I know that you sent me only this question but I'm going to answer all of them because I really want to about him (forgive me anon 😭🙏)

My first impression

"Goddamn he's hot"

He also really gave me vibes of authority and power. A figure that commands respect wherever he goes. Especially with how he could silence a room with just one word.

My impression now

ONE OF THE BEST FICTIONAL CHARACTERS EVER WRITTEN. Period.

Favorite thing about that character

His determination. The fact that he doesn't give up no matter the obstacles or the years in front of him.

Least favorite thing

I really love him and I don't have many things that annoy me in him. Except maybe his grumpiness. When he constantly did that in RoW it annoyed me at times. I understand why he was like that but still.

Favorite line/scene

“Blue sky. Once more... Speak my name once more.... Don't let me be alone.”

Aka. his last words.

Favorite scene for him as a character has to be the tent scene in S&B. The extent of vulnerability he showed there is immense but most people don't get it because they're influenced by Alina's "Oh it's just an act" viewpoint of him.

I wanted more scenes of them together. Him interacting with one of his siblings was so immensely interesting for me. Again, he showed much vulnerability and he himself didn't realize it.

Jareth from "The Labyrinth" (but without the make up, that hair and the singing part) although that's kind of a cheat because Aleksander was based on him.

Sebastian Morgenstern from "The Mortal Instruments". There are literally so many similarities.

- They were also both raised in isolation in a way.

- They were both suffering from loneliness and wanted love and company.

- They were both obsessed with a certain girl and wanted to get her.

- They both offered a throne to that girl.

- They both were jealous of the boy their girl was interested in.

- Their girl pretended at some point that they were on their side.

- They were both stabbed in the heart by that girl and killed.

(But for those who don't know make no mistake. Sebastian makes Aleksander seem like an innocent puppy. Since the former was actually obsessed with his sister and even tried to rape her💀)

Ooooooh you asked me to spill the tea!

Thank you for asking about the elves, I'm glad they can rest together hating on each other in this ask. uwu

Sera:

First impression: *starts singing Anarchy in the UK* Beside that, I didn't like her all that much at first. I liked her points of view, but playing as a Lavellan... At first it was a "Yeah but why you're so hostile". She grew on me like moss.

Impression now: I love her your honour, she's such a nuanced and complex characters, and with Dorian one of the most caring people around Inquisition, if you spend the time to build a good relationship with her. Her point of views on politics are genuinely good and much more rooted in reality than Solas' (for obvious reasons)

Favorite moment: Her whole set of reactions in Trespasser. The way she notices Inky is feeling all but well but still does her best to cheer them up and remind them that there is an after that they can shape how they want, she's there to help. The way she's genuinely worried sick for you and is there to help... It was the moment she became a ride or die for me. Also all her banters with Dorian. All of it.

Idea for a story: Anything expanding what we see of her character, really. Anything. Little things, her learning to cope and interact with an Inquisitor who is a mage and/or a Dalish, she spending time with the Chargers and finding the family she always lacked. Cookies experiments. Flirting with Dagna. Anything. Some expansion over her War Table mission and having Cullen saying "Do you know what, I'll do it. I'll send soldiers to hold drills as loud as possible under that noble's windows. Yes.".

Unpopular opinion: She's one of the most emotionally intelligent characters around. She is closed and abrasive, sure, but show her you care and are sincerely interested in having some kind of relationship with her and BOOM. Don't know how unpopular it is tho, LOL. And: she and Solas could actually get along and have more similar opinions that they would admit. It's just that Solas is not a people person (he's 24/7 screaming internally, there's no mental space for much else) and approaches her in the wrong way.

Favorite relationship: I'll say three. She and Dorian gives me life, you see the prince and the pauper going on and learning to live together and finding points in commons and enjoying each other's company. She and Cullen. I am sure Cullen is the one who has the most fun in the Red Jenny missions (not that he will admit it), and they are both commoners and simple people at heart. She sees right through the hard shell of pretending he's a serious knight of course no no he's the expert here, uh-uh. He's totally at level with the other advisors. She is there to take him down a notch. Also. She and Solas. Listen. They share quite some opinions. Sera is more rooted in the actual reality of things, while Solas just has theoretical knowledge. They say the same things and have a lot of things in common (both are solidly against the establishment, both renounced to position of richness to just go and play hobo, both are artists and imaginative. He's a marxist, she's an anarchist, but as above: she's rooted in reality, he isn't). Solas just chose the wrong way to approach her and doesn't know how to fix it, and she's not making a step towards him either.

Favorite headcanon: She's the little girl that got the painted box from the Warden in Denerim.

Solas:

First impression: I was heavily influenced by @karmicblackhole, who is the friend that brought me into the saga and my number one Solas authority. So I got to know him in theory before and came knowing who he is exactly. I was curious when I first play to see him finally in game.

Impression now: I like his character A LOT. Wouldn't romance him, I recognise the fascination but personally there's a "You're not like other girls" theme that is really not my cup of tea. Again, if you're not here from 5 minutes you all know I love him as a platonical friend figure, I love his character and I'm firmly convinced he may be your local trickster and obscure character... But a villain? Evil? No. Not at all. Man is going on of pure inertia screaming internally. And also he's the worst liar around Skyhold. Worst of them all. I sniffed there was something weird with Blackwall, but at least Blackwall doesn't let slip things about his past that don't add up with the story he told you and disapproves when you call him out.

Favorite moment: The last cutscene pre final battle when he's there panicking and asking you advices about how to deal with horrible mistakes. The façade cracks a little and he's just... A scared person not knowing how to fix his mess. Also the way he treats you in Trespasser if you had a positive relationship with him during the game. He's a cuor di panna, he's very tender, he's just so horribly bad at people.

