My fave Sherlock BBC tropes: Enemies to Friends to Lovers
Around mid-month I’ll do a fic rec list with my fave AU genres or tropes. Summaries are taken from OP on AO3.
Enemy Number One by lookupkate
When Anderson finally crosses a line and gets fired a new pathologist takes his place. Sherlock isn't happy to find that the new doctor is almost as good at his job as Sherlock is. Said new doctor, John Watson, wants to woo the genius until he finds out what a prick he can be. Then he's just amused. And maybe a bit fond. And kind of smitten. Then he falls in love with the prick. Bloody hell.

John and Mary have been together for two years and John thinks they should probably settle down. John is happy with Mary. It's the only way their situation makes sense, so it must be happiness. Sherlock sees a flaw in that logic. What does John do then, when the strange man brings parts of his life into question and refuses to just bloody go away? Well, fall in love with him, of course.

When Victor Trevor backs out of the Holmes family Christmas at the last minute, Sherlock panics because he has no way to impress his parents. Thankfully there is a handsome army doctor with nowhere to go in his coffee shop, though it would be more helpful if he were a bit more willing.

Sherlock and John are both men who operate outside the law. John works for Mary and her hitmen in order to keep a roof over his head. Sherlock does anything his drug dealer asks of him in exchange for free drugs and housing.

With a little poking around, they stumble upon something much bigger than themselves and discover that perhaps, it might be in their best interests to work together.

(BBC Merlin is not technically the 1st fandom I was ever a part of, or even the 1st fandom I ever read fic for, but I do consider it my 1st real fandom because it’s the 1st fandom I interacted with as intensely as I interact with my fandoms now and it’s also the 1st fandom I ever wrote and posted fic for)

I haven’t felt the urge to read Merlin fic in years, but then I stumbled across this fic, which is honestly one of the funniest things I’ve read in a hot minute, and now my love for Merthur has reawakened within me with vengeance

In which Arthur is a water spirit who tries to drown Merlin. Merlin is not impressed.

Day 2: bookmark day

Aaron feels a thrill of nervousness pull unpleasantly in his belly. He doesn’t want to spend the night in a brightly-lit, overcrowded emergency room and have strangers prodding at him. He glances back at Andrew, who looks as disinterested as ever. He’s slouched over, hands in his lap and unmoving, face expressionless. He’s facing forward, but his eyes are on Aaron.
And Aaron’s halfway out the door when he swivels. Blurts, “You’ll come with me?"

Fandom: The Historian
among some talk of you and me by Hokuto
Reader, I pray that you will have the strength to walk with me a little longer.
I remember when I 1st found this fic I was so shocked cuz I had no idea anyone had even written fic for this book, but this is literally a perfect little epilogue because it has everything I loved from the book (scholarly nerdiness, libraries, and Dracula)
Day 3: old favorites
Fandom: BBC Sherlock
The World on His Wrist by bendingsignpost/ @bendingsignpost
First, he is shot in Afghanistan. Second, he wakes to a phone call in Chelmsford, Essex. Third is pain, fourth is normalcy, fifth is agony and sixth is confusion. By the eighth, he's lost track. (John-centric AU)
An exceedingly old favorite of mine, like literally one of the 1st fics I ever read on ao3, but I just learned today that I had apparently never commented on it previously, which made it perfectly on theme for this day of the fest
Fandom: Haikyuu!!

Shapeshifter!AU. Kenma struggles with a culture and the rules of courtship.
When I was in high school and at the peak of my sports anime phase, this was one of my fave fics, and so I loved revisiting it all these years later
Day 4: fandom curiosities
Fandom: Mysterious Lotus Casebook
Three Autumns by rageprufrock/ @rageprufrock
If Li Lianhua had known this mess would be waiting for him, he wouldn't have bothered to crawl out of his own grave.
The most I know of this show is what I’ve seen through a few gifs on my tumblr dashboard, but this fic made me fall so hard for the characters it’s not even funny
Fandom: Interview With the Vampire

With respect to Daniel’s life, pain in the ass is spelled A-R-M-A-N-D.
I have read one (1) book and watched one (1) episode of the show, so I barely have any idea who these characters are, but holy shit this dynamic compels me
Day 5: rec a fic
Fandom: Mo Dao Zu Shi

