I have never in all my life had so many emotions about a tumblr poll but oh my GOD I'm so happy Garak won, lmao. That was so tense.
#remember in the early days when he was winning by a huge margin (as is proper)#and then the memesters and inexplicable union people and actual weird purist homophobes caught wind of it#and lost their gd minds#right up until the very end there were people like “BUT IT WOULD BE FUNNY” and ''BUT M*LES HAD THAT ONE UNION EPISODE''#dude garak is not something very many people on here feel comfortable joking about#for like a thousand reasons#I adore the m*les meme but that wasn't an appropriate place for one#and you want to support the strike? whole reason garak had ziyal the teenager thrown at him and was essentially replaced by m*les#(even when it made no narrative sense)#was because of evil producers and executives. you know. the people we're PICKETING AGAINST?#out here in the real world? not the fictional ferengi one?#and wtf was all that stuff about him being a working class hero? earning his money? he lives in a MONEYLESS UTOPIAN SOCIETY WHAT DO YOU MEA#HE COULD HAVE BEEN A CELLO PLAYER BUT HE JOINED STARFLEET CUZ HE WANTED TO FIGHT. HE WORKS FOR FUNSIES. HE'S A MILITARY MAN.#he's in starfleet even though it actively makes his family's lives worse. AND his own. i'm so confused what people meant by that.#m*les just likes to suffer okay it runs in his family#if you cared about the working class and unions you a) Would Support Garak and b) Would Have Voted Rom Into The Finals#do NOT act like this was about unions. one person said it was and the rest of you glommed on even tho it made no sense.#and had little to nothing to do w/ whether or not he's the best star trek character. it was just left field and weird and it hurt my brain#then there was the homophobia. the borderline racism. the weird morality arguments that idek how to respond to.#and that's coming from someone extremely self-righteous and annoying about it. garak's my guy#tldr i like m*les ok. ds9 convinced me of his worth. to be clear i do think he's a good character#but no one was voting for him for any reason but weird random shit?? or hateful shit??#and that was just exhausting. like i'm sorry but that hurt me#i'm just so glad it's over and justice prevailed#my goodness#where's my fainting couch#/rant

hi!! over the past year or so, i’ve been radicalizing leftwards (does that make sense?), and while i do like to say that i have a pretty good understanding of things like socialism and communism and such, one thing i haven’t really been able to figure out is what anarchism is and how it works. like, i get the basic idea, but what with google being google and most people on breadtube not being anarchist, it’s definitely not as easy to research as socialism.
anyways, tl;dr: what defines anarchism and how does it work?
thanks in advance! have a cookie 🍪
"Anarchism asserts the possibility of an organization without discipline, fear, or punishment, and without the pressure of poverty: a new social organism which will make an end to the terrible struggle for the means of existence,—the savage struggle which undermines the finest qualities in man, and ever widens the social abyss. In short, Anarchism strives towards a social organization which will establish well-being for all."
leftward ho! thanks for writing. these questions are always difficult to answer because i don’t know where you’re coming from on your personal journey. but i’ll try to answer some of the basics and recommend some good resources to start with.
first of all, there are many anarchisms and if you ask three anarchists you’ll get five opinions. but probably the most prevalent form of anarchism is anarcho-communism, so while i’ll try to talk broadly from a general anarchist position, much of it be from an anarchocommunist perspective for simplicity’s sake.
Tumblr media
at it’s most basic, anarchism is an opposition to hierarchy, to one person having control over another. it is a radical commitment to compassion and absolute freedom. like communists, anarchists want a moneyless, stateless, and classless society. unlike leninists, who falsely claim to be communists, we know that there has never been a good state, and never can be. they are by their very nature oppressive, and cannot be used as a means to an end to achieve communism. no group or individual can wield that much power over others and not become corrupted by it. absolute power corrupts absolutely, etc. so while we are committed to the fight against capitalism, we are also committed to the fight against the state. they are intertwined and must be defeated simultaneously. so we believe in the abolition of all government and the organization of society on a voluntary, cooperative basis without recourse to force or compulsion, and the abolition of money and private property, as the best way to ensure the basic and higher needs of everyone are met.
