#my mom would the revali in the relationship

How do you think a modern revalink dynamic would change (if at all) from like dating for a year or two vs. being married for several years? Your most recent post gave me brainworms, and I'm curious if your thoughts line up with mine!
HI IRI i hope you're enjoying the brainworms <3 i had to think about your actual question for a little bit because i got too excited at the idea of married revalink LMAO
tbh revalink being married kind of reminds me of my own parents, who have been married 20+ years, who bicker with each other all the time, but still act like every dinner is their first date because my dad is a sap. so in that sense, i feel like revali and link would still be utterly infatuated with one another, not in the puppy love way, but rather in a more evolved, mature way i guess? like revali will still be extremely fond of link and just how he is as a person, but after being married for 20+ years, he'll look up from his bowl of oatmeal at the breakfast nook to watch link wash the dishes in a tank top and boxers, and feel the urge to get up to hug link from behind. so he does and link will melt into him, continuing to wash the dishes and revali will kiss the back of link's neck, and it's like. this is the most content that revali has ever been in his entire life... until their seven year old comes running into the kitchen screaming being chased by their older sibling and the dog, but you get the point.
the way i'm perceiving it right now, it's like. when they first started dating, you could tell that revalink's dynamic was gonna be "two stubborn shitheads who are so obsessed with each other and fight as flirting", but thirty years later, their dynamic is like "two stubborn shitheads who are still obsessed with each other, but it's like their souls are always falling in step with one another." revali and link know each other like the back of each other's hands, they can predict each other's every movement and thought, and they don't have to say a word to know what the other needs or wants. they both grow really soft and sentimental over each other, and no one expects that from revali particularly. he can still bite tho (especially if you insinuate anything negative about him, link, or their marriage/family) so y'all be on your guard!
i do want to emphasize though, revali doesn't lose his tsundere-ness lol. like i said, he can still bite! he'll always have that streak of pride and arrogance but it's been significantly tempered by link's presence which is why i want to note that he's softer, not soft. but if you can catch the way he looks at link, any doubt you could have held that he loves link will disappear in seconds.
as for link, he's probably a little less feral than he was when they first started dating, but he's still jumping revali's bones at any given opportunity. definitely the type to let everyone know he has a husband and he loves his husband very much. revali's presence in his life has made link significantly brighter and sweeter to everyone around him because revali is his rock and link knows he always has someone to support him up through everything, so he doesn't need to worry.
so to completely answer your question: it's not that their dynamic changes by a lot, it just evolved and got stronger and more powerful. like pokemon. 😃👍

Revali x reader headcannons
They/Them reader
Romantic 💘
Tw! Cussing,
A/n: I hate him with all of my heart but you guys simp so why not
Update: I grew to love him
Tumblr media
You’re literally the only one he’s not an asshole to
You have to pull him back when he wants to attack Link
His feathers puff up when you give him any affection in public
He acts like a angel in front of you but when you turn your back he goes back to being the Asshole that everyone knows
When you both started the relationship all he could do was show off to you but you cracked him open like an egg (lol)
He flys you around everywhere
He gets so jealous easily and insecure as well
Really likes it when you nuzzle into his neck
When Rito village gets cold he just wraps his arms around you and sits on you like a baby chick
When you first met him he found you Very Worthy (pretty) of his presence
All of the champions made fun of him when they found out
Mipha had a vibe when Revali had a crush on you
Everyone was so surprised when you ended up with him
It’s the same way she looked at Link
That kinda got depressing
Is a Very tired mom when you and Link do something reckless
“Do you see the way Revali looks at Y/n?”
“Yeah. So?”
“It’s like… never mind”
————————————————————————
“You’re dating Y/n!”
“No way!”
“We thought you would be single forever”
“Do you really think of me as that?”
“Yep”
“Y/n, no! You’re literally dating me!”

So I Don’t Forget Again: A Breath of The Wild fanfiction
Entry 170: Rito Village
Even though I can’t fly and most of their techniques involves the intricacies of flying and shooting at the same time I’ve still learned a lot. Teba said we were going to take a break today; he had noticed my arm started acting up yesterday and thought I needed a break. Yesterday he thought I just might not have stretched enough before training but seeing me this morning he thought I might have pulled something and suggested I ask Saki to take a look at it.
I guess I’ll have to visit the Domain soon. I’m not even near finished with the medicine I have now. Feels like a waste to have not finished this stuff before getting new medicine, but I was given an excess amount since they didn’t know how long I was going to be gone for.
Bossa Nova kept nudging my arm and side, I think he’s noticed too. That or he just wants scratches and pets. After getting here he practically had been getting them nonstop from just about everyone. With no one petting him I guess he now wanted me to pet him, and he nudged me less after I pet him. There’s also plenty of foliage here. I think Bossa Nova is getting spoiled here. I hope he’ll be okay with leaving when I’m done here.
I found Amali calling out for Kheel. She had gone missing and Amali was searching around the whole village. Though things are much safer, the Yiga have been around attacking people.
Teba and I had been using them in training as targets. I understand it’s to protect everyone in the village, but… I feel nauseous seeing the bodies pile up.
I offered to search outside the village for Kheel.
She was at Warbler’s Nest. She wants to finally have singing practice with her sisters but they refuse to go and she refuses to leave till they join her. I told her that if she had to practice here I or some other warrior should be there. It seems she doesn’t know about the Yiga. I thought about explaining the situation to her but I shouldn’t scare her, what if she becomes too scared to leave the village even when it is safe. I tried telling her there were other dangerous creatures around like wolves, but she still refused. She didn’t need to practice here every day, but it had been so long she at least wanted to sing here just once. I told her that I wanted to hear their singing and didn’t want to miss a thing, so I asked her if she’d please come with me to find her sisters so I could hear their recital practice.
First Kheel and I checked back home and found Genli at the cooking pot, she wanted to do some cooking and had sent some of the others to help her collect some missing ingredients while she prepared. She did tell us where she thought some of the others would be at like the store and such.
When we were searching Amali spotted us and was relieved to see us back safely. She told Kheel it was still too dangerous to be out. I explained I’d be there to look after them, but Amali wasn’t happy. Apparently Teba had told her we were taking a break and told me I was to be resting, not fighting still. I explained the situation with my arm but that only got her to say that was even more reason to rest. She then sighed, saying I am an adult who could make choices for himself but she highly recommended that I return to the zora before my infections get worse and become more permanent, maybe even stay with them till I’m fully healed since all the Divine Beasts had been appeased now.
Even if I’m still fighting, for me, just staying here is a rest. Amali paused for a moment then so softly told me that whenever I needed a break I could always come back here. She then told me to go back to playing with my sisters as Kheel seemed to be getting impatient. She then got flustered noticing what she had said and apologized. In a lot of ways I am rather similar to Kass and with how I’m always with her daughters, playing with them and such whenever I returned from training with Teba I was like a big brother to them. Kass had spoken much of me before Amali and I had actually met, and the tales were so accurate, she felt like she had known me for much longer than we actually had, so in a way I felt somewhat like her own child as odd as it may sound. Especially with how Kass spoke of me in a similar way he had of their daughters.
When Amali and I were hugging Kheel joined in, confused but didn’t want to be left out. I promised her I’d be more careful and that I’d go see the zora doctors soon and return better than ever. Amali said that when I come back, I should bring my boyfriend so she and everyone else could meet him, though with Kass’ many tales of Sidon he sounded like a great person. I think Sidon would like that and I told her I’d see what I could do.
Cree was buying goat butter. Notts was supposed to be helping but seems she wasw slacking off and Knotts was out fishing. I had to do a bit of climbing to reach her, but we found her on her stone perch and she joined us in our search. Knotts was very close to the village, on one of the pillars which were connected by bridges, there’s a little lake on one of them and there we did some spear fishing to get a hearty salmon. They said I fish funny; I didn’t think spear fishing could differ so much from zoras and rito but I suppose like fighting it can surprisingly be very different.
We all returned to the kitchen to cook with Genli. We made Salmon Meuniere, and it’s delicious! They wanted to make seconds but I convinced them not too so we wouldn’t spoil our appetite for dinner.
On they way to Warbler’s Nest they rode on Bossa Nova’s back, constantly giving him pets which I think he was very pleased with.
After some practice they asked me if I sang too. As far as I could remember I didn’t think I ever tried. They… didn’t seem too pleased with the result. I’m now their pet project of sorts. They want to teach me so I can become a great singer and serenade “The fish prince”. It’s common practice to sing to win someone’s heart and they wanted to help me with my relationship with Sidon. They said cooking was good but since I travel so much, I need to do more like their dad who sings a lot for their mom and them. They then got the bright idea of getting Kass to teach me, since we both have deeper voices than them and maybe someone with a slightly more similar range to me could help more. They pushed and pulled me all the way back to the village and demanded that Kass teach me. This whole affair was kind of embarrassing, but… the thought of singing for Sidon is nice.
After practice I assisted Amali in the kitchen again. Many of the Rito dishes involve a meat of some kind and I think many of them would be good for traveling, maybe not the fish meat pie, but many of the other ones seem like they could work like the Salmon Meuniere.
Kass and I did some chatting after dinner. He asked me it this is what it’s always like when in stay in a place after appeasing the Divine Beast, all the training I had been doing. I told him it differs from place to place, but this time… all I have left is finding the Master Sword and Defeating the Calamity and I want to make sure I’m ready. I told him staying in places is more like today, learning something, entertaining children, just… living here, and training to be a warrior is a big part of living here, though I had been training to excess lately and I told him I’d probably be letting up on it. Kass told me it was a good idea, I did so much fighting already and even if the art was my one true love, too much of anything was never good.
We just chatted, I’ve just chatted with others before, but this just felt especially nice. I wonder if it’s just Kass being Kass or what Amali had told me before, but I just really liked this. Maybe it was the soft playing of his accordion when we hadn’t talked for a while, just watching the sunset.
I asked Kass what he was going to do if I defeated the Calamity. Kass told me he’d still be searching for ancient songs. Even if I completed my task, that didn’t mean his job was done, and being a bard is his life, he’s not just doing it because of a dead man’s wish, like me and my journey.
Kass paused for a moment telling me he still didn’t have a song for Revali but he did have a song for someone else, the hero from a hundred years ago. Kass told me that though I can’t remember much his master was there when the Calamity had struck and met the old, dead me. Kass told me of how his teacher had loved Zelda but she had clearly fallen for someone else, the dead hero, and that likely colored this song, but even with jealousy he believed the hero would return and poured that belief into a song. It was still something that could possibly shed some light on my fogged memories even if heavily warped by another impression of that man.
“An ancient hero, a Calamity appears, Now resurrected after ten thousand years. Her appointed knight gives his life, shields her figure, and pays the price. The princess’ love for her fallen knight awakens her power/And within the castle the Calamity is forced to cower. But the knight survives! In the Shrine of resurrection he sleeps, until from his healing dream he leaps! For fierce and deadly trials await. To regain his strength. Fulfill his fate. To become a hero once again! To wrest the princess from evil’s den. The hero, the princess-hand in hand-Must bring the light back to this land.”
Kass asked me if the song had helped any. I… feel something tugging at the back of my mind, but I can’t seem to quite reach it. I know there was something bright, but… nothing else. But the song, I died protecting Zelda? Kass told me his teacher had witnessed it. And it was as Kass had explained before, his Teacher wanted to help and seek out the ancient songs of the hero long past to help me, and after he died Kass took on his wish. Kass said that it was too bad the hero would never return. After all he died saving the princess. He knows, he learned of my past when I had my panic attack, when he had me read through my journal with him. He knows, but… it’s like back in the Zora’s Domain now. He did however tell me that should I meet the princess I should give her my condolences for being a different person, her knight gone, and if she lives, to try to let her down easy about Sidon and I. I asked him if it was a shock to find out when I was panicking. He told me he had a suspicion ever since we solved that deer puzzle together, so he wasn’t surprised. He then started giving advice. Talking about grieving, how he had tried to deal with his feelings about his teacher passing, someone like family to him. About working with your worries, being so scared about the people you care about when traveling. About getting stuck in your head when you have no one else to talk too, one piece of advice that really struck me was speaking aloud to yourself, even just hearing the words not just in your head can make quite a difference. About how to deal with the deathly loneliness all that plus traveling through such barren landscapes on your own can bring.
Kass asked me if I could do a favor for him. He just wants to see me one last time before I set off to fight the Calamity, share a day with him and Amali and his daughters if I could. He said it might be a selfish wish, but to place his own heart at ease before I go fight the thing, he wanted to see I was prepared and felt ready to do so, maybe by then he’d have a song all of his own for me, he had a lot of material to work with after all.
Kass just pulled me into a hug when I started crying. I thanked him and told him I’d be happy to and that I was just happy to be here with everyone. He told me he was happy too.

