#muse. kaedehara kazuha   /   :   wandering samurai.
Jemisha and Elrwen were the next to show up. The two cousins looked at each other as they scratched their ears looking around. They had both brought a bouquet of white roses to give to the person they were supposed to meet.
"Come on, they should be around here...." Kazuha heard Ganyu said while the two were looking about. They were told of two new faces to meet or at least to this new world. So they decided to give it a shot.
"I'm sure they are around somewhere......" Kazuha sighed walking down the path to look around but he only stops seeing two. "Hmm?"
"What's wrong?" Ganyu looks seeing him noticing Jemisha and Elrwen. Is that the two?

kazuha is 100% the type that enjoys burying his face in between someone’s shoulder blades. it’s a place of comfort - where he can inhale their scent, and soak up their body heat. a rarity he hardly indulges in, considering the gesture is quite... intimate. enough so, that he doesn’t do it often anymore, if ever at all.

— a promise that was made to be broken.
character[s] — kaedehara kazuha. theme & genre — fluff if you squint, angst, arranged marriage.   summary — you are betrothed to kazuha of the kaedehara clan. when the vision hunt decree is issued and your fiance is labelled a criminal, he escapes from inazuma, leaving you behind with a promise. years later, he returns, keeping his part of the promise, but it seems you were forced to break it. cw/tw — breakup?? can u call it that, sad kazuha. word count — 2024 words a/n — i swear ill write fluff soon just let me. cry.
Tumblr media
kazuha, the wanted fugitive of inazuma.
and you, the daughter of a highly-esteemed clan in inazuma. you'd known him since you both were children, because of his past in the kaedehara clan.
when you were younger, you knew you were to be married off to kazuha when he got older. your family and the kaedehara family's alliance was supposed to combat the latter clan's quick decline, atleast that's what your family hoped for. sure enough, you spent all your time around the young boy, hoping to establish a connection before you were to be wed.
kazuha was a man of mystery. his words flowed like a river of depth, mist hazing over the skies as you tried to unscramble his puzzling nature. he had a tender smile gracing his features, highly contrasting his cold glare when he was disheartened. he was silent, but whenever he spoke, you swore you saw petals fall out of his mouth. his voice was enough to captivate you, like a siren's call. it was a trance, but you didn't care.
nevertheless of what you thought about kazuha, he was your future husband.
so you tried. you tried to love him; for him, and for yourself. and you succeeded, because you often found yourself deeply enchanted by everything he did. when the wind howled, you swore you could feel his breath on your skin, you could hear his soft whispers against your ears.
when kazuha returned from travelling; for he was a wandering soul; he would tell you all about his journey with great interest. he would call you his 'muse', and recite a poem he'd written while thinking about you.
to make up for the time he'd spent away, he would have his hands on your waist the entire night, holding you close to his chest as he lay down, the warmth of his body giving you all the reassurance you needed. your breaths in sync with his, soft snoring filling the dark, in cold nightly atmosphere of narukami as the billion stars above you twinkled.
as for now, you missed it. you missed kazuha. for he was gone. again. and this time, for good.
you felt it coming somewhere deep down, though. you had a feeling he would have to leave one day. a part of you hoped it wasn't so soon.
although, if you had to pinpoint where exactly you felt it started to fall apart, you would say it was the day when the vision hunt decree was announced.
you remember hearing the leader of the tenryou commission talk about the raiden shogun, the goddess of electro's new plan to achieve eternity. this shocked you greatly, when you heard that vision bearers were to give away their visions with no complaints. you didn't have a vision, but it felt odd to give a gift from the archons, back to them.
kazuha had a vision too, an anemo one. and so did your friend, tomo. you were worried for them, and what would happen when their visions would be taken away. they would be shattered. so you, kazuha and tomo decided to hide, like offenders, although you'd never done anything wrong.
kazuha had always expressed the desire to be free, and so did tomo. but tomo chose another way of getting his freedom back, one that resulted in many consequences.
one day, came the sudden passing of tomo.
he'd challenged the raiden shogun to abolish the decree, a fight for freedom, but he was slain in battle. kazuha, who'd seen everything, grabbed tomo's vision before it could be seized and ran as fast as his feet could carry him.
he came to your house later that night, not as your fiance from a famed samurai clan, but as a wanted criminal.
"y/n." you heard a panicked voice outside your balcony. you peeked outside to see kazuha, tired, and he looked like he was about to cry.
"kazuha...! what happened?" you cupped his cheeks, raising a brow. "why're you here so late at night?" you noticed his bruises on his hands, scorched and rough.
"tomo, he's- he's-" kazuha tried to speak, but he couldn't bring himself to face the reality. "he was slain because he decided to fight the shogun."
you couldn't believe what you were hearing. perhaps that's why you chose not to believe. you chose not to believe kazuha was leaving you, and you prayed you were right.
"i took his vision, and now the vision hunt decree is chasing after me." he breathed out, wrapping his arms around you. "i have to go."
there it was. he uttered the very words you were dreading to hear.
you stood still, trying to accept what was coming. you hugged kazuha tightly, wishing he wouldn't have to leave your embrace, tears brimming in your eyes.
"do you have to?" you asked, your voice breaking, and kazuha nodded.
"i'll come back. i swear." he whispered, intertwining his hands with yours. pressing a soft kiss to your lips, he smiled bittersweetly. "will you wait for me, y/n?"
Tumblr media
years had passed by, and kazuha remained unchanged. the scent of sea upon the wind and the spindrift of waves remained the same.
the only thing that had changed was inazuma. the sakoku decree had been lifted, and inazuma was welcoming people again, for the irodori festival.
