so,
im reading 'the reptile room' for the first time and now i have a strong headcanon that monty has adhd
the way he forgets what he was talking about just to start talking about smth else and then go back to the first topic, and he's getting frustrated when someone interrupts his infodumping making him forget what he was talking about - and in moments like this all he can think about is trying to remember what he was talking about and, and-
also the reptiles are his special interest, of course
and the scene where he tells klaus that klaus should be more careful with where he leaving things cause it can be dangerous (it's when he talks about the lamp "falling out of the window") and ignores klaus saying he didn't leave it near the window - i headcanon/interpret that monty's ignoring him saying this just cause it's smth he does himself - constantly leaving things somewhere and not remembering where exactly. he doesn't mean to ignore klaus/make him feel not heard or seen, he just wants him to understand that it's ok if smth like this happens
even in this particular scene - he was talking about some insects repellent and literally couldn't find it in his car cause he forgot where exactly he put it. and also he thought about doing a research on the repellent he already had to see if it will work in peru or not only when he had, like, one day till they were leaving for peru...
ALSO he said he always wanted to find a wife and have a family and kids BUT FORGOT TO DO THAT (very important addition i almost forgot to add to this post)
anyway, i now headcanon that monty has adhd and u can't tell me otherwise

Hey, I wanna rant. I was just rewatching Netflix’s tv series A Series of Unfortunate Events with my little sisters, and omfg, Monty. I’m gonna put this into section cuz I hate reading one chunky paragraph.
1. The orange jeep with his name on the license plate. Idk why but I love that
2. The outfits (sadly he only has a few but they were gorgeoussss)
3. HIS HOUSE?!?! have you seeeeen this man’s house. The wallpapers with green and gold snakes on it, the decor, the aggressive hyperfixation on reptiles and amphibians which is very neurodivergent of him
4. The green room, aka the most dazzling room with beautiful skylights and plants and architecture with cobras added into the wallssss
5. The animals in said room, like the turtles listening to scream music, the chameleons and snakes just vibing everywhere while you can hear frogs chirp in the background
6. The hedge trimmings of snakes. Omfg
7. Him conveniently living in a place seen as horrid and smelling bad so no one bothers him again, neurodivergent
8. His name being Montgomery Montgomery because he liked his last name and couldn’t think of a new name to pick and people already called him dr. Montgomery
Sorry projecting a bit there (also the name is giving Mobius M. Mobius)
9. I’m sorry to bring it up no I’m not but the Incredibly Deadly Viper being a big sweetheart and super friendly is literally giving Crowley so much I can’t even describe (aziraphale must’ve read the books at some point because he was curious and bored and giggled so much my goodness I need this au)

I need Lemony Snicket and Sunny Baudelaire interactions. She would probably think he is the most pretentious git to ever exist but just imagine. A tired Lemony dealing with little snarky Sunny the whole day and then reading her a bedtime story or probably some old classic to bed when she's tired and his word meanings in between would actually make her understand better and his deep voice would lull her to sleep and in that moment she allows herself to actually be a child who hurts for her lost parents the memories she never got to make, who craves for their love and found it instead in her two siblings, a herpetologist, captain hook and this weird writer/pseudo detective who's her mother's ex-boyfriend.
