Star. However, your education and what you do with it is much more in your own hands.
By contrast... Blueberry Academy seems to put an intense focus on battling and competition among its students. There do appear to be plenty of extracurricular activities available to the students, but battling appears to be the main focus of this academy. Between the exclusive use of double-battling, the competitive strategies that we see in Pokemon battles from non-E4 members, and the reactions of onlookers when their Champion loses a single match, it's pretty clear that the students hold themselves and each other to a higher level of battling.
Where does this culture come from? Likely it stems from the faculty first, but perhaps paints a broader picture of Unova's views on battling. We don't get the opportunity to see more than just one class during our introduction to the academy, but the class itself is very much hands on, practical experience. This may not be the case for every class, but it certainly lends itself to the impression that faculty expect you to be of a certain skill level when going into their assignments and to achieve the expected results.
And of course there are the random trainer encounters throughout the Terrarium. Each student seems to be focusing on their teams and trying to competitively improve so that they can move up or impress other trainers.
Tumblr media
This all culminates in the Champion Battle against Kieran. All of these students gather together to watch, and the moment that Kieran loses, all of them turn their backs and walk away as if it was never worth their time to begin with. This is in stark contrast to the way the final battle against Nemona is perceived in Mesagoza. And while yes, Kieran certainly did not help the matter with how he behaved prior to the match, there's still no celebration or fanfare in this battle, even for the victor. It feels more like the students watching went well that Champion was short-lived. Anyway...
I would not be remotely surprised if Drayton's loss to Kieran had a similar energy.
Let's take a moment and move back to the Teal Mask too. Yes, there are other factors that do contribute to Kieran slowly losing it, but each battle does become more personal for him. That loss streak really gets to him over the course of the trip, perhaps because it's happening so consistently against someone he assumes to be a peer. And if the academy he attends already has a very intense curriculum when it comes to battling, this shouldn't come as a surprise.
We don't know how well Kieran was doing at Blueberry Academy before the Kitakami trip, but we can at least infer from Drayton that he had a lot more fun battling prior to those events. My guess is that Kieran was having his fair share of wins and losses.
And what of the faculty when it comes to Kieran's mental health? No one appears to have stepped in or tried to talk with him. The only faculty member directly involved in his battling is far more absorbed in the knowledge she can glean from him, rather than listening to and understanding a teenager's desperate cry for help. To me this implies the teaching staff do not have nearly as much care when it comes to how their students are faring if they're getting results in battles.
The academy is failing at checking the mental and emotional well-being at all levels if they're fine with allowing a troubled kid to no only run himself physically ragged, but inflict this same kind of punishment on other students for being weak in battle.
So what is the result of this? Bleuberry Academy is fostering highly competitive young trainers who will absolutely take on Unova, more than ready for all of its challenges and battles, but it appears to have a negative impact on the socialization of its students as well, where winning becomes a priority for everyone involved. Of course, not all of the students fall into this mental trap, but those that do may end up drowning due to the pressure and expectations of Blueberry Academy's ever lofty expectations.

Continuation of this— Okay, if I do write a submas in Paldea fic, what trainer would you want to see taking the place of the player character/Arven, Penny, and Nemona's friend? More info about each under the cut!
Juliana & Florian: A pair of Paldean siblings who were homeschooled until their mother thought they were old enough to attend Naranja/Uvas Academy. Juliana's partner is Floragato while Florian's is Quaquaval. Florian is two years older than Juliana and in the same class as Nemona! He attends Uvas Academy while his sister goes to Naranja Academy (both are run by Clavell, of course. They differ by age group and study subjects, for the most part! No, I have no idea how the main story works if both Scarlet/Violet happen in one universe. But this isn't about the main story!)
Juliana is just begining to date Arven while her brother cheers her on from the side lines! I was debating between having Juliana/Nemona or Juliana/Arven, I settled with the latter since they're closer in age and attend more classes together.
Reader/YN: Typical reader insert, though they'll likely have a bit of spice to them rather than being the stereotype shy Y/N-chan. Their partner is Skeledirge, and they only recently came to Paldea, likely just for the education. If I end up writing a reader insert, there will be future polls deciding things like what their pronouns are, what their home region is, what school do they go to, what the rest of their team consists of, and etc!
The fic will also have a heavier focus on the reader's pov and bonding with the Unovan dragons— Platonically, because this is not a submas/reader fic. There might be pairings with other students, though!
Original Character: To-be-named. She will likely be based off my own experiences playing Pokémon— I started with Moon, so she'll have moved from Alola and be an official Alolan champion. She's a wild spirit who's Naranja dorm is overflowing with Pokémon. Frequently, she hosts picnics in Area Zero despite the laws against it and entering the area in general. She also he gets along splendidly with Nemona because of their shared passion for battling, but finds most people in Paldea to be frustratingly weak— *cough* Geeta *cough cough*. However, she does meet her match in Blueberry academy.
A large amount of the DLCs plot was altered because she was extremely forward with Kieran, insisting he date her immediately if she won against him in battle. (Which she did.)
If I end up writing her, she might critique in-game problems like the inability of most Pokémon to keep up with Koraidon/Miraidon, and otherwise break the fourth wall.

