i’m on PM duty so i didn’t set an alarm and woke up at 830AM. i walked my dog after, then had brunch with my beau and did journal a bit!! it was a much needed reset (the cleaning last night / laundry / walk / brunch with my beau). what matters in the end anyway are those things ~

happy sunday!!! i just had breakfast, had a vid call with my mom, and did journaling. i’m now doing laundry. is this what it feels like to have a weekend and a work-life balance in ENT? count me in!! wow i’m happy.

morning situation —

feeling happy because I was able to go to the gym tonight, do some journaling, and also spend time with my loves ones. I’ll just study a little and then turn in.

Today was quite tranquil during duty. Did some journaling before going to bed to do anki, and then maybe, finally sleep. My planner hasn’t beed updated well this week because outside rotations are just exhausting (in this case, the commute to and from work). Next week’s spread will be better.

currently in a coffee shop, journaling the past two days —

new month, new rotation. ER day 1, and other things

i’m currently in my ER rotation— they made it f2f instead of the usual online that everyone anticipates because it’s rest time. but well, here we are, and everyone’s confused. everybody thinks it’s ER under IM (internal med) but no no, it’s ER. lol it’s funny.

anyhow, the dept is still confused with our responsibility because they have developed a system with the PGIs (post grad interns— doctors who have graduated but have yet to take the board exam) these past two years so! we are just there, observing and taking the excess cases when the IM/surgery PGIs have ongoing cases. i’m still pondering if i should talk to the ER head because we don’t really do anything in triage— the nurses do the triage, so it’s just a low-yield job without the actual triage responsibility. and so, let’s see how it goes.

i had such a good morning!!!! i finished my car registration renewal, went to vet for her yearly vaccines, and then bought coffee on the way home because i’m on PM duty today. i took a two-hour nap after and it was so precious.

our ophthalmology rotation’s first day was meh. i was left in the OPD in the morning and it was so toxic! i wrote a much-needed journaling. i missed ENT!

now i’m going to sleep after doing some reading because i’m in the operating room tomorrow i have to be in the hospital before 5am since the procedures start at 6am.

hello from a bright sunday morning! I’m attending an art fair today because yes, our psychiatry rotation gives us a healthy mental state ✨ I might do a post or so about a recent life update. so far though? life is good. life is perfect when you have enough rest.

currently on a solo ward duty. a week and a half in ENT and we are loving it! ☺️

i’m From duty, so i spent the day sleeping. i had lunch/dinner at 6pm, saw a neighbor patient, walked my dog, edited yet another poster as instructed by the consultant, did journal, and had dinner with my beau. for the rest of the night i will fold my laundry while watching the fabelmans 🤭

another long journaling session — recounting the time i was wheeled inside the ER while doing the CPR just like in the movies. i have done a lot of CPRs before, but this one felt surreal

happy saturday! we had our boards review today (microbiology and parasitology). my friends and i stayed in a café and now we are back in CCU (critical care unit). hmm i might watch stuff and take it easy today.