Tumblr media
if you haven’t read it yet, the wikipedia article for anarchism is actually a pretty good place to start:
Anarchism is a political philosophy and movement that is skeptical of all justifications for authority and seeks to abolish the institutions they claim maintain unnecessary coercion and hierarchy, typically including, though not necessarily limited to, the state[1] and capitalism. Anarchism advocates for the replacement of the state with stateless societies or other forms of free associations. As a historically left-wing movement, usually placed on the farthest left of the political spectrum, it is usually described alongside communalism and libertarian Marxism as the libertarian wing (libertarian socialism) of the socialist movement.
Humans lived in societies without formal hierarchies long before the establishment of formal states, realms, or empires. With the rise of organised hierarchical bodies, scepticism toward authority also rose. Although traces of anarchist thought are found throughout history, modern anarchism emerged from the Enlightenment. During the latter half of the 19th and the first decades of the 20th century, the anarchist movement flourished in most parts of the world and had a significant role in workers' struggles for emancipation. Various anarchist schools of thought formed during this period. Anarchists have taken part in several revolutions, most notably in the Paris Commune, the Russian Civil War and the Spanish Civil War, whose end marked the end of the classical era of anarchism. In the last decades of the 20th and into the 21st century, the anarchist movement has been resurgent once more.
Anarchism employs a diversity of tactics in order to meet its ideal ends which can be broadly separated into revolutionary and evolutionary tactics; there is significant overlap between the two, which are merely descriptive. Revolutionary tactics aim to bring down authority and state, having taken a violent turn in the past, while evolutionary tactics aim to prefigure what an anarchist society would be like. Anarchist thought, criticism, and praxis have played a part in diverse areas of human society.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anarchism
i don’t know how much original theory you’ve read before, but i’ll give some reading recs. personally i’m a big fan of peter kropotkin, and found the conquest of bread to be a breath of fresh air after studying marx for years. others have recommended starting with errico malatesta’s anarchy or peter gelderloos’ anarchy works. and zoe baker (anarchopac) is excellent if videos or tweets are more your speed.

getting involved masterpost
hopefully that’s enough to get you started but please feel free to ask questions, and there are many more knowledgable people here who can help as well.

Alright it's time to stop comparing warhammer 40k to star wars. All you lot do with that is throw stormtroopers and space marines at each other and then act like star wars is stupid because "my fascist super soldier can beat up your fascist super soldier"
The correct comparison is Warhammer 40k vs Star TREK
The two are polar opposites.
Star Trek is about a humanity that pulled itself up out of the ashes of self-destruction brought on by hubris, hatred, and greed to put aside our bigotries, our selfishness, and our paranoia to embrace our better qualities and explore the stars in peace and friendship. A recurring theme throughout Star Trek is that those traits are still in us, and the classless moneyless socialist utopia we've built is difficult as hell to maintain. It could all so easily go awry but we stick to our values anyway because while a true perfect utopia is impossible, a better future is ALWAYS worth fighting for.
And then there's 40k
Where after pulling ourselves out of our self-destruction, humanity did not embrace our better aspects, where bigotry and paranoia became the values that drove humanity forward. Where we set out among the stars leaving trails of blood behind us. Where the vast majority of humanity lives in squalor as worthless, meaningless cogs in a dying bureaucratic regime, and must also live according EXACTLY to the imperium's values or find themselves staring down the barrel of a boltgun at the slightest transgression.
The United Federation of Planets is a strong, but fragile galactic power maintained by a shared sense of justice, compassion, and curiosity.
The Imperium of Man is a rotting carcass of an empire, shuffling on through sheer apathy, where fear, hatred, paranoia and bigotry, the vices the federation constantly struggles against, are treated as the highest virtues.