I have drawings for Nemona and Arven too…
But I hate the designs I made so I will fix them at some other point in time
Turo/Sada - child of Professor Arven (If you play Violet Turo is the son and if you play Scarlet Sada is the daughter). Near same story as Arven, both are on the hunt for the Herba Mystica to help cure their ill friend.
To play off the AI ending, these two aren’t the ‘original’ Turo and Sada. They were ‘born’ after the original pair had died and Arven in his grief tried to use the time machine to bring them back. However all it did was bring back a Turo and Sada but not his Turo and Sada. Eventually he distanced himself from them out of despair which leads to their current relationship. They’re not robots but I guess more like whatever the Area Zero pokemon are but can age.
Clavell - A recent transfer student who gets rescued at the beginning of the school year. He seems serious but kind of dorky and tries very hard to fit in with other students his age. Thus will try and fail using slang and memes. Definition of an old soul lol.
He’d be the leader of Team Star but unlike Penny who only spoke with her team over the phone/computer, he actually went in person. Under the guise of a student named Clive. Given how regular Team Star and Penny didn’t recognize Clive as Clavell, no one thinks for a second that the transfer student is the infamous Team Star boss.
I also think his team would consist of all three starters.
Geeta - Larry/Iono’s next door neighbor. She, like Nemona, is the first to battle them and the first to give them the pokedex app. Her entire personality feels…I don’t want to say sinister but like ‘big boss’. Most people are anxious around her especially as it’s hard to tell what she’s feeling.
This does disappoint her quite a bit, and I imagine through she’d try to be more expressive with varying degrees of success. Such as trying to mimic Champion Nemona’s energy only to feel embarrass and walking off without a word.
Penny - The Director of Naranja/Uva academy. She comes off really distant but she does have the students best interest at heart. Will also provide the pokemon for Larry/Iono that were probably researched to hell and back to perfectly suit them.
She doesn’t pull a Clive and instead hacks Larry/Iono’s phones to communicate to them as Cassiopia. Which mildly concerning that the Director is doing this lol.
Protagonists Larry and Iono - Depending which character you pick you’re either Larry or Iono (or change their name but you know for description sake it’s just their names). Course as a player character they’re essentially blank slates that you’re allowed to do whatever with. But for this:
Larry moved to Paldea from Kanto. Mother had probably applied him to Naranja academy without his knowledge and then was told a week before the move that he got accepted and they were also going to move there. Needless to say shocked about the whole situation and not at all thrilled.
Iono moved to Paldea from Unova (and lived in Kalos, Galar, and Hoenn at one point because her family moved around a lot). She happily applied to Uva academy in hopes that if her parents had to move again, she could at least stay there for a little longer. Got accepted and is happily living the dorm life.

Uh hi! I’m may champion of hoenn. I got an invitation to teach a battling course at your academy from a nemona?
- @its-may
Oh, is that so? Hm, I... would have expected to hear about that! You know, things reach me through the grapevine (Get it? Grapevine? And this is Naranja-Uva Academy?)
But I guess a Champion would be pretty qualified. So go ahead, give me your best pitch!