Serena Plays: Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity
Just beat Chapter 3: Freeing Korok Forest- and I have *thoughts*
Cut for spoilers- and again this is 95% me talking about my boi Revali. Also this absolutely got away from me and  turned into an essay about ‘Why Revali hates Link in Botw VS Why Revali hates Link in HW:AoC’
So a few random thoughts about this Chapter, and a few other general things I noticed while playing that I love:
Finally got to play as Vah Medoh and YAS!!!! I LOVED IT!
Hestu is adorable.
Revali is sassy and it’s great, “Maybe you could sneak by if you weren’t holding a giant pair of maracas”
Urbosa is such a Mom the way she immediately shushes Revali and goes to tell Hestu they’ll help him.
Fighting the evil clones of the Champions was weird and reminded me in the worse possible way of all the ‘corrupted Champions’ fanart I’ve seen.
Link pulling out the sword was *awesome*
I lol’d at the way the Great Deku tree had like 3 lines and then went straight back to sleep. ‘Saving the world is great and all but I need my beauty sleep’
The way Revali yelps ‘My feathers!” if he gets caught on fire is so cute.
The way Revali says ‘Fine Fine’ when you switch to his character during combat is A+, the delivery/tone is just great.
I notice that Revali has been drinking his respect women juice, because he was throwing a lot of compliments to Urbosa when I played with them both for a mission, for example, ‘You’re always so observant, that saved me today, thank you’. and also a line about her being a worthy comrade?
Now, all that being said- I have some *ISSUES* with Link and Revali’s relationship in this game so far.
So, we all know that in BotW Revali didn’t like Link, and spent a lot of time being rude and talking down to him. However there was (in my opinion) a clear and understandable reason for this. Revali worked tirelessly to become the amazing archer he is and earn his place as a Champion. We see him during a cutscene in the DLC launching himself into the sky over and over to try and master his Gale, heedless of the injuries he occurs in the process, and this gives us an idea of the lengths he’s gone to in order to become the incredible warrior he now is.
In comparison, in his own words, Link became a Champion ‘just because he happened to have that little darkness sealing sword on his back.’. You can understand his anger- it’s not fair that some random guy got to be a Champion just because a sword picked him, when he had to work so very hard to gain the same honor. Now we, the audience, know that Link has also worked very hard and is a Master swordsman in his own right, but Revali doesn’t. Unfortunately Link refusing to respond to Revali’s harsh words and criticisms only serves to anger the Rito further- and again you can understand the thought process of ‘What, I’m not good enough for you to acknowledge?? Just because you have the fancy sword?’ (Again, we as the audience know Link is functionally mute and hides his feelings as a way to cope with the pressure of being the chosen knight- but Revali doesn’t.)
Please note that I am not saying Revali was in the right to act the way he did, I will freely admit he was being an arrogant ass, but I can at least *understand* where his anger was coming from.
Now...cut to HW:AoC. I loved the way Revali and Link met in this game. I actually thought that perhaps they might have a better relationship here, because now Revali has had a chance to meet and battle Link *before* he became ‘The Chosen Knight’, before anger and resentment could cloud his perception.
But then Revali made that comment about Link being a ‘pathetic knight’ after Zelda broke up their fight. Which confused me a little, because by all accounts Revali saw Link mow through scores of Rito Warriors, and then the two of them had a fairly close fight, so why would he think of him as ‘pathetic’ after that? It didn’t seem to make much sense, but I put it down to (pardon the pun) ‘ruffled feathers’.
Then we come to the opening cinematic of Freeing Korok Forest and....wow. Just wow. Revali *lays into* Link. ‘Why is he the leader?’ ‘Why is he even here?’ And then the bit that in my opinion really crossed the line and was totally uncalled for ‘My one comfort is that your reputation will be completely ruined when you fail- the fallen knight’
*WHY* is he acting this way? As far as I can see Link has done nothing to earn this level of spite. Revali is arrogant and cocky sure, but you can’t just have him hate someone with that level of intensity without giving him a reason for it. It would make sense if he treated everyone that way- if he acted like everyone was dirt beneath his feet until they proved otherwise- but he doesn’t! Sure he might roll his eyes or tell them they’re ‘ridiculous’ but with the other Champions he works together with them fine- and even compliments them during fights!
I am holding on to the thought that perhaps later chapters might give us more insight, but at the moment I have this horrible sinking feeling someone decided Revali’s character was ‘the asshole’ and therefore decided to just use him to cause drama, regardless of whether it made sense or not. Revali is my favourite and I just...I really don’t want to see him used like that, when there’s so much more to him. Please don’t do that to my birb Nintendo.
Okay, it’s 3am, I’m going to stop now but I needed to get these thoughts down. Maybe I’ll come back tomorrow and edit this if anything else has sprung to mind.