Star Trek is about the hope that we will one day set aside our differences and live in harmony with our fellow spacefarers out among the stars
Warhammer 40,000 is about the fear that we won't

Nobody:
No one:
Not one single soul:
Me: the Star Trek universe claims multiple times to not use money, however given other things we’ve seen in canon that doesn’t really make sense. Characters are frequently shown buying things, selling things, and describing things as items they “own”. Therefore, it doesn’t really make sense to think the Federation is some kind of moneyless Democratic space communism. The system that makes the most sense with what we SEE of the universe, not just what they say, is some kind of far left democratic space socialism, that does include private ownership. It’s my belief that the Federation grants its citizens certain things for a base quality standard of living - safe housing, healthy food, public transit, education, medical care, utilities - free of charge, however individuals are required to work to earn credits for more discretionary spending - ie a bigger and nicer house, fancy vacations to Risa, going to Quarks, designer versions of multi colored geometric sweaters. It is quite clear, in fact, that Starfleet members do earn a wage. You think Quark would just let everyone drink at his bar and use his holosuites for free just because they’re Federation? Hell no. Obviously money does exist to some extent in the Federation, it just is no longer required to survive, and is a more optional thing for those that want extra than the base of what the Federation provides

Furthering the world-building thought experiment of Midwives as an independent organization or governing body in a stateless/moneyless world: Imagine their purview extending not just to birth, but to abortion, women's health, women's history, and women's liberation by force where necessary up to and including the execution of rapists. Exclusively female membership, living in facilities akin to non-religious convents. In fact the most powerful of any large organization. How their services/protection might be engaged would vary depending on region. If this be a post-patriarchy world, they would be the first line of defense against the resurgence of said disease.
Farmers would be second most powerful. As permaculturists in a world where everything is locally sourced, and they would be responsible for protecting biodiversity of both flora and fauna in their biomes. There is no mass production of anything in this model. Wild animals are respected members of the community alongside domesticated ones. They monitor and survey the land, on guard for outbreaks and potential disasters, tending the food forests and keeping the biome healthy. They deliver non-human medical care to every creature in the land. Their voices are heard first on the floor of any development project and they can set hard boundaries or veto projects outright. While not explicitly stated to be female only, females would nonetheless outperform males in this field. Even in hunting.
Next up is Libraries. Librarians collect, organize, and administer all manner of public resource, not just books. Knowledge, tools, furniture, clothes, technology, seeds, genetic material, whatever is needful. They keep mundane records of everyone in their community, and community members can deposit personal logs for safekeeping here. Indeed anything the community deems of utmost value may be stored here. Every library is built to withstand assault, and to protect its contents-- a last resort lockdown would fully seal the library from the outside world for 100 years, killing anyone inside. The identities of chief librarians with access to sensitive collections (and the ability to lock their library down) are shrouded in secrecy. Field librarians go out on expeditions to collect data, specimens, etc where permitted by a region's Farmers (and always with a Farmer in attendance).
Hospitals are fourth, and we all know what they're supposed to do. Universities are arguably fifth, and bosom buddies with Libraries. Universities would be the only "large cities" you ever see, and are major transportation hubs. Any large scale project happens here-- rocket to the moon large. Trains occupy this status bracket as well, being the main arteries of civilization/transportation. Ocean cargo could be an extension or a symbiotic relationship.
Of equal influence are Mail and Sanitation. The postal service delivers through whatever means necessary. Any interference with another person's mail results in brutal application of force. No matter how isolated or alone you think you are, the post service will find you. If anybody at all sends you a message, you WILL receive it. They're the best trackers in the world. Many have working dogs as companions. Some have birds. All of them tend to be loners unless someone has done them dirty or behaves dishonorably.
Sanitation encompasses recycling/repurposing of non-compostable goods, composting itself (composting toilets are the norm), janitorial work, pandemic/outbreak containment, and burials (where applicable). If there's a landfill or old oil spill that needs remediation, they're there. Many have skill in repairs/fabrication, and choose this life to have first pick of scavenged parts. Many are also skilled at soapmaking, extractions (Greek oregano, eucalyptus, wintergreen, etc.), and distillation (vinegar).

Macaulay twins & Thackeray
Tumblr media
A nod to Vanity Fair in chpt. 2 makes not much sense at first, though for Richard it must’ve been rather alarming — Rawdon Crawley played cards to fleece his comrades.