Idea for a story: I am pondering from months on a short ficlet about him going back to watch the Inquisitor as time goes by. Because yes he may be resolved... But he's bad at plans. Also DadWolf, but I'm drawing/writing it. Basically, anything that lets him find something he may use to stop running in circles in guilt and self-commiseration and learn that hey, it went how it went that's ok.

Unpopular opinion: He's not a villain and he's not evil. I can see why people think of that and he's in that grey zone that's grey enough that he can easily fall in both parts... But in my opinion he's not. He's just panicking HARD and starved for human contact. Again, I can see why people treat him as a villain... But I think we saw him only up to the middle of his narrative arc. It would be like judging Cullen stopping at DA2 before the final battle and the mutiny. You can but we're all missing the second half of it. I may be wrong in my opinions and I read some great fics that has him as the villain. He could double, again, I just like to think that people are fundamentally good.

Favorite relationship: As above. Him and Sera. Him and Varric co-parenting Cole gives me life. I recently brought him on a mission with Blackwall and they had the funniest banter ever, BOTH sweating profusely and lying. x°D

Favorite headcanon: He's a huge softie and hugely touch starved and it will take very little to bring him back to the good side. Also, I'd love to see him... Doing something to the Veil and actually making elves mages. Also, he's a terrible hugger, but will appreciate being hugged greatly.

Gotta be honest, once I get into a fandom I will leave the main tags as soon as I find my niche and a group of blogs to follow and a few Discord servers to join, and not venture out into the main fandom again. Idk what's popular. I have complained about many takes, but I am also very forgetful so.... Uh, Vox is asexual, Alastor is actually a terrible person (affectionate), Valentino absolutely has a tragic backstory (and is still so evil <3 ), Velvette is literally The Worst and kinda a pick-me girl (I love her), Charlie doesn't understand how to help people and it is detrimental to the people she's trying to help (I also love her). Carmilla is so ridiculous and I don't understand shipping her with Velvette. I don't get Husk (derogatory, but only slightly and mostly in a 'I don't think his writing was consistent, and he was used - as many characters on this series were - as more of a plot device than a complete character in his own right. His dialogue was thrown in to tell-not-show aspects of other characters in a way that felt inorganic to me, which turned me off of his character almost completely' way). Boom, there, so many unpopular opinions <3

Velvette is so connected to phones and apps and things of that modern tech nature. Therefore: Velvette also broadcasts and recieves radio waves, but only those in the Bluetooth spectrum. She can AirDrop memes onto Vox's face (or, in canon, call his TV head directly, bypassing his phone). Vox is so absolutely not replacing the quiet ease he and Alastor used to share with their similar thinking/perceiving/broadcasting methods (it's alll radio waves) with Velvette. Totally. Totally. His past relationships would never~ cloud how he treats her.

❄️ ⇢ what's your dream theme/plot for a fic, and who would write it best?

Well first of all Me I'm writing it!! So incredibly slowly and badly, but I am writing it nonetheless 😤 I actually have two or three or a dozen ideal dream ideas rattling around in my brain. Obviously, my beloved Damaged Nerve where I throw 20 ideas I enjoy together into one fic (or at least talk about doing that bc. I am always getting distracted instead of updating it). Service shark Vark!!! The VoxVal non-consenual consensual non-consent (it makes sense to me)! Velvette!! Vox killing angels with his bare hands! And getting an arm and half his head cut off (he gets better immediately bc he is all easily replaceable parts)! Charlie and Vaggie watching a Sinner attacking Exorcists right before Charlie was supposed to present her rehabilitation project and having to defend ideas, which is suddenly made even more difficult for her because now it looks like Overlords are planning to fight back against the Exterminations, and he didn't win but neither did the angels, so maybe Hell can fight back against Heaven (wasn't that why the Exterminations happen? Because Heaven is afraid of them uprising? Well, maybe they should be afraid...) Vaggie fallen angel feelings (those were her sisters and she's so bitter about them and she's so scared for them)! The timeline of Exterminations being moved up and Vox getting blamed for it! (Sinners who were previously excited about what he did turn against him bc of the backlash from Heaven and from other Sinners.) Carmilla hating the Vees! Inane and uniformed, smug wannabes! (She still killed an Exorcist for real tho, and Vox only wounded the ones he fought. She thinks she's better than him because she fought to protect the people she loves. Vox literally also did that, except it wasn't people it was a shark. She'd hate that too.) VoxVal horrible terrible no good very unhealthy relationship! VoxValVel also horrible relationship <3 They love each other, they can't live without each other <3 None of them are allowed to leave this ship, even when it's sinking <3 Vox won't lose a partner again; no one else can leave him like Alastor did.

But right now I've been working on a Vox & The Vees-centric rape recovery (or, well, there's not much recovery happening yet. It is just a long and drawn out breakdown where they madly scramble to resecure their power and influence and become more powerful so no one can ever hurt any of them again, and become so codependent) fic and it is everything to me and I do not have it really plotted out, I just have so many Thoughts and vaguely connected scenes for it that I bother people on discord with (hi to any people on discord reading this. Thank u for listening <3 )

Also I am (thanks to your ask about Vox's biology from earlier), daydreaming about a fic I have lovingly named Planned Obsolescence (tho I'm gonna have to make sure no one's taken that title yet) about Vox upgrading himself and upgrading himself and upgrading himself and he can never stay satisfied because the world marches on and he has to march with it, he can't be left behind because he needs to be the one innovating and leading. And upgrading himself.

Look I'm looking for things that are so specific that if a fic looks like it might be somewhat about what I want, I'll read it. I will click away if you call Alastor a w*ndigo tho.