when he ran away, he'd joined the crux fleet, as captain beidou was glad to take him in as a temporary member. he often hid in the ship whenever beidou took trips to ritou, fearing arrest.
he hated every second of it. all he wanted to do was run to you, run to your embrace and kiss you longingly.
a mysterious traveler had challenged the raiden shogun, and upon defeating her, they wished for the decree to be lifted. she approved, and inazuma celebrated.
right now, he was standing beside beidou, still hesitant about being caught by soldiers. beidou was chatting with thoma, the retainer from the kamisato clan.
it wouldn't hurt for him to leave for a few minutes, no?
"beidou, wait a minute." kazuha asked, and the captain raised a brow. "do you mind if i take a little longer? there's...someone i'd like to visit."
beidou chuckled a little, "your secret lover, eh, kiddo?" kazuha's sudden blush answered the question for her. "go gettem."
kazuha nodded, turning around on his feet and quickly making his way through the crowds of inazuma city, listening to conversations.
"did you hear about the irodori festival is being announced??"
"apparently the head of the kamisato clan is getting betrothed!"
"the tri-commission is planning a wonderful wedding."
"aw, they've banned fireworks for the festival! what a bummer!"
inazuma had certainly changed from its frozen state of eternity since he'd left. since the vision hunt decree was lifted, kazuha felt the unbearable storm in his heart cease.
he smiled to himself, thinking about you. he wondered how much you'd changed since he last saw you. you must be even prettier now than when he saw you last (although kazuha didn't believe it was possible).
the wind beared misfortune, that day. kazuha had sensed it when the crux came to the docks at ritou. he'd sensed it long before, but merely shook it off as his own uneasiness about stepping into inazuma as a fugitive. he wasn't anymore, though. atleast he hoped he wasn't. perhaps he should meet up with the tenryou commission and talk to them about it.
nevertheless, kazuha's heart was racing, but so was the panicked billowing of the wind upon the skies.
kazuha went forth, to a secluded corner of the city, where he remembered your estate. he remembered sneaking out of his house to meet you late at night, and he remembered the sweet scent of rain your figure held when he slept soundly beside you.
he knew every pathway that led to you, by heart. and he was following one to see you again. just like he used to, kazuha peered up at a lonesome balcony; one he hoped still belonged to you.
inhaling sharply, kazuha started climbing. he swiftly got up, composing himself as he knocked on your window. the curtains were drawn, but they slowly opened to let the light in the room.
kazuha was met with your gaze.
your eyes widened as you opened the window, letting the young poet in, a big smile beaming on his face.
"k-kazuha...?" you spoke, your voice breaking as you tried to comprehend the man in front of you. kazuha breathed out, euphoria filling his senses. you'd grown so beautifully, like a delicate flower, blooming with light.
"...you came back." you whispered, a tinge of unease lingering in your tone.
"of course i did, y/n." kazuha wrapped his arms around you, but you hesitated. "i could never forget about you, even if i tried."
he held your hands, the same warmth in his eyes which you'd seen years ago, when he was still the one who held your heart. kazuha pressed a soft kiss to your forehead, and you flinched in response.
kazuha raised a brow. "....my love?"
"you shouldn't do this, kazuha." you frowned, your voice barely a whisper. "you shouldn't be here."
"why... why not?" kazuha's eyes widened, feeling an unfamiliar ache in his heart. were you mad at him for leaving? it was understandable, anyway. "we're engaged, after all. i promise i'll be here with you from now on. i won't leave you again, just give me a chance."
you looked up, your eyes glistening with tears. "you're too late, kazuha."
kazuha's resolve faltered, and he whispered, "why?". you inhaled sharply, unable to meet his gaze, out of your own impotence.
"when you'd been declared a criminal by the tenryou commission, my parents immediately broke off the engagement. they... started searching for a new suitor for me."
his worst fears were coming true.
"i'm being wedded to commissioner ayato from the kamisato clan." you finished, and kazuha felt his heart shatter. the wind howled in grief, singing songs of distress over the shores of inazuma's islands. "i tried to stop them, kazuha. but they didn't listen to me."
so that was the reason for all the cheer in town, huh? a wonderful wedding, a joining of two houses that would remain eternally prosperous. well, what could a samurai of a declined clan offer you that the head of a flourishing one couldn't? perhaps it was his fault that he never made a name for himself. nevertheless, it was too late to blame himself for what happened.
it wouldn't bring you back to him, anyway.
he opened his mouth to ask, but no words came out. his grip on your hands tightened a little out of fear, his breathing being the only noise in the stillness of the moment.
"...are you happy?" he finally spoke, the tears forming in his eyes threatening to betray his hopeful voice. because he knew all too well, it was too late.
your silence gave him his answer, an answer he didn't know if he wanted to or didn't want to hear.
kazuha forced himself to let go of your hands. "i hope you will be, every day. you deserve to be."
he was just sorry he couldn't be the one to give you the happiness you deserved.
kazuha remembers. he remembers gazing upon the moon late at night, wondering if you were looking at it too. he remembers spending each day, each moment away from you, drowned in your memories. he remembers writing eulogies and poetries, ballads and symphonies, wishing you could hear them one day.
he remembers wishing on every shooting star, every dandelion and every first star of the cold, soundless night. he remembers you. he always will.
"but... do one last thing for me, y/n." kazuha smiled, "pretend. pretend like i never left. pretend like we were destined to have a happy ending."
kazuha can only hope, and pray to whoever would listen to a lone wanderer's wishes; that you would remember him just the same.
"pretend that you still love me. just for tonight."

