Türkiye'de çocuklara kodlama öğreten ilk oluşumlardan biri olan Kodlama Atölyesi'nin kurucularından, Bilgisayar Mühendisi Mediha Ayşen Yüksel'in kodlama öğrenmenin çocuklar için faydalarını anlatan yazısını paylaşıyoruz. Teşekkürler Mediha!

Neden Kodlama?

Herhangi bir sanat dalında olduğu gibi, çocuklara ilgi duydukları alanda kendilerini geliştirmeleri için fırsat tanındığında, erken yaşta kazandıkları becerilerle hızlı bir şekilde pratiklik kazanırlar. Biliyoruz ki bu beceriler ne kadar erken kazanılırsa, o kadar hızlı yol alırlar ve böylece küçük yaşta büyük aşamalar katederler. Ancak, bugünün çocukları hâli hazırda teknolojiye merak duyarken, onları bu teknolojinin nasıl üretildiğine dair bir ipucu vermiyoruz -resme ilgi duyan bir çocuğa sadece müzeye götürüp resimlere bakmasına izin vermek ancak eline kalem kağıt vermemek gibi-. Ayrıca onları hedefleyen tüketim kültürü aslında onları düşünmekten ve kapasitelerini kullanmaktan da alıkoyuyor. Bu durumda bize düşen görev, çocuklarımıza vitrin izletmek yerine onları işin arka planına, onların da anlayabileceği yazılım dünyasına adım atmaları için teşvik etmek, vakitlerini tüketerek değil üreterek geçirmeleri için onları bilgisayar bilimlerine yönlendirmektir. Bu ise çocukların seviyelerine göre öğrenebileceği kodlama eğitiminden geçiyor.

Kodlama Nedir?

Bilgisayar programları, bilgisayara özel bir dilde yazılan kodlar aracılığıyla oluşturulur. Kodlar, komutlar ve sayılardan oluşur ve bunları yazı yazar gibi yazarız. Bu komutların nasıl sıralanması gerektiğini ve belli şartları öğrenirsek, bilgisayara istediğimiz her işlemi yaptırabiliriz. Böylece, kodlar ve hayal gücümüzü kullanarak bilgisayarda istediğimiz her şeyi oluşturabiliriz.

Algoritma Nedir?

Algoritma, bir problemi, parçalara ayırarak ve belli bir sıra ile çözmek için tasarladığımız yoldur. Algoritma öğrenmek, analitik düşünme becerisini geliştirmektedir. Analitik düşünme becerisi de, bir problemi en kolay ve en hızlı şekilde çözmek için izleyeceğimiz yolu hesaplamamızda bize yardımcı olmaktadır. Bu sayede pratiklik kazanırız, çözüme çabuk ve doğru kararlar alarak ulaşırız.

Scratch Nedir?

Scratch çocuklar için geliştirilmiş bir kodlama tarzıdır. MIT tarafından geliştirilen Scratch’te, çocukların bilgisayara kolay komut girmeleri için fare ile sürüklenebilen, renkli, tıpkı lego gibi bloklar oluşturulmuştur. Bu bloklar sayesinde çocuklar, sıkılmadan ve karıştırmadan bilgisayar oyunu, animasyon ve hikayelerini oluşturmaktadır.

Scratch aynı zamanda bir topluluk platformudur. Dünya üzerinden tüm çocuklar yaptıkları oyunları burada paylaşabilir, birbirlerinin oyunlarını oynayabilir ve oyunlarda değişiklik yapabilirler.

Scratch, gelişmiş çoğu ülkelerin devlet okullarında ilkokul –hatta bazı okullarda anaokulu- seviyesinden itibaren zorunlu ders olarak öğretilmektedir.

Scratch ile Kodlama Öğrenmenin Çocuklara Ne Gibi Faydaları Olacak?

Hepimiz için Scratch’te oyun yapmak aslında göründüğünden daha zor! Çokça düşünmek ve deneme yanılma yapmamız gerekiyor. Fakat yetişkinlerin aksine çocuklar çok hızlı bir şekilde öğreniyor! Bunun içindir ki, ünlü programcıların hemen hepsi programcılığa çocuklukta adım atmışlardır.

Çocuklar Scratch’te oyun yaparken algoritma mantığını da öğreniyorlar. Bir işi yaparken ilk neyden başlamaları gerektiğine karar vermeleri, eğer kod istedikleri sonucu vermediyse, bunun sebebini düşünmeleri ve sırayı düzeltmeleri gerekiyor. Bu da analitik düşünme becerisini geliştirmektedir.

Ayrıca, çocuklar için kodlama dilleri arasında en prestijlisi olan Scratch, 21. yy öğrenme becerilerine de katkı sağlamaktad��r!