Fandom: Scum Villain’s Self-Saving System
Life is (not) a Hallmark Movie by mellicindi/ @mellicindi
Shen Yuan isn't lonely. He's just overseas in a new city, trying to muddle his way through a business degree, and dealing with the side effects of his stupid intestines trying to kill him. So, maybe he sometimes watches ASMR to cope with his too-quiet apartment. Maybe he has a little bit of a parasocial-relationship-thing going on with one particular cooking ASMR channel. It's 2016, who doesn't? The point is, he's content with his quiet life.
And then Shang Qinghua strong-arms him into watching one Hallmark Christmas movie, and it all goes to hell.
Or: Shen Yuan is a Hallmark movie protagonist, Luo Binghe is a Lifetime movie protagonist, and somehow they make it work.
I sadly missed the read-along this year, but this fic has been on my tbr since pretty much as soon as I started reading fic for this fandom, so I got to finally read it and it’s really fantastic

1. when did you first watch/discover good omens, and how did you find out about it?
i actually first heard about it after the first or second trailer for s1 dropped! idk how and when exactly that was (it's been a while) but i remember thinking 'oh i gotta watch this, it looks funny and has david tennant in it'. guess what. i didn't watch it until s2 came out and the entire internet was screaming about it. so i finally caved, asked for my friends amazon account (bc she had a prime account) and gave it a shot – the rest is history.
3. have you created any fanart or fanfiction, or really any content for the fandom?

9. have you seen any other work by david tennant and/or michael sheen?
oh yeah LOADS. i've been a fan of DT since i first watched doctor who back in 2011? or 2012? and i've seen the twilight saga films lots of times (aro was always a fave).
now, After-GO, i've seen/listened to a lot of davids stuff (like idk, 50 or 60%? which is a lot bc he has done soo much things) and i'm currently "working on" michaels filmography :) 'm watching masters of sex atm and i just bought tickets for the cinema run of Nye, since i wasn't able to see it in person when i was in london 2 weeks ago, sadly.
11. what is (if you read) your favourite type of human au for good omens? (ex. coffee shop au, surgeons au, plant store au
i adored almost every human au i've read so far!! but the two i'm obsessed with are that one actors au everyone and their mother knows and read (Slow Show on ao3, don't have a link rn sorryy) and the formula 1 au (idk how that happened, i don't even watch f1, it's just so good) i'm currently reading.
16. do you know anyone irl who has also watched good omens?
UHM YEAH but that's because i made them watch it lmao. a few of my close friends, that is. but besides them... nope.
19. have you ever read the crowley therapy fic (the most-read fic in the fandom)?
yep! i took me a while bc it was... A Lot but i finished it a few weeks ago. let's say it fucking destroyed me yup yup ✌🏻
23. what's a good omens headcanon that you considered canon?
idk if this is considered a headcanon but... they kissed in 1941. 100%.
24. what's a theory for season 3 that you NEED to be included?
hmm i'm not sure. like, i really like all those theories going around, but i'm traumatised by bbc sherlock so i'm trying not to get my hopes up lmao. again idk if that's considered a headcanon or theory, but i think we're likely gonna see (parts of) crowleys fall and i think it will also play a part in the plot. also: book of life shenanigans. and bamf aziraphale dismantling heaven (and hell). OH and a part 3 of 1941. (maybe a kiss...? 👉🏻👈🏻). yeah.