Wait I thought of something else and then this next part got long and it's also about rape, so I'm throwing it behind a read more

Also!! Holy fuck I just remembered but I've run into it twice now. The Implication that rape is worse when it happens to someone who is already sex repulsed. Like specifically in these scenarios the rape was not a punishment not an attempt at corrective rape. Like, that I would get, actually, if the motivation itself was a hate crime, which adds a whole other dimension to worry about. But, no. That wasn't. I can't even articulate the poor taste it left in my mouth, it's just. Why would you make a character more horrified to learn their friend was raped after they also learned that their friend is ace? "He never would have wanted it-" hello?????? Yeah! That's why it's called rape????

(But also - while I do absolutely love reading about sex repulsed aro/ace characters (lol they're so me) - oftentimes a big part of what I am looking for in a story about rape recovery is a character struggling with the fact that their body did "enjoy" the physical sensation. That sex is supposed to happen with someone you love/are attracted to/trust, and this was a perversion of it, and it fucks up how you view future sexual relationships.) (And like, the physical sensation being pleasurable while your mind feels only disgust and repulsed is. An aspect that I feel like many can relate to, not only sex repulsed aces. Unless I'm projecting??) (Of course, recovery from the perspective of a character who was sex repulsed and remains so is also so so good.) (In general, it's a topic that needs to be portrayed with a kind of nuance and understanding that is often hard for an author to find the right words for. I'm sure I've even written thing poorly here, and inevitably said something that will be hurtful to a person with a different perspective than my own. Sorry! But such is the reality of everyone being individuals, unfortunately. The things that bring some people comfort will cause other people distress.)

Unpopular opinion(I think?): The V3 cast is dumb as fuck.(SPOILERS AHEAD)

Ok, so don't get me wrong, these people do have their smart moments, but said moment are so overshadowed by their general stupidity to the point it's a bit painful to watch. These people could've literally figured out the mastermind by the first half of the game, either:

- before the first death

- during the first trial

- during the second trial

Here I will explain each one of the cases of finding the mastermind, having as basis the the mastermind is also a participant in the killing game:

A. Before the first trial:

Something that we know from the start is that the mastermind wants us to kill each other. So let's "give" them a death.

First we'll figure out possible victims, the most obvious pick being Rantaro Amami, since for someone who is talked about as one of the smartest people in the building my man has made some of the dumbest mistakes you can make in a killing game:

a. he is always alone, making himself easy prey

b. he has nothing on him, leaving himself defenseless

c. In cannon he followed the flashlight produced by the camera without thinking that maybe "Hey, this could be a trap!"

Now that we know the "victim", it should go as follows:

→we think of a trap that in theory should kill him(as example we will use Kaede's)

→we make it look as if someone is planting a trap, making it unable of actually killing Rantaroand

→we make sure that he doesn't die before the plan gets into action, which we can do by stalking him for a bit(stalking is wrong, but since this is a killing game I would say it is excuseable).

Once he gets into the library and his attention is caught by the camera we'll only have to stay in position, most importantly we need to stay in blind spots of the cameras in case the mastermind wants to check the perimeter, positioning us in opposite sides of the room if possible.

Since the mastermind has to make sure that there is one death before time runs out, they will use the trap we made as an alibi and go for the kill. Wherever Rantaro dies or not in this part doesn't really matter, cause' we will be able to find out the mastermind and catch them before they flee.

B. During the first trial:

Ok, so let's say that we didn't think about plan A and that Rantaro dies from the mastermind's shotput ball.

I have absolutely no ideea how these bitches didn't connect the dots, but I'll do it for them:

• the moving door(since for some reason Kaede though that it's useless information)

• the way blood was splattered over Rantaro and the way he was laying on the ground(because those details should indicate that Rantaro tried to defend himself, which he wouldn't be able to do if he would've been killed by Kaede's trap)

• the mastermind being the only person that didn't show up with the rest of the group when the body was discovered

• the mastermind generally acting weird

(BECAUSE WHY THE FUCK ARE YOU ACTING LIKE NAGITO FUCKING KOMAEDA, YOU ARE LITERALLY PUTTING THE SUSPICIOUS SPOTLIGHT ON YOU, I MEAN WHY THE FUCK WOULD THERE BE SOMEONE "PLAIN" IN A GROUP OF EARTH'S MOST TALENTED PEOPLE????? AND I DON'T TALK ABOUT YOU CALLING YOURSELF PLAIN BUT THE WAY YOU LOOK AND ACT ASWELL???? LIKE YOU ARE PRETTY PLAIN BUT THAT DOESN'T HELP YOUR GODDAMN CASE)

This should be enough proof that the mastermind's a little bitch.

C. During the second trial

Let's say that we're dumb enough to doom Kaede and boom: second chapter babey.

Now you all are probably wondering: "How could Ryoma's death uncover the mastermind?"

Well the answer is: it can't. That's why Ryoma doesn't die in this chapter: because we are going to fake a death.

Whoever is reading this probably thinks I'm tripping balls at this point, but that's where you're wrong, for we have the best candidates right in front of our very eyes: Angie and Korekiyo.

Something that a corpse should have is low temperature and no heartbeat, things that Angie should be able to replicate.

Now I am sure that you are asking

"How the fuck would Angie be able to get rid of her heartbeat and body temperature???"

Well that is actually pretty simple:

1. A cold bath can get Angie to rather low temperatures to the point you would be able to think "HOLY SHIT ANGIE NOooooo"

2. When it comes to heartbeat things get interesting. All we have to do is get Angie's heartrate low enough so that we can make Monokuma *think* that she died. This is the part that *only* Angie is able to do as she has a big adventage: she prays(or mostly meditates).