月が綺麗ですね (tsuki ga kirei desu ne).
Pairing: Kazuha Kaedehara x Reader (gender-neutral)
Word count: 812
Summary: Your dejected demeanour does not escape the notice of the ever perceptive and observant wandering samurai.
In which, Kazuha provides comfort for you during a challenging time and reveals a bit more than he should. Though, he’ll tell you the full truth in due time.
Tumblr media
The moon is beautiful tonight.
The stars string themselves to form constellations and glittering pendants of light, illuminating your form and dousing your ethereal beauty in the glory of starlight. Kazuha can’t seem to focus on the scenery around him. He can sense the direction of the wind and the soft rushing of the ocean waves beneath the ship.
But tonight, he can’t concentrate.
Tonight, he doesn’t know what to think when you’ve languidly crawled into the crow’s nest to sit solemnly next to him. Underneath the same constellations that peer through every night, he doesn’t know how to react when, despite sitting so close to him, your mind feels miles and miles away. Desperately, he wants to chase your thoughts, immerse himself in them to understand the countless motions running through your mind or the emotions rapidly coursing through your veins. Resolutely, he wishes to bring your soul back to this moment, back to this stunning night of meteor showers, and back to him. Bringing you back right by his side where he’s always yearned for you to be.
Briefly, he catches a glimpse of your eyes shimmering, the warm (e/c) he’s so fond of gazing into is swiftly engulfed in crystalline layers. He feels powerless as your lips begin to tremble, quivering with a melancholia that he’s experienced all too often, and your chest subtly surges as you release a soft whimper, heaving with a pain he’s all too familiar with. The corners of his mouth turn downwards, his brows furrow and he clenches his hand, fingers burying light red crescents into his palms.
The form drenched in starlight, the muse of the sonnets he pens in the presence of the moon and the figure depicted in little sketches he litters his journal with. His heart aches at the sight of your dejected demeanour, squeezing within his ribcage as he inches his fingers towards your shaking hands.
He doesn’t like seeing you like this. You’re ever so breathtaking even when teardrops escape your eyelids and your heart is slowly crumbling and breaking in two.
Kazuha knows this pain. But he doesn’t like it’s look on you.
You shiver as a cold, crisp draft of the chilly night weaves across the space between you and Kazuha. Swiftly, with measured movements and with the dexterity he’s amassed in his years of wielding a blade and calculating his every movement, he unravels the obsidian and vermillion scarf around his neck. Round and round, you witness the fabric adorned with golden embellishments wrap around you. Out of instinct, you melt into the lingering fragrance of petrichor, spice and earth. The samurai’s distinct and comforting scent lulls your previously thundering pulse into a rhythmic heartbeat that mirrors that of the ocean’s waves that surround the Alcor.
Carefully, he tugs on the ends of his signature scarf, pulling you closer to him.
He doesn’t like the distance between you, he never has.
Pressing his forehead against yours, he earnestly meets your teary ears that stream with tracks that reflect the stars in the sky. Lightly, he brushes his nose against yours. Despite being the one taking the initiative, you still take his breath away. His eyes dart downwards but he doesn’t want to take advantage of this moment. Not when you’re so vulnerable. He could never. He cherishes the you who is independent, tenacious and headstrong - he couldn’t dream of crossing your boundaries when your feelings unravel before him without your control.
His breath caresses your check as he asks: “What’s on your mind, my little starlight?”
Once you’ve told him of your woes, he holds you closer, allowing his touch, his embrace and his presence to affirm you that he’s here for you. And he always has been. He wants you to forget about your pain for a while. To keep your intrusive thoughts at bay, and he tells you little stories of his childhood, his training and his past. Sonorously, he recites sweet haikus that paint pictures of lovers in clandestine encounters, of celestial figures that traverse the magnificent scenery of Liyue and Inazuma, and of grand adventures shared by a virtuous and honourable duo. Although, he leaves out the part that all of them are secretly about you. He whispers sincere words of affirmation, uplifting remarks and charming compliments into your ear. In response, you shiver but it’s no longer because of the biting cold anymore.
You have both been conversing for hours, but with the moon so stagnant in the starry sky, he feels that the night has encased your figures in a pleasant and serene reverie. Here, it seems time stops - it stops long enough for him to revere your being and appreciate the beauty that emanates from your form.
Eventually, he sets his eyes on the crescent that glistens against your heavenly features and then peers down at you, gently declaring: “月が綺麗ですね (tsuki ga kirei desu ne)”.