A - Ships that you currently like a lot. (They don’t have to be OTPs because not everyone has OTPs.) Friendships, pairings, threesomes, etc. are allowed.
Well number 1 has to be my ineffables, Crowley/Aziraphale from Good Omens. I’ll read allllll the fic - the angsty post s02 pining/reunion fics, the post s01 long friendship realized fics, the south downs retirement fics, hell even the human au fics (although those are a bit more hit or miss for me). I just cannot get enough of them!!! They are the ultimate to me. The outpouring of fic and art and meta post s02 makes being in the fandom extra fun rn. Also I like both the ace and allo interpretations, if the writing is good.
My number 1 used to be Johnlock, specifically from BBC Sherlock. While we all know how that show fucked up, Johnlock fic still has a special place in my heart and I find myself revisiting favorites often. Similar to Good Omens, the post s02 Reichenbach fall hiatus art/fic/meta was a great great time and makes me smile to remember it.
Nick x Charlie from Heartstopper are adorable and sweet and are definitely my fluffy pairing. Alex and Henry from RWRB are like their older siblings in a way - I just love them too (more book versions for Alex and Henry, although the movie was lovely, I just feel like the book goes more in depth).
Also love Merthur (specificially from BBC Merlin). I don’t even really like the show??? but I looovveeee the fic world, especially when the whole ensemble makes an appearance. Modern AUs are really fun for me in this verse.
Gotta shoutout my OG ot3 Parker/Hardison/Elliot from Leverage. Their canon relationship was beautifully developed and I love when fic takes it to the next level. Lots of found family vibes, idiots to lovers, all the best tropes.
The first ship I ever read fic for was Rose x The Doctor (Nine or Ten) over on whofic.com. They’re still a huge ship for me (Doomsday still makes me cry fuck) so even tho I don’t seek out fic as much anymore I still reblog a lot of gifsets and stuff.
I was on the Stucky train HARD for the longest time, and I still go back and read fic, especially from the Winter Soldier or Endgame fix it era. Another Marvel ship I read a lot of was Matt/Foggy from the Netflix Daredevil. Avengers era ensemble fics (everyone living in Stark Tower) are also a favorite.
I went hard on Drarry for a while and I still go back to certain fics but I wouldn’t say it’s a current favorite per say.
Gonna save my last big favorite ship for the next question cause it fits really well.
B - A pairing–platonic, romantic or sexual–that you initially didn’t consider, but someone changed your mind.
So!! My last big main ship is Bagginshield (Thorin/Bilbo from the Hobbit) and this is one that I didn’t really even get into until I read The Riven Crown by beautifulfiction. She was one of my fave Sherlock authors and so when I saw she had written Hobbit fic I was like welllllll normally I don’t read fic of written media (especially Tolkien cause I grew up reading Middle Earth); but it’s B soooo I’ll give it a try. And oh my fucking god I was HOOKED. And now Bagginshield is probably #3 in terms of how many fics I have bookmarked and how often I think about them lol. Richard Armitage knew what the fuck he was doing as Thorin in those movies. I also love the ensemble aspect with all the dwarves and I love fics (like the Riven Crown) where it gets into the bureaucracy of rebuilding a kingdom like Erebor and also rebuilding trust in the aftermath of Thorin’s gold lust.
There’s other pairings I love (Booth/Brennan from Bones, Kanthony from Bridgerton, all the Sense8 relationships, some Zutara) but I think these are the main ones for me.

At its core this has always been a multifandom blog but currently I'm mainly a House MD blog. I can and will post about other fandoms as I see fit/want to. Most likely candidates will be BBC Sherlock, Supernatural, and Star Trek: TNG. I do like Sailor Moon, Criminal Minds, Prodigal Son, and My Babysitter's a Vampire so those may show up too.
House MD specific shit:
I'm a multishipper and really into queer and neurodivergent headcanons. Gonna list my most common ships/headcanons here.
Ships: Hilson, Choreman, Chase/Park, Taubner, and Hudson
Queer headcanons: I firmly believe no one in the main cast is cishet and can even be queer in multiple different interpretations but some of my faves are bi arospec House, nonbinary Thirteen, genderfluid Chase, transmasc lesbian Park, and gay Taub!
Neurodivergent headcanons: House, Cameron, Chase, and Thirteen are all autistic. Kutner and Park are auDHD. Basically everyone is mentally ill in some fashion.

hello readers!!! let me tell you about my writing process. i’m more of a “pantser” when it comes to writing, which is like a writing term for someone who doesn’t really plot or outlines. they write by the “seat of their pants”.
i’ve been writing on and off since the early 2010s, but i’ve recently decided to come back and stick with it. i’m still learning how to write smut and plot driven works, which is where i struggle a bit. but other than that, i think im pretty decent for someone who took an impromptu 4 year break. anyways, let’s get to the actual faq, shall we? 🤎
📹 who do you write for? — i write for myself. first and foremost. i am a 5’2ft curvy latina with curly/wavy hair and pale skin. some of my work will have a reader with those features. but, for the most part, i tend to naturally write completely ambiguous readers, especially when the fic does not revolve around them or is devoid of any smut. for the fics that i’ve written in those features, i will include a disclaimer at the beginning.