so you want to read that fic but you don’t know what a zelda is
a brief introduction to the characters and several elements of breath of the wild and age of calamity for this bitch. this is basically for my friends and longtime readers who want to read when the war is over/angels but have never played a video game in their fucking life so the rest of you can ignore this. also you should check out when the war is over/angels. it’s pretty great.
THE CHARACTERS
Tumblr media Tumblr media
this is zelda, princess of hyrule, descendant of a goddess. her mom’s dead and her relationship with her dad’s kinda fucked. she’s also supposed to have these, like, superpowers or whatever, and these superpowers are supposed to, like, save the world or whatever, but we dunno where they are and she dunno what do about this. she has a complex about her powerlessness, of course. she’s also very beautiful so she gets two photos.
Tumblr media
this is link. i don’t have a nice photo of him saved so you’ll have to deal with this. he’s been hella badass with a sword since he was like 2 years old and they kind of held him up as a Model Knight at the dinner table or some shit so now he’s very repressed and doesn’t know how to communicate his feelings openly to people anymore. he’s also the chosen knight that’s supposed to, like, save the world or whatever alongside zelda. he’s also zelda’s personal knight. he has canonically eaten rocks.
Tumblr media
this is impa. friend and protector of zelda. scary. i would kill men for her.
Tumblr media
the champions. the big dude with the hairy arms is daruk. he belongs to a race called the gorons that canonically eat rocks and he’s very nice. the tall lady with red hair is urbosa. she’s the chieftain of her people, the gerudo, and she’s the fucking coolest. she will also not hesitate to slap you. the bird is revali. he’s a bird. the tiny fish child next to zelda is mipha. mipha would never slap anyone unless it involved her brother sidon. the champions + link who is also a champion but like a special one, like how everyone has a favorite powerpuff girl, get to pilot these giant gundams called divine beasts and then kick ganon’s ass. that’s pretty much their entire job description. 1) get in the gundam shinji 2) kick ass 3) profit.
Tumblr media
this is the egg guardian. he came from the future and only exists in the age of calamity timeline. you cannot find him in the botw timeline. why? because the bitch left.
Tumblr media
this is calamity ganon. think of him as a giant worm on a string that wants to eat your family. spends most of his time vibing out as a concept. the primary antagonist of the zelda franchise though he’s not usually this fucked up looking.
SHORTHANDS AOC = hyrule warriors: age of calamity, a hack & slash spin-off game that was advertised as a prequel to the legend of zelda: breath of the wild. released 2020. BOTW = the legend of zelda: breath of the wild. the game. the legend. the bitch. released 2017.
THE STORY to get a grasp on That Fic all you really need to know is that a hundred years before the events of botw zelda and co fight against the giant worm on a string and lose. the champions, her dad, and like half of the kingdom’s population die. link also technically ‘dies’, but the sexy sword he picked up (master sword, legendary item, very swag) is like ‘if you send him to this big blue box called the shrine of resurrection on the great plateau he’ll take a 100 year nap and then wake up feeling hella great. he’ll also lose all his memories xd’. so they send link to the shrine of resurrection and then zelda goes to the castle to meet the giant worm on a string and she basically plays uno with him for a hundred years to keep him distracted from the whole eating her family thing while link lies in a box and gets over being dead. so here’s the catch: in aoc, they win. in aoc a hundred years before botw the giant worm on a string attacks and with the power of friendship and also time travel (they import some stock from botw aka Buff dudes and traumatized younger siblings and also children) they defeat him. aoc is literally fix-it fic but like shitty fix-it fic that doesn’t address anything particularly interesting and aims for making everyone happy instead of experience meaningful emotional development. i’m kidding the above is all strictly subjective opinion but the important thing here is that botw is neon genesis evangelion and aoc is the powerpuff girls and that’s a problem for me because they’re supposed to be the same story.
WHAT THIS FIC ADDRESSES WHEN THE WAR IS OVER/ANGELS is basically a very elaborate and fucked up answer to the question: is it possible to have them win and lose in the same universe? the answer by the way is no but through some elaborate buttfuckery i manage to smash both narratives to pieces and then weave them back together and also give everyone extra emotional trauma in the process. the story starts out in the aoc timeline and more or less follows the powerpuff girls story until chapter 2 which is when shit hits the fan. chapter 2 may confuse you, so i would recommend you check out the spoiler-filled addendum if you need clarification. chapter 3 won’t hurt you. i promise. in summary, everyone in this story would commit murder for zelda. and they do.

Current Fic Ideas & Emoji Voting Key
Quick disclaimer that I’m a romance writer in all aspects of the term, so most of my fics will contain mature content. Engage at your own risk, you know the rules, you’re responsible for curating your own experience of the internet, blah blah blah. This post serves as a current mock up of fic ideas I’m either actively working on or considering working on next. You can drop me an ask about any of them, or just vote via the emoji combo I’ve assigned them.
Voting lets me know you’re excited about an idea and makes it more likely I’ll actually work on it. You can vote anytime, there’re no deadlines or winner announcements, just me gauging your interest by what I see in my ask box most often.
You can also ask me about the original stuff I’m working on currently. The current WIPs are Medusa centric and the emoji for them is: 🐍
- Lupin: 🤑🤠💍  These are all oneshot ideas, between 5-15K each. If you want to vote for a specific idea, send me the emojis and the number of the idea.
Lupin, Jigen, and Goemon always play rock-paper-scissors after a big heist to decide who’ll give the group a striptease, and who will get showered with money. Based on a piece of fanart that is basically this sequence of events in a 4koma (except in their version Jigen loses and in mine, it’s Goemon). (written, just needs editing)
Zenigata cuffs Lupin four times, and Lupin steals his heart. Very NSFW conclusion. Zenigata is the most caring lover you’ll ever find. Lupin is as thirsty as usual and twice as intense. (written, just needs editing)
Jigen protects Lupin from poison darts during a treasure hunt in an Aztec temple, and Lupin nurses him back to help--forcibly, since Jigen is a horrible patient. Born from my desire to spoil Jigen and talk about what ridiculous domestic husbands these two are. (WIP)
Born from the idea that Goemon and Zenigata probably couldn’t be an item, my brain decided to come up with how I could write for them. Goemon’s teaching an ikebana class as part of his training, and Zenigata shows up as a student on forced recreational leave for his health from the ICPO. Zenigata wins the samurai’s heart through flowers. But what happens when Lupin and Jigen find out? (Only good sexy things, I promise. These beans are in a healthy polycule--be gay, do crimes)
Trans!Lupin and Trans!Jigen premise: Jigen cares for Lupin after the master thief has top surgery, since Jigen has Been There and Done That. Caring, sweet, and a little sexy. Lupin is a much better patient than Jigen.
- Sonic Vampire Novelist Coffee Shop AU: 📚☕💐
Shadow is an immortal vampire who has seen the world change for the worse too many times. These days it feels like he only lives for his coffee dates with Rouge, another immortal who loves each new era they encounter, warts and all. He has to admit that the book series she got him into speaks to him, at least. If someone in this era can understand him without meeting him, it can’t all be bad. But he hardly expected the goofy blue barista at the new coffee place to understand him the way those books do.
This is a novel length romcom romp with some big feelings about what it means to watch as things change, grow, and die. Expect lots of Big gothic feelings from this one, emotionally charged kissing, and overly-adoring sex. But also expect shenanigans from everyone in the coffee shop, which include Rouge, Amy, Tails, Knuckles, Cream, and more.
- Sonic Blazamy: 💖🌸💎
Amy Rose has been in love with Sonic for a while.
Or has she?
When the Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Shadow, and Silver are trapped as the fuel sources for Doctor Eggman’s newest evil scheme, Amy teams up with Blaze, Rouge, and Cream to save them. With Sonic out of the picture and Amy fulfilling his role, was she ever really in love with him? Or did she just want to be like him?
This is a novel length epic romance with lots of competent women and lots of romantic Blazamy content. Expect flowery hopes and dreams, badass self-actualization, and glancing hand touches that give way to cuddly and sweet sex.
- Persona 5: 🗡🍛☕
After bringing down the Metaverse twice, Ryuji didn’t think graduating high school and figuring out what to do with his life would be so hard. Akira’s back in town, and the gang’s more-or-less all in Tokyo, but everyone else seems to have a plan while Ryuji just floats. How’s he supposed to change the world when he’s not a phantom thief anymore?
This is a novel length fic that addresses how powerless one can feel being just one person in the face of all the corrupted systems and bigotry the world has to offer. It’s about holding on to what you believe in, working through the doubt, and fighting your way to a better tomorrow with the power you do have. The whole gang is queer, featured relationships being Mako x Ann, Ryuji x Akira, Futaba & Yusuke as platonic life partners. Akira is polyamorous and omnisexual, Futaba’s asexual and aromantic while Yusuke is demisexual and very romantic, Makoto’s a lesbian, Ann and Ryuji are bi, and Haru’s pansexual, demisexual, and aromantic. They’re one giant band of queer Phantom Thieves, and even if they’re not really doing the Metaverse thing anymore, they’re still gonna save the world!
Also, I’m gonna make Makoto not a cop. That super didn’t age well. Zenkichi and his boss can work on making them better/abolishing them for other better organizations.
- Hades Game: ❤️‍🔥💀
Oneshot. I just really need to elaborate on the threesome you can have with them in-game, okay? Healthy and canon poly relationships are so few and far between, so often I have to do a ton of groundwork to explain why it’s working in the fic, but NOT WITH THESE KIDS!
Get ready for Meg helping Zag and Than be better at expressing their feelings, lots of kissing, and probably pegging.
- Castlevania Animation Trevor/Sypha/Alucard: 🧛🏰🛌
Castlevania gave Alucard a threesome last season, and I just really need S4 to give me him being taken care of by his partners. They’re probably not going to give it to me, so I’ll need to do it myself. This is just an everybody loves Alucard oneshot, with the gang’s signature banter (to an extent), Sypha being sexy, and Trever being remarkably sincere. This fic is gonna feel like that Ann Hathaway picture with Trevor kissing Alucard and Sypha holding the end of Trevor’s whip while she leans her head on Alucard’s shoulder adoringly.
- Devil May Cry Nico/Lady/Trish: 💋✨😈
Nico’s gay, okay? Like really, really gay. And Lady’s bi and not into men who make her pay bills, but very into women who make amazing guns for her and demonesses with hearts who fight by her side. Trish is ace, but loves people and is pretty attached to Lady at this point. Plus it’s cute when Lady blushes and says nice things like they’re insults. I don’t have super solid ideas for them yet, and I envision these more like a polycule where Lady’s with Nico and with Trish but they’re not with each other more than seeing it as a threesome, but who knows what might happen. This is probably 1-2 oneshots depending on ideas, but might turn into a series of oneshots if people are interested (or I can’t control myself and inspiration strikes).
- Post FMA:B Blind Roy & No Alchemy Ed: 👀👑🙏
This is actually an old novel-length fic I wrote ages ago and didn’t post that didn’t turn out well because I was new to writing sex when I first wrote it. The plot is good, and is all about Roy learning to work with his blindness to reclaim his ambition of being Fuhrer and changing the system to something that actually cares for its people. He and Ed reconnect, fall into bed, and both set about working through their respective traumas about being “useless” having lost their sight/alchemy. They go to Xing as an ambassadorial party to offer Amestris’s collaboration on Al and May’s Alkahestry experiments--and uncover a plot that might threaten both kingdoms.
- Age of Calamity continuity Mipha x Revali: 🦚🐟💘
The first time Revali noticed Mipha, it was in the heat of battle. She stole his mark, taking them down with a flurry of quick blows from her spear. Violence rained from her like water--and then she healed him on her way to her next battle. No questions, no conditions, just pure kindness. The usual need to measure himself against those around him was quiet in her wake. And Revali couldn’t understand it. But how to get to know more about her? A fish and bird may fall in love, but where would they live?
This fic could be a oneshot or novel length depending on how far down the hole I fall. I need it to cover time, but it could be done in linked vignettes or with actually covering events in detail. I may elect to do a oneshot just to get it done and out of my system faster. So much fic to write, so little time.
Expect trans!Revali, polyamorous Zoras, scary competent Mipha, songbird Revali, love confessions that are made up entirely of berating Link for not loving Mipha the way she wants him to, and breaking these characters a little outside of their assigned roles in BotW and Age of Calamity. Background Link x Zelda, and Urbosa x Zelda’s Mom.
- Epic desert romance about Urbosa and Zelda’s mom: 🏜🏝⚡
I just think Urbosa should kiss women and Zelda’s mom should get more development and maybe a name or something. Also, lightning imagery/metaphors/play.
It also went way over my head that Riju wasn’t Urbosa’s daughter the first time I played BotW, so now I want to write about the Gerudo queen who refused to produce an heir. The Gerudo are fascinating and have a very interesting cutlure, but I think it could be examined from a nonbinary perspective that rejected pregnancy and wanting to find a husband. Not in like a hateful way, but in a way that examines if that’s really right for everyone. There’s that shop in town that sells Voe armor, after all. Maybe finding a husband and having children isn’t something you have to do if you don’t want to. And Urbosa really doesn’t want to.