Dusk- while the earth and I talk leaves fall

"Come driving rain or winds that churn, I shall return, by blade alone, armed, if barefoot, to my home..." I am Kaedehara Kazuha, a wanderer who roams the land. Since we are both travelers, let us journey together for a time.
A gentle and easygoing wandering samurai. Losing the good name and the wealth of his family allowed him to travel around the world, never to linger in one place for too long. Wherever he roams, he has a sword at his side and a soft smile on the lips.

ILLUSIONARY SIGHTS LIE UNDERNEATH THE AMBER-ETCHED SKIES, SUN BEGINNING TO SET ACROSS THE HORIZON AND PAINT THE PATH TOWARD A NIGHT SWATHED IN THE GLOW OF STARS. It is in this transitionary period she finds the kin of Kaedehara basking in the leisure that only tranquil nature can provide amongst the grassy hilltop overseeing Wangshu Inn. Today's indulgence seemed to be a much too relaxed nap, an orange glow cast down upon his face from the remnant of light that remained from the sun as she all but halted in her tracks to cast a fond gaze down upon the wandering samurai. On one hand, she dared not wake him from his well-deserved slumber. On the other, she wished to swipe her gloved hand across his forehead, sweeping astray bangs to the side to further admire the true extent of his comfort. In the end, the admiration and enamor cultivating in her chest from finding him in such a state can't be helped as the Yuheng kneels down to observe closer, an utterly endeared smile pressing on her lips.
Tumblr media
"You are included in my dreams, Kazuha. Don't you know that?" Keqing whispers gently, true intent one that is not to stir him from his sleep as a chaste kiss is pressed to his cheek as her eyes flutter to a close, musing aloud. (An unspoken confession, a recollection of their many bouts amongst the scenic routes of Liyue with soft-spoken chatter that has branded a place in her heart.) "To wherever you wind up calling home, I hope to fight for the peace that meets the land and allows you to nap comfortably as you are now. If you decide to wander, all I ask is that you eventually return to share your tales and give me the time of day."