My 2020 Sherlolly Self Interview
Thanks for organizing this fun activity @sherlollyappreciationweek! 🎉 I’ll start out with a very brief “about me” section-
I live in the northeast area of the USA, I’ve been married for seventeen years, have one teenage son, and I’m in my *gulp* late thirties now. I do volunteer ministry work and also work part time from home. Among other leisure activities, obviously I love writing! I started writing original fiction when I was a preteen, but I’ve been writing fanfic under the pen name “writingwife83” for over six years now. I discovered fanfic and the world of online fandom after becoming obsessed with BBC Sherlock in 2014 after s3 aired. I read The Full House, fell in love with the whole concept of fanfic, specifically for sherlolly, and couldn’t help but give it a go myself. And as they say, the rest is history!
Below the cut I’ll talk about some of the topics and fics suggested by followers/readers. Buckle up cuz it’s a lot lol...
Ok, first up to be kind enough to give me some feedback is @readstoomuch. You said- “what inspires you. Any story (I love them all!). Who do you love writing? Who is hardest for you? And which is that one story that you had fun doing?”
As for what inspires me, first and foremost it’s the show and characters itself. Watching those two on screen, it’s not hard to be inspired! But beyond that, I find a lot of inspiration in music and art, and just generally in other creative works and people. I think for a while I had my own internal inspiration and no lack of it, but as months dragged into years lol, I have found that the rest of the shippers are invaluable in filling the gaps when I lack inspiration and motivation. Some prompts I’ve gotten from others have taken on a life I never would have expected, and that’s pretty great. I honestly don’t think writing works best as a purely solitary activity. I know myself and although there is an aspect of my writing that will always be “for me,” that’s absolutely not all it is. It’s the fun of creating with others and it’s the fun of sharing with others.
As for who I love writing and who’s hardest, I think I’ve always felt pretty comfortable writing the main characters in Sherlock. I probably especially love writing Sherlock himself because he’s fun to break down and really dig deep into his emotions and thought processes. There have definitely been times some of the side characters have overwhelmed me and made me nervous about conveying their voices accurately. For instance, Mycroft can be tough if it involves pulling him out of his shell in a way that still feels believable and true to character.
That one story I had fun doing? Well there’s no way I can say just one. 😆 As far as reader response, there’s no other fic that can compare to the fun of I Told You So, that’s for sure. But as far as the actual plotting and creating, I think the fics I’ve had the most fun with are the multi-chapters I’ve done since becoming good friends with @thisisartbylexie. Having her as a sounding board, plotting buddy, and editor has absolutely increased my creating fun and has definitely also made me a better writer.