However, this association may be a clue to understanding what is happening around the Macaulay twins in Book 2.
The parallel between Charles and Rawdon becomes more clear in retrospect, closer to end of the novel.
Both from respectable families but empty-headed, moneyless and dependent on relatives, they spend time drinking, gambling and screwing around. Both have debts — tend to be overly jealous — get arrested — get involved in love scandal with a rich rival — are ruined but ready to fight — end up in exile.
Yet, the only important thing here is Rawdon's relationship with his wife.
At her brother's elbow Camilla played the role of Becky Sharp in marriage with Rawdon: an attractive young couple that works in tandem, using their charm and wit to take advantage of wealthy friends, and exploiting affections of others to live a better life.
Francis gave some insights into this symbiotic relationship, describing it as 'they like to present a unified front but I don't even know how much they care about each other' (chpt. 8).
When Camilla abandoned this unified front, for Charles it was a betrayal as if she used to be his business partner, not just a lover or family member.
The most notable link to Becky is the role of Clytemnestra, performed by Camilla as well, and the symbolic meaning of it in both novels.
Like Clytemnestra, Becky Sharp is an archetype of a predatory female in disguise of false innocence. Strong-willed, cunning and bold, she’s a skilled actress and manipulator, still unable to predict the consequences of some of her actions.
At some point Camilla makes it clear to Richard that drunk Charles abused her, but Richard is surprisingly angry with her. He questions how Camilla got her injuries, because he feels that something's wrong (chpt. 8).
This situation looks quite peculiar in view of the analogy to Vanity Fair.
Camilla's counterpart, Becky Sharp, complained to her patron Lord Steyne that she experienced all sorts of injustice from Rawdon Crawley (VF chpt. 52). It sounds false, because Rawdon could’ve been a bully with other men, but with Becky he was a meek, submissive husband. All her complaints had only one purpose: to be pitied for her own benefit.
It's unclear to what extent this analogy works, but it may explain why Camilla wanted to put a distance between Richard and Charles. If she lied to Henry, or rather manipulated him, she wouldn't be glad to be exposed: just like in case with Bunny, Richard still was an alarm bell, the first person to whom the one can confide.
Thus she had to neutralise him. And thus she was unable to reconcile Charles and Henry later.
I dare say, Henry had seen what was going on, but he was glad to get rid of the third party in their love triangle anyway. Even Richard doubted his 'good' intentions.
Rawdon Crawley said about his wife: "if she's not guilty, ... she's as bad as guilty" (VF chpt. 55). It might illustrate Charles's point of view as well. Like Becky, his sister didn't want to bet on a losing dog. But even if Camilla had no evil intentions, the consequences of her actions were awful — she opened a Pandora's box.
According to Thackeray, “it is the unwritten part of books that would be most interesting”. And Donna Tartt used this principle full on, leaving all crucial events in shadows, but giving some hints to lead and mislead her reader through carefully constructed cultural references.
Which also can be just some Metahemeralism.

A thing I love about Becky Chambers Record of a Spaceborn Few in the Wayfarers series is how she depicts a moneyless space community of future earth refugees with no requirement to labor to have all your needs met and they obviously still have work and they obviously still have sex workers. And that’s just incorporated into the community and not even particularly notable to the people. Like, of course some people have a job of offering sex to people who just want sex. Of course some people just want sex with the understanding that’s all it is.
There’s lots of work I think wouldn’t exist without capitalism. Capitalism requires overproduction, making and doing well beyond what is needed or often even wanted - creating artificial demand, artificial scarcity, bullshit jobs.
But the desire for sex is older than humanity itself. And people’s needs and desires will be there no matter what system we make.
Part of the reason I can never be a SWERF is that when I ask myself, “in a society where everyone’s survival needs are met, everyone has community, everyone has safety, would there still be sex work?” the answer is clearly yes. There would still be people who benefit from safe consensual no-strings-attached sex, and there would still be people who get personal fulfillment by offering that to all comers when they feel able to. And they would clearly establish a structure for making that happen, just probably one safer and more straightforward than what we’ve got.