I'm not saying that Atua will be able to lower her heartrate(although by the freaky shit she's been able to do I don't deny something like that wouldn't be possible). A fun fact about meditation is that it should be able to get her in a state where her heartbeat would be really low, low enough to fool Monokuma(because I don't think the bear puts on a lil' doctor suit and uses his teeny tiny equipment to cutely check corpses)

NOW we get to actual planning:

Something that we've seen was that Saihara was quickly able to get over Kaede's death, therefore he is giving himself enough time to start thinking of a plan to fake said death.

First things first, he should look for the blind spots of the cameras, then he should talk with Angie and Korekiyo (privately with each one of them) and convice them to take part in his plan.

The night the plan is put in function should go like this:

→Angie takes a cold shower just before she goes to "take candles for her ritual"

→Korekiyo goes to cut some wood for his "kill" and meets up with Angie

→Kiyo bonks Angie with the plank, enough so that it seems as if she fell unconscious(but this is all theatrics)

→Korekiyo carries Angie, heading for her lab, but once he reaches the camera's blind spot he "trips" and wispers to Angie to get ready

→Kiyo continues to carry Angie to her lab

→Kiyo fakes killing Angie with a knife, only cutting her throat a bit so that she bleeds

→Kiyo puts up the whole room decor

→Kiyo leaves

→The "body" is discovered the next day

→The trial starts

The reason why I think this plan is good is because:

1. Kiyo can't betray Shuichi because then Shuichi will be able to tell everyone about what Kiyo did (and everyone trusts Succi Sahara so Kork instanly gets executed+ Kiyo only kills women so getting rid of Shuichi ism't an option)

2. Angie should be safe since Monokuma will be paying attention to the trial (Monokuma shouldn't be able to get rid of Angie's body since without Tenko's death he wouldn't have enough time)

Now all Shuichi has to do is play dumb so that the mastermind will have to take the lead of this case, making them fall right into the trap as the mastermind will have to come with proper arguments in order to make people believe that Kiyo is the culprit since they wouldn't be able to reply with just "Kork is being such a sussy baka right now!" (said aeguments only knows by someone who would be able to look on the cameras). This was the reason I chose Kiyo as the culprit. He is so suspicious all the time that telling the group how suspicious he is makes you look desperate, leading the group to think that you are trying to frame him.

BOOM: Mastermind found. It doesn't take a goddamn genius to think of this.

On one hand, thank you so much for asking me about Sonic, it's like everyone forgot about my main fandom :(

On the other... why tho.

the character everyone gets wrong

Shadow, easy. Sonic and Eggman too... and Amy... and Tails... yeah pretty much everyone... but poor Shadow is the unfortunate victim of being hugely popular and hugely misunderstood due to inane takes that spread like wildfire.

Shadow is not an edgy boy (okay his game pushes it). Shadow is not a poow widdle blorbo who only needs to cry. Shadow did not suffer like a dog on the ARK. Shadow is not "Vegeta". Shadow does not monologue about who he is and what he thinks (neither does Sonic btw, coughcoughidwcough). There should be a law that you cannot analyze Shadow's character if you haven't at least read his script in Sonic Battle.

Among all, I get the urge to stab myself in the spleen every time I read something about Muh Mandates and Sonic Should Be Allowed to Cry and Eggman is Such A Good Dad to Sage. Or the majority of posts gushing about IDW, especially if the topic is Sonic's Principles :^)

Sonadow, one of the main reasons it annoys me so much. Although some Sonamy fans push it, and I like that ship.

7) what character did you begin to hate not because of canon but because how how the fandom acts about them?

Well, I used to dislike Shadow precisely due to his popularity, but nowadays I've warmed up to the guy. He's cool. Just... I don't get the hype.

I guess Surge is a better example. She's very annoying in canon, but what really ruins her is the amount of adoration she garnered. Y'all like her simply for the aesthetic, I checked, because she has a pitiful amount of fanfictions that actual star her as a character. (one of them is mine, and I don't even like her. Just sayin'.)

Oh, and I will never be objective about Sage. Sorry. She's bland and on her own inoffensive, but her association with Eggdad ruined her for me.

8) common fandom opinion that everyone is wrong about

That ShTH is a bad game >:( it's funny y'all are just mean.

Again, I can't choose. This fandom has just... so many Takes. I guess I'll go with "Shadow was turned into Vegeta", which is... factually untrue, outside of the Boom series.

9) worst part of canon

Can't choose, honestly. Maybe splitting Classic Sonic into a different character, instead of simply keeping him an older design for Sonic. Boy, the discourse that it caused...

12) the unpopular character that you actually like and why more people should like them

Hmm. To be fair I mostly like popular characters. I'd say that now I like Elise much more than I used to, but then again she's becoming more popular. So... Infinite, maybe? I like the dude, he's both cool and pathetic and I have no idea how he manages to do that. Sick theme too. And he's voiced by Liam O'Brien and his horniness for violence shows :'D

And you know what? Zor. Zor is the funniest of the Deadly Six. He's self aware and that elevates him. Y'all are too mean to the Deadly Six in general, but Zor is the one who deserves it less.

7. do you prefer cds, streaming, or vinyl?

I actually have a very complex answer to this lol...I definitely always prefer physical media over streaming but I am also a hypocrite who loves the convenience and portability of streaming so I still have an apple music account and use it almost every day. That being said, there are some albums that are just MADE to be listened to on vinyl and I am very proud of my vintage vinyl collection and very sad I had to leave 98% of it at my parents house bc I just recently moved to Europe. (for example, one of my most unpopular opinions is that I actually like the wall of sound production on ATMP, but I also think it sounds so much better on my original press vinyl than it does on streaming, so that makes me wonder if the medium people are listening to 60s/70s albums on are influencing their opinions on them, particularly on their sound and production). On the other hand, I have mixed feelings about the current vinyl boom bc while buying physical media is always good, in my experience a lot of these new albums that often come out with multiple limited edition vinyls (ex. taylor swift) are 1) not produced in a way to sound the best on vinyl since everything is done digitally these days, and 2) the actual quality of vinyl presses has gone down SO much even in just the past 5 years that a lot of these new releases and even new presses of older albums just sound shitty or have skip problems right out of the package. Seriously, I started buying vinyl around 2014 and I never had these types of problems with brand new presses until the last 3 years or so. So in that case, now if I really like a new release album enough to buy a physical copy of it and I think the production style won't translate as well on vinyl and/or I don't trust the company that does the vinyl pressings for the artist I'll buy it on CD instead!