Alrighty, @thisisartbylexie, you asked- if there's a fic that you ever wanted to go back to change in some way, which one would it be and why? Which one do you feel "oh wow, did I write that?" in a super positive way?
Idk how to choose just one fic. There are plenty that could use some changing lol! One I’d like to fix though, would be Pleased to Meet You. I know (because I’ve been told) that there’s inaccuracies in that one seeing as I’m not personally familiar with university settings in the UK. I did actually attempt research and I thought I got the idea, but apparently it didn’t work out terribly well. But the plotting and progression of that fic is one I’ve always been happy with, so I guess I feel like it’s a shame if it came off messy in some general ways and distracted from the rest of it. I like how I was able to weave that one into the canon of the show up to that point. And tbh it actually still fits as a uni backstory for them without any conflicts to the canon. As much as I enjoy canon divergence and AU, I also have a big soft spot for fics that simply connect seamlessly to what we’ve already been given.
As for “oh wow, did I write that?” I think one of my proudest accomplishments has been Zephyr. That fic kinda has it all lol. The tropes, the pining, the romance, the Victorian setting...ugh I love it. And there’s a climactic kiss moment in that fic that’s one of my faves I’ve written. I’m so glad I wrote it because of the Sherlolly Remix Challenge in ‘16, and at your suggestion, Lexie. But I will also be forever sad that I had to release that fic all at once on AO3 once completed. That fic would have been great fun to be writing and posting as I went along! And on top of being happy with the fic itself and how it came out, I’m awfully proud of the fact that you were excited enough about the fic to illustrate it, and that @goodshipsherlolly enjoyed it enough to record it as an audio fic. Honestly, what more could a writer ask for? 🥺
@mizjoely, you said you’d like to hear anything about The Queen’s Man. Okey doke, you got it lol!
I actually went back and read through most of that fic when I got this because it had been a long time since I’d looked at it. I gotta be honest that in hindsight...I’m a little surprised it did as well as it did.😂🙈 As some may remember, it started because I saw a magnificent manip and wanted to write something to go with it, and then because that was well received, somehow it just kept going. I did very little world building and development of characters in that fic. It was largely just one shippy, romantic, pining scene after another lol. At the end I did kinda tie it all in and wrapped the story up ok, but it was definitely one of those self indulgent fics where I didn’t feel like doing the hard parts and really just wanted to write the fun stuff. Don’t get me wrong, I loved writing it, and I’m so glad it got the positive reception that it did! But it just kinda makes me laugh because it goes to show sometimes you don’t know what’s going to do really well. You could agonize over clever plotting and world building and character development etc, and be so super proud of the finished product and all your hard work, but then you share and the response is like “meh.” And then other times you legit just throw something together with barely any careful thought, and the crowd goes wild! But aside from all that, the visuals in my head of that AU are just too drool worthy to me. Molly in Medieval royal attire? Sherlock in dark armor with a Purple Tunic of Sex™️ underneath? The two of them lingering in the dimly lit hallways and rooms of a castle and gazing endlessly in mutual pining? Yes to all.

Ok wow, see what I mean? That was long! 🤣 If you read all the way through this whole thing, *Moriarty voice* thank you...bless you. Honestly, this ship is amazing and I don’t think I’ll ever have a writing experience anywhere else like I’ve had here. I’ve seen the other side of things in another fandom now, so I can all the more so confirm that there’s no ship quite like sherlolly. The warmth, reception, and longevity is mind blowing and I’m just awfully happy to have played a part in creating for the beauty that is Sherlock Holmes and Molly Hooper. 💕

John has to somehow rebuild his life in the wake of Mary's betrayal and Sherlock's deceptions.

Fandoms: BBC Sherlock for fanfic. I used to write in Stargate SG-1, Stargate Atlantis and due South. There were also a couple of Torchwood, Slings and Arrows and Wilby Wonderful snippets as well as an Alexander/ Hephaestion one shot too!
Where you post: My fics are posted on AO3. I occasionally post on tumblr and twitter, but not often .I have a dreamwidth account too, also as berty, but that is mostly to keep up with friends from fandoms past!
Most popular multi-chapter fic: What The Heart Wants is my most popular story in Sherlock. It’s one chapter as I’m not a great fan of chapters but for the purists, Stradivarius is eight chapters and almost has as many hits as WTHW.
Favourite story you’ve written so far: Oh, ummmm, well in Sherlock it is probably The House on Rue des Boulangers. But I have a fondness for Non Linear System in Stargate Atlantis and Finding the Words in due South.
Fic you were nervous to post: Ha ha! All of them! But I guess What The Heart Wants for several reasons. It was my first stab at the Sherlock fandom, it was Sherlock’s POV which was hard, and it was supposed to be humour. Posting humour is always a gamble - I have a quirky sense of humour and it doesn’t always come across.
How you choose your titles: Oh, this is not my favourite thing to do. I sometimes take a line from the story and use that. Lyrics also get a share of the glory. Occasionally the title comes to me immediately as I begin to write, but rarely.
Do you outline: Sometimes. House on Rue des Boulangers , Chances Are and Those Who Dream Of The Sky were all outlined but others I will just hammer it out and see where it goes.
Complete: 23 Sherlock stories, 60+ Stargate SG-1 stories, 50 + due South stories plus extras. 166 works in total although many are one shots and shorts. Over 800,000 words posted on Ao3.
In progress: I have another Fit Of Fashion story half written and two Christmas fics on the go.
Coming soon/not yet started: I have a load of ideas that may or may not ever see the light of day including a Dragon!Sherlock sequel, an Apollo 13-esque Sherlock fic, a GeniusLoci fic that may or may not be a Rivers of London crossover and an A-Z AU with alternate first meetings for Sherlock and John. It’s good to have options..
Do you accept prompts: I haven’t up to now, but it’s something I am considering. I don’t get a great deal of time to write, so my pace can be rather erratic and I would hate to disappoint someone.
Upcoming story you are most excited to write: The Apollo 13 story - this one will need a lot of research and an outline. I don’t want 1970s Sherlock and John, so I will need to bend some edges to make it all fit. And I really want to do it justice, so I’m kind of terrified to begin.
Upcoming story you are most excited about: Well, I love Christmas fics at any time of year, but one of the ones I have on the go now is turning out to be rather sweet - (hopefully) funny and a teensy bit angsty, it’s a very ‘me’ story. I want to say it will be ready in time, but it’s the 13th already and it needs many hours of work yet, so we will see.