Note
any headcannons u want to share about Revali??? Or even Erin?
Ooooooh boy;
I don't want to turn this ask into an essay, so I'll try to only say a few things,,,
Revali:
Other than him being shorter than most rito, I like to think he was a late bloomer, which is why he pushes himself so hard in training, to "catch up" and prove he can be a great warrior
This one I think about a lot--family. Obviously he had to have had parents at some point but we don't see any talk of it in the games. So, for my AU, he was an only child, and his parents passed when he was young. Mom passed away when Revali was very young which caused a strain on his and his dad's relationship because they both handled the grief pretty badly. (Revali pushed his focus to training, but also started shutting people out)
Erin:
The big thing for Erin, is that although he's a chill dude who wants to see the world. He does have a hard time with commitment? Like, he's been in a few relationships before, but the interests would usually conflict, that, and he's really focused on absorbing as much information as possible about Hyrule. So being in a relationship isn't exactly on his priority list. But if it happens, it happens kind of thing haha

Finished Hyrule warrior age of calamity...
And i loved it so much, but if my heart (read : biggest crush on zelda) is satisfied, my brain can’t help but think of a way to improve it (as always) so here are my thought under spoilers x) Feel free to ignore me, it is purely to play with scenario in my head !
First thing first : the base story ; while i do love the idea of time travel (it would be hypocrite of me to say otherwise as 80% of my fics plays with it) I do think it could be played on better in this story. For me the biggest flaw is that they don’t play on the “will they, won’t they?” that comes with time travel fix it, by stating immediately that Terrako (tiny eggrobot) comes from the future and is changing the future by its mere presence.
How to fix that -> This is probably the change that would take most of the work. First thing first, i would make the jump back in time further in the past ; enough for terrako to be seen as the “seer” that predicted the Calamity ganon’s return. Which happens i think (if i recall the lore right, when Zelda is around 7 years old, right after her mother’s passing). I think it would be interesting for 1 small prologue chapter to be about this. It will change the “twist” in the story endgame but the twist is, in my opinion, less important than the tension we couldget from the “will they/ won’t they” throughout the whole game.
In my mind it would go like this : we play King of Hyrule + Urbosa, background character Zelda’s mother and Hyrule’s chancelor (Astor but not you know, nt corrupted yet) as background characters not-playable (or maybe Zelda’s mother to show what it looks like to fight with the power?)/ probably having to protect them is the mission + maybe Link’s parents as PNJ solider battling alongside the characters and Cass’s master the Sheikah that sings balad in the Hyrule castle.
1rst battle (somewhere in hyrule) : The chapter starts with the reports of monsters becoming more and more frequent, and so the royal family investigates it. As it could be a sign of the calamity ganon returning (says the queen) the chancellor is doubtful : how many monsters is a sign? Do they have records about it? How can they know? Won’t they just put themselves in danger for nothing? Of course his prediction rings true and the monsters surround the place. They have to evacuate the town and organize strongholds around the town to protect it. (Introduction to Link's parents as hylian captains in charge) + King asking the Sheikah to go ask for reinforcement Zelda’s mother saying Urbosa is close. Then once the stronghold are in place, the purpose is to hold it until the time limit ends, when Urbosa arrives with her troops as reinforcement and they eliminate the monsters completely. Demo at the end of the battle shows the queen is looking around the place and finds terrako lying on the ground / in the ruins + the sheikah plate. The king and her decide to bring it to inspect it / offer it to her daughter as toys (to make the King of Hyrule a little bit more likeable through his relationship with his wife and daughter first in between battle), against the chancellor’s wishes.
2nd Battle (in the hyrule castle + castle town) : The Queen is teaching Zelda how to repair terrako with the help of the Sheikah chief (and maybe Purrah as kid and Impa?). Like in the story, Zelda repairs terrako and shows it to her mother, which says she is very proud of her. Terrako however runs away as soon as it can, and the battle is to catch it as it runs around the castle and causes havoc. Urbosa (who is here for a visit) has to catch it before the King of Hyrule notices it. Once the battle is over, the Sheikah can finally analyze the data within terrako. It brings the information that the calamity is indeed coming back.
3rd battle : The chancellor advises the king and queen to be careful, as sheikah technology had been buried deep for a reason (maybe bring up the lore of the Hyrule family betraying the sheikah and so the birth fo the Yiga clan). He says he believes in the common way to predict the future and asks to use a ritual to confirm the queen + terrak + sheikah’s prediction. He says it could be a trap from the Yiga clan. To prove him wrong, Urbosa goes spying the Yiga clan. (Idk what it could be, a mix of infiltration, kind of mission and battles? To capture a Yiga?) Anyways it’s Urbosa again with one Hyrule captain as a guest. In the meantime we are on another battlefield, where the king assists the chancellor in his ritual in the time temple on the great plateau. He has to protect him until the end of the ritual? (With the other hylian captain) At the end of the battle, baby!Zelda is lead to the battlefield because of terrako, when he reaches the temple of time some corruption seeks in during the ritual, while the chancellor gives of the prophecy that beasts are buried beneath the ground and that could help fight the calamity. It is unclear what caused an explosion : terrako’s presence or the corruption, or the ritual, or maybe even a yiga? Anyways something happens the queen protects Zelda and the king with her power. We skip places : Urbosa gets the news that the Queen and the chancellor has been killed.
End of the prologue chapter with a funeral demo. Adding Zelda acting dignified through the funeral. Someone in the crowd says it is sad, as the princess is young, and will probably not remember her mother at all. (To justify Zelda forgetting Terrako) Maybe a scene with young Link (with baby mipha here near to show they’re friend, among the zora delegation) being told by his remaining parents that he has to protect the hyrule family like the parents that were as a temple (and implied that died too) did.
Another addition i would put in the game is the possibility to go on inside the map without enemies in between battles (to look for korogu but not chest) ; and be able to purchase things here once the markets are opened/unlocked. It would allow people like me who like to see the landscape / comparison between breath of the wild and age of calamity to be satisfied. Of course it is optional you can go inside the map or purchase directly on the menu like you do today.
Let’s go back to the game.
So now after we go through the first chapter that is not changed one bit, Terrako appears like usual. The only difference is that during the first half of the battle, there’s a discussion between the King and an unknown soldier who says an old storage of the queen’s has been touched by the canon’s fire by accident (or maybe make a monster reaches the canon and adds a art where Link has to defend the canon from a monster waves). The soldier also says the magistrate impa went to check on the damage done and retrieve what can be salvaged (which explains Impa’s presence and her holding the sheikah plate) Which explains why terrako is lying on the ground later. You have access to missions in the hyrule castle.
Another change i would do for missions : some of them lead to small demos as a reward that deepens the information you get on the characters. Each character has at least ONE serie of missions that leads to demos. Also, there’s two series of missions that leads to the retelling of breath of the wild + ballad of the champion dlc demos. I mean it it’s very important. Once you complete these missions you get to see again the memories you had in those two games, with almost no difference (except some alteration you can notice oly when your rewatch it, like not wearing the champion tunic yet / not carrying the master sword yet, or terrako being behind from afar, providing the outside pov we had in there (like seeing Link and Zelda’s backs). Also some mission are accessible within a certain time range. (and it’s showed on the map, terrako icon is up and saying until which chapter you have to complete).
Anyways the first missions you get are :