Whats the difference between lichen, moss, mould and mushrooms if they're all fungus? Aren't they all the same sorta thing?

so, interestingly, all of these groups are very different !! instead of naming the differences, let me quickly explain what exactly these organisms are.

lichen :

lichens are symbiotic organisms, meaning they are in themselves the product of a relationship between different organisms. to simplify it, lichens are big part fungus, & smaller part algae (protista) or cyanobacteria (monera). these different forms of life together create lichen, which grows on trees, rocks, leaves, mosses & sometimes other lichens !! to read more about lichens, check out @/lichenaday's blog :-)

moss :

mosses are actually not fungi at all !! they are small, flowerless plants. they grow on trees & in soil. :-)

mould :

mould is a type of structure that fungi can form - it is entirely fungal. it reproduces through airborne spores :-) there are many different types of mould ; some are toxic, some are used medicinally, & some are saprotrophs. (note : slime moulds & water moulds are unrelated to fungal moulds !!)

mushrooms :

so, lots of people think mushrooms are a species of fungus, but they are not. "mushroom" refers to the fruiting body of a fungus ; what a mushroom is to a fungus is comparable to what a flower is to a tree - the part that reproduces !! not all fungi produce mushrooms (e.g. moulds, which do not have fruiting bodies as the entire organism is able to release spores). there are currently only 14 000 discovered fungi that produce mushrooms !! more fungi that don't produce mushrooms include mildew, yeast & lichen.

so, yes !! they're all quite different in structure, cells & function in the ecosystem.

🦠 He has super bad motion sickness to the point where if they're ever going into any sort of vehicle he need to take meds and be by the window so he doesn't vomit inside.

About the powers, they all have different abilities: Henry (phantom puppet) can see the past and future of anyone, Marianne (nightmarionne) can see anyone's dreams even if the person's awake, and, with Henry, she can create new places in alternative universes out of just will. (this is important to the lore).

Charlotte (Mai) can know everyone's secrets just by looking into their eyes, and Charlie (puppet) Can read minds.

I would show you what Henry and Marianne looked like but I have no drawings of them atm

after the cut there's a "bit" of lore so if you don't wanna read it... don't. lol.

I warn you: my AU is stupid and the concept of shadows completely diverges from canon. Like. Not only some facts. The Remixed Shadows are a whole different thing.

So why do these people have powers? I don't know :D they just do. I thought it was cool to have characters with some sort of mind-reading powers so I just gave some to them. yeah.

Henry and Marianne come from two different rival families, and their story is kinda similar to Romeo and Juliette except Henry and Marianne don't die in the end.

the reason for this rivalry between the two families is the Shadows. that in my AU are some creatures without a defined shape or personality, and sometimes it happens that these entities "combine" their beings with a human's soul, becoming the creatures we all know and love. (it usually happens when the human is a child, but in Freddy's case it happened after the beginning of the AU, but that's a different story.)

the two families were both families of well-known scientists that wanted to study the Shadows and discover what these beings were, since they don't look like an animal, plants, fungi, monera or protists. the thing that diverged between the two surnames was their morals. the Scorpius (Henry's family) had the common conception that the Shadows were a danger to humanity and had to exterminate them (fun fact: Henry and Owynn are Brothers!!) while the Pantins (Marianne's family) had a more humane mind and just studied the Shadows for science and because they wanted to know more about this new kind of creature that first appeared in the mid-90s, and have no intentions of exterminate them and, in reverse, wanted to preserve them and protect these new beings and the humans they "fused" with. this divergence of minds caused the rivalry between the two families, but Henry didn't seem to agree with his family's mindset and instead preferred the rivals' way of thinking. Henry and Marianne met in school and, even though their families were rivals, they started to get feeling for each other as they got closer. of course, they had to keep their relationship secret from their families. and when they became adults, they got lawfully married without anyone knowing and decided that to keep the shadows protected, they had to create a safe space for them. so, using their Spaces-creating powers, voilà the Shadow realm. They promised that the Shadows would be safe from Owynn and Henry's family for as long as they can keep it, but I guess a newly-formed shadow that has no idea of the existence of the shadow realm and just wants to stay close to his human (ahem Fred ahem) gives a bit of suspicion to the vice principal and science teacher, ahem Owynn ahem.

in my AU the twins are part of the toys, even though they don't join the group until after the camp arc. and they already know everything that was going on with their family and the Shadows since they were young since their parents didn't want to keep anything secret from them. they also already visited the shadow realm some times before. even though they didn't spend a lot of time with Freddy or any of the Animatronics, they find out about the existence of Fred at the end of the camp arc, when Joy dies and Fred gets thrown into the shadow realm and gets saved from the twins themselves. (also other things blah blah another story)

oh shit that was a lot of talking um yeah if you want to know what happens in the camp arc and how Joy dies you can ask me but I'm pretty sure it will be kinda long like this one