Also Over Hill and Under Hill because it was the first Sherlock fanfic I wrote.
9. Fic you want to rewrite/expand on: I have new installments planned for the Summer Boy series and my Over/Under series. I have this vague idea for a sequel to The Horse and His Doctor. Also, some plot bunnies have been nagging me for some time. One demands a fic inspired by the Sharpe-series (I’d probably name it Watson’s Rifles). The other wants one based on the Spaghetti-Western My Name is Nobody with Terrence Hill and Henry Fonda ...
10. Share a bit of your WIP or share a story idea that you’re planning: This is an excerpt from chapter 16 of my Tour de France AU Slipstream which is currently in the works:
As the first drops of rain hit him and John ducks down more deeply behind his aerobars, his earpiece crackles into life. Expecting some gentle, well-meant advice from Sam, John is surprised to hear his coach curse instead. “Bloody hell, what the fuck is this? John, prepare yourself for company.”
John’s head perks up. He frowns. Company can only mean that the rider who started two minutes after him is about to catch up. It’s not impossible, although if he remembers correctly, the man currently ranking at 31st in the GC isn’t known for his particular prowess as a time trialist. Perhaps he has a good day, muses John as he continues to ride at a speed comfortable for him. No use in wearing himself out on this hill when there’s a long stretch with strong, rainy headwind yet to come.
“Didn’t think I was this slow for Mortimer to catch up with me,” John tells Sam via radio. “Isn’t he more of a mountain goat?”
He hears Sam make a strangled sound. “It’s not Mortimer about to overtake you, John,” they say.
“What? Who else?”
“Victor Trevor.”

1. Fic you spent the most time on: Coventry probably took me a over a year to write, because I didn’t yet have the discipline to write regularly. I spent longer researching The Last Companion, especially learning how to swear in Mandarin.
2. Fic you spent the least time on: At the first Fic Writers’ Retreat, we did a quickie exercise to write about “arguing over a domestic thing”, and I wrote A Little Domestic in about ten minutes.
3. Longest Fic: Coventry, at 52K and change.
4. Shortest Fic: I’ve got a number of 221Bs. I love them as a writing exercise.
5. Most hits: Coventry. I’m still in shock about it.
6. Most kudos: Tango, one of the first fics I wrote. I gifted it to the super supportive @atlinmerrick in thanks for the encouragement she gave me when I was first starting, and she wrote the bestest comment and recommendation ever, and it took off.
7. Most comment threads: Always 1895. I loved how people got involved with that story.
8. Fave Fic you wrote: Gah. Ask me to chose my favourite child? I’m grateful to all the stories for showing up.