(Epona serie) The king of Hyrule requesting says Zelda’s new horse is ready and to retrieve it to Malon’s ranch. >Later> Leads to Zelda having trouble with her horse and Link giving her advices (maybe leads to special mission where you are on horses’ backs, only being able to use Link and Zelda on horse’s back and later Revali, flying, and Riju with mme Patricia) >later> Leads to the demo of BOTW where zelda explains she will go pray to the wisdom source.
Other missions you could get :
(Link’s past serie) Adding a new quest for Link and his remaining parents to show the pressure he is under too.
(Zelda’s training) Adding new quest showing Zelda praying/meditating to show she tries. It makes Zelda prays in the temple of time, or other divine places (like the one in BOTW where there’s a giant goddess statue, or to ancient gods like Naryu..ect...), it ends at localizing the spring of strength.
(Romance serie optional) Adding a serie where the player can choose who Links ends up with. (Link has choices between Zelda, Mipha, Sidon) ; (Zelda can end up with Link or Impa -yes i’m sorry not urbosa, since urbosa knew her mom i think it’s for the best ><).
I have no idea for the champions, but you’re welcome to add/imagine one serie for them. Here are some other missions that could be added :
(Astor) -> This serie of missions is used to learn that astor = chancellor that has disappeared in the ritual on the great plateau. He was saved by the calamity ganon’s corruption.
(Sheikah’s ballad) -> This serie of missions is about Kass’s master and his unrequired crush on Zelda / hatred toward Link. You would have missions like  helping him find inspiration for his songs, or protecting him while he travels with you.
Other details/alteration :
-OUTFITS are easier to get throughout the story and every character gets one. You cannot play the character in the zone until you get the right outfit for them and wear it (winter clothes for Zelda/Link/Impa in the Rito for example). That way people can customize their characters earlier. (For example Revali and Mipha need a special outfit in the field with lightning?)
-Also in the gerudo town map, only female characters can enters the town, you’re automatically switched off the male characters if you do venture in.
SO THIS CHANGE : the first half of the game is longer and makes sure the player wonders if the future of breath of the wild is going to happen still like it did.
For that here is the order of the previous games memories put in order (and modification added) :
1)Memory of Zelda snapping at Link for following her by king’s order. (Change is Link does not carry the master sword and is in his knight’s outfit).
2) Memory of Urbosa being requested to help through by Zelda/ King of Hyrule at the end of her recruitement chapter + scene at the end of it.
3) Memory of Darruk talking to Link at the end of his recruitment chapter (changes are Link does not carry the master sword and is in his knight’s outfit)
→ After Darruk’s recruitment there’s a quest that leads to Zelda’s discussion with Darruk featuring in the champion’s ballad.
4) Memory of Zelda’s meeting with Revali at the end of the chapter of his recruitment (needs ; everyone’s snow outfit, zelda’s horse quest completed - no change)
5) MIpha’s memory with Link happens after her recruitement.
6) Mipha’s conversation with Zelda in the champion ballad is held after her recruitement battle and Link’s awakening of the master sword. (no change) after a mission.
7) After Link gets the master sword, there’s a serie missions where zelda needs the ingredients to make the champion’s outfit. (You need to unlock the ability to dye armors too, and the blue color). it leads to two memories : the informal ceremony requested by darruk in BOTW, and the Ballad of champion demo where you are intronized by the king and later have a picture taken of the group. (Only alteration is that line where they say they have yet to unlock the other abilities of the sheikah plate, and you can see terrako looking at Impa taking the picture).
8) Revali’s memory with Link (botw) happens once Link has the master sword too.
9) The memory where Zelda asks if links hears the master’s sword voice happens in a serie where you improved the divine beasts + after a first mission with darruk driving his divine beast.
10) I suppose the memory with Yiga pursuing Zelda can happens during the chapter we fight Yiga / infiltrates them.
11) Same with Zelda’s sleeping next to urbosa. It happens once you’ve improved the divine beast + did the first operation with Urbosa using her divine beast.
12) The silent princess memory is here with a serie of mission dedicated to save it, like there is in the game already and the frog mission. You also have to complete all the previous memories stated before this one.
13) The Zelda’s training mission serie leads to localize the strength source and ends up with the memory where Zelda prays there.
14) The memory of Link and Zelda having a heart to heart under the rain happens during Link’s personal serie of mission.
15) The memory of Zelda helping Link after a hard battle on death mountains happens once you completed the serie of extreme fire missions that is already in the game.
16) The memory of Zelda having a fight with her father happens after the spring of courage disastrous mission and a series of missions that started after the 2nd battle of chapter 1 (where you fist fight a guardian) that had the goal to be able to use guardians. Once you have this memory you cannot do the mission about sheikah technology for a while.
Finally the last memory you have in this first half of the game is the one with the horse riding, right before the chapter where calamity ganon awakes. Where Zelda says she will go to the spring of wisdom tomorrow for her birthday. It is the end of the serie mission about epona and her white horse. (no alteration except terrako being seen at the end and maybe a skip to evil!terrako so we know why Calamity ganon is awakened sooner, because Astor saw this through him and so acted upon it)
Now that the first half is done, the game can continue like it had, with going full canon!divergence and the game is almost the same as it. The only changes i would do are :
-Adding a serie of missions WAY BEFORE (like in the first half of the story) where they find the shrine of resurrection, maybe even a battle mission on it before where someone is injured and you have to carry them there to test it.
-Altering Zelda and the King’s reconciliation :
1)When the castle is attacked, and the King is left behind : adds Link’s remaining parent by the king’s side and telling him to protect the princess at all cost to add a bit of emotion to Link too.
2)Then making the runs outside the castle another battle mission leading to the memory where Zelda breaks down in Link’s arm like in BOTW but ends up with Impa and terrako finding them, out of the forest and the scene we had where terrako sing the song to Zelda (+ seeing Revali’s divine beast in the sky) at the end.
3) Akkala’s fortress retaking takes place in the same way as before, once you rescued all the champions. But the reunion with the king happens right before the Hateno fort battle. He has been brought wounded there and you meet him mid battle while protecting the place. So the scene where the kind is already proud of his daughter BEFORE she gets her sealing power. The flash back scene happens here explaining he got saved by the metal part + adds a little bit of him saying he was afraid he would lose her to the sheikah technology the same way he lost her mother/ the chancellor...He is surprised by her leading the troop so well and retaking Akkala. Also it’s not sure he will survive yet it is said, and when she asks about Link’s parents he says they got separated and doesnt’ know if they made it. So the scene where Zelda panicks when Link is about to die and thinks of her father (and maybe adding Link’s parents) still happens. She unlocks her sealing power.
4) After the Hateno battle a little bit more is expanded by Yiga’s chief recruitment, and we can see the king is better but sees his daughter leading the battle proud. The great plateau battle happens, and instead of a reveal of the king being okay, he saves zelda from an attack at the end of the great plateau (and same scene, with him saying he is proud of her).
Here it is a satisfying reconciliation for me. The one we got suffers from the crappy redemptions arc tropes we always have “yeah now i’m okay since you got exactly where i wanted you to be and so i have little to change about my mindset” so nope. Nope. Big nope.
The rest i would change almost nothing, to the rest of the game. (Except maybe as i said missions quests where you learn more about Astor / About Kass’s old sheikah mentor who had a crush on Zelda / and a little bit about every character’s past, but that’s optional). The explanation for Zelda forgetting Terrako is the same as she doesn’t remember being called little bird or her mother’s face in te memories we have of her, as stated in the funeral scene.
And i’m done with “what i would improve in the age of calamity game” thanks for reading xD See you for the next game !