Professor Clavell said I need to branch out and make more friends so…
I’m Florence, a student of Naranja Academy studying on the biology track. Besides school, I am also Professor Jacq’s assistant in the goal to completing the Pokédex, and I also occasionally help out the League. Oh- and I’m a champion ranked trainer too, I guess.

My team:
-Cecilia (M Meowscarada)
-Cascade (F Floatzel)
-Maizy (F Houndstone)
-Blitz (F Talonflame)
-Nezumi (F Pawmot)
-Nora (F Tinkaton)
-Pyrrhus (M Koraidon)
^ I don’t use Pyrrhus for battle super often, he’s just my ride. Don’t worry, I don’t go around flaunting a team of seven Pokémon. Please don’t ask me what a Koraidon is.

-Hot Spring (M Sneasel)
And that’s… all I really have to say about myself, I guess. I’m not the chattiest of people, but feel free to contact me if you have any questions about the Pokédex or biology facts in general. Or if you’re also a student and need help with your homework. You’re outta luck if it’s math, though.
Edit: Ignore that last part. I am currently unable to hold anymore library tutoring sessions, I’m too busy.
((OOC information))
Florence is my ScarVio protag, based in the same OCverse as @pinkhairandpokemon. This blog currently takes place about a few months after the game’s main story!
Florence is a very dedicated student who pours herself into work, or any task she’s given. She struggles though to make friends her age- really the only other students she gets along with are Nemona, Penny and Arven. Poor girl is very awkward around other teens, and often finds herself getting along better with the teachers (no matter how much they try all and insist she should socialize more with her fellow students). She’s also a bit blunt, and unintentionally comes off as rude at times, but she means well. Her tendency to speak her mind a bit too honestly is also one of the reasons she’s hesitant to make friends.
Anyways, that’s just a lil run-down on her character! I hope you all like her :D
Reminder that character is a minor. Don’t be weird 🔪