Sex is the one desire or need we say has to be filled by close personal relationships. We’re fine outsourcing for food, for hobbies, even for conversation and emotional support. We aren’t expected to get all of that just from our closest friends and family. Of course outsourcing our sex lives would also appeal to some. And of course offering that would be a skill some people work hard to develop and take pride in providing.
Sex work is mangled by capitalism just like all work is, but it’s valid valuable work. Treating the workers or their patrons as uniformly victims or villains is deeply misunderstanding what it means to be in a human society that accommodates our humanity.

Of course all problems and inequalities are direct consequence of modernity and in the past those who are now considered undesirable were considered divine and definitely weren't treated even worse and didn't have access to anything that resembles accomodations. Let's bring those times back!
In Ancient Rome specifically there was no hospitalisation, yes, but also people who were considered mad couldn't make financial and legal operations on their own at all and couldn't be citizens, and were considered pariahs by their communities. This is not to say that you are wrong because you picked the wrong time to see as "when things were better", it's that just because what causes problems now is capitalism doesn't mean that before it people were always kind and caring, everything is much older.
(Or that removing the money would fix everything on its own, for that matter)
are you literally so stupid to fail to see my point
the point isnt "LOOK WHAT THEY TOOK FROM US" the point is that fears and delusions depend on the society youre brought up in; and also sorry that a 5 sentences tumblr post didnt go into history of medical malpractice, it was a lighthearted post made by someone with those very issues
yeah, if i lived then, then id have a different delusion more fit to those times - but it would not resemble my current paranoia or nightmares of being drugged or talked to the way ive had medical staff talk to me bc those things are specific to our society.
(Also you can still have your rights denied for being mentally ill today as well?????? what happened to free britney??? And like My family doctor once literally suggested to my dad to involountary check me into psych ward which was smth my psychiatrist at the time was very much trying to avoid because he KNEW how dehumanizing that is, he spent more than sn hour trying to figure out if my visions of suicide were actual suicide risk or intrusive thoughts; telling me later that he was willing to gamble such a huge risk and responsibility he would have to take in case i actually did smth to myself - just to keep me out of the hospital stay because he worked there and SAW how dehumanizing it is. because getting in the ward here doesnt mean youre done when youre out, this shit affects FUCKLOAD of things in your life!)
are you really trying to be like "LETS TAKE AWAY ACCOMODATIONS FROM PEOPLE WHO SUFFER WOOW GOOD JOB" in my inbox rn btw considering that i am literally schizophrenic w some other mental illnesses, and that i take fucking meds upon meds for it, including antipsychotics??????? and i am also very grateful for those aids, but even with meds my condition will never be resolved and its severity very much depends on the people/society around me. my delusions while living in croatia might differ from someone who lives in the usa.
i literally have no patience or attention or care or anything to argue with you rn, if you wanna discuss political or economical or marxist or whatever theory in my inbox go ahead, but i am NOT arguing about my own fucking lived experience and having you speak to me this way, in an incredibly entitled and dismissive way. its late and im going to bed. i genuinely dont care for your "ummmmm ekshually capitalism is noot thaaat bad-" shit while i keep having episodes on the daily in a big part due to fuckin capitalism. losing my other job is putting me through stress because i have no money, but it also eased up certain aspects of my illness because i dont have to hit hardcore fucking deadlines every week.
p.s. who the fuck is talking about money not existing. if you are gonna bring that up within communist theory and up for a serious discussion thats a whole other thing, but moneyless and stateless society doesnt just rest on tadaaah no money, like theres a reason marx wrote books n essays on that shit and why daddy engels sent him checks. and even in ideal communist world we would still have mental illnesses, but i am absolutely positive that my thoughts would differ than the current ones and that they would probably be less severe. and also why is this implying that communism wont have like the fuckin medication
i usually take care to carefully reply to asks and try to actually give a serious opinion but i gen dont care if i sound incoherent rn, this legit pissed me off

i try to interact with as much reasonable anti-terf content as possible (as in, there's no reason for me to engage in "kill all terfs!!1!" content) and i think the main issue i see in most of it is a misunderstanding of what actual radical feminists believe versus the far-right spokesmen who just hate gender nonconformity. i just watched a video where the creator used ben shapiro as an example for terf beliefs, as if he is actually at all relevant to any feminist.