My (probably not quite) comprehensive wish list for Age of Calamity, so that I can point to it and scream when the game comes out. (All I’ve watched is the actual trailers and not the released gameplay footage, so if something is confirmed or denied just don’t tell me)
Linkle
Revali’s family
Revali’s relationship to the rest of the Rito in general, why is this kid so serious about fighting
More information on Daruk and Urbosa’s likely families, they have descendants so they must have had CHILDREN, please show me Urbosa holding a baby. For story reasons.
I need at least one scene of Link and Revali both cross dressing to enter Gerudo town, and Daruk joining in
(Urbosa: You know you don’t have to do this. Daruk: BUT THE KIDS LOOKED LIKE THEY WERE HAVING SO MUCH FUN)
It won’t happen but any tidbit on Goron gender stuff would be FANTASTIC
Zelda and Revali bonding over their early days hate-on for Link
Revali’s BETRAYAL when Zelda is eventually like, actually he’s chill
ZELDA USING THE MASTER SWORD AT LEAST ONCE. PLEASE. EVEN IF IT’S JUST AT THE END AS SHE MAKES HER WAY TO THE LOST WOODS
Fi cameo Fi cameo i will actually cry ugly tears if Fi shows up for Zelda
Link’s family, give me his little sister that was in BotW concept art and cut for being too close to Aryll you cowards
TELL US WHAT HAPPENED TO LINK’S MOM
AND ZELDA’S MOM
AND THE IDENTITY OF THE FORTUNE TELLER
Please confirm that the house Link bought was already his
Playable baby Sidon
Face off with the Yiga clan with a Yiga Clan leader that IS as terrifying as you’d expect
Would absolutely never happen but morally dark gray Impa (+Purah and Robbie) who know how this is going to go down and do nothing to stop it because it’s how it’s ~supposed to happen~ for Ganon to eventually be defeated
If they wanted to establish any number of civilian characters living in towns that get destroyed to lend weight to what losing this battle means I would be over the moon

so i just beat age of calamity and wanted to gather my thoughts in a post, feel free to ignore
spoilers of course, so please be aware~
so despite what other people are saying, i really enjoyed the game! i don’t think it’s as good as botw of course, but it was very fun and enjoyable!
i admit i was, and still am a bit, disappointed that it wasn’t a prequel like they told us it would be. in fact in the beginning i was really against them making it an AU, but after finishing it i didn’t really mind it! it’s a fun au, and they stayed true to the original vibes of BOTW. and part of me is glad i didn’t have to watch the champions die bc i honestly would be so emotional
i know alot of people are also upset because it makes the whole loz timeline even crazier, but personally i’ve never really cared about the timeline. it’s not really important, imo, it very rarely ever affects the story of each game (save for the ones that are direct sequels like oot and mm). i just don’t find it important to enjoying the zelda universe, cause each game/group of games is it’s own stand alone story. its ok for things to just be for fun sometimes, like having link in mario kart. yeah it doesn't make sense in universe but that’s ok, it’s fun. it’s a video game
as for the storyline in aoc not making sense, yes there are some obvious plotholes (how was kohga alive both in aoc and botw, is he immortal?? i don’t know). but it’s a spin off game, the point of it was to just make the fans happy and give us fun content while we wait for the next actual installment, so i’m ok with that. and i’m ok with how cheesy it was, cause sometimes having cheesy storylines is just good for the soul. idk, in the end i just feel like sometimes its ok to have things that are just fun and enjoyable. and it’s fun to have an official “everyone lives” au. as long as botw 2 follows the actual timeline then i don’t mind~
for the most part i really adored the characterization of everyone (some complaints about revali’s characterization but that’s pretty much it), i was originally really worried about them messing it up.
zelda was the one i was worried about the most, i was VERY scared they would mess up her characterization, but they really went above and beyond my expectations with her. she was kind and strong and badass and just everything i could ever have hoped for. her story was heartbreaking but seeing her persevere and fight was just everything i wanted. i was however sad that we didn’t get to expand on her friendship with each of the champions, but it was still good.
link’s characterization was good, but we didn’t get a whole lot story for him, i really wanted to see more about his life, like his family life, and interactions with the champions. so could have done more, but it was good
i loved how urbosa was written in particular, i was so happy to see her go mom mode for both zelda and riju. all of her motherly moments were so heartwarming, and god she was such a fucking badass. i’m disappointed we didn’t get to learn more about her relationship with the queen of hyrule, but that’s alright in the end
mipha’s characterization was pretty much the same as it was in botw, she was very sweet yet strong and protective, i loved it
daruk’s characterization was super fun, i wish we got to see him and link interact more, but i ADORED that one scene they had together of daruk making link eat some rocks. what a king, i love their friendship so much
i’m disappointed with revali’s characterization in the game. i personally love revali, but he was written much better in botw. in botw they showed a softer side of him, showed his weakness to us. like yes he was an asshole, but in botw we see he uses that as a sort of defense mechanism to cope with his own self doubt and struggles. of the four champions he is the only one who is shown having to work to get his powers to work correctly, and he’s shown failing at it and being hard on himself. however in aoc they made it seem like he had everything down naturally and had no struggles. they also ignored his softer side that cares about the other champions even if he is too stubborn to admit it (getting worried about link when fighting windblight, speaking to zelda gently after her powers won’t awaken, etc). yet in aoc they just ignored all that and played up the whole “asshole” persona way too much. i was really hoping to see more of his soft side, especially after being saved from windblight. oh well, i still love him as a character despite how they messed up.
so yeah the common theme is i wish we got to see them interact and be friends more, but it was still good!
as for the story, i really loved it. i’m a sucker for cheesy stuff, so when the new champions showed up and saved the old champions i was an emotional mess, especially with mipha and sidon. i also LOVED how the story showed the king of hyrule how we was wrong about zelda, and showed how strong and capable zelda is despite how he treated her. seeing her lead the army to victory...bro that got me. and the egg turning out to be zelda’s creation? god that’s so cool, she really be out there making her own guardian as a small child, what a queen. and the part where the king sternly told link to get zelda to safety even if it meant he (the king) would die,..... ough... my heart
personally i found astor kinda boring and unmemorable (had to look up his name cause i didn’t even remember) but i don’t really mind cause i enjoyed the rest of the story so much
uhh this is getting very long and my brain is not working so i’ll stop here for now but yeah! i just wanted to write down my initial thoughts. i’m very satisfied with how the game turned out~

some of my thoughts on link, zelda, and the champions
this post actually started off with me trying to answer the last part of this anon's ask, and then it spiraled into something else, so i'm going to have to make another post about the actual idea 😭 for now, you can have this long-ass fucking thinkpiece i typed up because i love the champions dearly and i wanted a much larger presence from them as i played botw. this post is really long so if you want to read it, please sit down and have a snack while you read.
so the last part of anon's original ask was about the champions singing together and the idea of a found family—
anonymous asked:
Also: imagine all champions, Link and Zelda hanging out on one of the Divine Beasts and singing a song together (i am very weak to champions being a found family)
like you're so #real for this anon. i honestly do hope we get more champions content in TOTK because nintendo completely missed on not expanding on a found family dynamic between link, zelda, and the champions. sure there's the champion's ballad DLC and age of calamity (i haven't played either of these. sorry. i will soon!), but that's not.. they're still dead in the DLC and AoC isn't considered canon i think it's more of an alternative timeline? so that doesn't really count.
me personally i think daruk and urbosa are very mother and father, and they probably were if riju and yunobo are their direct descendants (which is a whole other rabbit hole in itself; urbosa and daruk died most likely leaving little children and spouses behind ㅠㅠ). and maybe that is the point; daruk is the rock (because he's a goron lol) that keeps the family together and in the botw memories is seen to be taking initiative to lead and tell the other champions to get to their divine beasts when the calamity awakens. he’s steadfast and encouraging and jovial and that’s very father of him! as for urbosa, she straight up mothers zelda and link in-game, she's basically zelda's maternal figure after zelda's mom dies. she's not a stepmom, she's the mother that stepped up 💪❤️
mipha bears the Eldest Daughter Curse™ and revali is the moody teenager who’s Not going through a phase, it’s a LIFESTYLE MOM!!!1!1!1!1 and imo link and zelda kinda give goofy twin siblings (imagine like the pine twins) vibes to me
i like the headcanon that link had a younger sister pre-calamity, but i’d like to add my own twist to that. assuming that link used to live in hateno village, what if link's parents split after the birth of his younger sister, with his father taking link and moving closer to hyrule castle to fulfill his duty as a knight, and his mother not wanting to get involved with the war against the calamity and taking his sister to stay in hateno? link must have been really young at the time and barely remembers being able to play with his little sister :( so even if he had a sibling, he was basically raised alone for most of his life. and if his father was a knight of hyrule, i doubt that he could have been the most present father to link either... with zelda's mother dying when she was young and her father being a complete dick, that makes both link and zelda the "only child" kids that were raised in less than desirable familial conditions. and so, i think link and zelda would have their own difficulties integrating into this found family dynamic with the champions.
now i'm not an only child (i have demons for siblings tbh), but i think both link and zelda are very independent people who feel like they can only rely and trust themselves with the way they've been raised. it takes a lot for both of them to learn to be vulnerable and trust others, and they're very much not used to the mismatched deck of personalities they have to deal with within the champions, that being jolly father daruk, very cutthroat mother urbosa, sweet and soft-spoken mipha, and dickhead ass bitch bird revali. how can they navigate through these relationships with their lonely childhoods swept up in prophecies of old? it's much easier than you think and it has to do with anon's idea: strengthening rapport with each other by singing together atop a divine beast >:]
ok i'm joking, i think that's more the apex of the roadmap to becoming a found family, but it's a very cute idea 🥺 after link and zelda are finally cool with each other, there are so many opportunities for each of them to bond with the other champions individually. there's of course zelda falling asleep on mama urbosa in vah naboris, link and daruk have their father-son bonding time by daruk protecting link from getting smashed to a pulp by volcanic boulders, etc etc, but what about mipha taking zelda to all the monuments that detail zora history throughout the domain so that zelda can study them? what about revali teaching link how to use the paraglider so that he can actually hit targets at the flight range and get a chance to finally settle the score between him and link? i actually like that idea a lot, because then we could get an explanation as to why the paraglider even exists in the botw universe (revalink for the win ehehe). nintendo, my dear friend, there could be so much more to this world that you've introduced to us.
on one hand, of course botw is narratively focused on link and zelda and calamity ganon, and mechanically about the open-world map, shrines/divine beasts, etc, that break free from traditional zelda conventions. but it leaves the champions to only be side characters that, though they played critical roles in handling the divine beasts, are nothing more than ghostly figures with a handful of one-dimensional character traits that only create a further disconnect between the current world of hyrule vs. its pre-calamity past. which is why we get champion's ballad and age of calamity, which both somewhat expands on the champions as characters, but never more than giving them a few more traits and interactions that, to me personally, feel empty and inadequate. i want to have these intimate interactions with the champions as characters in the botw map, ones that i can walk up to chat with as though they were sidon or beedle or a random npc traveler. i want to feel close to the champions, and nintendo, though with weak attempts, doesn't give me that.
Tumblr media
the picture that purah takes of the champions is so important to me. this right here is peak found family, a group of the most mismatched individuals that somehow meld perfectly together and balance each other out, and we only receive it through the DLC. that's so stupid. sorry nintendo, i want more than three minute long memories of a singular moment in a past life, i want more than npcs telling me who i used to be. i want king dorephan to tell us about the time zelda fell off of a waterfall and mipha immediately jumped after her to save her clumsy ass. i want to look through historical records of the gerudo and find one about urbosa launching daruk at the mouth of a molduking and daruk chewing her out for it later. i want elder kaneli gossip with me about an old rumor about how revali and the hylian champion of the past used to be found asleep together on the floor of the flight range's hut after a long night of training. i want the world of botw to give me signs and stories about how close the champions were with each other and to make my heart ache, to wish desperately to have known them, instead of like, 20 memories that only serve the plot, or honestly don't at all. but i digress!
i know for some people, the presence of the champions were meant to teach link about tragedy and loss and the effect of war and ruin and evil and cherishing your loved ones or whatever, but i simply did not get that message. that was not what i perceived the champions to be, because to me, the game lacked showing the relationships link and zelda had with the champions. like okay, you died and you also happened to know me. what if link doesn't really remember them at all? then what?
you receive twenty or so memories about the champions when including the DLC, and yes i do concede it gives us some more insight about their characters, but it doesn't do much more than that. the cutscene where mipha moves vah ruta to ready its lasers at the castle, where she wishes to see her father and sidon one more time, especially is an excellent example of emphasizing their significance to the people around them, to us as players and spectators to this hyrule... i want more of that.
i could be wrong about some of the stuff i've said, so disclaimer again that i haven't played the DLC or age of calamity, and maybe you do feel closer to the champions when you play those games! fanmade fic and art and headcanons have been really great ways of helping me view them in a multi-dimensional way, but going off the game's content itself, the champions feel like hollow spectres of people we never truly remember or get to know. maybe that's what they're supposed to feel like, but i don't want to feel that way about them. i'm too attached to them now, and i want to get to know them! curse you nintendo!!!

