Kaeyappreciation post!
Kaeya is wonderful in a sense that he:
Has a penmanship described as "Beautiful Handwriting". He for sure worked on that.
Willingly spends his time making sure his outfit looks perfect
Is well-loved by Mondstadt and the Dawn Winery staff
Is described to like a prince, both in looks and in actions
Is shown to be gentle and caring to children and elderly, most seen with Klee and the staff from Dawn Winery
Is a great listener and, therefore, also knows what gifts to buy based off of something someone said in passing
Is predominantly kind- unafraid to help out and defend someone in need. His first reaction is always kindness, and worry about covering up that kindness later on
But Kaeya also has his moments where he:
Says things out of pocket with enough alcohol in his system. Things that usually lead to shame and regret.
Would rather give others the credit for his hard work if he could help it
Intentionally makes himself look suspicious by withholding information and only throwing tidbits that are not of substance
Has sadist tendencies, which affects how he treats both his (cavalry) company and his enemies
Can and will use underhanded tactics to gain the upper hand
Rarely ever says what he truly wants to say
Has a fake smile. Usually lies or only deals with half truths.
He is such a complex character. I really do want people to appreciate him and his intricacies more. The fact that his entire personality and story is done so well and continues to actually grow and expand as the story progresses is something that genuinely makes me want to keep watch of him. I have never, in all my fandoms, stuck to a character as long as I did with Kaeya, and honestly? I know I'm not alone with this.

I'm so scared of telling my psychiatrist or my psychologist that i think i have OCD because what if they think I'm just faking it just like my brain tells me and i did way too much research and I'm just trying to get diagnosed something i don't have (i literally had a compulsion because i had obsessive thoughts about this and it gave me so much anxiety)
#i just started to scratch my arm so bad and now it burns a lot and it's not the first time this has happened#even tho i literally hate attention and it took me 3 years to tell someone my brain was touring me. just to get invalidated#i don't know what to do because I don't want to have another compulsion#and my brain keeps telling me i don't have OCD and I'm just seeking attention#vent#i need to know if i have OCD or not because my brain literally won't shut up#and I'm on meds!! drugs that are supposed to calm down my anxiety but i think i have too much anxiety for them to work#because it's been a week and i don't feel less anxious (i mean i literally had a compulsion i think that says it all)#i think i just need a higher dosis tho my psychiatrist said she'll see if i needed more

The whole Vecna squad was writing down their favorite songs just in case. Everyone's giggling and poking fun at each other for their song choices and for a moment, it feels like they're all just normal people, teenagers, hanging out.
Steve passes the paper and pen to Eddie with a small smile. Eddie smirks back, he's so ready to tease Harrington to high hell because he knows he probably put down something by Madonna. He doesn't get the satisfaction though.
"Queen?"
Steve can't help but roll his eyes. "What? What's wrong with Queen?"
"There's nothing wrong with Queen. I just expected something closer to Like a Virgin from you, Harrington. Maybe even some Cyndi Lauper." The shit eating grin on Eddie's face was so wide it almost hurt.
"Well I guess you don't know me as well as you thought, Munson." Steve muttered as he crossed his arms and pouted. Seriously a full on pout. Lips downturned and puckered. Who even was this guy?
"If this had happened a year ago, Steve would've totally had to write down Into The Groove. Seriously man every single time be picked me up for school he was playing that fucking so-" Dustin was interrupted by a shove from Steve's foot. The man was blushing like crazy. Cute.
"Hey. No badmouthing Madonna, asshole. And stop telling everyone my business!"
They went back and forth as Eddie smiled something soft and scribbled down his own favorite song. This felt normal. Things felt ok.
"You're just another sucker ready for a fall"
Eddie's not sure why he was thinking about that moment right now. Maybe it's because it happened less than twelve hours ago and Steve had been ok. He'd been a little roughed up but he was fine. He'd been smiling and talking to Eddie. He was fine. So why was Eddie watching him be lifted up and away from him right now?
There was no warning. Or maybe there had been and Steve was too much of a fucking martyr to tell anyone. Eddie felt helpless as Steve's feet left the ground. Nancy, with her quick reaction time and lack of hesitation, had managed to get the headphones on Steve's head before he started levitating. Dustin was holding on to the Walkman for dear life as the tape inside played.
"You gotta fight from the inside, attack from the rear"
"Ya know, the song is kinda perfect for this. The theme of it is scarily fitting. You plan this somehow, Harrington?"
Steve had laughed when Eddie said that. A beautiful and deep laugh.
"No I didn't plan it, man. My timing with shit is just perfect."
And that had made Eddie roll his eyes. This guy really was full of himself huh? Fuck. Eddie was absolutely gone on him.
Steve kept rising.
He kept getting farther and farther away and every centimeter of distance between them set Eddie's nerves on fire.
"Fight from the inside, you can't win with your hands tied"
It really was a different kind of agony to have someone you care about suffering within arms reach yet not being able to do a damn thing. All they could do was press play and hope that the music reached him.
All that was left to do now was wait. Wait and pray that Steve could find his way back to them.