Fic you want to rewrite/expand on: I have a few ideas for continuations on stories – just finished the first draft of another adventure in the Coventry universe, with the boys solving another case in Canada (a FTH commission); I also have ideas for little ficlets for The Last Companion, Toe to Toe, Always 1895. I even have a plot bunny ficlet story from the Deep series, but I might be going a bit too far back for that one.
10. Share a bit of your WIP or share a story idea that you’re planning: The Coventry one mentioned above, called Million Dollar Coin; another FTH commission called Hunger/Lust (in the editing stage, should post in the next month or so), with John discovering that he has a kink for watching Sherlock eat; a post-apocalyptic WIP that I put on hold for a while when things got too intense in the world already, but I still want to finish it. Just started working on a Fleabag crossover.

your favorite fics for all time (which you regularly reread)? any fandoms
so i figured today was a good day to queue this up for, some people probably need a distraction and rec lists are good for that. these are mostly fairly long, bc short fics tend to slip from my memory lol, and all are complete.
2 fics immediately spring to mind:
Unwilling Sleep and Sadie Sadie, both Pet Shop of Horrors D/Leon fics
Something about the author’s writing is just like, the absolute ideal of what I want fanfic to be, and like every time I've mentioned one to someone I accidentally read like the first paragraph and end up sucked back in and reading the whole thing again.
But in general there aren’t a lot of fics I can say I regularly re-read, partly bc when I move on from a fandom I only go back to read old fic when I’m feeling nostalgic, but there are still a few other great fics I’ve enjoyed enough to read at least twice
Cafestrovalva - Doctor/Master, fluffy, with a good twist, I think this is my fave Doctor/Master fic in general.
Chasing the Paradox - was my fave of the post-season 3 Ten/Simm fics, re-read it last year while feeling nostalgic and felt like it held up v well
Drop Dead Gorgeous - Harry/Draco classic that I read back in the day as it was written and re-read a lot more recently and still really enjoyed. I’m sure part of it is nostalgia lol, but I do think it holds up if you’re on board with the sense of humour.
A Better Man might be my fave Due South fic but oh man it’s so low key devastating. I don’t think you can fully appreciate it without both knowing the canon and having the same strong opinions about it that I do lol but I’m still reccing it bc it’s so good.
Heart and Mouth - not the type of hannigram fic I’d usually be into but it’s just like, stupidly good? this is one of the rare fics I read mainly for the actual writing
The Simplest Way Forward - I hate how much I loved this fic lol, I usually avoid full on kidfic and mildly dislike mundane AUs but wangxian breaks all my rules somehow
Aaaaand I’m going to add a few more fics that I've only read once but that were good enough to really stick in my mind, and recent enough that I feel like I can mostly trust my judgement lol, hopefully there’s not some random terrible thing i completely forgot in any of these:
How the mouth changes its shape - I think this is technically a BBC Sherlock fic but it works just fine as an AU f/f Sherlock Holmes fic in general.
Unaccomodated Man - Black Sails Flint/Thomas fic, absolutely fantastic writing
Something of Vengeance - Sherlock Holmes and Jeeves and Wooster crossover
We Want Haddock - I feel like this is a perfect Jeeves and Wooster fic despite not being Jeeves/Wooster lol
Ravenous - hannigram but mostly gen, this sticks out in my mind as the kind of fic I’d recommend to someone who’d never read fic before
Bitter Glass - Kirk/Spock, good enough to justify the first person perspective, which says it all really
The Charioteer in the City of Har - just a solid fun plotty very gay xena/gab fic
Storms of War - another gr8 xena fic, more plot and character study than romance but it’s still there, v long
Truth and Measure - same author who wrote the D/Leon fics, it’s Devil Wears Prada which isn’t a fandom I ever really got into but the fic is still so good
Demonology and the Tri-Phasic Model of Trauma - just a really good outsider pov good omens fic

1. Tell us about your current project(s) – what’s it about, how’s progress, what do you love most about it?
My main current projects are the mdzs x soul eater au and my detective conan x bbc sherlock x-over, because apparently all I do is write crack crossovers ahaha
The issue is, I have plans for the next chapter of tmq and like 3 one shots for gmosc but I haven't actually had the time to write them bc u know. school. covid. the us election. so many things.
I think what I love most about both of these is the world building I get to do to stitch the universes together, in a way that makes at least some modicum of sense (hopefully ahaha)
2. Tell us about what you’re most looking forward to writing – in your current project, or a future project
kaito and conan interacting............it's been 84 years........

tmq, fave line written for next chapter (so far):

gmosc, fave line for wip 2:
