Tener alta sensibilidad es un poco como tener el cuerpo en carne viva y el corazón expuesto a la intemperie. Sientes más, de todo. No es fácil.

El otro día, en un momento de desánimo, mi madre, que normalmente es la pesimista de la familia, me sorprendió y alentó con la siguiente afirmación: “Elena, nosotras sufrimos más por todo, pero vibramos también más por todo. Captamos matices que no todo el mundo ve. Nos emocionamos hasta lo más profundo de nuestro ser. Una música, un libro, una caricia, un insecto que vuela. Somos incansables detectoras de belleza. Y aunque el precio a pagar sea a veces muy alto en términos de emociones negativas, yo no cambio por nada al mundo mi sensibilidad con la indiferencia y superficialidad de muchos.” 

Pues sí, mamá, si al fin y al cabo estoy de acuerdo contigo, lo admito a regañadientes, porque es mi eterna lucha interior, pero en el fondo sé que hasta uno solo de esos escalofríos, tan solo uno de esos, que me recorren entera como una descarga eléctrica, vale todo un camino de oscuridad.

hi so it's nearly results day and i just heard my mumsay to my dad 'if she doesn't get an a* in her subjects she must be very stupid' and like i'm now stressing out like so much and just like how am i going to tell her when i don't get all a*s now..?????

I'm sorry if this isn't very eloquent I'm on mobile and am trying to watch some pots cooking on the stove while typing but I wanted to answer asap - it's nearly results day for me too so I feel the stress my dude. you getting alevels or gcses??Anyway, first up, ya mother is wrong. sorry if that sounds insensitive, I'm sure she's a lovely individual but,, nobody gets straight A*s. that's the point, you're not meant to. my cousin graduated from a fancy schmancy university with a first class degree and she got like, a couple of A*s at gcse and none at alevel as far as I know. and she's smart as fuck. Like, dangMy parents used to expect crazy high grades from me but then, surprise! My AS levels went a bit tits up. But you know, I just walked out of school and told them when it happened, and they didn't say anything bad. And you know what?? I don't think it made me stupid. I'm not stupid, and they don't think so either. Same goes for you - don't let anything or anyone make you think otherwise Your parents are as stressed about this as you are, my love - it took me a while to get my head around that, but they are. And people say silly things when they're stressed. I promise you're not stupid, and anyway, your exam results are absolutely not the be all and end all. I know people who've fallen everywhere on the scale, in terms of grades, from gcses to alevels to college/btecs to university. but, spoiler alert, they're all doing okay and they're doing great things that make them happy.I have the utmost faith in you, everything's gonna be fine, I promise. This day will not define or change anything about you, and your parents will still absolutely love you, no matter what. no mater the outcome. Keep me updated on how results go ok??❤️❤️

It was Take-Your-Gin-To-Work day this week according to my mum so i felt duty bound to join in. Every morning mr GinTabica and I hold a 'business' meeting while we walk the dog. This will nearly always mean a stomp up #glastonburytor so i thought this would be a fitting 'workplace' to take my latest edition to the mini gin collection @ginsharish blue magic. One of the joys of regularly walking such an iconic landmark is that you see it in all weathers and can rejoice in the simple pleasure of having the tor to yourself from time to time but today was all about the weather after last 'Gin on the Tor' debacle. It was something we had waited a year to capture, the beautiful Somerset levels shrouded in mist, the Tor rising above and all the surrounding hills looking like islands, alluding to Somerset's past. The day was frosty and gloriously sunny just the day to capture the blue gin. The bottle for Sharish Blue Magic is so unusual and not entirely disimmilar to the silhouette of the tor. The weather held and i was able to at least settle the bottle down without it blowing away! Was a bit early and cold to sit and have a nip of gin, and besides i wanted to enjoy the colour changing moment when you add the tonic.