i'll never smile again.
Tumblr media
request; So… here’s my brain rot; Kazuha x Oiran!reader Maybe it’s just a place Kazuha just happens to stubble into while making his escape/hiding (crash into room lol) , that someone who has enough connections & wealth to aid him in leaving Inazuma Maybe she knows “Tomo” the relationship can be either platonic or romantic A bittersweet to fluff if they able to meet again ? Or maybe angst if the said Oiran was found out that she aid a wanted criminals thus face consequences ? It’s up to you -nemophila summary; as the oiran of a house in inazuma's very own red light district, you use the small power you have to aid a man in need. no matter the price. pairing; kaedehara kazuha x afab!oiran!reader warnings; sfw, angst, death, no beta notes; this has to be one of the best ideas i have ever been graced with for sure, thank you so much for letting me write this for you aaaAAHHHH I HOPE U LIKE IT IM SO SORRY FOR THE WAIT <333 man this got o long with so much unnecessary middle bits so i had to cut so much out </3 sorry abt the angst too but when given the choice i will always go with angst my beloved
brought to you by half i'll never smile again and half sinking from the omori soundtrack
song; i'll never smile again- tommy dorsey
your hand stilled as the snap of splintering of wood shattered the peaceful atmosphere, half-mixed tea dripping from the chasen in your hand. you blinked a few times, your widened eyes locked within the plum stare of a young man who seemed to be just as surprised as you were.
the boy, who was currently upside-down across the room in a small pile of debris from your now-broken window screen, simply stared at you as if he expected you to scold him.
"are you alright?" your gentle question was certainly not expected, as the samurai's (as you assumed from his attire) face flushed a pretty pink before he scrambled to his feet, bowing deeply.
"my lady, i-"
you couldn't help but chuckle lightly at his disheveled appearance, interrupting him.
"there's no need for apologies. why don't you come sit, i have a few questions to ask."
you turned back towards the tea you had been preparing as he hesitantly made his way over, sitting cross-legged at the other end of the table.
"forgive me if i'm wrong," you mused, pouring the tea into his cup, "but you must be one of tomo's friends, correct?"
the look on his face was enough to give you your answer.
Tumblr media
you had known tomo a long time. you had initially met thanks to a friend of his who had purchased time with you on his behalf to get him to "relax", but the two of you ended up talking for hours instead.
luckily, as a rather popular and high-standing tayu, you were allowed to be picky. you rarely engaged in anything besides making public appearances in the oiran parades, sadō, and ikebana, but that didn't mean your time was any less expensive.
but tomo always seemed to have the money, or the wit, to steal a bit of it. he would show up frequently, telling you tales of his travels, stories of his friends, bringing in news about the war and dramatic rumours about a legendary traveler.
until one day, his visits stopped abruptly.
tales of the wanderer with an electro vision receiving the blow of the muso no hitotachi had told you what you needed to know.
however, thanks to tomo's stories, you were able to recognize kazuha right away. he told you that tomo had mentioned the oiran house as a means of safety and asylum, and you were happy to help him on tomo's behalf.
so, kazuha's intermittent appearances began. his semi-weekly visits turned weekly, turned twice a week, turned daily, and suddenly you were standing over him, chastising him lightly for being careless before insisting he just stay in the house until you could find a way for him to get out of the country.
"i can't keep making up excuses for the shogunate army showing up at our doorstep!" you would scold him, the image of you pouting with your finger pointing at him making him flush just a bit. nevertheless, kazuha continued to refuse up until you threatened to swat him with one of your 8-inch geta.
oirans, however popular and famous, did not have easy lives. you were one of the luckier ones, managing to gain your status of tayu, allowing you a taste of extra freedom- but your debts continued to loom over you like a caged monster just waiting to swallow you whole. in light of his hesitance to overstay his welcome, you assumed that kazuha was aware of this fact.
but despite your shortcomings, you were determined to help him. if for nothing else, you would do it for tomo.
what you didn't expect was for the samurai to... grow on you a bit. he was polite and charming, well-mannered and sweet. archons, he would even write you haikus on quiet, starry nights. with all the hours you spent with one another, it was no surprise that you began to fall for him.
your occupation did not allow you to take a lover, so you instead tried to focus on finding a way for kazuha to escape inazuma. thankfully, after some flirting and promises on your part, a boat was promised and a date was set.
you didn't want to admit it, but the thought of him leaving inazuma- leaving you- behind, left a sinking feeling in the pit of your stomach. you weren't used to such feelings of fondness, the twisting and pulling of your heartstrings foreign. you felt almost shameful, finding yourself nearly unable to withstand sudden urges to grab his hand or touch his shoulder. you were so preoccupied with figuring out your own troubling emotions you completely missed his rather obvious return of affections.
it wasn't until the night before kazuha's escape that he pulled you aside, holding both your hands, his eyes glued to the floor. you were confused but completely flustered, your mind scrambling for anything to focus on besides the way his thumbs gently smoothed over your knuckles. he looked as if he was struggling to find words as his equally reddened face stared down at yours, your heartbeat roaring so loud you swore he could hear it. after several moments of blaring silence, four words you would never forget fell out-of-breath from his pink lips.
"can i kiss you?"
Tumblr media
a soft breeze blew lazily through the electro-charged air as you were lead up the steps before the grand statue of the omnipresent god, the soon-to-be stormy weather feeling sickeningly fitting for the occaision of the day.
it didn't take long after kazuha's successful escape for the shogunate to track you down. you had been taken into custody for assisting a wanted criminal and in turn opposing the vision hunt decree, which was technically treason towards the shogun, resulting in an execution. you had managed to dodge that fate for nearly a year, but it seemed the shogun was tired of waiting.
you spared a glance towards the gathering crowd. sure enough, the face you wanted to see the least stared up at you, eyes wide, expression one of horror and regret.
you weren't sure why he had returned to inazuma, but you knew it must be for a good reason. perhaps during your imprisonment the resistance had finally made it's move.
despite your impending fate, you couldn't help but feel happy. happy to see the man you loved one, final time, knowing that he had lived past his escape.
so, you smiled. a wide, genuine smile, hoping your lover would understand what you were trying to convey.
you didn't regret what you did. you would do it again, and again, and again, and again if it meant he would feel happy for just another moment more.
kneeling before the shogun, her face as stone cold as ever, you continued to smile, recalling the feel of his fingertips and the soft brush of his lips.
and as your archon raised her sword, you recalled the very last haiku he left with you.
"as bright as a star you, dear, shine brilliantly the night sky is yours."
"i love you, kazuha."

