I was washing my dishes the other day & I heard loud & clear "Song idem", which according to Momdukes, means "Be strong". I haven't heard those words in SO LONG & I'm still processing it because I know it was my dad. He was the only person who would say that to us when @ediomi & I would warrior on with #SickleCell pain crises. I miss his tough calloused hands that would hurt when he tried to comfort us because he was so strong. I can honestly say I've felt lost without him and even though I talk to him a lot my heart still fucking aches over 15 years later. Today is getting off to a later start than usual. I slept in super late and was feeling really guilty about it but my body needed the rest and my mental needed to relax. It’s Halloween and I have a two year old who has been looking forward to this day all year. She is obsessed with Halloween themes, movies, characters all of the above and not to mention the one day I actually let her have candy……