all the "terfs" i know are radically gender non-conforming. none of them are trying to reinstate gender roles but based exclusively on sex. we are not following patriarchal beauty standards and we actively fight against them. no makeup, no leg shaving for most of us. in many ways we are not presenting in the gender role of "woman" but simply believe in the importance of keeping that label as something to define us as an oppressed sex class.
the denial of how your sex "assignment" at birth affects most people throughout their lives feels very bizarre to me. no, i don't think that mtfs can escape male privilege and i don't think ftms can escape misogyny. if nothing else, these things will always be present internally and in their actions because of their socialization. looking at the poorer treatment of mtfs and generally better treatment of ftms, we can see that these are both based in misogyny, which is, as anyone will admit, a form of oppression originally established to control women and their reproductive capabilities. if there were no misogyny there would be no "transmisogyny." we can't attempt to reduce oppression by starting from the surface. or, even if that were to work and we were to eliminate transmisogyny, we would be doing nothing for boring old sex-based misogyny. and if that's where your values lie then i genuinely don't know what to say -- you are an old school misogynist.
there also seems to be a confusion on how radical feminists actually see the concept of gender. we do see it as something that obviously and clearly exists -- gender is the expression of sexism and the entire structure by which women are oppressed. but it is not the same as gender identity, which is an ephemeral, immaterial, and metaphysical concept. separating these terms is necessary for understanding radical feminism.
the radical feminist approach is a multi-step one. much like marx recognized the necessity of capitalism as an interim step before first socialism and later a moneyless and classless communist society could exist, radical feminists see protection of women's sex-based rights and spaces as a crucial interim step before gender abolition can occur. and even among radical feminists there are disagreements about what the root of misogyny truly is -- that is, do men oppress women because of the societal structures that have been upheld over millennia, or is it because of something innate to the male existence? (personally i prefer to think that it is a socialized response, though you can make an argument for either.)
further, women have to survive. i find it odd that it's acceptable to have a job in the professional managerial class for leftists because of the acknowledgement that everyone has to make money to live in our society, but it is a clear sign that radical feminists have no real principles if they are not the stereotypical frumpy, fat, hairy, man-hating lesbian feminist (which plenty of us are anyway. i'm not not that, but i don't feel more principled for being it). i can't speak for radical feminists in the global south, where i imagine this issue is amplified tenfold, but it is incredibly difficult to completely eschew gender roles while trying to exist in our society. it can get you fired from some jobs. it'll definitely keep you from getting hired at others. people won't care about harm coming to you if you aren't traditionally attractive. there is a significant degree of privilege, social and financial, awarded for conforming to gender norms. this is relevant.
most radical feminists don't care if a man actually fulfils a traditionally female role or "emasculates" himself by doing something like baking. but they also believe that that doesn't make them a woman, because they don't believe that erasing the boundaries of oppression by allowing anyone to identify in and out of an oppressed class is productive or relevant. and when it comes to medical transition, i think that the main points of contention are, first and foremost, that radical feminists only see gender as an invalid structure of oppression within which internal identity is irrelevant and second, gender dysphoria is something that cannot be separated from misogyny. (for ftms the relationship to misogyny is more obvious, but more mtfs the misogyny lies either in the pleasure of becoming the submissive woman or in no longer being seen as a homosexual -- something that is inherently gender non-conforming.)
finally, there is a distinct ahistorical thread present in the trans conversation. we need to respect the women of the second wave movement, who did more than they are given credit for not only in advancing women's rights but social acceptance of gender non-conformity and gay rights as well. we should heed their warnings when they tell us to talk proudly about women and women's bodies and to not allow femaleness to be erased. fundamentally, i believe this comes back to a point i have never heard someone criticizing radical feminists bring up -- the idea of a sex class and how it is relevant to the conversation of oppression. the sex class is the root, and class consciousness is the key.