Can u do Urbosa
How I feel about this character:
I loved her, probably my second favorite champion. Just wish we had more of her character because Nintendo has a bad habit of giving the bare minimum of a character and then just letting the people fill in the blanks. Urbosa is a great and powerful figure, who is still caught up with the loss of her friend as she takes care of their daughter. But ohhhhh, look at that, Nintendo decided to not put cut scenes that dive into her characters any further than the shallow end of the piss filled kiddie pool. Whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
All the people I ship romantically with this character:
Well, not anyone of the characters in game work for her, she’s a too old for everyone, as she’s more of the mother figure. Although if she were to get in a relationship with someone, you better believe she is lesbian af
My non-romantic OTP for this character:
She is everyone’s mom. She pesters Revali, she laughs along with Daruk, she does girl talk with Zelda and Mipha. Ultimate mom, coupled with lesbian energy. I can’t really choose a single one otp, but maybe just her and Revali would be it (because I’m playing favourites lol)
My unpopular opinion about this character:
The Zelbosa ship is bad, very bad. I don’t know if this is an unpopular opinion, but its really my only negative one involving Urbosa.
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon:
THAT THEY LIVED OR GOT RESURRECTED OR SOMETHING. PLUS ALL THE OTHER CHAMPIONS WHY DID YOU LET THE BEST CHARACTERS IN THE GAME JUST DIE LIKE THAT NINTENDO AT LEAST LET THEM LIVE LONG ENOUGH FOR THE PLAYER TO ACTUALLY INTERACT WITH THEM

💬+ the non-ravioli Champions for your BotW S/I, Kai!
Send me a 💬 + a character from the same media as my f/o and I’ll describe their relationship!
honestly Kai doesn’t get as many opportunities to hang out with the other Champions as they would like, but they admire all the Champions greatly and consider them friends.
Urbosa: Mom Friend, #fitspo overall a big source of inspiration for Kai. they really look up to her. 10/10 would kick Yiga ass alongside any day.
Daruk: Kai REALLY likes Daruk. how can you not - he’s such a Bro!!! they’re a little intimidated by his size and boisterousness at first, but quickly come to appreciate the control he has over his immense strength, and in particular they appreciate the immense strength of his heart ;w;
Mipha: probably the Champion Kai interacts with least, largely because she’s so quiet compared to some of her fellow Champions. Kai definitely admires her poise and gentleness, and particularly how she seems to effortlessly continue exhibiting these traits even in combat.
Link: don’t tell Revali but of all the Champions, Kai looks up to and relates to Link the most, especially in his determination to continuously improve himself as well as his resourcefulness that has set him firmly on par with the other Champions despite having no supernatural abilities of his own.

