I made a bracelet with Takemichi’s name on it so I’m writing about it.

You remember it like it was yesterday even though it was twelve years ago. You made matching bracelets for Takemichi as a tribute to your little friendship. That friendship had bloomed into a little relationship between you two.

“Eh? What’s this?” Takemichi asked, looking at the bracelet with your name on it. You blushed slightly and turned away from him. “Just…something special.” You say lowly. Takemichi smiles and slides on the bracelet, it was a perfect fit for his wrist.

“It looks so nice, thank you _______!” Takemichi compliments. You smile, happy to know that he likes it. “If it ever breaks, just let me know and I’ll fix it, alright?” You tell him. He nods and smiles, watching you walk off into the distance.

You never took the bracelet off even when you were being a badass and punching the absolute shit outta people. Takemichi remembered during a random fight when he saw you wearing the bracelet while punching some goon. It made his heart flutter knowing that the bracelets actually meant that much to you.

Twelve years passed and he still kept the bracelet. He had always took a glimpse at it when times were hard or when he thought about you. Coincidentally, he met you again in the rental shop where he was looking for a movie. As he searched the shelves, he bumped into you while he had scanned the shelves.

“Ah! Excuse me-“ He paused, seeing that damned charm bracelet on your wrist. The beads spelling out his name had made him realized that he had bumped into the very woman who made the bracelets. The woman whose name was on HIS bracelet.

You look up at him and your eyes slowly widen as you see the bracelet on his wrist. “T-TAKEMICHI!?” You exclaimed, surprised to see that he still had the bracelet on. Takemichi was speechless, still in shock to know that he had bumped into you. “_-______…” He muttered, tears beginning to appear in his eyes.

You smile, happy to see him and his stupid crying face. “Hehe…a crybaby as usual…huh Takemichi?” You said, your lips quivering. Takemichi hugs you tightly so happy to reunite with you.

And with that, the lost bracelets had finally been paired again.

Okay but can you imagine if something awful does end up happening to Kazuki after the organization learns more about him and Rei’s situation with Miri? Like maybe he gets shot and is critically wounded, or maybe he’s tortured to the point of unconsciousness.

Can you imagine Rei, after eliminating everyone standing in his way, finally stumbling upon Kazuki? Kazuki, who is nearly lifeless. And Rei loses his last bit of composure. He runs to Kazuki and falls to his knees. He scrambles to check for any sign of life, the entire time mumbling “No no no please no,” unable to forget the photo of his mentor’s wife, desperately praying that Kazuki hasn’t succumbed to the same fate. And he’s unable to control the tears that flood his eyes when he finally hears the faint breath that escapes Kazuki’s lips.

Can you imagine Kazuki waking up days later in a hospital room, only to realize that Rei is fast asleep at his bedside, slumped over and holding his hand? Kazuki can’t help but smile because it reminds him of the day he found Rei sleeping in the same position next to a sick Miri. He reaches out his free hand to ruffle Rei’s hair, and leans down to whisper, “Rei? Reiii~?” Rei shifts in his seat and slowly opens his eyes, but quickly sits up once he sees Kazuki. “You’re awake!” Kazuki notices that Rei’s eyes are bloodshot; he clearly hasn’t gotten much sleep in the however many days it’s been. But surprisingly he appears to have showered and is wearing clean clothes. Kazuki figured Kyu-chan has probably been looking out for him and Miri, thank goodness. “Where’s Miri?” “With Kyu.” Bingo. I’ll have to make him a meal as a thank you.

A silence lingers in the air for quite some time, but is broken by the sound of Rei’s hitched breathing. “I thought… I thought I lost you.” Kazuki stares at Rei, who has his head hung low. He suddenly feels Rei’s grip tighten on his hand. Rei looks up at Kazuki with tears in his eyes. But he’s smiling. “I’m so glad you’re okay.” The smile is the biggest one that Kazuki has ever seen on Rei’s face, and it makes him look almost child-like. Without hesitation, Kazuki reaches out to cup Rei’s cheek in his palm and wipes a stray tear away with his thumb. “Hey~ don’t cry! You’re right, I’m just fine! See? I’m right here. You’re not gonna lose me. I’m not going anywhere.” Rei nods against Kazuki’s hand, sniffling but still smiling.

Suddenly there’s a soft knock on the door, and Kyu peeks his head into the room. “Ah, good. You’re awake.” Almost as if on cue, Miri shoves her way past Kyu and into the room. “Kazuki papaaaa!” Miri runs toward the bed, but it’s too high for her to climb. “Ups! I want ups!” Kyu walks over to lift her up, cautioning her, “Careful now. Your papa’s fragile.” “Hey, who’re you callin’ fragile?!” Miri carefully scoots her way closer to Kazuki’s side. “Kazuki papa! Are you feeling all better now? Are you gonna come home with me and Rei papa? We miss you sooo much!” Miri looks at Kazuki with puppy dog eyes, and Kazuki chuckles. “Ah is that so? Well, I’ve gotta wait for the nice doctors to say it’s okay for me to leave. But once that happens, we’ll all go home together! And I’ll never leave you or Rei papa again, okay?” Kazuki turns his gaze towards Rei. “Because we’re a family, after all.”