It's impossible for me to choose a definitive favorite artist but I am deep into a Bob Dylan phase rn because my life is very stressful and uncertain atm and his whiny singing and blaring harmonica always relaxes me lmao. so I guess we'll go with that. I first discovered bob in high school when I listened to "like a rolling stone" and it literally altered my brain chemistry. so I always loved that song and a few others here and there but never really did a deep dive on him (I think I tried to listen to highway 61 revisited and blonde on blonde and didn't really Get It at the time) but about a year ago I started listening to Joan Baez and I fell in love with her and her bob covers, and I was like okay maybe I'll give him another shot and then weirdly enough I stumbled across "shelter from the storm" after rewatching jerry maguire dkfsjkdf and listened to all of blood on the tracks and the rest is history <3

Trying to put him in a canon relationship with anyone is, imo, detrimental to his character. I don't wanna elaborate too much on that bc I know putting him in relationships is fun, I do it too on occasion. I just think this recent attempt of making his canon relationships with his friends more "mature" therefore "romantic" (read: him and Amy in Frontiers and Boom) is not only upsetting to me as an aroace person (maturing doesn't automatically equate to falling in love) but also goes against his original conception from CD.

New thread for Eccleston!Doctor.

Warning: Rose is not one of my favourite characters so be aware I do get critcial.

Episode: Rose - Not a bad start to the new era. Some parts are way too serious and others are beyond ridiculous - so no change there then. Eccleston!Doctor is a good mix of fun and bastard.

Episode: The End of the World - I enjoyed the beginning and the end. There are times I think Rose is lovely and times I think she's insufferable. I think it works better if you treat the first two episodes as one long story.

Episode: The Unquiet Dead - A great, spooky ghost story with all round excellent performances from the whole cast. I like Rose in this one and not entirely because of the pretty dress.

Episode: Aliens of London / World War Three - I do love Jackie. She would have made a fantastic companion. Eccleston!Doctor is a complete bastard in this one. Penelope Wilton is way too good for this. Mickey and Jackie are the best things about this episode.

Episode: Dalek - I enjoyed the Dalek having to come to terms with emotion and choosing to stay true to its Dalekness. I don't really like the whole "last time lord" thing. The whole time war leaves me cold.

Episode: The Long Game - Anna Maxwelll Martin <3 I love her. The rest is a bit boring. Adam is as pointless as Kamelion.

Episode: Father's Day - I liked this one, mostly Shaun Dingwell and Camille Coduri. I don't for a second believe the Doctor would take anyone to watch their dad dying no matter how much they begged.

Episode: The Empty Child - The best episode of the season. A great balance of creepy and funny, excellent introduction for Jack. Nancy is incredible. No notes.

Episode: The Doctor Dances - I think what I like most about this is that there isn't a bad guy. It's a lovely story with a wonderful ending.

Episode: Boom Town - I can do without this love triangle (quuntangle?) stuff. I can also do without the Slitheen in general.

Episode: Bad Wolf - There is a quote in The West Wing that goes "When you use pop-culture references, your speech has a shelf life of twelve minutes." It's hard not to think of that when watching this. Outside of the games it's a lot better. Yay the Daleks are back!

Episode: The Parting of the Ways - "The Oncoming Storm" - please wait while I collect my eyeballs, they rolled right out of my head. I really did like Lynda; I wish we could have kept her. And so this is another story where the Doctor ends up doing not much in the end, except regenerating. Hello, Tennant!Doctor.

Eccleston!Doctor Era Round-up

I have a lot of issues with the Time War and wiping out the Time Lords - there's a lot more scope for stuff to do with them around after all. Unpopular fandom opinion time:

I don't like Rose Tyler.

I remember being pretty pleased with her when I watched the first new episode back in 2005 but that quickly disappeared. It's not Billie Piper's fault - she's a good actress and I loved her in the 50th. I've spent a long time wondering why I dislike her as much as I do, when I don't dislike any of the other New Who companions.

And, I think it comes down to the amount of importance the show itself places on her. In 60 years of Doctor Who, no companion was more or less important than any of the others, from the programme's own perspective. They come and they go - maybe the public loves them or hates them - but to the show and the Doctor, they are all the most important person. The Doctor doesn't love Jo more than Sarah Jane or Romana more than Adric. They all have different relationships - some are closer than others, but none are invaluable.

Which comes from the nature of the show itself. Doctor Who is based on a premise of change. Companions come and go. The Doctor and the Master regenerate. It can go on forever because that was written into it's lore from the first time someone wanted to leave.

For me personally, this makes it difficult to take romantic relationships between a being hundreds or thousands of years old and humanoids that live a hundred at most, seriously. Because as soon as you start saying "the Doctor is in love with this person" where do you go? They can't stay together forever, the companion will eventually have to leave and the Doctor will eventually have to regenerate.

That's not to say that I don't ship the Doctor with anyone - I do, with several different characters, I've commented on them in my posts - but it's something that for me works better in fanfiction than on screen.

Because I don't want love triangles where the Doctor gazes moonily at his companion when she goes to have dinner with her boyfriend. I don't want the Doctor treating his next companion like shit because he's still heartbroken over the last one.

So, try as I might, I can't like Rose Tyler, because to me she's not the most important character in the history of Doctor Who and the show's insistence that she is just makes my dislike everything about it.

ok take two of the dumb thoughts i had about all stars all winners lmaooo

ok, so the finale was eh. jinkx had the best track record, but based on the lipsyncs, i thought monet was winning. yvie did really well too. the songs were mostly good except for the last one lmao

most of the lipsyncs this season were not good ngl. the best one was the first one. better in color was funny to watch. viv did well in all hers. i wish yvie actually won something. eh. super freak was also good.

unpopular opinion but the supernova lipsync this season was not as good as the ukvstw one. i liked blu's cracked out energy. i don't see supernova as a sexy song either so eh. but i love that song.

idk. monet picked up the pace at the end of the season so i could've seen her winning. i think jinkx truly is the queen of comedy, but id say monet is versatile all around (she made some amazing garments this time around and jinkx...had one she made be alright lol).

also the variety show was not that good. legit 5 people did a bitch track + dance. jinkx did live singing and then raja's indonesian dancing and monet's opera were everything. i added her track to my work playlist lmao.

idk. i wish the variety show would have more variety. it's legit usually mostly bitch tracks, then 1 person does burlesque (which usually is good), a few live singers, then some dance number maybe and then there's something interesting/new (cultural dance, musical instrument, etc.). idk if i was ever a drag race contestant who had to do an all stars season, i'd just do an ocarina cover of a rupaul song cuz i think it'd be funny (and on brand)

the lipsyncs this season are not it. the songs all kind of suck. the last one (fierce vs. chelazon) was the best one thus far. idk, but s1 and 2 gave us 3 bops in a row w their first 3 eps (we got carly rae, deborah cox, and if you could read my mind then s2 we had maneater, stupid sh*t, and ghost. synthia kiss's "i love myself today" lives in my head rent free (so does rita baga "you oughta know"). in general, s1 all the lipsyncs were amazing lmao. yeah

cdr3 feels weird. i feel by current edit, jada shada hudson might win, but kimmy and lady boom boom also have wins. i feel like lady boom boom might get cut during snatch game or an improv challenge (or she'll lipsync and destroy some fuckers idk). kimmy i feel will make it to top 5 or 6 before getting cut. but she has the connection (being icesis's drag daughter, also drag race is aware of the filipino curse happening the past few seasons (stephanie broke it...but then got cut the following week rip))

i think they might be going for a comedy winner this season considering who they have and their last winners were a south asian confessional queen and then a latina fashion queen.

jada has a storyline. fiercalicious has a storyline. i thought they were gonna keep halal bae over moço bcuz she has a drag daughter in the competition (bombae) but alas. i was most excited for halal bae too, but alas. she was crazy during that lipsync lmao. but i mean, bombae has somewhat of a storyline now.

i feel like fiercalicious is currently getting a villain edit or at least a "difficult to work w" edit. i am not enjoying her. she was literally praised for being skinny and that's it lmao. i think she might get a lip sync assassin edit also.

The Mandates

Just wanted to share my thoughts on the pro-ported mandates because they cast a shadow on this comic.

“Game characters cannot have relatives unless they were estabilished in the game canon, i.e. Cream and her mother.”

This one is understandable and you can blame Penders for this. Mind you that most licensed comics of gaming franchises don’t actually delve too much in personal family relationships or expand on them. So this is expected and honestly Sega should have put the screws on Archie decades ago about this.

“Game characters can not die. There are workarounds for this, such as being Mistaken for Dying or "Mistaken For Dead”

Again. Yes. Not a big deal.

“Game characters cannot have wardrobe changes unless approved. Chao Races and Badnik Bases has some characters (mainly the female game characters) wear different clothes for extreme conditions. Male characters remain the same.”

This is a useless rule but whatever. I mean Sega, you are the ones putting bad wardrobe choices on the characters so again it’s whatever.

“Sonic can't be shown getting too emotional (i.e;cry)”

This is one that it complained about because it really wouldn’t matter unless it is called attention to. A lot of superheroes don’t cry. But that doesn’t prohibit them from expressing themselves. IDW Sonic has been sad. He has been pissed. He has been furious.

Is this not too emotional?

Is he not expressing himself appropriately?

I don’t even know why this is brought up. When in this comic has Sonic not been expressive or displaying the appropriate amount of emotion? When did Sonic needing to cry be necessary?

“Game characters cannot enter in a relationship.”

Oh GOD YES. Don’t threaten me with a good time.

“All major Character Development must be approved by SEGA.”

Yeah, of course. Let me remind you that Penders and Archie ruined any strand of trust Sega could have in comic media. They played loose at first and all of the sudden, they are involved in a lawsuit about characters in a Sonic comic that they didn’t even know about. They probably lost a video game business relationship because of it. If they want to be involved in the comics, fine. That means that they are now forced to World Build. They have to invest in it now and not just be like Lucas Films and let anybody do anything with their flagship title.

“Much like the post-reboot of the Archie comic, the words "Mobius" is banned—the planet is simply called "Sonic's World". Unlike the Post-Boot, which allowed the names "Mobian" and "Mobini", anything related to Mobius is banned in this comic.”

…Of course but how about you throw the writer’s a bone and I don’t know, name the fucking planet. If it is not Earth, give it a name.

“Sonic must always win at the end. Even if he and his friends are at the losing end in an overarching story (the Metal Virus arc, for example), they must come out on top when it concludes.”

I don’t even get this rule and the knee jerk hatred for it. Why even have it? Why even share the existence of this rule? Archie Sonic didn’t really lose too bad. It’s more on how you frame a victory. The fact of the matter is that Eggman is still actively trying to conquer the planet. Sonic stops him but Eggman still has control of land and has military installations all over.

This rule is offset by this. While Sonic can’t lose, Sonic can’t completely win.

“Characters and material from other licensed properties (Sonic the Comic, Sonic the Hedgehog (Archie Comics), Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic the Hedgehog (SatAM)', Sonic Underground, the OVA, Sonic X and the Paramount films cannot be used. This rule extends to characters and redesigns done by the current writers. The only exception is Sticks from Sonic Boom, and that's because she was created by SEGA themselves and showed up in non-Boom media, but any ideas regarding her use still need to be okayed by SEGA.”

First off I am glad that Sticks was spared by this rule and I look forward to her eventual inclusion. Second, again, this is not much of a big deal as it was expected. Sorry Freedom Fighter fans but honestly deal.

“Male characters, sans Eggman, can't wear pants, which was also a thing in the Post-Reboot, albeit never explicitly stated. The inverse is also true; female characters have to have some form of lower clothing.”

Okay this is a pedantic rule. It is so weird with how precise it is. Like…huh?

“Classic characters such as Mighty, Ray, Nack/Fang, Bean, and Bark won't appear in non-Classic issues, as Sega doesn't want Classic and Modern Sonic to mix.”

One of the most bullshit mandates fueled by the nostalgia boner fans created. Like this is stupid because Archie Modern Sonic has added more character and depth to all of these mentioned characters than any of the Sega Sonic games they appeared in which only amounts to 1 or 2 at most. Why neuter your own potential stories with this stupid limitation?

“According to Ian Flynn, a specific incident involving Shadow's characterization when he's exposed to the Zombot infection was written in a specific way because of Sega mandating that he be written as an "overconfident asshole rival" character, similar to Vegeta. He later followed up with an explanation that out of every character, Shadow has the most mandates and notes attached to how he's portrayed. According to the podcast, Sega says that Team Dark is no longer a thing. The three members are not a team and they have never worked for G.U.N.; Shadow also doesn't even consider them friends.”

This is my opinion is the worst rule. First it’s contradictory to the character Sega introduced us to. Stop trying to be like Dragon Ball for once and actually be your own thing. It’s one thing if we are changing it because Shadow was unpopular because of his personality. But no one likes this Shadow. People miss the somber but reserved Hedgehog that continued to fight in spite of the world betraying him. Hothead Shadow is a cheap Knuckles. And I don’t even understand why Shadow even has so many mandates when he wasn’t the most egregious offender. Knuckles was.

Also, Team Dark aren’t a thing and Shadow doesn’t even consider them to be his friends. First off that doesn’t even fly in your own games. Who outside of Sonic does Shadow interact the most? Rouge. They have teamed up and were a packaged duo since their inception. When Shadow appeared, Rouge appeared right next to him. If Rouge was in a game, so was Shadow.

Team Dark or just Rouge has fought alongside Shadow in every game they appeared in. Who else does Shadow talk to if not Rouge?

“Sega has stated to Flynn that only male hedgehogs are allowed to go Super with the Chaos Emeralds.”

Except in Sonic Mania.

“Ian isn't allowed to directly reference a game, since the comic is supposed to be its own thing.”

Okay. Not only is this rule stupid. But it’s untrue.

This references the end of Sonic Forces.

It has referenced Sonic Adventure, SA2, Sonic Generations , and Sonic Unleashed.

This referencing Shadow the Hedgehog.

I don’t believe this rule exists and even if it did, it is dumbest rule since the whole point of this comic is to base it off the games more. The dumbest rule.

“Knuckles is not allowed to leave Angel Island unless he has a very good reason to.”

For decades, people have complained that Knuckles routinely leaves the island. For decades. Now does this mean Sega is going to 1. Use Knuckles and 2. Amplify the importance of Angel Island and the Master Emerald? No. Again, this criticism should be levied at Sega because they often conveniently forget Knuckles purpose and just hand wave it instead of giving Knuckles more to do on the island like I don’t know, have other entities invested in attacking him.

In summary, here is what I think is going on. Do I think most of these mandates are real? Yes. Given what happened to Archie, I do think Sega is doing some brand alignment. I think they got the clamps on.

But what I think is going on is a Japanese cultural thing called Power Harassment. It is normalized abuse of power. Sega of Japan is normally laxxed about their brands. They don’t mind blatant rip-offs of their mascot nor do they get stiff about fandom creations or mods. The comic division, however, is getting tough love because not only did it cost them a publishing deal, but ruined a relationship with a high end developer. So the IDW writers and staff are being subjected to intentionally hypocritical rules and strict mandates that they know don’t make sense until they’ve shown to be obedient.

A lot of the mandates aren’t strict. But some are so asinine that I don’t think they aren’t aware with how stupid they sound imposing those rules. Like Shadow is the most narratively complete Sonic character and yet, Sega puts this tight mandate as if Archie Shadow was the most egregious thing. Archie Shadow was overpowered. He wasn’t out of character like Sonic, Knuckles, and Tails were. They can’t be that stupid or be that intentionally dense. So they want to see if the writing crew can follow orders. That’s it.

📺 Favorite TV show?

The Boom cartoon, which I guess is a very unpopular opinion 😂 it has a very strenuous relation to the series, but at the time I thought it was funny, and it's what IMO allowed the modern voice cast to evolve.