Enchanted by the Birds and Blossoms, He Wanders the Moonlit Path
"If one's heart is empty, all under heaven is empty.
But if one's heart is pure, all under heaven is pure.
—— Kazuha's Musings"
Kaedehara Kazuha
Scarlet Leaves Pursue Wild Waves
A wandering samurai who has left his homeland
Anemo
Acer Palmatum
Tumblr media
A wandering samurai from Inazuma with a modest and gentle personality.
Beneath a youthful and carefree demeanor lies a heart that hides a great many burdens from the past. Seemingly easygoing, Kazuha has his own code of conduct.
Kazuha leads a wandering life, setting out on his journey in the day, and sleeps with the sky as his blanket and earth as his bed in the night. Wealth has never been his pursuit, and regardless of summer or winter, what he seeks has always been true peace in his heart. Despite the wilderness being his home, he never worries about the impending rain or storm. It is as if rainstorms are afraid of him, because they do not dare to cross his path.
Out of curiosity, someone asked about this talent and Kazuha answered with absolute honesty — reading the sounds of nature is a unique ability of his. People do not usually pay attention to the weather, so it is no surprise that they are unable to discover the signs it reveals. However, given Kazuha's skill, he can sense the arrival of snow and rain immediately with just a gust of wind or abnormal humidity. That is when he knows it's time to seek shelter.
Kazuha, who has traversed around the lands, has avoided countless torrents of storms and flashes of lightning. This time, however, what awaits him will be an unprecedented thunderstorm. This time, he will no longer seek refuge. He, the rain, and the lightning will meet at the intersection of fate, as destiny marks it.
"—— I hear a storm strike far and distant, with only a whisper light and faint. From the sky there falls no rain, thus here I shall still remain."

Kaedehara Kazuha || Genshin Impact
Tumblr media
a wandering samurai with a calm and gentle, but rebellious nature
”occasionally, he opens his mouth and flowers come out instead of words”
loves poetry. if he feels inspired, he might write a haiku for you! but don’t put him on the spot
has an incredibly keen sense of hearing and smell. he’s basically impossible to sneak up on. he also might tell your muse something like they “smell like stars.” that’s pretty normal for him
looks a little young for his age, but he started a rebellion and can drink most pirates under the table (but not a certain bard, apparently). his compact size helps him use his wind powers to toss himself into the air. love a short king
hardly ever stays in one place too long. prefers wandering and sleeping outside
dislikes bad weather. likes fish and sleeping on warm rocks (secretly an outdoor cat?!)

