I say that with all love and Tumblr mutual respect etc etc but jelly is superior to jam, WHY would you want bits and texture. That's like inviting the horrors to sit on your warm, delicious, crunchy bread and making it Evil Bread™

Ok so as someone with other sensory issues I can totally understand why some people hate jam and prefer jelly. That said, jelly gives me the ick because it’s too texture in the other direction. It’s congealed fruit blood too cleansed of the delights that make it fruit. It’s too removed from its origin. The smoothness. The plasticky translucence. The jiggle. The too-sweet uninterrupted by the slight sour or woody taste of seeds. I don’t even like the feel of the word jelly in my mouth. It’s a nope for me.

(Also I grew up going to beaches that frequently had dead moon jellies washed up on shore and as kids we’d poke them with sticks etc and idk my brain forged that connection I guess?)

Anyway I picked blackberry because a) maximum texture, medium sweetness and b) I was thinking in particular of a blackberry-sage-mint jam that I LOVED that I used to get at a farmer’s market in a city I no longer live in and will probably never taste again.

so im not sure since when your asking to be caught up from, so ill just generally sum up my aus and stuff.

so general blog things first: I love receiving asks and fanart! both are great and light up my day :) tagging me in art and ask games are totally cool as well!

so aus (i know you probably know them all already but this may be for people who dont)

First we have Open Your Shell to Find Your Wings, which is shortened to Open Your Shell (i dont use the acronym bc it scares me), which is my longest running fic- i try to update every week to the best of my ability! please check my masterpost for a blog summary.

then we have my comics! which are all right here on tumblr! they update very erraticly and i dont have a set schedule for any of them. my most active ones are Unmutated Donnie, SnapDonnie, and Mosquitello (there is a theme here) the rest are kinda on the backburner lol, again, see my masterpost for plot details

Mosquitello is very interactive, with plot directing polls. you are encouraged to present offerings such as shiny rocks and crystals.

also! i thrive off interaction and most of my posts are me replying to asks and such, so dont be afraid to jump on the bandwagon!

My blog can get pretty chaotic at times, with random stuff happening some days (the day i waged war on rubber ducks was fun, or the day there was a battle on the subject that Soup is Dip (which it is))

there are a few proto-aus floating around, such as a little minecraft au (which may become a fully fledged au depending on interest and once i finish a comic and free up some time) which u can find under the #minecraft tag in my blog.

this shit sussy as hell to me ☝ and mutilation of body parts for whatever reason isn't such an unheard of thing irl either

it's not mendatory when one is living on top of the iterators/striving towards the religion and some May choose to rather wrap their hands up, but it is pretty common to cut the fingers off up there. some would rather do That to visually signal how good religious followers they are than actually work on themselves thru worship and other religion stuff. it's like a performance for everyone else, almost

the hands stuff in the oc lore is: • five fingered - the base for "higher" beings (aka sapient creatures capable of worship stationed on the planet) • three/four fingered - animalistic/way below the worshipping sapient creatures • fingerless hands - dedication to the religion in the form of renouncing using/taking anything the world has to offer. separation from the physical world is the whole theme of the Sins so goin as far as putting the body thru smth like that fits in real well

they sometimes take off the whole upper part of the hand (so half palm gone) or even the whole thing goes off. also thinkin that maybe the predecessor to this was just cutting the tendons that make the fingies move

#feel like i have become too complacent with watering myself down into an easily digestible identify for society #partially bc of my career is very conservative.. so #no piercings or tattoos. cut my long hair off to a mens hairstyle. i pass exclusively as a cis straight man as much as i can #especially around the old head bosses i meat #stopped learning japanese even though im mixed so i could learn French because its more useful where i live #i dont want to be useful and i dont want to be seen as some creature mimicking human anatomy like a robot i just want 2 be myself #but ive been doing this so long idk who myself would even be anymore #sometimes i get into old interests i had as a kid and i feel that spark like that 12 yr old didnt die on the inside but then its gone again #i wish a version of myself thats not palatable to my peers could exist #i want to relearn japanese and i want to ride motorcycles and i want to get into certain types of music or clothes #but it also feels like none of it really matters anymore at the same time #if i could be anything i would be a funeral director in nagoya but thats something that can never happen #i shove everything i like down so deep you have to reach to find it #this whole blog is an amalgamation of who i was and who i wished i could be #but being human we r just cursed with bodies that dont feel like our own and having to cut and shape them in a way #that u feel better but not enough so that the people around you are frightened #this is mostly the fact i have avoidant personality disorder and i know i can never be what normal is for most people #i want 2 be myself but myself died somewhere in a past life i think #i am not even human on the inside. half the time i joke w people that im an rpg slime or the human version of those sponge slimes #hence my nickname irl literally being gelo / jello / jelly #and if not that then black German shepherd dogs r also literally just me #but alas i am stuck in a human body #one thats too fat too hairy too sick too broken and i have to deal with it and rebuild myself everyday so people aren't uncomfortable #ANYWAY!!! maybe ill add onto this later ...idk.#to be born again.. sighs.

Any critter still using gills to breathe on land is good with me. By which I mean, they're creatures where it's clear to see the transition from being a water dweller to a land dweller and idk that sparks joy for me. I just love when the use of body parts change. I haven't seen enough species or morphotypes to have a solid opinion on which I like best but anything cute and flat like the Greek shield isopods appeal to me 🖤

#im also a fan of classic rolly pollies for the nostalgia :-]#i didn't realize there were so many different isopods. i wonder how their diversity compaires within crustaceans or how it compares to #insects. i cant remember y they think insects r so diverse. is it scale? bc theres just so much more space to expand into when u r small #and therefore u end up with massive diversity bc a lil guy can only go so far? so u get spp poping up everywhere? is that y microbes r so #diverse? idk but im pro insects and crustaceans and i guess water creatures generally. water mamals r on thin ice tho #idk im just the fucking weirdo who thinks animals arent that interesting unless ur talking abt how they function #love microbes tho.