If you're wondering why I didn't go for Sonic X, I watched it both when it aired and in middle school in Japanese, and I remember not being particularly impressed beyond the novelty of a "cartoon" based on my new favorite series - the first season is formulaic and it rarely focuses on Sonic, and the second season is a somewhat shallow adaptation of the Adventure games + Battle (as an avid SA1 fan, yeah I felt the difference). Never watched S3 lol

(I'm not counting the OVA because it wasn't a TV show per se)

I tend to like either big, broad levels, or fast levels where you can just nyoom through. (as for the ShTH levels, Circus Park has my favorite "collect X Rings" mission ever, and in Air Fleet you can shoot to your heart's content <3)

🙈 Least favorite Sonic game?

Sonic Labyrinth, but saying that feels like shooting at the Red Cross lmao

Of the "main" games, Sonic Advance 2 is the most irritating and poorly-thought out for me. It's the only game I went from loving to disliking in my lifetime. I know it's a game meant to be mastered, but it just feels so... empty to me, and it lacks what I love in Advance 3 instead.

One thing I wish could happen/had happened with this character in canon: give him a REST,,,,,, every time this dude has had a moment to chill out in hl2 BOOM combine show up [bm:e] and the end scene of hl2:ep2 ]]% also he needs more hugs than the "Thank God ur alive" hug from alyx, he's been through. So much

My Top 5 Unpopular Sonic Opinions

Greetings, mortals! Today, I'll be doing a list of my top five unpopular Sonic opinions.

Please keep in mind, this is MY OPINION! You don't need to agree with it, but please don't complain in the comments section if you disagree with this list.

Anyway, let us begin! ^^

5. Shadow the Hedgehog (2005) and Sonic the Hedgehog (2006) Are My Two Favorite Sonic Games

Yes, you read that correctly. I unironically love ShTH and Sonic 06. They are two of the most overhated and underrated games in my opinion. I played both of these games a lot as a kid, and I thoroughly enjoyed them. Their storylines are two of my favorites in the entire series, alongside SA2, Unleashed and Black Knight.

Also, both their soundtracks kick ass 😎

4. Black Doom is THE Best Sonic Villain

As I'm sure many of you know, I LOVE Black Doom. He's a great villain with a motive that actually makes sense. In my eyes, he is THE best villain in the entire Sonic franchise, far surpassing the likes of Dr. Eggman and Mephiles (although Mephiles is a great villain too, don't get me wrong)

3. I Prefer Modern Sonic (specifically the 1998-2009 iteration) Over Classic Sonic

Oh boy... The fanbase is going to break me for this one...

I find the Classic Era to be low-key overrated to be honest. Sure, the classic games themselves have charm, but at the time, the lore/continuity hadn't been properly established yet, and it seemed like nobody was on the same page.

Take the old DiC cartoons for example. There wasn't much to work with in terms of continuity at the time, so the writers basically had to make up their own interpretation of the series. And then there's the small minority of Classic Era elitists who overpraise the Genesis games to jawdropping extremes and think that every Sonic game after S3&K is trash (with the exception of Mania).

And don't even get me started on how much SEGA has been milking Classic Sonic in recent years...

Don't get me wrong, I don't think the classic games are bad by any means, they are enjoyable in their own right, but I always found the 3D Sonic games (specifically the Adventure/Dark Era titles) to be more enjoyable in terms of both narrative and gameplay.

2. The Meta Era Is The Worst Thing That Ever Happened To Sonic

I've already made an entire post a while back ago explaining in detail why I hate the Meta Era, so I'll keep it brief.

To me, the Meta Era feels like Sonic in name only. Sonic was originally created as the antithesis of Mario, but after SEGA hit the reboot button in 2010, he essentially became a Mario clone, which goes against EVERYTHING the Sonic franchise stands for. The Sonic games from 1991-2009 all had complex themes/messages, while the Meta Era games only cared about jokes, and really shitty jokes at that. When such stupid lines as "Baldy Nosehair" & "No copyright law in the universe is going to stop me" are considered the height of comedy, you know you're in for a shit show.

Speaking of....

1. Sonic Boom Is The Worst Sonic TV Series Ever Made

I've heard a surprising amount of people say that Sonic Boom is a one of the best animated Sonic shows, and I honestly don't know why.

What do people see in this lame ass show that turned almost all of the characters (ESPECIALLY Knuckles and Shadow) into complete jokes?! I know a lot of people praise the show for its "smart, witty, self aware" humor, but to me, most, if not all, of its attempts at humor usually fall flat on their face.

Maybe it's just because I'm not in the target demographic for this show, but I find the meta humor and the series as a whole to be cringeworthy and annoying more than anything. In my eyes, Sonic is meant to be a serialized, story driven franchise, not an episodic sitcom. The entire Sonic Boom branding is a negative stain on the Sonic franchise that I do not want Sonic to be remembered for. If you happen to like this show, that's fine, more power to you. It's just not my cup of tea, personally.

this fanbase is honestly so divided on absolutely everything that i think anything counts as an unpopular sonic opinion. i do not think i have any big groundbreaking opinions so ill just name a few normal tier ones

- i liked archie sonic a lot. i like idw too but archie is definitely my favorite

- i like sonic boom and the sonic boom designs. amy and tails is cute. knuckles has his own thing going on and i appreciate that. sonic could do with fixing his model and maybe giving him a different color bandana, but other than that i dont have any qualms with the designs. sonic boom my beloved

- i dont have the nostalgia factor that sonic fans who like this game have bc i only got into sonic last year but i do not like sonic generations all that much. no big reason i just dont think it looks great.

- the sonic r models are SO cute and i like watching my friends play it while they cry over how bad the controls are. sonic pitter patter

- people who find amy annoying for acting like a 12 year old girl even tho she is in fact a 12 year old girl will die by my hand

- fandom paints metal sonic and eggmans relationship too black and white. there are lots of instances where eggman shows caring over metal sonic but like also kind of treats him as replaceable and kinda sucky. metal sonic just always seems annoyed by him. there's some caring there. but not like. dad caring.