@mitamicah this is very cursed, very stupid and very very low effort that i don't even know if it's funny or just dumb.
joker out wonka AU i guess.
The three wonka’s were famous for their factory. Unimaginable delights trickled out of their door and their creators just as mysterious as the secrets of the sweets they produced. All that was known was the three had made their fortunes together, being the greatest candy makers anyone had know.
Nace Jordan was a strange child. Mostly because he was not a child but a 29 year old man who lived with his good friend Kris who despite being 23 was lovingly called grandpa. He’s earned the nickname through an incredibly complex story of running gags, a weird roommate relationship a brief time in the circus and three different cats named steve. If I were to tell you the whole story it would end up an entirely different fanfiction.
The wonka factory had been sitting abandoned for many years. Everyone assumed the creators were dead, no children of their own or shady lawyers to pass on the empire of chocolate to. Then one day smoke started billowing out from the candy cane stripped smoke stacks and trucks began filing out of the factory once more. The town below was abuzz with excitement especially after there was an announcement. A video that claimed 5 golden tickets were to be won for a tour of the factory and a very special prize at the end.
Kris was dirt poor and Nace was dirt poorer. They lived in what was not legally a house and at night they would burn their own armpit hair to stay warm. It didn’t keep the fire going very long and really they should have used wood but that sounded less pathetic and sad.
One day Nace came home after had earned his paycheck at the miserable child orphanage (the owner’s name was Mr Miserable and the orphanage was the happiest place in the whole town with people flying in from all over the country to adopt little children from it’s doors because they were just that happy and well behaved). He found Kris eating a chocolate bar.
“I stole it from the weird freak on the street corner.” kris explained.
“steal-from steve?” Nace confirmed. Everyone stole from steal-from steve. It wasn’t even a crime anymore.
Kris then reached into his bag and pulled out another chocolate bar and handed it to nace, smiling sweetly at the way his eyes lit up.
“Happy birthday” he said.
Nace took the bar and held it like a newborn. It was a precious thing. Delicious and wonderful and just the thing to bring some joy into their poor, moneyless lives. He unwrapped the chocolate bar and couldn’t believe his eyes and the sight of a pure gold piece of paper. It was actual solid gold. Surprisingly heavy and as a result to compensate there was much less chocolate in the bar than in Kris’s. Nace pouted at the lack of chocolate.
“oh my god we’re going to tour the factory!” Kris beamed, pulling Nace out of his stupor and together they danced and cheered into the night, their excitement keeping them warm even when the fire died out.
The day of the factory tour came and the pair eagerly waited at the golden front entrance. Nace was allowed 1 person to accompany him. The others that had won was a finnish man with his friend who was also a finnish man and some other irrelevant people who I know you don’t care about because this is a really stupid story.
Finally the doors opened and ther before them stood the Wonkas. The first was a man with a mess of shoulder length black hair and a trimmed black beard. His wore a velvet suit with tails, lime green pants, a fancy black top hat and a shiny black cane. An led screen behind them (because they wanted to make sure the gathered crowd knew who they were) displayed the name JAN WONKA in big bold letters with little fireworks behind it.
The next Wonka was BOJAN WONKA according to the screen. His coat was a rich red with a much neater brown top hat and a colourfuly patterned cravat around his throat. He was shorter than Jan, with brown hair and a grey streak that fell out from under the top hat.
The final Wonka was JURE WONKA. His coat was bright purple, sensible brown pants and bright blonde hair stuck out from beneath the light brown top hat. He was easily the cutest of the Wonka’s and the author has no personal bias in that description whatsoever that is just how he is.
Then the author got bored and decided to not write anymore but you know the plot anyway.

what do you expect 2036 to be like?
Hmm idk I’ll be in my mid 20’s so for me probably chaotic and moneyless but hopefully very similar (in the good ways) to how that are now, and people have continued to get more open to things. I want to have a dog (i do now but I’ll probably be living on my own (or with my sister) and do something with either art or animals.
What do you think?