The Paldea Region…a region where people and Pokémon co-exist. From the skies to the seas, there are Pokémon at every corner! At the heart of the region lies a giant crater inaccessible to ordinary people…and around this area, in a corner around the crater, lies an academy known as Naranja Uva Acadamy. An academy where students can learn from basic lessons such as language, maths, and P.E. to Home EC, students are offered dorms, and within the academy is a shop where they have everything they need. Within the academy resides the prodigy known as Florian.
Florian is a young 14-year-old trainer who reached the Champion Rank thanks to his rival. His friend group consisted of Nemona(The Battle Hungry maniac), Arven(His cook bestie), Penny(Hacker VeeVee girl), and of course, the iconic paradox Pokémon, Miraidon. Due to his appearance, Florian was often mistaken for a girl until he spoke, which he always found funny. Sometimes, he’d just let people think he was a girl for some time and then speak.
One day, Florian heard of a trip to a place called Kitakami…which caught the young trainer’s interest. So, he willingly signed up…
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
At the airport, Arven, Nemona, Penny, and their mother met up to bid Florian ‘bye’ even tho it was temporary.
“Make sure you call us, little buddy!” Arven grinned.
“Make sure you get stronger so we can have more fruitful battles!” Nemona chimed.
“Make sure you call…” Penny muttered softly.
Florian looked at his ride partner, Miraidon, who chirped happily. They could tell the electric/dragon type was excited to see more of the world.
Florian stared out the window, wondering how long has it been since he took off to Kitakami. He was bored out of his mind and he had a nap not too long ago. His partner, Meowscarada, on the other hand, was still napping. That grass cat Pokemon HATED being in her Pokeball, so it was up to Florian to ensure this cat wasn’t causing mischief. The boy checked his room phone.
“Man…this is taking forever…and we also need to take the bus…” They muttered to themselves.
Florian looked around the plane, so many trainers…many faces he could recognize as students but not know on a personal level, and then there was Ms.Briar…Florian wasn’t fond of her…and neither was the Magician Pokemon…
Florian checked his team: Meowscarada, A recently caught shiny Flygon, The guardian Miraidon, Azumarill, A shiny Lucario, and a shiny Gengar.
Some of these Pokemon were hatched, some were just caught at their current stages but they all obeyed Florian flawlessly.
He was snapped out of his thoughts as he heard the pilot announce their descent.
“Finally…”
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kitakami…a small village-like region and a popular tourist destination…home to Pokemon who are not found in Paldea. Florian got off the bus and looked around.
‘So much green…’ They thought.
Briar guided the students to the community center, yet Florian was lost in the scenery…until he bumped into someone!
“Grah!” A voice echoed.
“A-Ah! Are you ok!?” Another voice chimed in.
Florian looked in front of him. A tall girl with a dark smoke brown hairband and eyes looked down at me. Her hairband had dark smoke-brown wings with dark orange tips. Her dark blue hair with a harsh pink interior and yellow highlights in the front hair waved elegantly in the gentle wind.
“What gives!?” She shouts.
“I-I am sorry! I got c-caught up in the surroundings!”
“Surroundings…I take it you are…new here…?”
Florian looked at the source of the other voice. A smaller boy, around Florian’s age, seemed to share a similar hairstyle to the girl. Although his hairband was a harsh pink with what Florian believes are chains hanging loosely. The boy’s pink eyes were something they were sure to never forget.
“Ummmm…you are staring at me…” the boy spoke softly.
“S-Sorry!” Florian apologized.
“Yea…I will just…mark all of this as you being new here…”
Florian nods, glad that it got sorted quickly.
“I’m Kieran…the featherbrain with wings is my sister…Carmine.”
“Hey! Who are you calling a featherbrain!?” Carmine shouts, getting all riled up.
“You…jeez…” Kieran retorted, sighing. “Sorry about the featherbrain…she gets…riled up easily, really.”
Florian couldn’t help but stare at the chains dangling from Kieran’s hairband…they were simply so pretty…no…Kieran was pretty. That shade of pink just really suits him…
“H-Huuuuuuuuuh!? Kieran suddenly blushed.
“W-Wait…what happened!?” Florian panicked.
“You just said my brother is pretty and that shade of pink really suits him…” Carmine spoke.
“I-I said that out loud!?” Behind Florian, Meowscarada chuckled.
Kieran, still flustered, took Florian’s hands in it’s and smiled.
“I-I think you look pretty too! E-Everything about you is unique!”
Carmine rolled his eyes.
‘Lovebirds…’ she mentally sighed.
The girl now watches as his little brother and the newcomer are flustered messes.
“ANYWAYS! Come now, new kid.” Said Carmine as she took Florian’s hand and took him to the Community center, Kieran following behind.
A little bit later, we arrived at the center.
“Florian! There you are!” Ms. Briar spoke as she approached me.
“Now we know your name…” Kieran muttered.
Florian chuckled.
“Sorry…”
“I see you met the two group guides already!”
“I’ll get these kids! Kiki, you get Florian!” Carmine said/
For a second, Florian swore Carmine chiriped…like a bird.
Once the groups were decided, I looked at Kieran and smiled.
“Lead the way!~” Florian smiled.
Kieran fidgeted nervously but nodded.
“O-Ok…follow me…”
‘Strange…’ Kieran thought as it couldn’t shake off the smile from Florian. ‘What is he…doing?’
Thoughts ran through the young boy’s head…
“HOLD IT!” Carmine’s voice rang loudly.
Kieran and Florian turned around, only to see Carmine rush at them.
“I want to battle Florian!”
Florian could see a spark in Carmine’s charcoal eyes. A desire to battle.
“Hmmm…let me see if my team is in good condition…” Florian muttered, playing with his braided hair before reaching into his bag for the Pokemon. Meowscarada seemed in good condition. She seemed eager to fight!
“Alright…we can battle.” Florian exhaled.
Carmine looked like he wanted to jump up and down.
“Alright! Let’s do this!”
We went back to the front of the Community Center, Carmine pulled out a Pokeball. She confidently threw it and Mightyena came out.
Florian looked at Meowscarada and she jumped into the battle, meowing ferociously.
Carmine laughs as he gets into battle mode.
“Welcome to Kitamami! For your first experience, get ready to eat dirt!”