“ maybe we can cuddle? you know, seeing as we’re already here… “ / from natsuki
Most people might not find this situation to be ideal. Cramped in a small room that only offers a bed that seems hardly enough for one person. And yet - he finds it to be perfect. Most of his clothes has already been removed, and is drying near the open window so that a gentle, cool breeze can flow into the room. It feels rather nice against his skin, especially since it is still a little bit damp due to little droplets of water still clinging to his hair long after their bath. The time to sleep has come, especially since they are expected to leave early in the morning. Their journey here had been a long one ; there is no doubt they are tired, with weeping bones that deserve a much bigger, and softer bed to spread their limbs on.
Tumblr media
But how can he even consider sleeping, now? When all he can think about is wrapping his arms around Natsuki, and nestling his face against the back of his head.
Soft laughter slips from his lips, and the Wanderer finally takes his spot behind him. Turned onto his side to make the most of the space - an arm sliding around Natsuki’s waist. “If you wish to cuddle, you can simply say so . . .” He is never going to deny him of any physical contact. Especially before they’re meant to sleep. Kazuha rather likes to feel and hold him close against himself. With a hum, he presses up against him. The warmth of their skin, and the breeze . . . he has reached cloud nine. Every bone, and muscle in his body is relaxed, and his mind is at ease as his eyelids flutter shut, his face nestling into the back of Natsuki’s head in order to breathe in his scent. “I love you.”  He could fall asleep just like this. /   /   @wcvensouls !

" i'm sorry i couldn't do more to protect you. " / from tomo to kazuha
Grief was fresh in his heart. Often times making it difficult to inhale - to keep himself from shaking, and his eyes from burning red as tears began to weld.
Kazuha’s eyes would go distant. And in his mind, he would replay his failures over . . . and over again. Kazuha was a young master, and yet he acted like a spoiled child that knew nothing - one that could do nothing to help change and shape the fate of their depleting clan. Goodbyes were uttered before he was ready, and he would often times spare himself the humiliation of his voice cracking by soundlessly walking away. But what would have happened . . .? If he chose a different path . . . if he fought for them longer, harder . . . if he hadn’t run. Far too many times - he would recount the last conversations he had with his father and would find himself wanting nothing more than to go back in the past and apologize to him for his childish ignorance.
As fate would have it, those burdens became lighter over time. No longer carrying enough weight to make Kazuha’s knees buckle. It is mostly because he found comfort in Tomo’s voice . . . his laughter. It never failed to make the wandering Samurai smile. For crystalflies to flutter in the pit of his stomach. Each time this happened, he would feel heat rise to his cheeks - and his heart would beat a bit faster. But it is when he would hear his name rolling off of his tongue while they invaded each other’s space and kept their hands upon one another, that it truly grounded him. As though they were the only two living souls existing in this world, entangled and burning brighter that a flame that has been stoked.
Kazuha is familiar with death. No matter how much one loves another soul, the mind will forget overtime. It is their voice that is first forgotten.
Desperation forced him to catch a dying vision that was expelling the last of it’s electro energy. Clutching it tight because he knew it would be the last of Tomo’s life he would feel close to his skin. No matter how much it burned, no matter how much he bled . . . he did not let go. It ached and often times left him weeping - mingling with tears of sorrow, grief and devastation that swore to break him. Countless nights were spent clutching the vision, going over his memories of Tomo over, and over again so that he could replay his voice as many times as he possibly could. Kazuha refused to forget this one - to lose the sound of his voice, of his laughter.
Time does not forgive, nor does it show any mercy. Each time Kazuha wakes, he finds himself wondering if he had filled in the gaps and dreamed up something close to what Tomo sounded. Kazuha would lay there, and attempt to recall it even if he knew it wasn’t quite right. Tonight is not the same . . . tonight his eyelids flutter open, and for the first time - he doesn’t feel painfully alone.
Tumblr media
There is a white bundle curled up against his thigh, purring as she sleeps. Purple Crystalflies cast a bit of light in the darkness that surrounds him. When had he even fallen asleep . . .? Ah. He must be much more exhausted than he had imagined.
“I’m sorry I couldn’t do more to protect you.”
No warning comes as the flood of emotions rush forward. Leaving him to choke down a sob that threatens to rip his heart out if he allows it to escape.
Physical trauma is often times easy to decipher. Depending on the extent of an injury, it is easy to foresee what complications will come before death looms like a shadow. But a pain that derives from the heart and soul . . . how can anyone medicate, or foresee how the body and mind would react? Kazuha feels himself freeze. Pain lodged in his throat as his eyes remain shut tight to keep the tears from falling. He can’t even bring himself to breathe - feeling his lungs burning, and aching for a breath. His body reacts before he can process with his mind ; forcing him to finally exhale and gasp in a breath. In that same breath, a pathetic sob breaks the silence. An ache so deep, a wanderer might assume the echo is an injured animal seeking salvation.
Salvation does not come, but in agony there is relief. Many years were spent attempting to stitch together something akin to what Tomo sounded. To the way he used to call out for him - the way he used to whisper his name when they were tangled in each other’s arms underneath the moonlight. Kazuha’s dream is fleeting, and the presence has disappeared as quickly and as suddenly as it had appeared, but he knows that what he heard was his voice. And Kazuha swears to treasure it, to hold it in his memory and in his heart in the same manner he held a dying vision that nearly burned a hole into his very bones. / / @wcvensouls