Shadows of Hyrule | Chapter 10
Mondays. The worst day of the week. This Monday was particularly shitty. Instead of going right home after school, Link apparently had other obligations, as per Impa's orders. From now on, he was expected at the shrine every day after school, and he had a feeling she'd want to take up his weekends, too. It was for the greater good of Hyrule, Impa would say; he needed to properly learn how to fight and defend himself with only an ancient sword. Of course, there were plenty of other things he would rather be doing. Hanging out with Zelda and Impa were definitely not on his to-do list.
He had managed to shove the sword into his backpack, arranging it carefully on his back so that his hoodie covered the rest of the hilt that stuck out. When Mipha inquired, he simply explained it was an umbrella, though the forecast did not predict rain. Mipha, however, was too focused on the test they had in first period to care about Link's poor judgement of weather.
The sword remained hidden in his locker through the day and he made sure to be extra vigilant in keeping it out of sight every time he opened the door. He dropped his books off just before lunch, jumping when Zelda appeared at his side once he swung the door closed.
“What are you so jumpy for?” She narrowed her eyes at him.
“Maybe because you're creepy,” Link sneered.
“Whatcha hiding in there?”
“What do you think?” he muttered.
“You're just going to bring it every day?”
“I don't have much of a choice,” he said. “Besides, what if I need it during class?”
Zelda considered this for a moment. “My school attendance is going to suck, isn't it?”
Link shrugged. “So much for that perfect streak.”
Zelda rolled her eyes at him. Without another word, she turned her back and disappeared in the crowd.
Link found his way into the courtyard where his friends sat, as they usually did on the nicer days. He preferred it over the loud, dirty cafeteria. He was not greeted warmly, however. Urbosa immediately crossed her arms when he came through the doors, and Revali snickered, all to eager to see him suffer Urbosa's wrath.
“Do you want to explain to me why Gus was texting me Saturday?”
“I have no idea what you're talking about,” Link said, avoiding her gaze.
“Don't play dumb, Link. You and Riju are a nightmare.”
“Really,” Revali chimed in. “You're such a child.”
“I have a record to hold.”
“Riju doesn't need you egging her on.”
“Everything we do is always Riju's idea.”
Urbosa sighed. “Yeah, you're probably right there.” She straightened and her face hardened again. “But that doesn't mean you need to go along with it!”
“She's fun. And she's a good laser tag partner,” Link said defensively. “She's tiny, so she's allowed to push kids.”
Urbosa rolled her eyes. “You're a bad influence.”
“Yeah, but that isn't news to you.”
“That's how you spend your time?” Mipha said. “You knew we had a test today.”
“Aced it,” Link said.
“No, you didn't.”
Link shrugged. “But at least I had fun. What did you do over the weekend?”
Mipha hesitated. “Studied like everyone else.”
Revali raised a hand in the air. “I didn't study for anything.” He threw a thumb towards Teba. “Neither did he.”
“I... opened a textbook,” Teba said with a shrug. “And then I decided to have a life.”
“I have senioritis,” Daruk said. “But in my defense, all of my teachers have basically given up with the year. We're not doing shit.”
“Well,” Mipha started. “Some of us still have another year left to survive.” She glared at Link, but he was ignoring her, already diving into his sandwich.
“You're not hanging out with her again, are you?” Urbosa said in a defeated tone.
Link shook his head. “Nope.”
“Good,” Mipha said. “I'm coming over and letting you copy my notes.” She rolled her eyes. “At least I can say I tried to help you.”
“Actually,” Link said, hesitant. “I, uh, have plans after school.”
“Oh,” Mipha said softly.
Revali snorted. “You? Plans? Like what?”
Link shrugged. “Stuff. What's it to you?”
“You're right,” Revali said in a moment of revelation. “I don't care.”
“Fine,” Mipha said. “Don't come crying to me when you fail another class.”
Link patted Mipha's head. “Don't worry, I will.” He batted his eyelashes at her. “And you'll come to my rescue.”
Mipha sighed and rolled her eyes, but smiled down at her lunch.
To Link's relief, that was the end of their usual nagging, and the conversation moved on as Mipha inquired about Suki. Revali's attempts to tease Teba about his relationship were cut short as they usually were when Teba ignored him, and Revali finally gave up talking all together, at least for the time being.
Link wouldn't see them again until the end of the day, and when that time came around, he chose to ignore his friends all together. Zelda and Paya were already standing beside the town car which was sent to send her, Paya, and Link to the shrine where Impa waited. She crossed her arms and tapped her foot impatiently as she waited for Link. Link ducked his head as he attempt to blend in with the crowd of students exiting the school and avoid being seen by his friends. At the car, he shoved his hands in his pockets and met Zelda’s gaze.
“Time to learn some karate shit?” he asked with a raised brow.
Zelda glanced at Paya, then rolled her eyes. “So, you’re on board, I take it? What changed your mind?”
Link shrugged. “Figured even if it is bullshit, it’s another excuse to avoid doing homework.”
Zelda put a hand on her hip. “I couldn’t care less if you drop out, but don’t think being a hero is gonna pay the bills in your future.”
Link grinned. “Maybe not. But it’s a great pick-up line.”
Zelda rolled her eyes and without another word, slid into the backseat of the car. Paya followed suit, leaving Link to get in last, thankful not to be stuck in the middle. The drive to the shrine was uneventful, and uncomfortably quiet. Link kept his gaze out the window, watching as the city passed before him. When they arrived at the shrine, the three of them climbed out of the car, and without a word, Dorian took off, leaving them alone.
“He's butthurt,” Zelda said.
“Butthurt?” Paya echoed.
Zelda nodded. “My father had our backs and told him we were gone before he got there, but I think Dorian suspects that he's lying. They had a long meeting about everything. Father isn't any more thrilled about the situation as he was earlier, but he seems to have come around and accepted that this is what needs to be done. Impa must have convinced him to let us do this. He hasn't argued with me anymore about it.”
“I don't like him,” Link said in regards to Dorian. “I get bad vibes from him.”
Zelda rolled her eyes. “Impa is still the leader of the Sheikah, and my father is still the king. As long as they are on the same page, he can't do anything about it, whether he agrees with it or not.”
“If he's Sheikah, shouldn't he be trying to convince your father to let us do this?”
Zelda hesitated and turned her gaze to Paya.
“He has different ideas about how Ganondorf should be dealt with,” Paya said.
Link raised a brow at her. “That's it?”
Paya shrugged. “It's not like he's very vocal about his opinions. Clearly he disagrees. I couldn't tell you why that is.”
Link dropped his back on the ground and retrieved the sword. “Well, are we going to do this or what?”
Zelda peered at the charm on the sword. “What's that?”
Link shrugged as he inspected it more closely than he had when his father gave it to him. “I don't know. Something that belonged to my mom I guess. My dad gave it to me.”
“A good luck charm, I bet,” Zelda said with a grin. “Hylia knows you'll need it.”
“Yeah, I think he had the same idea,” Link muttered.
“He knows you got the sword back?”
“I guess I'm not as stealthy as I thought.”
Zelda crossed her arms. “Clearly. Hyrule is doomed under your protection.”
“It's not like I volunteered,” Link said.
“We would be in better hands with a squirrel.”
“At least I won't have to get my ass kicked.”
“Death would be too easy for you,” Zelda snarled.
“So hostile.”
“Are you always this annoying?”
“Are you?”
Zelda sighed, exasperated. “Why does it have to be me stuck with you? What in the world was Hylia thinking? Clearly this is where the world as we know it ends.”
“We can only hope.”
“Are you two done bickering?”
They turned to see Impa standing in the doorway.
“Hyrule will be doomed if you can't learn to get alone.” Without another word, she turned back into the shrine.
Paya laughed lightly as she followed her grandmother, and with a glance to one another, Link and Zelda followed suit to begin their training.

Dark appears quite calm but I feel like he's easily annoyed, maybe not to the violent extent that certain things get him to but he's still easily annoyed by stuff, I feel like he would have slight OCD maybe? So if something wasn't quite in place (to a noticeable degree) he would become angered about it, probably has a stress ball hidden away somewhere lol. Anti has a chaotic personality, in the videos I've seen uploaded he appears angry, however I think when it comes to something (his knives) or someone (his s/o most likely) he cares about, he'll seem a lot gentler, with his s/o he'd definitely be somewhat nervous since I feel as though he'd be very new to the whole relationship deal... well this one went off track XD I need sleep lmao it's already 10pm and I've been awake since 6 XDD Also, for anyone who may be wondering, that last one for Anti became sorta self-indulgent since my mom stressed me out with family stuff (she had alcohol so she made it sound worse than it already is but still, it stressed me out and writing s/o stuff for Anti calmed me down.... also listening to Revali's theme from BotW calms me but we don't talk about that XDD if I remember I might start an Anti fanfic tomorrow... maybe XD

Descendent of Light
Chapter 2: The Gentle Brother
~Leola~
"Paragliding!?" Her Mother cried as she bandaged Raveli's arm. Raveli was sitting on his bed, their mother beside him. Mipha was in the other room with Urbosa and Daruk. Leola stood beside her Father quietly. Raveli winced, but otherwise didn't answer her.
"I can't believe you did something so reckless!" She cried. "And the fact that you climbed the tower!"
"...You shouldn't be so hard on him Zelda." She looked up at the man. "They were only trying to have fun."
He walked over to Revali and ruffled his hair. The boy laughed as he did so.
"Having fun!? Link, they nearly got themselves killed! Not only that, but they stole your paraglider!"
Link laughed nervously as he scratched the back of his head. Zelda gave him a stern look, before going back to bandaging Raveli's arm
"They get it from you, you know!"
"What? Being daring and charming?"
The two kids laughed as he flashed a 'Sidon' smile. "Link I'm being serious!"
He pouted as Zelda glared at him. She looked back at Raveli once more.
"...After this stunt, you two shouldn't go on the trip. No in fact...No one should go!"
Several gasps filled the cabin causing Leola to roll her eyes.
"No Mother!" Revali cried. "You have to let me go! This is the year Uncle Sidon's finally going to let me fight the blue Hinox!"
"This is-WHAT!?"
"Nothing!"
Zelda sighed and shook her head. Leola leaned on the wall as her older sister Urbosa strode in from the other room. Her red hair was tied into a ponytail, and her outlandish Gerudo armor made her even more captivating to watch.
"Mother, you must forgive their reckless behavior. They wouldn't do anything to jeopardize their relationship with you and Father. Yes, it was reckless but now they have learned their lesson."
She shot a small glare at Revali who shrank back slightly. Leola heard a small whimper from the other room which was most likely Mipha.
"Of course Urbosa would say this," Leola thought to herself. "All she cares about is going to Gerudo town...Again!”
Zelda sighed as she listened to her eldest daughter. "...Fine. I will allow the trip this year."
The cabin filled with cheers from her siblings. Leola shook her head and stood up from the wooden wall. She slipped past Urbosa, and rushed out of the cabin. Daruk blinked and watched his sister flee. A frown crossed his face and he rushed after her.
"Stupid Urbosa...Of course they always get to go on the trip...!"
"Leola?"
The girl jumped and looked behind her to see Daruk. His blonde hair was tied into a ponytail. At the end of his hair were red highlights. He frowned when he saw his sister's face. He walked over to a log and patted the seat next to him. Leola rubbed her arm, and slowly walked over to he log. She sat down beside him. "Tell me what's wrong."
"It's just..." She sighed and looked up at the orange sky. "...You guys get to travel to amazing places while I'm stuck with Mom and Dad...Don't get me wrong. I love them, but I'm tired of going to Kakariko Village, and Hateno Village every year while you four get to go Zora's Domain, Rito Village, Death Mountain, and Gerudo Town! Gerudo Town Daruk!"
"Well to be fair Revali and I aren't allowed to go there..."
Leola looked back at him and pouted. He sighed and patted her back. "Well on the bright side...You can dye your hair at Hateno Village."
"And ruin my good clothes? As much as that sounds, I wouldn't want to face Mom's wrath."
Daruk laughed nervously. "Yeah...She was so mad when Urbosa and Revali first did it."
She laughed. "I remember that! They were grounded for a month!"'
A soft smile crossed his face as he watched his sister laugh. "Remember that one time Revali dared Mipha decided to jump into the River of the Dead?"
His sister gasped loudly. "Dad had a heart attack!"
"And he had to pull out that red armor to save her!"
"Yes!"
The two continued to laugh as they shared stories of their siblings' failures.
Link watched them from the window. He smiled softly when he heard them laughing. "It seems I don't have to cheer her up anymore..." He looked up at the sky as the white moon began to rise. "...Maybe it's time to let her have her own journey..."
