🥁 Level 3 Fitness Trainer Alert! 🏋🏻‍♀️ ————————————————— Today I finished my most amazing two months fitness journey with @smartfitnessuae and successfully achieved the certification of Level 3 Personal Fitness Trainer by a renowned UK accredited organization, @activeiq 💪 - I have cried happy tears multiple times today because this milestone meant a lot to me. I always had a passion for staying fit and active but I struggled terribly with my fitness level and pregnancy weight loss after Zayer’s birth, it was extremely frustrating and depresssing at the same time. - Then last year, I decided to take control of my health and began working out again. I started seeing results that encouraged me to keep going further. I also started to regain my interest in fitness and decided to go for a proper fitness training certification. - That’s when I spoke with @asfitnessdubai and he encouraged me to join the Level 2 course which was literally starting the next day. I enrolled in the course, finished level 2 and straight ahead went into training for the advanced Level 3. I’m so glad I did it. - Aaron is by far the best Head Trainer, Coach, PT you will find in Dubai and I’m so proud that I got trained by the best of the best in the industry. This guy pushed me to my limits and made me realize that my actual physical limits are way beyond what my mind always told me. - Thanks to this guy, I lifted weights equal and more than my body weight, I ran faster than I ever ran and that too on incline. I have a become a fitter and stronger person because of his exceptional training and mentoring. - Today was our final judgement day. I passed my assessment with feedback that was beyond my expectations. Like seriously! - This is a huge personal milestone for me. I am so proud of myself for having aimed for something I only dreamt off and then putting my all into and seeing it right through to the end. - Ending my Oscar speech now and ima go celebrate but hey guess what? We can choose to focus on all of our flaws, insecurities and imperfections when we look into the mirror each day, or we can choose to focus on the work, the progress, improvement, change, and the beauty of our reflections. I choose to focus on the latter, because life's too short to not love yourself. To be honest, I absolutely did not feel like going to the gym this morning, I did not even feel like getting up. After a night of indulgences, a comedy show, how many glasses of wine (that's right, 3!!) #judgemenot ..and heavy Mexican food too, the last thing I wanted to do was to lift heavy stuff in the gym. I could have chosen to stay in bed, beat myself up about getting off track a little, or to drown myself in work, but instead I dragged my over-indulgent ass into the gym and put in some serious work! I used those carbs and sugars to have a hell of a workout, really pushed and challenged myself and in the process, also saw some awesome sweet smiling faces that motivated and inspired me. Making me realize that I have absolutely no excuses. Working out is just one of the ways that I practice self-care and self-love, and by not keeping my homework to myself and skipping out, I would be selling myself short and only cheating one person; Me. Don't sell yourself short. As Ed Mylett from #MaxOut says, by focusing on your wins you develop a level of self respect for yourself, as well as for. By keeping your word to yourself, you gain confidence and more self love and respect. So when you look into the mirror today, tell yourself all the things that you love and respect about yourself, and how you kept your word to yourself today, and how are you are looking forward to that greater version of yourself staring at back at you in the future! Just finished my newest culinary experiment of walnut pate' inspired by a video I saw recently with Dr. L.J. @natural.wellness.academy 🙌 Served with fresh chopped vegetables: bell peppers, squash and cucumbers. (I threw in some cashews and sunflower seeds too instead of only walnuts for a different texture and some extra flavor) I kind of made it my own recipe too with more fresh herbs and vegetables. No points lost for swinging the bat, right. This is one of my more interesting dinner and meal preps I've made so far. I read this recipe and a little recipe booklet by Beachbody and thought "hey I just have to try this one tonight.." And so I did. Try this instead of that. I was having a serious craving for popcorn! 🍿 Of course having braces this is a challenging obstacle, so instead of giving in to the buttery, high-carb goodness, I decided to make a healthy alternative.... Kale! #crunch That's right, it might not be buttery but damn it is good! (And super healthy too!) After recently eatching a health coach how to properly "massage kale" I decided to try it myself. I did not disappoint. Enjoy! Happy creating, happy fueling and Happy Healing, y'all. 🙏🙌❣️ 🥗 Kale popcorn: 🥗 1 med - large mixing bowl 🥗 5-6 cups fresh kale (washed) {I like to break it up into smaller pieces to make it easier to eat} 🥗 1 tsp sea salt or Himalayan pink salt (I used 1/2 tsp of each) 🥗 1 tbs avocado oil 🥑 (or oil of choice) I also like to use Greek extra Virgin olive oil a lot too {You can infuse your own oil & herbs too, I'll do a post on that one too soon!} 🥗 1 tbs nutritional yeast (optional) if desiring a cheesy or tad bit of a nutty taste 🥗 Massage kale after washing gently and breaking up into small pieces 🥗 Add the oil drizzled in, salt, and yeast (if desired) and gently massage kale for a couple of minutes until all ingredients are mixed in equally. 🥗 You can also get really elaborate and creative with this and add other herbs or greens, dried cranberries, orange, 🍊citrus fruit,🍋chopped walnuts, hazelnuts or sliced almonds. Or anything that you like. Make it your own.#makeityou🥑 The next time you have a buttery, salty or cheesy craving you can't seem to shake, maybe consider this healthy alternative. Breakfast. Start your day off right (and guilt free) with some smart fuel loaded with antioxidants, protein, potassium, fiber and healthy fats. This is seriously one of my go-to breakfast options when I'm busy.