Tumblr media
((Sooooooo...yeah, if you saw my post a second ago..I uhhh...added new muses again. I can't stop adding cuties! My friend @sageofjustice suggested I try some from Genshin Impact so....here ya go!!))
"Well, this should be interesting. Thank you so much for wanting to give us a try." Ganyu gives a light bow but saw Hu Tao, Shenhe, and Dehya give a light nod.
"This is going to be fun! New places and new faces to meet! Even in a big building like this. How do you house so many here!?" Arataki looks seeing the estate but was pretty curious.
"Now now, You can explore everything when we get our rooms." Kazuha sighed crossing his arms with Razor looking quiet.
"So we are going to be living here?" Razor asked this with Cyno looking at him.
"Yes. I guess this is a new chapter for us."
"It is. Here are your keys. I Hope you all enjoy your stay with us." Alastor smiled to the group.
((So yeah. Like I said, they are not part of their cannon but in a new world. So, forgive me. I heard about this game but the muses are pretty cool. So, I'm giving them a try thanks to my sweet friend. So thank you again dear!))

Shizuko walks up to kazuha and pinches his adorable cheeks!

Cue a very . . . confused Kazuha. Maybe even a mildly offended Kazuha still trying to mind his manners. “Hello there . . . ” / / @visionlcss

Guilt . . . it replaces the adrenaline that had been pumping through his veins moments ago. Lips parted, chest heaving as he attempts to catch his breath, and regain his composure with wide eyes. Control had been lost, temper flaring out of control as he allowed grief, anger, injustice and failure to rear their ugly heads.
Tumblr media
Someone had been taken from him, and the only thing he walked away with . . . an empty vision, and a hand marred with the scars of gripping an electro vision that was going haywire. Everything had gone back to normal. The archon of their nation is revered, her soldiers resuming their lives. But what about those, who lost something during an unnecessary time of war? Those who survived had their visions returned, yet it doesn’t change anything. Kazuha remembers those who gave away their lives by wielding a delusion that was far too much for their bodies to handle. Withering away, in hopes that they would turn the tides in their favor.
Even now, with his heart drumming within his ears, and his blood rushing . . . he can hear the snap of a bow, and the whistle of an arrow cutting through the air before it lodged into someone’s back. The wind carried the scent of blood, and through it ; he could hear the fading heartbeats that bled out onto the sand.
A sharp breath is inhaled, as tears sting and threaten to spill. What good would tears do? It brings back no one, it doesn’t heal the life long injuries they’ve been damned with, it doesn’t reverse the harrowing effects a delusion has on someone’s body and soul. “I’m sorry,” it’s a genuine apology. Crimson eyes raise, and focus on Lumine ; clearly looking her over to ensure he didn’t land a blow that left behind an injury. Of everyone to take out his emotions on, why Lumine? Kazuha knows she’s strong. Stronger than he could have ever imagined, but it gave him no right. Except - it hadn’t been intentional. Kazuha would never intentionally raise his sword against her, except when they spar. “I . . .” a heavy sigh falls from his lips, and his shoulders drop as his eyes flit away, seemingly defeated. “I’m sorry, Lumine.”

________________ HEADCANON: 001. KAEDEHARA KAZUHA.
Revolutions come to an end - often times, leading to many chapters unfinished. A sentiment that Kazuha shares, still feeling undeniable scorn towards the Raiden Shogun and those were, and are affiliated with her army. No, it is not solely because of the death of his friend. Tomo chose his own path, and was able to see the greatness he sought for. What he detests, and will never forgive - is to believe that one, Archon or not, believes they have the right to take away someone’s vision. Someone’s recognition, their hopes and ambitions. Left to spiral into someone that is unlike who they used to be when they burned brightly.
To shoot others in the back with your bow and arrow, whilst wearing a vision at the hip... such hypocrisy. All while some gave away their lives, their very souls siphoned away just so that they could wear a delusion that would help them fight.
Resolve came so quickly, it almost didn’t seem real. The chapter seemed to have closed, and people have resumed with their lives - but Kazuha often times travels with Beidou in an attempt to flee from his own feelings as much as possible. Though he loves Inazuma, and he misses his friends greatly, he cannot deny the hatred he feels burning deep inside of his chest. Especially since he had always been someone to think, and see things in a more positive light. Accustomed to be as free as the wind, not even tethered down to his emotions. But death and loss? It changes people, hardens a part of their soul.
